A few things before I continue the story.

I have gotten some messages as well as a comment on this fan-fiction about how they don't like Oliver and Nyssa together, because she likes only girls and not guys. Or how they don't like Nyssa's character because of things she has said.

First of all this is a fan fiction and set in a Au, some of us like to creatively write to explore paths that did not happen in the show. Fan fictions are not real, and if you don't like the story then don't read it. In every fan-fiction where Oliver is in the League or is paired with Nyssa that I have read, all the authors have to address comments like these. It was never truly stated that Nyssa was lesbian, and the only relationship of hers we saw was when she was with Sara. We know nothing of Nyssa's past relationships, and there is a good chance she could be bisexual, like she is in this story.

I really like Nyssa's character, she is a strong and resilient female warrior and I respect her for that. I honestly would have liked to see her with Oliver because I feel like they were very similar in some aspects, of their personalities. I won't really bash Felicity in this either because I respect her as well, she was an extremely intelligent and resourceful individual. I personally liked her with Ray Palmer. I think they understood each other, more than Felicity and Oliver did, and Ray seemed to make her happy.

This is not a Oliver x Felicity story, so you most likely won't like it if you are are serious Olicity shipper, but I don't comment rude things on some of the completely unrealistic Oliver x Felicity stories that I have read, so please don't do that on mine.

I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Oliver stood on the balcony of Thea's loft, looking over Starling City, his home, his former home. Ever since the Gambit sunk, Oliver was in a constant battle for his own survival. He never took the time to come to terms with himself, and he has been running from that darker side of him since he set foot in Starling City five years after his "death." But in truth Oliver Queen did die, the playboy Oliver Queen that the people knew, that his family knew, died for all intents and purposes when the Queens Gambit sunk. A new Oliver Queen was forged on Lian Yu, formed by the experiences he faced on the island known as Purgatory, and throughout the five years he was missing from Starling City. Oliver never truly thought about his own internal conflicts that he let continue throughout these past years, instead letting himself focus on task after task, each a new start to saving his city.

Oliver let himself delve so deeply into his own mind, that he did not notice Nyssa approaching, Oliver silently reprimanded himself for allowing her to sneak up on him, but then again Nyssa was the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, allowing for Oliver to not be immensely surprised by Nyssa's talents in stealth.

Nyssa stopped beside him, standing in silence for a few moments before she spoke quietly, "You are deep in thought Mr. Queen."

Oliver responded without turning his head, instead continuing to look at the city before him in what could be viewed by the untrained eye as peace, "You may call me Oliver Nyssa, Mr. Queen was my father, and yes I have let my mind wander. For the past years, I have only been focused on survival, but now as I am faced with a life in service to the League, I thought now would be a good time to try to find a sense of inner peace."

"You have a fighting spirit Oliver, and a will unlike most men I have met. The League would have great difficulty in making you truly forget him. But never-less, while my fathers methods are extreme, you would be in first in line to become Ra's al Ghul in the case of his demise. With control of the League you could do good while still replacing evil with death, the League of Assassins could destroy drug cartels and human trafficking operations or they could take out corrupt government officials like Amanda Waller. Never let your mind walk on a narrow path when another is available."

"I know Nyssa, I am just not sure if I am ready. I would probably run if it were not for the threat that would be brought to Thea, I would do anything for my sister even if it means sacrificing myself."

"My father will not be around forever, for now I would recommend you learn all you can. My father must know his time is coming if he is so serious in his search for you, fate only allows us so long on this Earth, and he has lived for over five hundred years. The League is not a punishment to Oliver it is your destiny. You will see you sister again," Nyssa responded.

"I know, I have come to terms with the fact that not even I can defy the destiny that fate chose for me."

Nyssa nodded, a slight, barely noticeable smile appearing on her face, "You will not be alone in your chosen fate." she added quietly, "It would be beneficial for you to get some rest."

The Next Day

"Hi Ollie," Thea greeted as her brother walked down the stairs from the loft.

Oliver gave his sister a small smile, "Good Morning Thea. Have you seen Nyssa yet?"

