Chapter 4

It's unclear when it started; early records show tales of tragedy and misfortune for all who dwelled on this land. Early on apparently someone with a lot of money had built a large sprawling compound amidst the wooded area a ways outside of what would become Tokyo.

What happened isn't very clear but they were not there long as the compound would spend a long time abandoned.

Mysteriously nature itself never seemed to reclaim the land. Even weeds wouldn't intrude upon the place.

Many years after its creation the compound would start to claim its long list of victims. The first was a rich merchant, his family and his servants. Apparently they had bought it with ideas of rehabilitating it. This would grow to be a common theme.

It's said that the merchant's teenage son became troubled. Some say he became possessed. He started acting out violently against the servants and the animals of the compound.

Things eventually came to a head; there must have been some fight between father and son. One night the son murdered everyone in the compound, grabbing everything of value he could carry before running off to gods knows where.

Years later a rich family moved in, they were there for a short time when sickness and accidents started to plague them.

After a few untimely deaths they moved away from the area.

About this time there came whispers of curses, some would claim that the original owners of the compound practiced dark magic and left the land tainted.

Now over a cycle would be established. A family would move in and start to rebuild the place. Bad things would happen. Sometimes accidental deaths, sometimes people would disappear. A couple times the entire family would just disappear. Sometimes they would be found dead apparently by suicide or murder and suicide.

"Ok wait? Hold on a moment. Why the fuck did you buy this place? For that matter your rich why not just say fuck it and build elsewhere?" Kiku Michi Hayashi The punkish Miko asked me as we stood before the place in question.

I sighed and rubbed my temples "I bought it because it was cheap. The money isn't mine, it's my parents and I have been given a budget. There are a lot of expensive things I need they wouldn't understand so I had to cut costs somewhere. I thought the builders could deal with whatever is causing this but it's too nasty for them."

"So you called me to play ghost buster?"

"You're a Miko or have the powers of one. Inari simply has no authority over Ghosts."

Kiku looked at me incredulously for a moment then sighed, pulling out a silver cigarette case monogrammed with someone else's name. She took out a cigarette tapping it on the closed lid before taking out a matching silver lighter and lighting it. She took a big drag before breathing out a long puff of smoke.

"Well I'll see what I can do. I was rather surprised when you called. I would have thought you would have gone to the HCC for some recommendations."

I sighed "Things with the HCC have gotten a little strained. I didn't care for some of their actions so I am trying to not rely on them."

"Ah found out they were trying to have girls jump in the sac with you to manipulate you I take it."

"Wait you knew?"

She gave a sad chuckle "Yeah they didn't think a lot of my character apparently."

I winced "And you still went along with the job?"

"I told them fuck off they told me they didn't have anyone else to do the actual job so I agreed after they gave me more money."

I sighed and shook my head "Well I am sorry they asked you to do that."

"Don't be it's their fault. Behind the scenes I almost knew they were pretty slimy." She said.

She turned to me and smiled crooking her head "You know though. You're not too hard on the eyes. I still haven't repaid you for saving me back at the mansion. I wasn't willing to sell myself but you are pretty close to my type. Perhaps if you get tired of that old fox you could look me up."

I felt a murderous aura from behind us and for a moment thought that the ghosts had awoken but turned to see Inari walking up Mitsuko behind her carrying our luggage. Inari's ears were twitching and there was a deep frown on her face as well as a slightly murderous glair in her eyes.

"Raven, would you be a dear and help Mitsuko with the luggage? It sounds like Kiku and I have some… catching up to do." She said with a forced smile.

I turned and my mouth hung open. I don't know what was about to happen but I had an idea it wasn't good. I had a drawback that made women crazy and possessive and Inari was a god. That wasn't an ideal combination.

Mitsuko cleared her throat "That will not be necessary. I am more than capable of handling the luggage myself." She answered.

Inari gave her a rather annoyed look but sighed and turned back to us with the forced smile "Very well.

I guess our discussion can wait for later." She said annoyed and took my arm with hers.

Kiku looked slightly relieved. I am guessing she wanted no part of a pissed off god.

The compound before us was huge; It was surrounded by a stone wall that encircled the entire compound. Inside there were several smaller decapitated wooden buildings as a larger building made mostly of stone in the center that was partially caved in.

