Meredith didn't think her situation could get any worse, but Bonnie was fully dilated and the baby had turned out of position. She looked up and already Damon's eyes must have caught the fear on her face. She put on a smile and tried to think of a reassuring way to say this. "Bonnie," she started. "You're fully dilated."

"So I should start pushing?" she asked.

"The baby, he's turned around. And the umbilical cord is being squished. We're going to have to cut you open, love," she said taking her gloves off. "Angela get me a room and a team in it in no less than five minutes," she ordered the nurse. "Bryan get in here so you can move Bonnie's bed," Meredith called out the door to an attendee.

"Is she going to be okay?" Damon asked.

"She's going to be fine. We're going to give you an anesthesia so you won't feel anything. We'll have a nurse look over him while we stitch you back up and you'll have your baby," she smiled. "You just have to pick the person you want to go in with you. You can only pick one."

"Damon," Bonnie said with no hesitation.

Damon knew they had just made up, but it still caught him off guard that she said his name. He kissed her forehead. "Damon you need to scrub up and get some robes to put over your clothes stat," Meredith said.

"Hey I'm not one of your male nurses."

"Please," Meredith said teasingly.

"Sure."

"Doctor Saltzman we're in 13," Angela said.

"Take Damon with you and get him prepped," she order.

"Yes doctor," Angela said signaling Damon to hurry.

"Ready?" Meredith asked Bonnie.

"So ready," Bonnie laughed.

"See yeah when you come out," Katherine said.

"I can't wait to hold my nephew," Caroline said as she gave Bonnie a hug.

"We love you guys," Stefan said as he placed a soft kiss on Bonnie's forehead.

"I love you guys too," she said as Bryan wheeled her out.

Kol rushed to the counter and ordered the nurse to call for Jo and Meredith. "Dr. Parker is in her office and I still can't find Dr. Saltzman," the nurse told him.

"Okay," Kol said as he made a B-line for the elevator. Once it dinged on the 8th floor he rushed down the corridor to Jo's office.

Kol swung the door open. "Where's the fire?" Jo laughed.

"Under your behind," he yelled. "What were you two thinking?" he said with a humorless laugh, "Did you honestly think no one would catch on?"

Jo tensed and then straightened her spine. "I don't know what you're talking about, if there's nothing else you can go," she said putting her reading glasses on.

"Josette, you can lose your license. Why would you do this to Damon, Caroline, Stefan, Bonnie? What's there to gain?"

"I can't answer those questions Kol," she sighed.

"Why the hell not?" he asked.

"Because I don't have the answers there's only one person that does," she said looking Kol in the eyes.

"Giuseppe."

"I can't wait to see the baby," Caroline beamed.

"It's going to take at least an hour to get him out. Then they have to run test, and get Bonnie sown up," Katherine said.

"It can't possibly take that long," Stefan laughed.

"Bet?" Katherine asked.

"Sure," Stefan agreed.

"Since we're making wagers let's play a guessing game," Giuseppe said coming into the room in a tailored suite.

"Father," Stefan said.

"You're okay," Caroline said with tears in her eyes.

"Yes, sweetheart, that I am. And imagine how I felt waking up in an empty room?" he laughed.

"Shouldn't you still be in bed?" Stefan asked.

"No, because he's a bastard and was never really sick in the first place," Katherine said breaking her silence.

"Ding, ding, ding you are the winner," he smiled.

"Why would you do this to us?" Caroline demanded.

"It was more about Damon honey, but I simply can't have you fraternizing with the riffraff much longer," he shrug as if he didn't scare them half to death.

"Does it not matter to you that we were worried sick about you?" Stefan yelled.

"You will watch the way you talk to me boy!" Giuseppe demanded. "You have no right to be crossed with me. I have done everything I could for you. I've given my soul for you and this," he said pointing to Katherine, "Is how you choose to repay me? This is how you want to spend your life? Well here you have it. You get to be in charge. You get to run the show. Just know the rules are mine," he said before he left.

Damon held Bonnie's hand as they made the first cut across her abdomen. "You feel anything?" he asked her.

"Just really nauseous," she smiled. "I can't wait to see him," she said.

"You won't have to wait much longer," he said peeking over the drape.

"I'm so happy," she said as she gently rub his face with the back of her hand. "I can't wait for things to calm down so we can restart our forever."

"Me too," he said kissing her forehead.

"Angie," Meredith called.

"I'm ready," Angela said as she came over with a blanket.

Soon the room filled with a muffled cry, "Is that him?" Bonnie yawned.

"Yeah," he said.

"She's bleeding out I need suction," Meredith called.

"Is she okay," Damon asked as a monitor started to sound.

"Her heartrate is dropping," another nurse said.

"Get me some blood fast."

"Meredith what's happening."

"Get him out," Meredith called.

"Damon, come on," Bryan said.

"I want to know what's happening to my wife," Damon said as he struggled with Bryan.

"I'm going to explain, Meredith is doing everything she can. Can you do the same and let her concentrate on your wife?" he asked.

