This story is an Au (Alternate Universe). What if Oliver Queen eventually learns to accept Ra's al Ghul's offer, to become the True Heir to the Demon. What is after the battle, he was instead saved by Nyssa al Ghul instead of Tatsu.
*Warning before you read. This is not Oliver x Felicity. This is a Oliver x Nyssa fan fiction. If you don't like the paring then please don't read. Nyssa is bisexual in this. The show never actually specified her sexual orientation, the only true relationship we saw was when she was with Sara, who is bi. So Nyssa could have been bisexual, but it was unknown since we never saw her past relationships. Also I have seen plenty of Nyssa x Oliver fan fictions, so if you don't like books like that, or are a very serious Olicity shipper, then please don't read.
Oliver groaned as he woke up feeling the pain in his chest. The last thing that he could remember was his battle against Ra's al Ghul, and then nothing. He had lost, and was supposed to be dead. Looking around the room he was in was enough to let him know that he was very much alive, if not the pain in his chest and all over his body. The sound of a door opening captured his attention, and Oliver could barely stop his jaw from dropping open when he saw Nyssa walk into the room.
"What are you doing here Nyssa, why am I still alive," Oliver inquired while watching the woman cautiously.
"My father believed you to be a true warrior. He wanted your body recovered, but when I found you still alive, albeit barely, I brought you away to recuperate." Nyssa said in response.
"Why would you betray your father to save me," Oliver asked genuinely curious.
"There was a prophecy from long ago, my father used to read it to me every night when I was young,
The destiny of one, is written amongst the stars,
for it is unable to be broken.
He who faced his end, with strength in hand,
And so he came, rising from the cold hands of death,
He who has faced the demons blade and survived it maim.
He proves himself to be worthy, the true heir has come,
And a worthy heir, Ra's al Ghul will proclaim.
He who becomes the son of Ra's al Ghul by soul,
Will learn to accept his place with time,
Hailed by warriors and assassins alike.
He who is chosen by fate,
Shall find a ally in the daughter of the demon,
And only then as the truth prevails,
Will he accept his true self. "
Oliver openly gaped, staring at Nyssa, "And you think that the prophecy refers to me? That I am predestined to become the Heir to the Demon."
"Yes, I do. No other man could have survived that drop, while crippled by your injuries. You have been chosen by fate. To survive your time in purgatory, and then again throught the years. You are a survivor." Nyssa said, with no sign of a lie present on her face.
Oliver shook his head, "No I couldn't possibly be the Heir of the Demon, I have a family, I have the te-."
Nyssa smirked at his words and ignored Olivers pointed glare sent her way, "Your team is not worthy of you Oliver Queen. You are a warrior and a survivor, and yet they do not trust you after all you have done for your city. They belittle you, and don't realise how truly intelligent and perceptive you are. Even the sister of my former beloved, treats you as less than you are. And despite what you and they might think, killing is not always bad. There are people in this world deserving of death."
Oliver stayed silent, while thinking over what she said. But Nyssa knew that her words could possibly be getting through to Oliver in his weakened state, while recovering from death.
When he finally spoke up his voice sounded unsure, "But killing destroys your soul, piece by piece, doesn't it? Didn't Sara leave the League because of that reason?"
"No. Killing the innocent is what destroys your soul, killing someone who is worthy of their death does not break your soul. That is why the League has survived all these years. We kill those who don't deserve to live, and we rid the world of the evil, not the innocent, unless necessary. And Sara, she left for reasons of her own, the League life was not for her." Nyssa replied.
This time Oliver had no answer for her only staring at the door, Nyssa stood up to leave, "I realise you must need your sleep, while you have been unconscious for over a week and a half, you are still recovering and must continue to rest so you can regain your strength."
Olivers voice stopped her as she was almost out the door, it was barely above a whisper as he asked his question, "Nyssa will your father kill you for saving me? I do not wish for you to incur his wrath just to save me."
Nyssa allowed a soft smile to grace her face as she stood with her back to Oliver, "Yes is is undoubtedly angry, and most likely has squads of shadows out looking for us. He has probably figured out that you are the one of the prophecy by now, so his joy at having a true heir will most likely outweigh his anger."
Oliver nodded, hoping that she was right, "I see. Thank you for saving me, Nyssa."
Nyssa did not reply as she closed the door and continued to walk down the hallway, but somehow Oliver knew that she was still smiling.
League of Assassins Fortress, Nanda Parbat
Ra's al Ghul sat in the throne room of the fortress as he waited for Al Sayf too report back to him, with news of his daughter or newly discovered prophesied heir.
He sensed the assassin in question enter the room, "Al Sayf what news do you bring?"
"When I had reached the cliff, Oliver Queen body was already gone. I believe Nyssa al Ghul was responsible for the disappearance but I was unable to locate her. She must be in hiding if Al Sahem is still recuperating." Al Sayf stated while still kneeling in front of the Demons Head.
"You may stand Al Sayf. So my daughter rescued Oliver Queen. I want you to take a two squads, you lead one while Sarab leads the other. I want Al Sahem found immediately, and brought to Nanda Parbat. Do not harm him or my daughter, but use any methods necessary to subdue them."
Al Sayf nodded, "Yes my liege, I shall inform Sarab and leave immediately."
Once Al Sayf left Ra's al Ghul was left in thought. He still did not understand why Nyssa had betrayed his order to return to Nanda Parbat, to save Oliver Queen. He knew that she had in the past helped the friend of her former beloved, but thought that they fell out. He could understand her respect for the man though, Oliver Queen or Al Sahem, is a true warrior. Oliver faced him, the Demons Head in combat to protect his city. Even though it was obvious that Oliver Queen was not the killer of Ta-er al-Sahfer.
Oliver Queen had the qualities needed in the next Ra's al Ghul, and the current Ra's al Ghul would stop at nothing to have Oliver as his heir.
I finished the first part of the chapter last night but wasn't able to finish the rest until now.
Yes I realised Oliver and Nyssa might be a bit out of character but remember Oliver died, and just barely came back to life. For over a week he was hanging on to life be a thread as he recovered. That is a traumatising experience for both the body and mind. When he woke up Nyssa was there for him so his mind recognises her as a protector of sorts, and basically forms some kind of affection for her, recognising that she saved him.
On Nyssa's part, she took care of Oliver for over a week, and helped him back to health. She also respects him for his skills and all he has been through, add on the prophecy and she forms a sort of connection to him as well.
Also you may have realised I wrote Al Sahem instead of Al Sah-him, because that is not the right transliteration from Arabic to English. English is my first language, but I also speak Spanish as well as some Arabic and French, and some of the Arabic in the show was not right. The Arrow in Arabic is السهم which in transliteration is Al Sahem. Ta-er al-Sahfer does not mean the canary, but I left it alone because I have no idea what the show actually wanted Sara's name to be, The Canary, the Yellow Bird? Also I'm sorry if the transliteration is incorrect, I'm really bad at transliteration, it's easier for me to just write in Arabic.