It was about noon when we made it up to the compound. As we got near there was a certain oppressive and malevolent feeling that permeated the air around the place. I could sense a subtle but powerful magic that enveloped the entire area

"So who all is for burning this creepy place down and then dealing with what's left?" asked Kiku from behind us.

"I don't think that would help. Ghosts aren't going to be affected by fire and even if we reduced the place to ashes we still have to figure out how to break the curse."

She frowned and crossed her arms "Well whatever, this place gives me the creeps I can feel the magic and dark energies already."

"Well that good…" I said then I asked the million dollar question "Can you do something about it?"

She took a drag and let out a long slow breath "Yeah… It'll take some time though. I don't know what happened here but it was bad; real bad. I am going to need you guys to help protect me. Things are going to get crazy when I start." She warned.

"Well do you have any spells that you can use to ward off ghosts that you can show me? I don't think my authorities will do much to them."

Kiku sighed and frowned "Really all the powers you have as a campione and you can't do something about some ghosts?"

"I can't do everything yet."

"Fine." She said and showed me a couple spells that either purified areas of dark energy or warded off ghosts for a while."

"I'll be too busy to defend myself with those so you better keep me alive."

"Alright no problem."

It was then we heard movement in one of the buildings.

Inari's Ears twitched; Mitsuko set the luggage down as her hand went to her sword.

"Something's here, do you think it could be an animal?" asked Mitsuko cautiously, approaching the sound.

"No way, no animal would come here. Hell even the plants won't grow here."

I grimaced and readied the spell as I walked up cautiously with Mitsuko.

I was surprised when Mitsuko pulled out a flashlight along with her sword but then remembered not everyone had senses as sharp as mine that let them see in the dark.

The noise had come from one of the smaller outlying buildings.

From what I remembered of the floor plan of the place it was just a few rooms. Their use had been lost to history but perhaps they were servant's quarters.

We entered into the darkness of the building. We could see daylight through cracks in the walls and ceiling and each step caused a loud creak of protest from the ancient floorboards underneath us.

I was grateful that this ancient building seemed to contain no spider. Still in this lifetime I had a serious case of Arachnophobia.

I took the lead since I could see in the dark and was the only one who could likely hurt whatever we found.

We traveled across the first room slowly cautiously as we approached the second we heard small footsteps running from the second room to the third.

We dashed through the open door way through the room into the third and final room.

I saw something behind what must have been the remains of furniture and rushed past it the words of power on my lips…

I was greeted with the trembling sight of a small white figure arms raised over its head protectively.

"Please… please don't hurt me." It begged.

Everything stopped as the words I was about to say were forgotten and the magical energy dissipated.

Before me was a tiny girl probably only 6 years old or so with long white hair in a tattered white gown.

The girl was quite visibly transparent but as she looked up at me with big pale blue eyes filled with fear and tears I couldn't help but feel like I was the monster.

Mitsuko gasped "Raven-san it's just a little girl." She said in surprise.

I knelt down before the trembling figure that huddled in the corner and extended my hand.

"I'm sorry we didn't mean to frighten you. My friends and I came here because this place is cursed. We don't mean you any harm.

She blinked at me, terror slowly fading from her eyes. A faint smile appeared on her pale lips as she reached up with her tiny hand to take mine and then it passed through it. It was a strange feeling, a faint cold but not an unpleasant feeling.

"Ah…" she said in surprise looking at her hand.

"Umm it's alright." I told her, forcing myself to smile "My name is Raven, what's yours?" I asked her.

She looked at her hand curiously and a little scared but slowly got to her feet on her own. Though I was short she managed to come up to my waist.

"Ah I… I don't remember. I remember I was here with Papa and Mama a long time ago… Then something happened and I went to sleep… I can't remember much since then.'

"Then they came…"

"Who are they?" I asked.

"They are bad things! They try and hurt me; I run from them and hide from them."

"What are they?"

"I don't know… They are black with claws and glowing red eyes." she said trembling.

I knelt down to talk to her face to face. "Well how about you stay with us and we will keep you safe alright?"

She smiled at that "Really, you'll protect me thank you!" she says reaching out to hug me but passing thru me.

"Ummm why… why can't I touch you." She blinked and looked up to me.

I sighed. I wasn't sure how to tell a little girl that she was dead.

"Well… you know how you fell asleep and then things became different." I said.

She nodded.

"Well you see after people fall asleep in the way you did, they lose their body and become like you are now."