Damon calmed and followed Bryan out.

Four hours, that was how long Damon had been waiting. He left several voicemails for Stefan and Caroline. He was told Giuseppe was moved and they went with him. He hadn't heard anything about Bonnie, or his son. No one would look him in the eye, and they kept reassuring him everything was okay. He knew something was wrong. Bonnie wouldn't leave him. She had to be fine. They both had to be fine. Damon would lose his mind if he lost both his wife and son on the same day.

"Finally," Kol appeared. "Where have you been?" he yelled at Damon.

"Here waiting for word on Bonnie," he said.

"What do you mean?"

"After they got the baby out she started to bleed out," he informed him.

"I'm too late," Kol groaned.

"Too late for what?"

"This is Bonnie's chart. She and the baby were perfectly fine. She could have carried him to term," Kol informed him.

"That's impossible, how could Meredith have missed that?" he questioned.

"She purposely over looked it," Kol informed him. "This is your father's chart."

"He was fine too… I'm so stupid," Damon yelled. "How could I not see this a mile away? He ticked me. Trapped me," he yelled as he kicked over the coffee table in the waiting room.

"Damon there's still time," he said.

"If they're still in the hospital," Damon said as he and Kol ran off in different directions.

No matter where Damon looked he couldn't find Meredith. He was steadily running out of time so he called Alaric. "He I heard you're a daddy," Alaric greeted.

"Yeah I am. I need a favor actually."

"What is it?"

"I might have gotten into a fight with Meredith and she's avoiding me. Could you tell her to meet you in the garden by the café?" Damon said. "Bonnie really wants me to apologize," he added.

"Fine, for Bonnie," he said and hung up.

It didn't take long for Meredith to get to the garden. Damon's eyes met hers and she stopped. "Don't you dare run," he yelled.

"Damon I can't help you," she said.

"Why would you do this to me, Meredith? Why?"

"Your dad," was all she said. "He promised everything was going to be okay."

"Well my wife and son are missing."

"Bonnie's in her room resting," Meredith said.

"Where's my son?" he asked.

"Follow me," Meredith said taking him thorough the emergency route to the nursery. "He's in a room by himself," Meredith said as she keyed herself in.

They walked down the corridor and saw Caroline looking into the room. "How did you get into here?" Meredith asked.

"Bryan owes me," she said. "He couldn't get me inside though."

"Only I can do that. You guys have five minutes," Meredith said swiping her card. "Wash your hands thoroughly and use sanitizer."

The pair did as they were told and Meredith opened the latch on the baby's intensive care crib. "He's a little underweight, but he's doing great," she smiled as she handed Damon his son.

"He's beautiful," Care smiled.

"Whatever is going on with you and Giuseppe you need to fix it before it's too late," Meredith informed him. "I'll give you a minute but you two really can't stay long."

"I'm going to kill him," Damon said as he kissed his son's forehead.

"Bonnie's been calling for you. You need to tell her," Caroline said.

"How am I going to tell her that father is going to sell our son?"

"You don't know that. He wouldn't do that," Caroline protested.

"He put himself in a coma, Care," Damon laughed. "He'd do anything."

"What are you going to do?"

"Whatever he wants to get my son back."

"Like leaving Bonnie?"

"Not on the table."

"It's what he wants. You can have Bonnie, or you can have your son," Caroline said. "He can't do this to us."

"The plan is still on. I just need time to get my son back. Then we'll be free, now that means free of him," Damon smiled.

"Kay," Caroline said giving her nephew a kiss. "I'll see you soon."

"We'll be back for you. Daddy promises."

Caroline walked in Bonnie room and Bonnie smiled. When she saw Damon behind her Bonnie's smile lite up. "Where were you?" She asked trying to sit up.

"Careful your stitches," Katherine warned her.

"We were checking in on the baby. He's beautiful," Damon said as he sat next to her.

"Did you take a picture?" she asked.

"I didn't… look Bon," he said taking her hand. "I'm so sorry I got you involved in this," he said.

"Is he okay?" Bonnie asked.

"He's fine he's healthy," Damon said.

"But?"

"My dad, he wasn't sick. You weren't sick," he said.

Bonnie shook her head. "No, no," she cried.

Katherine turned and cried on Stefan's shoulder, Stefan tried to sooth her, but he was pissed. Caroline sat on the other side of Bonnie and rubbed her back. "He's getting ready to sell him," Damon finished.

"And you just left him alone with that monster. My baby," she cried.

"I'm going to get him back babe," Damon said reaching for her hand.

Bonnie pulled her hand away. "Get away from me," Bonnie yelled.

"Bonnie," he pleaded.

"GET OUT DAMON," she demanded. As soon as he was gone Stefan followed after him and Katherine took his place by Bonnie.

I'm taking notes from Poppa Pope on Scandal for Giuseppe so the toying with them to get what he wants isn't going to stop. You can't take command lol. Damon is going to try his hardest to make things right, and Bonnie is going to make a tough choice on her son's behalf, and no the baby still hasn't been named yet and that's a surprise for later. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.
