Chapter Three

ZOEY'S POV

Quinn, Logan, Chase and I watched as Michael and Lola paced back and forth in the room. Quinn and Logan were sitting on Michael's bottom bunk on the other side of the room from Chase and I as we sat on his single bed. We were all worried and on edge. Its been an hour since the PCA lockdown announcement and we were still waiting for police or someone to come for us.

As of right now, nothing.

"Zoey?" Chase said to me rubbing my arms, "You okay?" He questioned as I looked down at my shaky hands. My whole body was shaking at what was happening. Stuff like this just didn't happen at PCA.

PCA was the safest campus I've ever been to. When Dustin and I-

"Dustin." I whispered under my breath. My eyes widened, realizing there was someone else I should be worried about. "Dustin." I said again, this time louder. My head whipped over at Chase as I looked at him with a worried look in my eyes as I said frantically. "I-I need to know he's okay."

"O-Okay." Chase replied, then looked around on the bed. "Where's your phone? We'll call him." I frantically looked around for my phone, but it was nowhere.

"I-I can't find it. It must have fallen out of my pocket when we were running." I said as my heart beat faster thinking of my little brother. My breathing became uneasy, my head felt dizzy.

I felt like I was having a panic attack.

"Zoe calm down. I'm sure Dustin's fine." Chase tried to assure me, but I needed to know for sure. I shook my head and quickly stood up. Chase did the same, his arm wrapped around my waist.

"You're not going out there, Zoey." He said, turning to me as I quickly turned facing the door behind him.

"I have to find Dustin." I replied, tears filling my eyes, then pushed past him and headed for the door.

"Zoey!" I heard Lola scream as I opened it a creak, but it was quickly slammed shut.

"Are you crazy? You can't go out there!" Chase shouted at me as I looked over my shoulder at him.

"Chase, I have to find Dustin!" I shouted back at him, tears streaming down my face. "He's my little brother." I whispered, begging Chase. He sighed, then looked over at everyone else who had been staring at us for the last few seconds.

"I'll go." Chase finally said. My mouth dropped and I shook my head frantically.

"Chase, no! I won't let you. I-"

"It'll be okay." He assured me, his hands holding onto my shoulders. "Dustin's dorm isn't that far from here. Micheal and I will go get him and we'll be back before you know it." I hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"I'm sorry. Micheal's gonna do what now?" Micheal questioned, raising an eyebrow. Chase's eyes shifts over Micheal as he turned his body.

"Come on, man. It's Dustin." Chase shrugged. Micheal glanced over at me, seeing my very worried look. "Besides, you were the one who came out looking for me and Zoey." Chase reminded him. Micheal took a deep breath and heavily sighed.

"Alright." He said with a nod. "Let's go get Dustin." Chase nodded then turned his attention to me as Micheal walked over to the door.

"We'll be back." Chase whispered, "I promise." He kissed me on the forehead. Michael cracked the door open, and peeked out. My eyes were on chase the whole time as he left with Micheal. The door closed behind them and I hesitated for a moment before locking the door again.