"Ah if I can find my body can I be back to normal then?" she asked hopeful.

I frowned and shook my head "No I am sorry it doesn't work like that."

"Oh." She said looking down.

I smiled gently "It's alright we will figure things out together alright, and you won't have to be alone or scared anymore." I offered her.

She looked up and gave a bright smile. She was so adorable that it almost hurt… Daughteru acquired.

"Say you don't remember your name right?" I asked her.

She nodded.

"Well how about I give you one just until you remember? How would you like the name Yuki."

She blinked and then smiled and nodded.

"Ok Yuki it is."

"Hey everything alright in there?" called Kiku

I reached down to take the little girl's hand which of course my hand passed through hers I gave a slight frown remembering. It was so easy to forget.

"Yeah everything's alright we are coming out."

We did so and Kiku's jaw dropped as we brought the little ghost out.

"umm aren't we supposed to…" she began.

"Everyone, this is Yuki. She is our new friend and we are going to take care of her from now on." I explained a bit forcefully cutting off Kiku.

Inari gave a soft chuckle "So it's like that, is it?" She said kneeling down and saying hello to Yuki.

Yuki looked up at her wide eyed and tried to touch her ears and actually managed it. She giggled happily as Inari's ears twitched.

Inari smiled and picked up the little girl as Mitsuko and my Jaws simultaneously hit the floor.

Inari just smiled and looked over and pointed to herself "I'm a God" "I can touch spirits just fine. I don't have authority over them in this form but I can touch them."

"Well that's handy." Was all I could say.

"Say while we are doing… what we came here for Inari could you keep little Yuki safe. I don't want it to affect her."

She smiled and nodded "No problem."

"Well Yuki mentioned some black things with claws and red eyes that show up around here, any idea what those could be."

"Ah those sound like some very corrupted ghosts." Noted Kiku

"Ghosts? I'm scared of Ghosts." Stated Yuki she was looking frightened again.

"It's alright we will protect you." Inari told her softly.

"Wait she doesn't know?" Kiku asked me quietly.

"Not really." I said shaking my head.

She frowned and shook her head in understanding.

"Well I am going to have to purify myself for a bit if I am going to get to work on this. I'll go find a spot to perform my rituals. I'd appreciate it if you'd keep an eye on me just in case something decides to attack while I am preoccupied." Said Kiku said, finishing her cigarette, stomping it out on the ground to my chagrin and pulling a small blanket out from a backpack and spreading it out.

She set down the backpack then leaned down and smoothed the blanket out. Soon she was taking out times like incense and oils and setting them out on the blanket.

She dabbed herself with some oils and lit the incense before sitting down cross-legged on the blanket.

"This may take a few minutes then we can begin."

When you are in a creepy haunted place a few minutes can seem like an eternity even when you have magic powers.

I crossed my arms and waited. I almost jumped when I felt something wrap around my thigh I looked down to see Yuki holding my thigh looking up and giggling at me with a brilliant smile.

It took my brain a moment to figure out that there was something odd here about the little ghost girl suddenly being able to touch me.

"I gave her a little tip on how to use her energy." I heard Inari say looking up to see she had a rather smug grin. I gave a small laugh and smiled and nodded to Inari for the good job as I reach down and ruffled the little girl's hair.

Eventually Kiku straitened up and stretched "Alright I am getting ready to start, get ready for the shit to really hit the fan since what's here isn't likely to take kindly to this."

I told Yuki to go with Inari and I told Inari to look after her. Calling to mind the spells I had picked up from Kiku I held my breath and waited. The air felt heavy with anticipation.

Kiku began to chant and the air filled with power.

At first there was nothing.

Then there was a soft murmur around us that increased to a chorus of low groans.

Slowly but surely near the stone central building we saw a black claw emerge from the ground as the low groans started to turn in to growls of anger.

The claw grasped the ground and slowly at first a figure clawed its way out of the ground. Its face was skeletal It's eye sockets were empty save pinpricks of red light.

Slowly it emerged standing a couple heads larger than a man. Its body was humanoid but emaciated. Its ribs were clearly visible through tight jet black flesh.

"No! I will not leave. You can't have it, it's mine!" it roared.

I heard Yuki scream in fear looking over. I saw her clinging to Inari trembling as the goddess tried her best to sooth the little ghost.

I expected the ghost to rush at us. However it showed some intelligence rather than being a mindless animal.

