So...we are finally back at the #Sweets,Friendships&Boysverse.
And I'm messing up with the timeline, this is after #HousePest but before #LeagueOfShadows and #CrashCourse already happened.
Sorry for the delay, college life happens and lack of inspiration for this story happens.
*****At a supermarket in Metropolis*****
If there was something that Babs disliked was going to a supermarket half-way through the city with her dad, couldn't they just buy from their neighborhood's grocery store?
And if there was something she disliked more was to go alone since she always forgot to buy something essential and her mom got angry at her.
Her dad was still recovering from Harley Quinn's attack and Babs still had no leads, so Babs was tasked with the important task of getting raisins, her dad's favorites, for their dinner.
That day's dinner was important since it would be the first time in a while her mom would be with them. For some reason she was given a day off, well night off, and so she would be spending the night with them and they would watch Princess Pumpkin Pants together as they did when she was a little girl and had just moved to Gotham.
She sighed as she remembered those good times before her dad decided that they would be better off in Metropolis and her mom decided that she wanted to work full-time if her husband was really, and finally, retiring.
Well she had to admit that if they had stayed in Gotham she wouldn't have meet her friends and grow up as Batgirl.
She was walking distractedly while carrying a market basket, she had already bought some meat, vegetables and bread, now she only had to get spinach and raisins.
The little bat sighed, and Kara had not addressed the incident again and even though the kryptonian was alive and said that she didn't hate her...well, things had been too uncomfortable between them since Kara most time than not kept making allusions to her lack of powers and Babs couldn't help but feeling guilty (which she was).
Then she also had to plan her gift for Harleen since their Friendversary was just around the corner and she had to buy a perfect gift for her friend, maybe something related to The Joker would do even if she couldn't understand her GBFF's obsession with the villain.
Why would anyone obsess so much about someone?
"Focus Babs" She scolded herself while looking around in the vegetables section
Then she bumped into a shopping cart and profusely apologized to the person, who seemed about to yell at her, then she walked away quickly while thinking "Let's get the raisins and get out of here"
It was a while before she spotted them there was only a bag left and so she ran towards it but her hand encountered another two hands.
"I saw those raisins first" She heard a female voice say in a passive aggressive voice.
"So you now like raisins" She heard another say voice say, it was a male voice.
She still had the bag off raisins on her hand when turned to see the other two, she saw Hal and Carol.
"Oh gosh, this is awkward" She thought but she was mildly proud of Hal for not running away from his ex-girlfriend, then she felt the urge to run away when she felt Carol's burning gaze on her and she also saw how her ring lit up a little bit.
The redhead could feel the tension between the three of them but she knew that Carol had most of her attention focused on Hal who in turn seemed to have his attention somewhere.
"Long time no see, Hal Jordan" The Star Sapphire said cuttingly, which surprised the two heroes, then she put both of her hands on her hips and said "Hi...Barbara Gordon"
"Hey, Babs" The Quarterback said looking directly to Babs eyes and then he turned his head a little to look at the raven haired girl and though he treied to play it cool, his voice trembled a little bit while he said "Carol, wassup?"
"Oh, hey guys!" She managed to say while trying to sound enthusiastic, she knew that anything that she said would end up badly for Hal.
Especially after Carol had talked to her after gym class.
Then she realized that both she and Hal still had their hands on the raisins' bag.
"Uh oh" She muttered waiting for Carol to freak out but the other girl just said "I saw them first"
"Well, I need them more" Babs said showing her the list her dad had written for her.
"Oh" The raven haired girl said with a mock sad tone and then she said trying to get the bag"I don't care, give them to me"
"Hey!hey!" Hal said raising his hands "Why are you two discussing who needs it the most when its clear that I need the most?"
"How is that clear?" Babs said frustrated and facepalming internally.
"You are incredible Hal Jordan!" Carol was annoyed by it too.
(Sometimes the Star Sapphire had to remind herself that she loved the Green Lantern)
It was just a second before Hal grabbed the bag and started to run as if he was in the middle of a football game while he said "Sorry, ladies"
Babs was not going to hear her mother rant all dinner about how she couldn't complete the grocery list.
So she ran after him and tackled him to the ground while the other people that were on the supermarket minded their own bussiness, if it wasn't a super villain it wasn't a problem and if it was one of the heroes would take care of it.
"Give them to me, Hal"
"My mom is going to kill me if I don't buy them"
"Mine is going to kill me too!" She yelled at him while she took the bag from his hands.
Suddenly they heard a scream and saw how Giganta was stealing from the cashier, who wwas totally frightened by the villain.
Jusst another day in Metropolis.
Babs sighed and said "Truce till we defeat them?"
"Truce" The QB said while helping her to stand up.
They quickly got into their suits, Babs luckily had been using it under her clothes and well Hal had his ring.
"Stop right there Giganta!" Batgirl said.
"Oh, the little bat thinks that she can stop me?" The villain said "Where are your friends?"
"At the moment I only have him" The bat responded pointing at Hal.
"Hey!" Hal said offended while throwing a punch at Giganta who blocked it with a shelf.
"I didn't mean it that way!"
Suddenly Batgirl was tackled down by another person and when she rolled on her back she saw a pair of black boots.
It was Catwoman.
"Well, well, well" She said almost purring "We have the Batman's fangirl and the boy Green Lantern"
Batgirl wanted to roll her eyes, typical of Catwoman to taunt her instead of directly fighting. Also weren't they supposed to be in good terms after the whole Lex-Corp gala fiasco?
