*four days prior Giuseppe's lakeside home*
Meredith knew Giuseppe wasn't one for social calls, and she prayed to whatever was out there not to be on his mistress hit list. She loved Alaric with her whole being and didn't want anything to screw with that. As she entered the large estate the maid took her coat and showed her to the veranda where her co-worker and close friend Jo Parker sat with Giuseppe. She was a nervous drinker and had three empty glasses before her and one half full in her hand.
"I take it something's wrong and we need to fix it," Meredith swallowed.
"You were always too smart for Alaric," Giuseppe smiled.
"Just perceptive," she said as the maid poured her a drink before she was dismissed.
"He wants us to kill him," Jo yelled.
"Not kill, just make it believable that I could die."
"Is this about the FBI?" she asked.
"It's about keeping my family together," he smiled.
"Are you really that desperate to get rid of Katherine? She's a nice girl if you look past the snark and bitchary," Meredith said.
"Stefan deserves better."
"We all do, but have you ever had someone look at you the way they look at each other," she smiled.
"You've been watching too many soap operas," Jo laughed.
"I just believe in love, you used to," she retorted.
"Yeah seven no good ex-boyfriend," Jo laughed.
"Ladies all I need is for the kids to believe that at any moment I could kick rocks. I will pay whatever I have to to whomever I need to," he smiled.
"We could lose our licenses for this Giuseppe," Meredith said.
"You can lose them for a lot of things," Giuseppe smiled at the girls.
*present day Henry General Hospital*
Meredith looked over and saw Kol looking through Bonnie's chart. "What are you doing?" she asked him.
"I'm looking for something you could've missed," he said never once looking up.
"I don't need to be micromanaged I know how to do my job. I'm here in my hospital now, no need to worry about Bonnie anymore, Dr. Mikealson," she yelled. "Is that clear?"
"Crystal," he said handing the chart over.
Damon hadn't left Bonnie's side since she passed out. He knew she was stressed out and now she was lying in a hospital bed. "I'm never going to get it right?" he asked.
Caroline sighed and entered the room. "Damon stop doing this to yourself. You didn't do any of this," she said as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "Bonnie and father are going to be okay."
"Damon can we talk?" Meredith said coming to the door.
Damon stood and Caroline squeezed his hand. "I'm right here with you guys," she reassured him.
He nodded and walked out the door with Meredith. "So how's he doing?" Damon asked.
"I don't know how to tell you this, but there was no movement," Meredith said.
Damon ran his hand through his hair. "Maybe he's just sleeping, that's what babies do right?" he asked as he started to pace.
"You could be right. We have a few options. We can give it 24 hours and see what happens, or we can induce labor now," she started.
"We should get him out if there's a problem right?"
"Damon, if we induce labor now, it puts them both at risk. Bonnie's blood pressure is seriously high and she's at his risk for a stroke," she warned. "I want to check his vital again and do another sonogram. If we need to do surgery and Bonnie's still unresponsive it will be up to you," she informed him.
"To choose my wife or my son," he smiled.
"Damon we need more test."
"But that's where we're headed right," he yelled as Caroline opened the door.
"She's awake and asking for you," Caroline told him.
"Hey Bonnie, how are you feeling?" Meredith said taking out her flashlight. "Can you follow the light?" Bonnie did as she was told. "Do you remember what happened?"
"I was going to the café with Katherine and I just felt so dizzy," she said looking up at Damon.
"Is he okay," she asked knowing something was wrong by the look on Damon's face.
"We're not sure, we have a few more test to do, but if he's anything like you two he's a fighter," Meredith said
"What's wrong with him?" Bonnie asked.
"We still have to run tests, but when we ran the first ultrasound there was no movement."
"No movement? What does that mean?" Bonnie asked as she looked at Damon.
He walked over and sat on the other side of her and held her hand. "Like Mer said they need to do more test to know anything for sure."
"Is he… He can't be," she cried.
"Bonnie we don't know anything yet," Damon said as he held her.
"If there's still no movement we can induce labor, or we can wait and put you on observation and see what happens," Meredith said giving Bonnie her choices.
"Can you induce labor now?" Bonnie asked.
"Bonnie we"- Damon tried to say.
"No"- Bonnie yelled then looked at Meredith.
"If we induce labor now, you could stroke out, Bon," Meredith informed her.
"I don't care."
"Bonnie," Damon started.
"Caroline and I are going to let you two talk," Meredith said as she and Caroline left the couple alone.
"Bonnie we have to wait there's no other choice," Damon stressed.
"There's always a choice and whenever you make one someone always gets hurt," she yelled at him. "I refuse to let it be my son."
"He's my son too! Do you think I want to lose him?" he asked.
"That's how it seems," she shrugged.
"That's how much I need you. We can have another kid. I can't find another you," he yelled at her.
"I love you," she said cupping his cheek. "But this is my baby," she cried.
"Just wait twenty-four hours."
"What if he doesn't have twenty-four hours? What then Damon?"
"Bonnie."-
"I'm not changing my mind, and if you can't make this decision I'll get Care or Kat to," she said turning away from him.
"Fine, be selfish."
Teresa approached Damon. "How are they?" she asked.
"He's not moving?" Damon said. "She kicked me out," he smirked.
"Why?"
"I think she should wait and see if he's just resting, but she wants Meredith to induce labor. He blood pressures too high, and Meredith is trying to talk her out of it, but… I can't lose them," he started.
"Damon they're going to be fine. I'm sure Meredith can get through to her," Teresa smiled as his phone rung.
"Hey is everything okay?" he asked Stefan.
"You need to get up here," Stefan said.
"I'm on my way with Teresa," he said as they walked to the elevator.