It raised it's claws the Sky "All those souls who sleep here arise, you belong to me! Arise and destroy the intruders and add them to your number."

The air grew heavy around us, the feeling of wrongness increased as I began to look around

I started to see more black shapes begin to crawl out of the ground, they were all smaller than this thing but similar in appearance. As I looked around there were nearly a hundred of them by my best guess.

It was at this moment I realized that maybe I had underestimated things a bit.

I swore "Inari protect Yuki, Mitsuko please protect Kiku as best as you can. We just need to hold them off long enough for Kiku to do her thing."

I was more concerned about Mitsuko and Kiku than Inari or myself. I figured we could handle the ghosts even if we could only hold them off. However Kiku was just a normal human with magic and despite her training, skills and magic Mitsuko would likely run out of magic and be defenseless as well if this went on too long. I needed to do something to turn the tide.

As the oncoming swarm around us closed in I noticed that most of them were around human sized but a few of them were smaller. It almost made me sick to realize those were probably children.

Inari for her part made some sort of gesture and a half dozen beautiful silver haired women appeared in miko robes. Each had a fox's ears and multiple tails.

They weren't quite identical but all of them looked very similar, enough to be sisters. They were buxom with long flowing white hair, their eyes varied in color from green to blue. Each stood protectively around Inari where they appeared. They had an unmistakable air of confidence to them.

"Hold these corrupted ghosts off as long as you can." She ordered, there was no playfulness or smugness to her demeanor now. She seemed earnestly concerned and I admit that shook my confidence on what we were facing.

The six pale figures of the fox women moved without hesitation. I recognized some of the spells they threw. Some were variations of the ones Kiku had taught me. There were flashes of fire and light as the black tide of ghosts met their attacks and was pushed back. I could feel their collective power rippling through the air. I would say individually each was probably weaker than Kiku but they worked together flawlessly and mostly wordlessly with elegant movements as they pushed back the ghosts. I was slightly relieved that we had some back up and mentally figured we might just be able to hold out long enough.

Inari stepped up beside me. It seemed the horde was slowed at least by Kiku's efforts; we actually had a moment of peace before we faced them.

To my surprise she turned to me, took my face in her hands leaning in and gave me a deep kiss.

Her lips were soft and her tongue was hot and wet but her kiss wasn't playful or passionate it was rather forceful. I was surprised but then information started to fill me about ghosts.

Most of what Kiku had said matched up to the information I gained from Inari. These ghosts were horribly corrupted. Something terrible had happened on this land previously and either the land itself or some item was keeping them here.

I had confirmed that physical and magical attacks would do little to a ghost that spiritual attacks would only work and even they wouldn't have a permanent effect until we found the source of the haunting.

Our lips parted and I was sure I could feel my heart pounding and the warmth in my cheeks. I have to admit that the knowledge transfer due to my high magic resistance was a little… awkward.

The ghosts were almost upon us now and I was sure there was not much we could do to actually hold them off for long.

I swore softly to myself as the black figures approached. Who doesn't hate an escort mission? Our job was simple, all we had to do was to keep things busy until Kiku finished her spell and banished all of these ghosts… that and stay alive.

It was an oncoming tide of black before me. My mind automatically shifted to the spells Kiku had taught me. Flashes of divine light met the tide of darkness and the tide broke upon the light. The black figures dissipated though I knew they wouldn't be gone long.

Mitsuko for her part moved up beside me. She had her replica Kusanagi sword drawn. With a single swing she unleashed a powerful burst of wind that actually managed to blow a large chunk of the horde back. Even if it did little to hurt them at least they were being delayed and scattered.

"Raven" I heard Kiku's voice calling from behind me. I spared a second to look back to see an obviously stressed looking Kiku "I am sorry I can't do it. Something is keeping these spirits here. I thought it was the land that was cursed but It' not. There is some item. I can sense it now. It should be somewhere under the big ghost but until we get rid of it there is nothing I can do." She said.

"Mitsuko" I called "Use your sword to clear me a path to the big ghost."

Mitsuko stepped forward, long hair blowing in the wind as she raised her sword high and brought it down in a powerful arc.

The winds twisted and turned and formed a small tornado that barreled through the reforming groups of ghosts sucking them in and flinging them away.

The tornado only lasted for a moment but it was long enough there was a gap.

