What the fuck! Percy shouted, restraining from jumping a foot in the air when he finally noticed the glowing image above their head.
Are they not seeing this! Harry stared as the goblin just kept talking about their vaults even as he seemed to be staring right at the trident.
Uh, the mist! That's right. It keeps the like normal people from seeing stuff or something, Percy commented, watching as the trident dissolved into sea green sparks. They were the same color as his eye.
Right. BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP THE REVELATION THAT YOU ARE A SON OF POSEIDON! Harry shouted. AND THAT MEANS I AM TOO!
Ow, my ears, At Harry's glare Percy quickly continued. Er, well it's not like we can do anything about this!
"...so, young sir, do you agree to claim your heirship, scion, and lordship rings?" Ranook finished his monolouge, shuffling his papers around.
"Yes, Master Ranook", Percy hastily replied, making sure his poker face was still in place.
Not noticing his sudden panic, Ranook reached under his desk, pulling out 7 rings.
"The Four Founder rings will join together as one ring while the Jackson, Di Angelo, and Grace rings will do the same", Master Ranook said. "Just place the four rings on your fourth finger of your right hand and they will join". He handed over the founder rings.
Having finally calmed down, Percy took the rings, "Thank you". He slid them on, one after the other and as the bands adjusted to his skinny fingers, they merged into one ring.
"The other three rings will be put on your little finger of your left hand", Master Ranook held them out.
Percy once again dropped the rings on his finger and as expected, they adjusted and merged.
Willing both rings to be invisible, they disappeared, making it look like they were never even there in the first place.
I wonder why my name didn't show up on the blood test page, Percy mused, checking out his and Harry's new rings. We are one person after all.
But since our souls haven't merged, our blood hasn't either, Harry replied. I'm not sure why but I suppose the less people who know the soul situation the better.
Right, Percy nodded.
"Young sir, to complete your emancipation, you must choose a new House and last name for yourself", Master Ranook said, pulling them out of their conversation.
We should change our first name too, Harry suggested. Percy nodded.
He asked, "May I also choose a new first name for myself?". He and Harry did not at all want to be recognized as the disowned brother of the Boy-Who-Lived when they went to Hogwarts sometime in the next two months. That would be torture.
"Of course", Master Ranook drew up some papers. "You can change your name by filling these out".
Percy nodded, sliding the papers over to him.
A few minutes later, Percy and Harry's name was now Perseus Harrison Jackson, Lord of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Jackson.
Master Ranook checked over their paper and nodded in approval, "There are just a few more things to confirm Lord Jackson. First is, would you like to appoint a proxy to vote in your Wizengamot seats?".
Percy shook his head, "I would like to familiarize myself with the laws they are debating at the moment before appointing a proxy". Percy and Harry didn't have access to the debated laws of the Wizengamot before although they practically ate the entire law book for breakfast one morning and were very familiar with the ones already passed.
Ranook nodded in understanding, "Well last order of business, would you like to visit your vaults?".
Percy once again rejected the offer. He and Harry agreed that, even though most of them were dead, it felt wrong to be taking money from people that didn't do anything to them, "No, Master. But as an emancipated minor, I am able to open another vault correct?" Percy asked.
"Indeed Lord Jackson".
"Then I would like to place this in a vault opened under my name", Percy took out a shrunken box with a pile of galleons, sickles, and knuts in it. "Take your payment, Master Ranook".
Mr P. Jackson
Room #4
The Leaky Cauldron
The ancient-looking piece of parchment was dropped right into the oatmeal Percy and Harry were eating for breakfast.
It was a month after they two of them became Perseus Harrison Potter and they were loving it.
They were able to go to Diagon Alley anytime they wished and were even able to buy Dark Arts books from Knockturn Alley. It helped that they were able to brew an aging potion with their newly bought potions set and the store owner was more than happy to accommodate them.
And now they received their Hogwarts letter.
Overall, they were excited to be meeting new people but at the same time they felt just kinda... eh about the situation.
Whatever, it was required to get a magical education so it wasn't like they had a choice.
We've already bought all the books and supplies, Harry went over the checklist attached to the bottom of the parchment. We just need to get robes from Madam Malkins.
We'll go after training, Percy said as Harry stood up, brushing off the invisible crumbs on his shirt.
He nodded.
"Hogwarts too dear?" A plump woman, who Percy and Harry assumed was Madam Malkins, asked as Harry stepped into the shop.
"Yes", he replied.
"Go stand over there next to that young man. He's going to Hogwarts too", Harry and Percy looked over to see a blonde-haired, gray-eyed boy standing on a wooden stool.
Stepping onto the stool right next to him, Harry and Percy waited for Madam Malkins to come to them. They recognized the boy next to them as a Malfoy.
"Are you going to Hogwarts too?" the Malfoy boy had a pompous, arrogant tone that Percy and Harry didn't like, but they weren't about to pretentious and judge him this early.
"Yes", Harry replied as Madam Malkins bustled over.
"What House do you think you'll be in? I'll obviously be in Slytherin. My whole family's been there", Malfoy continued.
"I think I'll either be in Gryffindor or Slytherin but I hope for Slytherin", Harry replied. It was true. Percy was way too impulsive and reckless but Harry knew he wouldn't sacrifice him or his friends for the world. On the other hand, Harry was way too noble and wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice himself and maybe his friends for the good of humanity. But, he was more calculating and didn't rush into things. Despite their differences, both were cunning bastards.
Malfoy shuddered, "Yes you should hope for Slytherin. Imagine going to Gryffindor!".
Harry nodded.
"Your parents were our people weren't they?" Malfoy suddenly asked after a few seconds.
Percy and Harry, not at all caring about this blood purity issue just replied, "They were".
Malfoy didn't say any more about that, probably assuming they died. Well whatever, their former parents were dead to them anyways.
"Who are you by the way?" Malfoy asked after another pause, finally realizing he didn't even know the identity of the person he was talking to.
"Heir Perseus Harrison Jackson of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Jackson", Harry held out his hand to shake as was custom. Malfoy didn't need to know they were emancipated. To Malfoy they were Heir.
"Heir Draconis Lucius Malfoy of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Malfoy", Draco replied, taking Harry's hand.
As soon as they shook, Madam Malkins stepped back, "You're all done dear".
"Goodbye Heir Malfoy, see you on Platform 9 and 3/4", Harry waved. Draco seemed like an ok person.