"Yeah, she jumped off the balcony earlier. Just kidding, she did leave by the balcony no idea where she went."

"Ok, thank you. I just have to go visit the team quick, I feel like I left to harshly yesterday, if she returns tell her." Oliver replied.

Oliver walked out of the building that Thea's loft resides in, with no intention of visiting his former team. He continued his path down the side walk, with the knowledge that they would find him whether he want it or not. The lie about visiting the team would placate Thea, but Nyssa will see right through it.

"Hello Sarab," Oliver commented as he slowed.

"Oliver Queen, Ra's al Ghul requests your presence and the presence of Nyssa al Ghul," The assassin demanded.

"No," Oliver said sharply, "I will come..willingly but only if I am allowed to speak to Ra's al Ghul without the presence of Nyssa first."

"Your request shall be granted," another assassin behind Sarab answered, "I am Al Sayf, first horseman of Ra's al Ghul, my liege awaits your presence, Al Sahem."

Oliver nodded slightly and followed the two assassins to the large SUV waiting behind. The ride to the League Starling City base of operations did not take long, and Oliver noticed that the route there was not hidden from him. Once they arrived, Sarab left walking in another direction and Al Sayf the assassin from before, led Oliver down a hallway to a large room where, unfortunately, Ra's al Ghul was waiting for him, with his back turned facing in the other direction.

"Ah Mr. Queen, I am unsurprised by your presence, but it would be foolish for me to believe that you have simply accepted your fate. No Mr. Queen, I am no fool, you have the soul of a warrior. Why have you come?"

Oliver stood his ground facing the Demon's Head, "I have come to protect the fate of another."

The Demon's Head finally turned to face Oliver, a nearly emotionless expression adorning his face, "You speak of my daughter, Nyssa? I cannot allow for her actions to go unpunished, not unless there is a benefit for the League, there are certain rules that even I must abide by."

Oliver nodded clearly anticipating this reaction, "I am fully aware that the League has its own code to follow. While I was recovering, Nyssa took the time to explain to me the ways of the League, she did not speak negatively, but instead she changed my views on the League of Assassins."

"I am led to believe you have grown fond of my renegade daughter then. What are your views of the League now Mr. Queen?"

"I know understand that the League of Assassins's replaces evil with death, you do what is necessary. But just because I now know different, this does not mean I will join the League, my purpose here today was to bargain my life for the life of Nyssa al Ghul."

Ra's al Ghul gave Oliver a curious look, "You would give your own life up for my daughter's?"

"Yes," Oliver responded, "Nyssa saved my life, it is only right for me to return the favor."

"I will accept your bargain Oliver Queen, but should you accept, you will take your place in the League of Assassins as my Heir, but my daughter will not be allowed to face no consequence for her betrayal. Should you choose to accept, you will take my daughter as your wife."

Oliver's mouth nearly dropped open, "Did you just demand for me to marry your daughter."

"Yes, my daughter disobeyed a direct order from me, aiding you while at the time you were an enemy of the League. The consequence for aiding an enemy to the League is death."

Oliver shook his head in refusal, not wanting to hurt Nyssa; who he had grown fond of.

Authors Note

I published this blurb above because I had it written and I though it would be easier to explain.

I am not continuing this exact story anymore.

I will be writing a story with a similar plot line on Ao3, but there will be some major changes. It will take place after Oliver has returned to Starling City with Ra's and the League and it will start right after Oliver fought and killed the former Ra's al Ghul on the bridge. He will be saved by the League instead of Felicity and it will continue from there. I am very sorry but I have lost my thought track for this story and I can't figure out how to finish it.

If it gives anyone peace, I was going to finish the story by Oliver and Nyssa being married, Oliver going back with the League, coming to Starling when Damien Darhk threatens the city, and shortly after defeating and killing Ra's in combat. He takes over the League with Nyssa, after from there they live on.

Again I am sorry about not finishing this story.

My Ao3 username is lyralikesstars. The story is not out yet but the first chapter should be published in a few days and updates around one a week from there.

Thank you so much for reading! I wish you all the best.
