That was a little over a day ago

"A day ago? wow.. um ok.." Reid said, a little startled by that information.

"And you're sure you don't remember anything during/or after taking Henry out to the park?" JJ said potentially walking into dangerous territory.

"Last thing I remember is sitting at a bench with Henry after we got some ice cream. I hope ur not mad at me for that cus i do remember you told me not to get him so wired up as you and Will wouldn't be gone that long but I couldn't say no to Henry's face." Reid stated chuckling softly at remembering Henry about to throw a pout if Reid said no to ice cream.

JJ's eyes grew a bit wide because she didn't know what to do after hearing that. it became quite clear now that Reid has no memory of Henry getting hurt. No memory of JJ and him getting into a fight. and no memory of being so emotionally distraught that he caused himself to be sitting in the very hospital bed he's currently situated in. She didn't know if she should tell him the truth about what happened and risk Reid either gaining his memory back after JJ potentially giving it a jump start and risk Reid hating her all over again, or to lie and come up with some excuse as to why he was in the hospital.

"JJ?" Reid said to JJ seeing her lost in thought.

JJ flinched herself back into the real world and looked at Reid. "Oh, no of course I'm not upset with you about that Spence, i probably would have done the same thing, I also can never say no to Henry when he gives me that face ur talking about."

"Oh, great thats a relief, then i guess you would be okay with the fact i may have also got him a pack of skittles i was planning to give him on our walk back to your home." Spence teased happy to be chatting with his best friend.

"Spence!" JJ lightly swatted at Reid's hand, so happy that their friendship is seemingly back to normal. Seemingly being the key word because she still doesn't know what to do, tell the truth and risk losing this friendship or lie to him but keep this friendship and to just forget about the whole fight completely, like she wished would happen the second Henry told her what really happen when Henry was still in the ER.

"So anyway do you know what happened to me? As in me being in the hospital. i feel sore but it's not that bad, but i just don't remember how i got in this predicament." Reid said

"Um.. well-" JJ stuttered still deciding which side of this dilemma to equivocate.

"Ah Dr. Reid you're finally awake. Dr. Taylor said as he popped into the room after briefly hearing a two way conversation going on in his room.

"Yup I am" Reid said. JJ internally breathing a sigh of relief, thankful for this interruption giving her more time to think on what to say.

"Im going to go back to the waiting room Spence so Dr. Taylor can look you over without me getting in the way. Also i should probably tell the others that you are finally awake." JJ said getting up slowly.

"The others?" Reid said noticing that JJ avoided answering his question as to what happened to him. he logged it into his eidetic memory to bring it up later to her.

"Yeah Spence, the whole team is here in the waiting room." JJ said

"Oh ok. Didn't think i was that important." Reid said trying to lighten up the mood.

JJ took his hand again and patted it softly. "Of course you're important Spence don't ever think anything less than that." JJ said to him. after exchanging bye's and I'll-talk-to-you-later's she went back to the waiting room noticing everyone was still sad about Reid. She remembered no one but her knows he's awake yet.

"JJ? why do you look happy?" Garcia said bluntly

"Whoa baby girl where did that come from?" Morgan interrupted

"What do you mean 'where did that come from'! look at her! Peache's tell us! whats happening to my little boy wonder!" Garcia demanded

"Its okay Morgan. I'm happy because Reid is awake now, and i actually had a fluent conversation with him." JJ said facing Morgan and Garcia although loud enough for the rest of the BAU team to hear.

"Oh my god thats great! can we see him now?" Emily said practically jumping out of her seat.

"No not yet, Dr. Taylor popped in while i was there and i decided to leave so he could do his check up on Spence. He's probably going to rest for a bit because he sounded tired. He's okay tho." JJ, now sounding a little distant and less happy remembering what she had a hard time trying to tell Reid.

"Whats wrong JJ what aren't you telling us?" Hotch said standing up. He didn't need his profiling skills to see that JJ was hiding something from the team.

"Well.. Spence sort of has amnesia..." JJ began hearing a collected gasp coming from Garcia and Emily.

"Sort of? what does that mean?" Rossi interrupted wanting to let JJ finish her train of thought.

"Sort of as in he remembers everything up to the point of taking Henry out to the park. As in he remembers all of our names, that he is in the hospital, and that he's hurt. He just doesn't remember how he got hurt or Henry getting hurt." JJ said now staring at the ground now waiting for someone to drop the inevitable words she didn't want to hear.

"Or the fight that you and Reid got into after Henry was taken to the hospital... I'm guessing." Morgan was the one to bring out the elephant in the room.

"Yeah... or that.." JJ said quietly.

"So what did you tell him?" Emily said

"Nothing about what he forgot. I was about to but then the doctor walked in so I left. JJ confessed.

"And i take it you are contemplating in that head of yours whether or not you want to tell him the truth or not." Rossi said using his experience to put two and two together.

"Yeah.." JJ said quietly.

"JJ you know if you lie to him about this that he eventually will find out." Hotch gently warned.

"I know but I'm just too scared.." JJ said

"scared? about what?" Morgan said

"Scared about risking losing her friendship with Reid." Garcia cut in and explained

"Yeah." JJ said feeling her legs slowly start to give.

"Hey it's okay JJ." Emily said noticing the pain that was creeping up on JJ's face. "You know we support you no matter which way you go." Emily said with a slight raise in her voice as she looked over JJ's head toward the other agents as if forcing them to agree with her.

"Yeah JJ whatever you choose we will go along with you on." Morgan said agreeing with Emily.

"Thanks guys. I think i know what I'm going to say to him."

"Which is?" Rossi said

"Im going to lie to him."
