Everyone sat around in the living room chatting for the rest of the night. The junior trio were the first to leave, with Liam promising to meet up with Scott soon to play a little lacrosse for old time's sake. Stiles and his dad left next, since they had plans for a fishing trip the next day that called for an early morning wake up. Malia reluctantly left when Lydia was finally ready, since she was staying at the Martin house for the summer.
"Don't get any crazy ideas about us having kids," Malia warned, giving him a rough kiss on the lips.
"Don't worry, he won't," his mom chuckled, shaking her head.
"I'll call you tomorrow," Scott said, watching her walk out the door with Lydia, after she gave another hug to Allison. It was still so strange to see Allison here, after all this time. He'd dreamed of something like this happening, but he never really expected it to. It was like a miracle straight out of a movie.
"We should probably get going. We still have to check into the hotel and wash the airport smells off the kids," Isaac said, petting his daughter's hair where it rested against his side.
"A hotel?" Scott asked.
"The move was kind of sudden, so we didn't really have anything set up. We're going to stay in a hotel until we can find a suitable house," Allison explained, shooting a quick look in Isaac's direction. There was definitely a story there.
"My apartment isn't really set up for anyone else," Chris added.
"I still have the loft. You guys are more than welcome to use it," Derek offered.
"No offense, but I'm not letting my kids crawl around on concrete floors," Isaac chuckled.
"It's probably not the most kid friendly, but the offer still stands," Derek replied.
"You could take your old room," Scott's mom suggested. "It's still got the same bed all set up. It's not a ton of space, but at least for tonight, since it's getting so late."
"What do you think, Alli?" Isaac asked.
"Will the bed fit all of us?" Allison questioned.
"Don't worry about me. I'll sleep in a chair," Isaac brushed off.
"Thank you for the offer Ms. McCall, we'd love to stay. It'll be so nice being somewhere that feels like home," Allison said, smiling up at her.
"Please, call me Melissa. We're practically family, right? And it's my pleasure to have you all here. You don't know how happy that makes me," she said, sitting down next to Allison to get her own hug.
"I should go get some of our stuff out of the car," Isaac said, repositioning his daughter to rest against Allison and standing up with the baby. "Would you like to hold Julian, Melissa?"
"Oh, I'd love it!" she accepted, cradling the baby carefully in her arms. "It's been so long since I've held a baby."
"I'll be right back," Isaac said, walking out the front door.
"Let me help," Chris offered, following him out.
"I've never seen Isaac hand one of the kids over to anyone before," Allison whispered, running her fingers through her daughter's hair. "It even took him two weeks to let my dad hold Celine."
"I guess he trusts you, mom," Scott grinned, noticing the shimmer in her eyes at the idea of Isaac still feeling so comfortable with her.
"You know, sometimes I'd imagine Isaac was mine from the start and I'd picture what he looked like as a baby. This is so much more than I could've dreamed up," his mom said, smiling down at the cooing baby.
"Hey Allison, why did you guys decide to come back so suddenly?" Scott asked. "Not that I'm upset by it, but you always seemed like the type to plan things out instead of rushing in."
"That's probably a better question for Isaac," Allison murmured, holding her daughter a little closer.
"Hey Alli, I got your stuff. Do you want to shower with Celine, then I'll take one with Julian?" Isaac suggested, walking in with a few bags.
"A shower does sound amazing," Allison agreed.
"Scott, will you make sure they have everything they need in the main bathroom? That has the biggest shower," his mom said.
"Sure thing," Scott nodded, gesturing for Isaac to follow him. Scott noticed him throw one last glance at his kids before trailing after him. It was so much like how they'd been during those few months Isaac lived with them that it kind of made Scott's breath catch a little. He'd honestly thought he'd never see the other man again, and he was so happy he was wrong. As happy as he was to see Allison here and alive, he was equally as happy to have Isaac back.
"Scott?" Isaac questioned, as soon as they got to the bathroom. Scott finally gave up and turned around, pulling his tall friend into a desperate hug. Isaac dropped his bags and returned it, squeezing him just as firmly.
"I can't believe you're back," Scott whispered, blinking rapidly as his eyes began to fill with tears. "I've missed you so much."
"I'm sorry I never called or anything, it's just, with everything that went on," Isaac murmured, resting his head against Scott's.
"There's nothing to apologize for," Scott brushed off. "All that matters is that you're back. And I'm never letting you go like that again."
"Is that the Alpha talking?" Isaac snorted, pulling away and wiping a hand down his face.
"If that's what it takes, then yes," Scott laughed.
"I'm not sure how much that will work on me. I haven't done the pack thing in a while."
"We'll figure it out. We have all the time in the world now."