Ah, yes. Catwoman just saved Earth because she liked stuff and steal stuff.
She kicked the villain on the shin and said "What? Did you have to save Giganta?"
"Nah, I just like to steal stuff"
Meanwhile Green Lantern was in a kind of a boxing match against Giganta, the hero found it kinda fun to have sparring matches against the villains that he fought against but suddenly he felt bored and used his ring to create a rope to tie Giganta till the police got there but she broke them.
Batgirl threw a Batarang to Catwoman in hopes of getting her hooked to a shelf but she dodged them, in turn Catwoman threw at her whatever she got into her hands while running away with a bag.
The bat was chasing her and she suddenly ran into Carol who was clearly ignoring the whole debacle while reading the components of a can of mushrooms and listening to music with her earphones on.
The hero stopped on her tracks and tried to turn aound without making a sound but she stepped on a can that was on the floor and so she fell on her back
Her cowl had fell down and she rapidly put it back, the fat that she knew Carol's secret identity as Star Sapphire didn't mean that the other girl should know about it.
But the sound of her fall caught the attention of the cheerleader who looked at her while tilting her head and she seemed amused.
Carol then turned around and saw Catwoman jumping from shelf to shelf to get out of the supermarket while dodging green beams, the Star Sapphire muttered "What's going on in here?"
Then Green Lantern made a few shelves fell down as he crash on them after getting thrown by Giganta who has broken the chains he had created.
"GL!" Batgirl cried out.
"I- I'm...good" He said still down and huffed "Give me five seconds" then he tried to stand up but failed at it "Make it ten, I think she broke something"
Giganta started to tear a wall down to get out when she was caught by a lasso.
"Fear not, I'm here citizens of Metropolis"
It was Wonder Woman, the Amazon looked around and said in a deflated tone "Did you two just get defeated by them?"
"No" Batgirl said a little bit embarrased, then she put her hands on her head and pointed at the ceiling and yelled "Catwoman is getting away!"
Then she shot her grapling hook to the ceiling and started chasing her.
Wonder Woman still had her hands on her lasso and pulled it making Giganta yell : "Unhand me!"
The girl ignored her and looked at Green Lantern, she sighed and asked "Need any help?"
"No, I don't think so" He said finally sitting up and asked "Where's Ba-Batgirl?"
"Went to fight Catwoman"
"'Kay" He looked around and muttered "Where's Carol?"
He shouldn't have asked about her because Star Sapphire appeared and she was enraged, the violet lantern cried out while creating some hearts and throwing them at her kinda teammate "How dare you hurt H-!"
"Oh no!"
Wonder Woman tightgened her grasps over the gigantess and asked gritting her teeth "Does she know your secret identity?"
Green Lantern got up and said "Yes, context later"
He tried to create something to use to fight Carol but he couldn't, his ring wasn't working properly. He smiled sheepishly at Wonder Woman who facepalmed and was about to say something when Catwoman crashed into Giganta.
When the three of them looked up they saw Batgirl who was up on a shelf and made a pose while saying "And Batgirl saved the day again!"
Green Lantern coughed and so the heroine added while pointing at him "With this guy help!"
Wonder Woman made a face and said "Seriously?"
Star Sapphire prepared to resume her attack on Giganta, no one messed with her Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) and so she created a sword with her ring, she was about to swing it over the redhaired villain.
But then they heard some police sirens outside.
"This isn't over yet" Star Sapphire told Giganta before leaving.
A police man entered the supermarket and looked around at the mess, he just shook his head and told the young heroes "Thank you for your help, we take it from here".
He then motioned to the other policemen to arrest the two villains.
Wonder Woman nodded and then realized that the other two heroes had dissappared but Barbara Gordon and Hal Jordan were searching for something on the shelves, so she decided that Diana Prince had to make an appearance.
"What are you two doing?" She asked.
"Raisins, we need to find the raisins!" Babs yelled while grabbing her shoulders.
"My mom is goign to kill me!" Hal cried out "You had them, Babs!"
"Me?, you had them!"
"Why do you need them so badly?"
"They were on the grocery list!" They both yelled.
Then they saw Jimmy Olsen with the bag on his hand and paying for them at one of the cash register that wasn't destroyed during the fight.
"No!" Babs yelled dramatically.
"Well" Hal put both hands on his pockets and asked Diana "Can I come over for dinner?"
The Amazon just raised an eyebrow and shrugged "I'm going to Big Belly Burger"
"That works for me"
Babs started to walk in circles while trying to make an excuse for not buying the raisins and then sighed before putting a hand over Diana's shoulder and saying "Thank you for saving us"
"We had everyhing under control" Hal said but Babs nudged his arm "But thank you"
"What were you doing here anyway?"
"Julia sent me to retrieve some goods for tomorrows lunch" She said and took out a list "But apparently I'm not going to be able to complete my task since you have already informed me about the lack of raisins" She sighed then frowned "Why does people like them anyway?"
"Yeah, they are not good" Hal agreed.
Babs just nodded and shrugged while trying to think about an excuse, telling them that the supermarket had been destroyed was not going to be good enough.
And not completing the grocery list was the last of her problems at the moment.
The three teenagers were getting out after buying the things they could find when Babs stepped on a can again.
So, I hope you liked it, it's a little bit short and somewhat of a filler but we will get back to the interesting things and every story has filler episodes. Also, I know that I suck at writting fighting scenes, I will look into that
