We emerged a short time later into what looked to me like a basement, through the cabinet's counter part. It wasn't as though I had a very good view, my vision was starting to swim and I could barely hold my head up. My heartbeat slowed and I could feel the persistent tug of sleep on my consciousness as it tried to take me, offering up an escape from the pain shooting through the whole of my side. I longed to rest but he wasn't going to let that happen. As he walked through what seemed a dingy, dark house his hand came up to rest behind my head, propping it up and not letting me recline back fully anymore. From the movement on his body it felt like he was taking the stairs.
I felt him nudge open a door with his free arm so he didn't have to put me down. The room we had entered was dimly lit from the warm glow of a single wand's tip.
'Do you have her?' a female voice asked. I didn't recognise it.
'Here,' he replied, the wand tip came closer, 'I don't know what's wrong with her, she's hurt.'
'Is she stuck like that can she not-' she began but he cut her off.
'No. I don't know why, she's either not trying or she can't. I - I don't know,' He almost sounded worried as he handed me gently over to the female and she took me in her arms, kneeling down to rest her wand on the floor. The hood of her cloak was pulled up covering most of her face. I couldn't get a close enough look to know if I would recognise her or not. 'I was only trying to paralyse her, but something else happened. She started to turn back then... she just collapsed.'
I felt the warmth of her hands as she inspected me carefully, tensing up with fear as she took hold of my broken leg. I instinctively tried to jerk it away from her touch and a sudden pain shot through my whole body again as I did so. My leg went limp again and I let out a quiet whimper.
'I think it's broken, her leg, maybe her hip I really can't tell while she's like this,' the woman said.
'We need to go now, they'll know soon if they don't already and we can't be here when he finds out,' he replied
'Well, decide what you want to to do about her,'
He looked down at me again, running his hands through his hair.
'She knows too much, either she comes with us or we obliviate her now.'
She adjusted me in her arm. 'I don't know if it's possible while-'
'Then she comes with us!' He snapped back impatiently. ' This is her own fault anyway. She should have just minded her own goddamn business!'
He snatched me back from her hold and I screamed out, my leg straining with the change in position and my lungs trying to find some comfort in the yell of pain.
'I'll grab our things,' the woman said, moving out of my line of sight to fetch something from the corner of the room.
'Shhh,' he was looking down at me again now. Then, ever so quietly he whispered in a hurt voice, 'I warned you! Why did you not just trust me?' He sighed and sadly shook his head.
Dragging a large, bulky bag behind her, the hooded woman came back over to us. 'Keep a tight hold on her,' she warned him as she held her hand out, offering it to him.
I felt his hold on me tighten uncomfortably as he reached out to take it and together we disapparated with a loud crack.
A/N: Hopefully it's clear this timeline is following the same narrative/timeline as chapter 2.
