The rest of the Sorting went smoothly after that.

"Potter, Charlus!" got plenty of clapping, cheering, and whispering when he got sorted in Gryffindor but that was the only other abnormality.

Slytherin table spared Harry and Percy a distrustful, curious glance before focusing on the rest of the Sorting. They were probably going to try to ask about it later.

"Percy", Draco plopped into a seat next to them once he was sorted. It had taken less than a second for him to go to Slytherin.

"Draco", Percy replied. The Sorting soon finished with Blaise Zabini in Slytherin.

Percy and Harry could tell Draco was curious on what made the Sorting Hat fall off but like a good Slytherin he didn't ask. At least, he didn't ask straight up.

"My Sorting had only taken a second", Draco said, trying to make Percy and Harry spill about their own Sorting, Well, they could of course, talk about it a little.

"Yup, seems like you were born a snake", Percy replied. "The Sorting Hat couldn't decide between Gryffindor and Slytherin for me".

Some heads snapped up at the statement before a girl whose face vaguely resembled a pug spoke up, "So you're half Gryffindor?" She sneered.

Percy rolled his eyes, "Sure".

"And what did the Sorting Hat say?" Draco prompted. He already knew that Percy and Harry had a good chance of getting into the Lion Den. He still wanted to know why the hat had fallen off.

Percy shrugged.

The feast started after Dumbledore showed everyone how much of a loon he was. Though there was the note of a third corridor which was interesting. Percy and Harry could already see a certain pair of twins sharing sly grins. Whatever, Harry and Percy were planning to check it out soon as well. And after a dreadfully loud school song, Harry and Percy followed the rest of the Slytherins up to their dorms.

Percy, Harry whispered. Percy wake up.

5 more minutes, Percy replied.

Huffing, Harry nudged Percy in his mind and then gave him the equivalent of a slap.

ALRIGHT I'M UP, Percy grumbled, finally opening the eye on his side of his face.

Come on, we have class in 4 hours, Harry said, getting out of bed.

FOUR HOURS. That is so much time! Why'd you wake me up now! Percy whined. We could have at least woken up at 6!

Rolling his eye, Harry ignored his soul twin's protests as he neatly made the bed. Don't you want to explore the third corridor. Your bloody annoying self couldn't shut up about it yesterday.

Oh yeah, let's do that, Percy said, immediately brightening up.

It took Percy and Harry a while but they eventually found the third corridor. It was dark and empty with no soul in sight, as it should be.

C'mon, let's go in! Percy shouted but Harry didn't move.

Why are you such a Gryffindor, Harry snorted. If Percy was controlling the body now, they would probably both be dead.

You are one just as much as me! Percy rolled his eye.

Well, I'm casting detection wards. Dumbledore said we would face an imminent death for a reason if we came here, Harry replied. Though... I wonder why he said that. It would probably make people want to check out the corridor as opposed to... not doing that.

Eloquent, Percy snorted but turned complentative. Yes... I wonder.

Whatever, we'll think about this later, Harry pulled out their wand and started waving it around, casting a detection spell. He was surprised to see that the first spell he cast was able to tell him what was behind the door.

Ok, there is a creature behind the door, some kind of dog and... OH MERLIN IT IS A CERBERUS.

Percy jumped at the sudden change of tone before his eye widened, A WHAT?

CERBERUS! Harry said once again, unconsciously backing away from the door.

Oh dear, Percy said.

Well, at least we know whatever it is guarding has good protections, Harry said. Also, we are reading about magical creatures today. I want to know what the Cerberus is guarding.

Agreed, Percy replied.

Doing exactly what they said they would do, Harry and Percy spent the next hour looking for anything about defeating a Cerberus. Most were unhelpful as Cerberus's were rare and dangerous but there was one book that Percy found that certain breeds of Cerberus fall asleep to music or could be lured away from something if there was sufficient food used as bait.

Percy and Harry were able to make a plan of action and sometime later today, they would go back to the third corridor, find out what wards were on the door and put some musical instruments behind it. Then they would check if it was asleep and if it wasn't, they will just run away and lock the door. But Percy and Harry will practice their Stupefy!s in case.

The first day of lessons were boring. It was mostly theory and practicing wand movement and the only class that seemed interesting was Potions with Sevvie but that was on Friday.

It was at one point during Charms class when Percy suddenly wondered, Does Severus know that we're here?

Harry could not answer him.

Oh well, it didn't really matter much at the moment but they will try to visit Severus sometime during the week.

Now for Operation Get-Past-Cerberus-And-Find-Out-What-It-Is-Guarding.-Percy-And-Harry-Really-Should-Stop-Using-So-Many-Hyphens-This-Phrase-Is-Becoming-A-Monstrosity.
