AN: ATTENTION! I felt that the original Chapter three was too rushed, so I rewrote it. This is a continuation of that chapter being split into two so re-read three before coming back to this to avoid confusion.
AN2: Also, I mention a group called the 'acquisition division' in this chapter and for those who've only seen the movie yes, they are canon, as are what they do that I stated.
AN3: Hey everybody, it feels good to get back to this story and I've admittedly been on a Star Wars kick recently. I played Star Wars: Fallen Order, FINALLY started watching the Clone Wars TV show, am looking to find a copy of The Force Unleashed (as mine went missing apparently) and so on. This kick has given me an idea for a future Star Wars crossover with RWBY (once I've finished a few more stories of course) so I thought I'd tease that concept here. Mwahahaha. It's also in part because I'm really fond of the design for Darth Talon and Darth Atroxa and I'm kind of sad I hadn't found them BEFORE I began my two current Star Wars story as I'd love to use one of them for the pairing. So that will also be a factor for the RWBY crossover that will come eventually.
The Force of Fire
Chapter 4
"By the force." Panaka approached Percy, staring wide eyed at the weapon in Percy's hands "Percy, is that the 'project' you were working on?"
"One in the same." Percy nodded, pulling Padme and Marris to their feet as he saw the Jedi approaching along with the Gungan, "I've spent years collecting the pieces I needed and with that trip to Mustafar I was finally able to make I got the last bits I needed."
"I was unaware the council had sent another Knight to aide Naboo." The elder of the two Jedi spoke up as they approached, "And one I don't recognize. I am Master Qui-Gon Jinn, and this is my Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi."
"I'm no Knight of your order." Percy shook his head as head as he started prying the weapons from the hands of the dead droids for their group to use.
"But you used the force," Obi-Wan spoke up in protest, his forehead crinkling in confusion "and you carry a lightsaber."
"Look Kenobi, I'm not part of your Order. Never have and never will be." Percy gave the padawan a hard look, "I've taught myself what I know of the force and worked over the past several years to make my lightsaber. Right now though my only focus is getting my people away from these Trade Federation bastards."
"Aptly put." Qui-Gon nodded, to the surprise of both Percy and Obi-Wan, "We really should leave the streets your Highness, they aren't safe."
"I can assume negotiations failed then?" Thane Bibble asked irritably to the two Jedi, the old man holding a blaster and looked ready to use it.
"Negotiations never took place." The Jedi Master shook his head in confused irritation, "They attempted to kill us with poison gas and a droid attack." With that shared, the Jedi turned to Panaka "We need to get off this planet, do you have transport hangars nearby?"
"The main Hangar." Panaka nodded, "Percy, looks like you're getting that mission now, but we don't need an engineer."
"You need a killer." Percy grunted, face set in stone as he handed Marris over to Padme, "To keep Padme and Marris safe? To get back at the bastard who made my little girl cry? You have one."
-Qui-Gon-
Having sent Obi-Wan to the back of their group to watch for anyone following or finding them, Qui-Gon walked beside this 'Percy' fellow that had shown at least some ability in the Force. "Go ahead." The man in question spoke up as they stalked through the halls to the main hangar, the man's lightsaber clenched tight in a fist.
"I beg your pardon?" Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow to the man who, while had obvious rage pouring off him in waves, didn't feel Dark to him.
"I can feel that you want to ask questions so go ahead." Percy's fist shook slightly and Qui-Gon could tell the man was working to control himself, possibly seeing the notion of answering questions a suitable distraction from his rage to help in said endeavor.
"You said you're not part of the order, but you show at least a modicum of power in the Force. Children in the Republic are tested at birth for any connection to the force." Qui-Gon didn't mention that the acquisition division would then subsequently take the children away from their parents, many of the seekers not bothering to acquire the parent's permission as Republic law allowed the Jedi order to take any child with a sufficiently high midichlorian count. It was only years of training in the Jedi ways that helped him keep his distaste for said practice from his expression.
"I wasn't born in the republic." Percy scoffed, "So your order of mystic monks wouldn't have found me or my daughter."
"And you say you're self-taught?" Qui-Gon remembered overhearing that earlier, "That's impressive." At the younger man's confused expression at Qui-Gon not rising to the bait and even offering a compliment.
"Um…thank you?" this conversation clearly wasn't going the way Percy had expected.
"And your lightsaber? I've never seen a blade look quite like yours does. And you said it took years to make? How did you even know how to make one?"
"I've been travelling around for the past five years." Percy shrugged, "Making money and gathering resources. I found a few crashed ships by following my gut and three lost lightsabers in said relics. I disassembled two of them to learn how they were made and used what parts I could from those two to make mine along with others I collected. The hardest part was finding the crystals."
"Did you use any special ones?" Qui-Gon had a feeling that was the case given the unusual appearance of the blade.
"I carved the lenses out of Dragite Crystals and Barab Ingots." Percy listed, sounding proud of the weapon he had made, "The main crystals are all Mustafar lava crystals."
