Chapter 14

It's been six months since I got sick and Sebastian has been great through it all. He's been taken care of me and still says I'm beautiful even though my hair is gone and I'm barely over ninety pounds. I look so sick and the cancer is finally going away. They say I will be in remission soon and that they are very optimistic about it all. They did warn me it can come back and I need to keep having yearly cancer screenings.

It's almost my birthday and Sebastian has been very busy since it's his last year of medical school and will start his residency next year. He chose to specialize in oncology after what I am going through. I didn't reenroll the fall semester even though it would be my last year.

I feel bad of late since mine and Sebastian's sex life has pretty much disappeared and we don't have sex as often as we used to. But I've been so sick that I don't have the energy to have sex. He understands and says it can't be helped.

He pays my medical bills and tells me not to worry about it. He says he has enough to pay for all my treatments and doctors. In my surprise my Aunt Frances has been helping him pay the medical bills as well. She said her brother would want her to. I know for a fact she has the money to help.

I lay in my hospital bed with an oxygen tube under my nose and an I.V. in my port I have in my chest. I had to go to the hospital three days ago when I started having hard time breathing and I fainted. Sebastian was at school and came home and found me on the bedroom floor passed out.

"How are you doing sweetie?" The nurse asks when she comes into check on me. She checks the I.V. and my oxygen level.

"I'm better now." I answer. She nods and gives me a warm smile.

"You are a very quiet patient ha ha." She laughs when she smooths the blanket over my legs.

"Is that good or bad?" I ask.

"Good! You are my favorite patient. And I love to see your husband walk in. He is one fine looking young man. You are a lucky man to have him. He loves you so much." She says with a laugh.

"Thank you and yeah he is a very good looking man." I smile. She nods and leaves me. An hour later my husband walks in while still in his scrubs.

"Hey beautiful." He says and leans to kiss me. I smile against his lips. He then gives me a worried glance.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"It's nothing for you to worry about." He says as he goes to sit in the chair next to me and takes my hand.

"Sebastian what is it? What is bothering you?" I ask.

"Claude has been released from prison. I'm scared he will come after you or me." He admits.

"You really think he's that vindictive?" I ask as I squeeze his hand lightly.

"Yes I do. I fear him. Not for my safety but for yours. I got a restraining order against him so if he even attempts to even threaten us his ass is back in jail. I worry he will hurt me through hurting you again. He knows you are my weakness and he can easily break me by hurting you. He knows I don't care what he does to me just as long as you are safe. If he hurts you again I don't think I can let the courts take care of him." He says as he brushes his hand along the side of my face. I nod a bit.

"It'll be okay. He can't hurt me." I assure him.

"No, but still he will try to. I know his behavior and what he is capable of. When I found you broken and bloody on the floor I thought you were gone. I didn't think he would do such a thing to you but I underestimated him. I'm thinking about hiring bodyguards to protect you. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if he ever hurt you again." He says.

"Sebastian, don't waste your money on me. I will be fine." I groan.

"I'm not wasting my money. I love you too much to lose you. Besides you are going through enough right now." He says. I sigh and let him be.