Still blessed with the strength and speed stolen from the water serpent I had fought I ran.

With serpentine grace I strode across the battlefield and arrived at the Ghost in a fraction of an instant.

The pinpricks of red light in its eye sockets grew brighter as if its eyes were widening in surprise.

Before I knew it the words of power were on my lips and holy light washed over the creature which screamed and stumbled back.

Its scream turned to a roar of anger "No you can't have it, it's MINE!" it said with a fury clearly born of obsession and madness.

"I don't want it. I want the land you can take whatever it is and go."

"No you lie; you're trying to trick me." It said then seemed to open its mouth wide as it regurgitated a torrent of black stuff at me.

I just barely rolled out of the way.

"You can't take it from me it's mine!" It roared as it motioned with its arms and suddenly large chunks of the wall were flying at me.

I called up hunter of immortals, my shapeshifting authority having it take the shape of a shovel and swung it wide in front of me, sundering the pieces of walls flying at me.

"The treasure is mine! I killed for it! I died for it! No one can have it!" It roared.

"Okay." I answered simply.

That gave it pause: "You're lying."

"No the treasure is yours I'll dig it up I'll send it where you want it's fine I don't want it."

It paused and looked at me. My sharp senses detected the sounds of battle dieing down behind me.

"You're going to have to tell me this though… Why do you want it?"

"It's MINE!" it shouted.

"Yeah I get that but what are you going to do with it, stand over it, guard it for eternity?"

"It-It's Mine."

"Yeah but to you it might as well be a pile of rocks. You can't spend it."

It paused crooking its head.

"Look I know everyone wants to be rich, they have dreams of being wealthy. However it's always what they would do with the wealth that has meaning not the items themselves."

"That-that's right…. I had a family…. I had dreams… and they were all taken from me." It said its anger was growing.

"I am sorry but there is nothing that can be done about that now. Now you are just hurting innocent people now. Whoever killed you for this treasure is gone."

It paused and looked down seeming deep in thought.

"Hell I know what it is to be obsessed and stuck on something but really your just hurting yourself now. Aren't you tired don't you want to move on?"

"Move on?"

"Yeah so hopefully you can see your family again."

"My family… Move on." It repeated numbly. Somehow it seemed tired and noticed it was slowly changing. It's skin was growing paler it's shape shrinking and filling out. Soon an ordinary man stood before me. He looked a bit haggard, an average man with black, graying hair, deep brown eyes and olive colored skin. His clothes looked tattered and from a much earlier age.

"Yes I want to move on. Thank you I think I will." He said finally before vanishing.

It was amazing but with that the pressure in the air seemed to vanish. I was able to breathe easier and relax. As I looked around I noticed the other ghosts had stopped and were now changing, a couple of them were moving towards the group. It was a man and a woman.

Both looked to be in their mid-thirties and wore clothes from what I would estimate was a couple hundred years ago. The man was tall with dark hair and dark eyes. The woman had a familiar white colored hair and pale blue eyes.

Little Yuki ran up to them crying "Mommy! Daddy!" and embraced them both. They both kneeled down and hugged her.

Through my absurd senses I was able to make out their conversation. "Ah my darling I missed you so much. We were under the control of that thing for so long." Yuki's mother said.

"Oh my Darling little girl I am so sorry we couldn't do anything to help you. I am sorry we left you all alone." Added Yuki's Father.

Yuki seemed to relax, smiling up at both of them with tears in her eyes. "It's alright you're here now. I missed you so much please never leave me again." She pleaded.

"I am sorry but our time here is up. We will always be with you but we can't stay in this world much longer." Her mother told her.

Yuki clung to her parents tightly as if to will them to stay in this world "no please don't leave me again!"

"We aren't leaving you and we will never be apart again but we can't stay in this world. Though you may not be able to see us know that we are with you wherever you're going. "Her father said, kneeling down to face his daughter, tears in his eyes.

"Really, you're not leaving me?" He smiled and nodded as did his wife. Both knelt hugging the little girl who hugged them back.

I found tears in my eyes as I watched, the couple she was clinging to slowly began to fade until it was just Yuki there alone wiping her eyes with her tattered sleeve.

I quietly hoped to myself that a certain drawback I took hadn't kept her in this world.

I walked up and knelt down to look her in the eyes "Are you going to be ok?"