"All of those are very hard to come by." Qui-Gon gave the weapon an appreciative glance "And to make the lenses out of crystals most would use for powering the saber itself is quite intriguing. And Lava crystals usually make a dense blade that drips with magma, I assume that your Dragite crystal lenses help keep the weapon contained?"
"You're well informed." Percy nodded in respect at the deduction.
"I'm one of the best duelists among the Jedi Order currently." Qui-Gon explained, "I take my lightsaber training seriously and if the knowledge would help me maintain my weapon I sought it out." A final glance let him notice a second emitter on the weapon before they got to the Hangar door, a glance through it showed several B1 battle droids holding a team of Pilots and guards hostage.
"Damn, there's too many." The guard captain frowned, having joined himself and Percy at the head of the contingent, "We won't be able to take them out without risking the hostages."
"Normally yes but if there is a great enough threat, the droids will focus on them since everyone else is unarmed." Qui-Gon shook his head, "There's no one from the trade federation here to give specific orders and these droids aren't complex enough to think of something like this on their own."
"What are you saying? That we just charge in blaster's firing?" The captain gaped at him.
"No, he's saying one of us goes in aggressively and becomes a priority target while the others get the captives onto the cruiser." Percy realizes, pointing to the ship in question "I'll take point." With that, Percy marched straight into the hanger before Qui-Gon could correct him with his actual plan.
"That wasn't what I meant at all." Qui-Gon scowled but knew that at this point Percy's plan was the only one they could do, moving quickly and keeping their weapons sheathed while the droids focused on taking out Percy who was using his now double-bladed lightsaber quite proficiently.
"Hey, who's over there?" One of the droids shouted when it noticed their group and that some with them had Blasters, "Open fire!" quickly, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were deflecting blaster bolts fired at the young Queen, her guard captain and the old Thane firing back in turn. Then, Qui-Gon saw blaster bolts heading towards one of the handmaidens and Percy's daughter, the handmaiden in question holding a blaster as well and there was no way for himself or Obi-Wan to get there in time to shield them while still protecting the queen.
"NO!" Percy's shout actually shook the ground as the man rocketed forward, clearly propelled by the force itself as Percy's lightsaber split into two to deflect the bolts away from the two women and leaving himself open in the process, a few bolts impacting him with grazing shots as he dropped in pain but thankfully alive.
"DADDY!" the little Zabrak girl cried out as she clutched at her father's thrashing body.
"Keep firing!" the droid commander shouted to the few remaining B1's left, "Take them out!"
"Leave...us…alone!" the little girl screamed again as the force reacted wildly to her chaotic emotions, the droids finding themselves forcibly slowed down as they were quickly destroyed.
"Get him inside the medical bay now!" the captain shouted angrily to the freed captives, pointing to Percy, "And grab any intact droid you can carry!" letting the men follow those Orders, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan went with the queen to the bridge as the pilots began the take off sequence.
-Percy-
Gritting his teeth, Percy forced himself not to grab at the wounds on his sides, his fire immunity having done nothing against the plasma of the blaster bolts. "Hang in there Percy, you're going to be all right." Padme promised as she held one of his hands tightly, the other in the vice like grip of little Marris who kept tearfully begging him to be okay.
"Girls, I need my hands." Percy forced out as he sat up, the few medic droids on the ship having yet to power on. Once he had regained them, Percy bit back a scream as he filled his palms with fire and grabbed each of the wounds, his breathing turning easier as the fire healed him much like water once had.
"W-what?" Padme gaped in shock as she reached out, running fingers along smooth undamaged skin, her touch causing Percy to shiver and flush.
"Y-you're okay?" Marris sniffled.
"Yeah sweetie," Percy pulled his little girl into an embrace and kissed her forehead softly "Daddy's okay."
"How?" Padme demanded stunned, "I knew you had the force but…but this?"
"A guy has to have some secrets to keep pretty girls interested." Percy forced out a chuckle as he made a weak joke, "I'd just end up being boring otherwise." Padme's response was a sharp slap across the face.
"Marris, step outside please." Padme forced out, "I need to have a word with your father." Seeing her hesitate, Percy gave a nod and watched the little nine-year-old Zabrak slip out. "Why Percy?" Padme demanded shakily the second the door closed behind Marris, "Why do yo keep doing this? You threw yourself in danger like you always do and you don't even seem to care!"
"Padme, you and Marris mean everything to me." Percy forced himself to sit up, looking into the eyes of the woman he had been falling in love with over the past five years "I lost everything when you found me. I'd been betrayed and abandoned, tossed away from everything I knew. You became my rock, and then Marris came into my life. If throwing my life away would save either of yours I'd do it in a heartbeat."
"Don't!" Padme shouted at him, eyes wide and fearful, "Don't you say that, don't you ever say that! I can't lose you. Not…not like I lost them! I can't!" knowing she meant her parents, seeing the woman he loved starting to break down, Percy pulled her into his arms and heled her close. As her shaking and tears slowly started to slide away, Padme looked up into his eyes. The room was still and silent for a moment before they both leaned in, their lips meeting in a slow first kiss. As Percy wrapped his arms around her, deepening their embrace, neither saw the door that had been cracked open close shut again, a now happy Marris skipping away down the halls.
