Chapter 1
"HHOORRRAAAA"
Looking down the barrel of my scope, I see a brown-haired guy yelling at a vaguely familiar blue-haired girl to stop as she is running towards a giant frog with her fist raised at it, spouting out something about feeling the wrath of a female goddess who's been scorned or something. At the same time, her hand glows a fiery gold and red.
"Now I could shoot the toad or let this play out and get a good laugh out of it," I muse as I watch the girl get into striking distance and shout her skill as her attack lands. "Yeah, let's watch."
"[God Blow]" When her fist impacts the frog, its belly has a rippling effect as well as a deafening impact because the area is now completely silent. Cocking my rifle, I wait for the perfect time for the frog to attack as it stares at her as if she's the dumbest person on the planet.
"N-Now that I think about it, frogs are pretty cute up close." As the frog leans down to chew on the girl, I dome the frog with a crack filling the air as the frog slumps and falls to the side dead with a bullet-sized hole going through its head with the girl still trapped inside its mouth crying out in shock.
I get up from my spot on a random hill and sling my rifle over my back as I walk towards them. As I get closer, I see the guy frantically pulling the girl out as he looks everywhere for whoever made that shot with the girl making a very audible wail that is making some of the frogs that are further out turn towards the noise she is making.
"Yo, you guys ok?" The guy snaps towards me in surprise as he didn't hear me approach, and the girl opens her eyes to look at me even tho she's still crying. "Looked like you guys could use some help."
"T-Thank you so much." The girl hiccups out her thanks while the guy makes sure she's ok before inching away from her and covering his nose. "T-The goddess A-aqua thanks you." And that's all I was able to understand because she devolved back into tears and unintelligible mumbles.
As I turn to the guy to introduce myself, I stop as what she says entirely catches up to me. "Wait, wait, Aqua, the water goddess Aqua? The goddess that sends dead people to fight for the gods?" They both looked at me in surprise as I finished with my questions.
The girl stops crying at this point, getting up on shaky legs, and starts talking. "H-How do you know that? Who are you?"
"Oh right," I shift my rifle before holding out a cloth to the now named Aqua, and she takes it and begins wiping her face off. "I haven't introduced myself, I am Kiritsugu Emiya, but you can just call me Kiri or Father Emiya."
After looking for a few seconds, the guy answers, "Uh, I'm Kazuma Satou. Nice to meet you; how do you know about Aqua?"
Before I answer, I look at the frogs hopping towards us. "Why don't we head back to the guild and discuss this with the frogs." They both look around before nodding, and we leave the area.
After spending some time cleaning, we sit in silence, waiting for our food to be delivered. To pass the time, I pulled out the rifle and began looking it over, making sure it's in perfect condition even though I already know that the gun will never malfunction. Glancing up at the other two, I see Kazuma trying to say something but can't find the words and Aqua rambling about the frogs.
"Here you are, Father Emiya, your order." The waitress comes over and puts down our orders, then walks away.
"So you don't look like a priest. Why do they call you Father Emiya?" Pulling down some of the bandages to show my mouth, I look at them.
"It's an inside joke between a thief and me that everyone just runs with, don't worry about it." As I start eating a frog leg, Aqua perks up from my reply and excitedly begins talking.
"You're a priest, huh? What is your faith? I bet it's the Axis church, right? You must be so grateful that I sent you here that you decided to worship me, right? I'm right, aren't I?" She sounds so sure of herself I kind of feel bad that I'm about to burst her bubble.
"Actually, it's the Eris faith. As much as I like the Axis church for their… "uniqueness," I'm not ready to join them yet." Watching Aqua visibly deflate and start grumbling about a goddess who pads her chest is very amusing to watch. Though as I take a drink of ale, I notice Kazuma realizing something.
"Wait, you were brought here by Aqua as well?"
"Oh yea, I got here about 5-6 years ago? Yea, around that time, I got sent here by Aqua. Thanks for that, by the way." After giving her my thanks, Aqua starts beaming with pride, rambling about how she's a goddess after all and such I wasn't listening to this time.
After biting into his food for a bit, looking at Aqua in annoyance, he speaks up again. "If you don't mind me asking, what did you get?"
"I got an upgraded version of a character from a gacha game and an infinite inventory." I took a sip while Kazuma nodded along before spit take and Aqua paling as she realized who I am.
"T-TWO!?"
"WAIT, YOUR ERIS'S LAPDOG, THE 2 CHEAT THIEF!?"
"THE WHAT!?"
"I second that the what?"
Aqua takes a second as she looks like she is about to lose it again. "The two cheat thief is a person that I gave two cheat items, and he works for Eris, which means YOUR MY SACRIFICE!?"
"Yep, that's me, the sacrifice, it's been a while, hasn't it, Aqua?"
"THE WHAT?"
