PREVIOUSLY-

"He isn't the chief of police for no reason, starshine. I'm just surprised that he waited this long to confirm, and let you stay here in the meantime. I have to admit, I really happy that he's not taking that away." Seth told me as he leaned forward to kiss me.

"Do you think he knows?" I asked him before kissing him back.

"I'd be surprised if he didn't, starshine. He probably just doesn't want to acknowledge it." He told me as he dragged me to the bed on top of him.

Seth gave me some of his clothes and we fell asleep easily, relieved that a big obstacle had been taken care of. However, we still had to go through Jacob.

The next day I woke up and realized I was alone in the bed. I opened the door and immediately heard why I woke up alone.

"Seriously Seth? You're imprint went all self-sacrificial and you're just okay with it?!" I heard Jake yell from the kitchen.

"Of course I wasn't okay with it and she knows that! You don't understand what we both went through, Jake. When I phase, I'll show you. Seeing it from the other guys isn't even close to being the same. She didn't know what would've happened." I heard Seth defend me.

I couldn't just let Seth take all the heat for something that I did. I knew Jacob would be mad, but he should've never taken it out on Seth.

"You need to calm down, Jake, she's coming down and I'm not going to let you phase in front of her." Seth told him protectively.

I walked into the kitchen and went to stand by Seth. He kissed the side of my head and I looked up at him.

"I think I need to talk to Jake alone." I told Seth. He looked apprehensive. "This is my fault, Seth. Let me explain it to him."

He took a deep breath and looked back at Jake. "I'll be right outside. If you even start shaking, I'll know."

"I'll be fine." I reassured him and watched as he walked out the back door.

"Why the fuck would you do something so idiotic, stupid, and completely suicidal?!" Jake yelled at me as soon as Seth was out the door.

"Hi Jake, nice to see you too. So glad that you're healed." I responded sarcastically.

"Don't avoid the question, Bella." He growled at me.

"I did it so that I could save the rest of the pack from what happened to you or worse. I couldn't let anyone else get hurt! She could've killed you, Jacob!" I yelled back at him.

"So you decided to sacrifice yourself instead?!" He argued.

"At the time it seemed like a better idea. I had no idea what could've happened to Seth, or how it would affect the whole pack, or Charlie or Sue." I explained. "Trust me, I've had the rundown from everyone, and most definitely from Seth."

"That would never be the better idea, Bella! Do you even know what you looked like when Paul found you in your house?!" He took a deep breath to calm down. "You looked half-dead Bella. So much worse than when the Cullen's left. You tried to jump out of a moving vehicle!"

"Trust me, I know it was the stupidest thing I've ever done, and I've already promised Seth and the whole pack that I'd never do anything that stupid and reckless again." I tried to reason with him.

"I need to go see Seth's side of things. I'm too angry to not be phased right now, Bella." Jake told me with a disappointed look before taking off out the door.

I huffed and sat down at the table. To my surprise, Leah came down a minute later from her room.

"I gotta be honest, Swan, I expected that to be a lot worse." She said as she grabbed an apple and sat down at the table with me.

"You don't consider that bad?" I asked her honestly.

"Not considering what was going through his mind when he phased in with us this morning. You should be happy that Seth was here snuggled up to your ass instead of being phased. It was a fucking shit show." Leah told me.

"Seth shouldn't have to take any of the heat for it. It was all my idea and he didn't even know about it. None of it was his fault." I told her as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"You know I agree, Swan. We all knew Jake was going to flip his shit. He thinks Seth's an idiot for forgiving you as quickly as he did and then fucking you into submission." I looked at her with a complete mortified expression. "Trust me, I did not want to see that particular memory of my little brother's escapades."

"Sometimes I really hate the pack mind." I mumbled, hitting my head against the table.

"If it makes you feel any better, we have to live through Jared's and Sam's sex lives too. And I promise you, I could really do without either, especially the last one." Leah explained.

"That doesn't make me feel any better, Leah." I muttered to her.

"It is what it is, Swan." She shrugged.

"When are you going to stop calling me Swan?" I questioned her.

"When you turn into a Clearwater. Hell, in Seth's mind you pretty much already are." Leah laughed as she got up. "Might be weird calling you Clearwater though, I may just have to stick with 'sis' considering you'll be my sister-in-law."

Leah left out of the back door before I could respond. I thought about what she'd said. Seth already thought of me as a Clearwater? For some reason that thought made me really excited.

"I only heard the end of it, but it sounds like you had a pretty interesting conversation with my sister?" Seth asked as he walked back inside with his eyebrows raised.

"You have no idea." I told him honestly.

"She's not wrong though." He winked at me before grabbing his own apple and sitting down next to me. I felt a warmth spread through me at his words, but then I remembered why he'd left to begin with.

"Jake?" I asked him.

"Still angry, but he'll get over it. Seeing things through my point of view helped a little, I think, though he might have seen a bit too much." Seth told me with his cheeks turning pink. "Sorry about that, starshine."

"According to your sister, they've all seen it." I told him embarrassingly. "But it's okay, I know you guys can't keep anything from each other. Seth, do you really think Jacob will get over it?"

"He will eventually. He's also angry that he wasn't there with us, so he's burning it off with a long run, probably up in Canada by now. It'll be okay." He reassured me.

A/N- So Jake was pissed. We're heading for some time skips and some major drama coming up! YAY!
