"Into the flood again, same old trip it was back then"

Red has entered the forgotten crossroads, and landed on someone. Besides that, will he be able to fend off the remnants of a fallen kingdom? Will he get infected?

(Red's POV)

Thud

I forgot to look down, landed on someone. I quickly scrambled off of them.

"Sorry...I didn't look down," I couldn't hide the sheepish tone in my voice. "You alright?"

They didn't say anything they just stared blankly at him while getting up. It gave him sometime to take a look at them. Blue-grey cloak, pretty tattered, a horned helmet, mask thing, and a sword that looked like it didn't have a hilt or pommel on it. They were about to my stomach in terms of height.

"Uhmm, c-can you make it up on your own?" I was kinda worried now.

They nodded at that, and went to make their way up. They stopped at the last second and looked at me, almost expectantly. I'm gonna call them knight, they seem kinda knightly.

I just stood staring back. Knight went and started tugging on my sleeve, they want me to follow them?

"You want me to follow?"

They nodded.

"B-but I just got down here!" I ain't going back without a reason to.

They just shrugged, and when I went down the path to...wherever knight started following behind me. I ain't gonna complain about a travel buddy.

Ok this place is kinda dull, there were some 'little' bugs scurrying around but they weren't all that scary nor dangerous. There were some ruins here and there, must've been an interesting place way back.

"Y'know it's nice to have someone around, even if you can't speak," I'm being genuine. "You'll listen, understand, and having someone who'll listen is enough."

Knight seemed to take that well, they patted my arm.

Wheeze

What in the literal banana heck was that? That wasn't a normal wheeze. Sounded like a death rattle or something, just not normal.

I turned a corner and saw a bug person...they look dead, orange eyes, and they're walking around.

It turned to me and ran towards me, Knight was distracted by something, ok I got this. When it got close to me I grabbed it's head and slammed it into a jagged looking rock. It's head exploded in orange gooey gunk, some of it got in my eyes.

"Aw fffffffrick!" best not to swear near someone who's around the size of a kid, they might be a kid.

I wiped it out of my eyes, I really this doesn't get me sick or anything like that. I felt someone tug on my long coat, I look down and see Knight tugging on it. They cocked their head.

"Everything's fine, just got some stuff in my eyes" I wasn't lying.

Ok, so this place went from boring and kinda spooky to some kinda zombie movie. These bug people are...they're more like husks filled with orange.

After a bit I saw a bench, Knight towards it probably wanting a rest. I sat down on the bench a bit after they sat down. I felt my eyes get heavy, sleep didn't seem like a good idea but it ambushed me...maybe a bit of rest won't hurt.

Well Red and Little Ghost (or should I say Knight?) met each other, Red killed a husk. Some funky orange stuff got in Red's eyes, and now he's asleep.