She blinked and smiled brightly "I can still feel them. They are still here with me." She said brightly. I gave her a hug "Good. Say I said I wouldn't leave you alone would you like to come with me?" I asked her?

She blinked and then nodded.

Ghost Daughteru Getto.

I ruffled her hair which caused her to giggle then got up and went to the spot where the main ghost had been standing.

It was at that time Inari turned to girls that she had summoned. She thanked them for their assistance. She spoke with each of them in turn. Somehow I wasn't surprised when each one seemed pleased to have been able to help their god. They said their goodbyes and with a quick gesture the girls vanished.

Digging even with a magic shovel and super strength… just isn't fun. In fact it was a pain in the ass.

I don't know how long it took before my shovel hit something. All I know was it was fairly deep and I was starting to wonder if I had the wrong place.

It was nice at least to get confirmation as I scraped the dirt off of the wood and continued digging.

A while later and even more effort expended, we were dragging up a huge heavy wooden box.

The box was old. I was amazed it was holding together to be honest.

It was locked by a crude lock that my shovel quickly broke.

The rusted hinges gave a slight squeak as it opened and we were staring at more ancient coins than I could count. Truly it was a fortune. The coins were Mon, the currency used before the yen.

It elicited a whistle from Kiku "Well shit, it looks like we found pirate treasure."

"Wow… there is a lot there." Even the reserved Mitsuko commented.

Inari for her part just wrapped an arm around me and squeezed.

I gave a deep breath. It was indeed a fortune. It was strange in both lives shortly before what had happened with being a campione and meeting Inari. I would have been thrilled. Dreams of the wonders I could do with such a fortune would be dancing through my head.

Now it was just… more.

I was slightly shocked but getting more money wasn't making me any happier. That's when I got an Idea.

"Say Mitsuko, Kiku, You two did a hell of a job in fighting off all these ghosts and helping me claim this land. How would you like a share of whatever I get?"

"What?" was the response from both of them.

"A share you can have a third of whatever we sell this for."

"Well shit yeah! I mean. Thank you!" said Kiku, running up and trying to hug me only to draw the glare of Inari.

She looked slightly annoyed by that.

Mitsuko for her part just stood there eyes watering, fighting not to cry and trying to maintain her usual demeanor.

"That-that is not necessary Raven-san I merely did what was my duty." She said though I could tell that refusing this was difficult for her.

"Nonsense. It's my choice. Inari doesn't need a share and I really don't need that much anyways but you have a family you're helping out and I am sure Kiku could do with a new car or house maybe."

"Fuck yeah that sounds awesome." said Kiku in agreement.

"Very well if this is your decision." Mitsuki said, her voice breaking up.

"Well the treasure is yours by right, what you do with it is up to you. If you wish to share it so be it" Said Inari. I could tell she didn't necessarily agree with my idea but wasn't going to push.

"Alright then I'll just turn this over to a museum because I don't know the laws for finding buried treasure in Japan but I should get quite a hefty reward. As I said you guys get a share too."

I suddenly found myself crushed in a tight hug. It took my brain a moment to register that it was Mitsuko hugging me.

The taller woman in the maid outfit hugged me for a moment then her eyes blinked and widened and she gave a cute eep and backed away "Ah Sorry Raven-san I just…"

"It's alright Mitsuko I understand." I told her with a smile.

I could feel the raising of a murderous aura from behind me and didn't have to turn around to realize that Inari had found that inappropriate.

"Well Damn the Samurai maid girl beat me to the punch and it looks like that grumpy old fox isn't too keen on allowing any showing of affection." noted Kiku. "Well just know this means a lot to me and I hope we can work together again or just hang out sometime. Though next time maybe you should leave the fox at home." Kiku added

Inari cleared her throat and I turned to look at her. Her arms were crossed and she had a faint frown on her face "Well I believe that takes care of why we were here. Why don't we start collecting our things so we can leave?" She said. I could see her eyeing the two other girls.

I had to wonder then if what I had done was such a good thing. I had the drawback that made girls crazy and possessive and I am pretty sure I had just set up some problems between Inari, Mitsuko and Kiku. What was it that someone said about more than one waifu ruining your lifu?

Not that I was even trying to Waifu the other girls. Why did I take that harem perk? Okay, I was desperate to be desired. Damn my insecurities.

It wasn't long before we had gathered up our stuff. Yuki hung close to me and Inari as we left. Somehow I felt like we had been adopted as parents.
