I hope you guys enjoy this and thank you for reading. Teamstefine hey nice chat lol. Giuseppe's craziness is coming to a head and the Salvatore kids are pass the breaking point. leni18 If only it were that easy. I sure Damon wishes he just walked out with his son too. bellavida0213 we'll see if Damon can clean up this mess.

Day One

Day one was unbearable for everyone. Bonnie spent most of it alone in the hospital. She requested a new doctor and had everyone removed from the room expect Katherine. No one took it personal. Well, they tried not to. Their main objective was to reunite mother and child as quickly as possible. The three Salvatore kids went home and plotted out a way to do just that.

"We can get back in the natal unite and just take him and go. There was no reason for you two to leave him in the first place," Stefan said as they thought of a way to get Damon's son back.

"I tired that," Damon said. "Father moved him."

"Where? Is that even safe?"

"Father is a lot of things, but he would never physically harm us. Especially his grandson," Caroline chimed in.

"At this point, I honestly believe that man is capable of anything," Stefan yelled.

"He's trying to preserve this family he wouldn't hurt his grandson."

"Whatever you choose to believe Caroline."

"He's our father Stefan, he's not a monster!"

"Bonnie can't stand the sight of any of us. He practically ripped her baby out of her stomach! How can you still believe there's something worth saving in him?" Stefan questioned letting out a humorless laugh.

"He's our father I have to," Caroline said looking up at Stefan with her big blue eyes.

Stefan's anger still wouldn't relent. There was no possible way to tame it. All of this in part was his fault. All because he choose to follow his heart, and his brother backed him. He looked over at Damon who looked down into his empty glass. He couldn't figure out what Damon could be thinking. "Let's focus on getting our nephew back. Father doesn't matter now."

"Okay," Caroline agreed. "I'll call Tyler and see what he can do," Caroline left the room and went to find her cellphone.

"How are you holding up?" Stefan asked as he sat on the coffee table in front of Damon.

Damon turned his gaze to his brother. He wanted to rage he wanted to yell, but he couldn't do that. Not until he knew Bonnie was okay. He had to find his son, and get them away from his father. He was 3 in 0 at this point in protecting the people he loved from his father, and now all his regrets with Isobel were starting to resurface. "I'm not going to let him do this again. I'm going to do whatever it takes to get my family back," Damon said issuing a warning to him.

"I want to help you," Stefan agreed.

"You can't. I need to stop this," Damon said looking around. "I'm sorry."

"Damon if you do that. Elijah will rain fire and brimstone on your head," Stefan said warning him.

"I'm getting my kid back one way or another. If he wants a fight I'll give him one. I know where all the skeletons are, and I'll tell," Damon yelled. "I sold my soul for that man. I did everything he asked of me without blinking. I lost my family, I lost my life. And I'm not going to lose my son or my wife. I'm done losing shit Stefan! I'm done!" he yelled.

"Damon," Stefan said as he stood. "I'm with you, no matter the cost."

"I can't ask you to do that Stefan," Damon said as he looked his brother over.

"Well, I'm not asking," Stefan said with a shrug.

Damon smiled at his brother. "Alright."

Day Two

Bonnie had been crying nonstop for a few hours. Katherine got Kol to give her a sedative so that she could sleep. Katherine gather Kol and Tyler in the room to discuss how they could get Bonnie her son back. It was killing her to see, on most days, her only friend in so much pain. Like Stefan she couldn't help but blame herself for what was happening. She didn't know why Giuseppe hated her so much. Well she had a clue, but it was too trivial to provoke this sort of reaction from a person. Then again Giuseppe Salvatore wasn't an ordinary person. He had a dark mind and a darker heart. There were three things that man cared about in this world and they betrayed him. Katherine was sure somewhere in the deepest depths of the icebox Giuseppe called a heart there was some faint semblance of love there for his kids. The kind of love that makes you over look someone's faults and forgive them no matter their transgression. She was sure killing Giuseppe would be something no one wanted to do, and he was the only one that knew where Bonnie's bundle of joy was. Her only option was to appeal to his heart. If that didn't work she'd make a sacrifice for the greater good.

"So we're supposed to get Giuseppe alone on the off chance that he'll open his heart to you and give the baby back?" Kol questioned out loud.

"Do either of you have a better plan," she said looking the two gentlemen over.

"You have no heart so how are you going to have a heart to heart with him?" Tyler asked.

"Because he's quite heartless too. We complete each other," Katherine sneered. "Anymore smartass comments?"

"This isn't going to work. We can just take Bonnie home for now and let the chips fall where they may," Tyler proposed.

"She's not going back to the boarding house," Katherine laughed.

"I meant take her home, home. You know to her family and her dad who's a PI."

Kol and Katherine looked questioningly at Tyler. "He'd be out for blood," Kol chimed in.

"This has been going on for too long. I know I don't want to spend the rest of my life watching kids come and go off into the unknown. I want to do something meaningful with my life. My dad didn't want this for me, and I see why. This business turns you into something you never imagined was in you. It distorts everything you were into something unrecognizable. Any of us could be the next Giuseppe, and it won't be me."

"How are we going to convince her to leave without Damon and her son?" Katherine asked.

"I hadn't got that far in my planning."

"Give me some time with Elijah," Kol said. "I'll figure something out to get the baby back."

"Great, meeting adjourned," Katherine smiled.

Day Three

"It's been three days and we still aren't any closer to figuring out where Damon's son is," Caroline growled as she sat in the kitchen. "Damon's losing his mind," Caroline sighed.

"Eat," Stefan ordered her.

"I can't," Caroline said pushing the plate away. "Everything about this makes me sick to my stomach. I can't believe this is real. That father did this to Damon. He never said anything about Bonnie. He paid her asking price. He made them get married. This makes no sense."

"Because it has nothing to do with Damon or Bonnie, Caroline," Stefan yelled. "We all know this is because of Katherine and I and I'm going to fix this."

"Stefan no one blames you," Caroline said as she comforted her brother. "Damon defiantly doesn't."

"He doesn't say it, but I can see it in his eyes. I can feel it whenever we're in a room alone. He resents the hell out of me," Stefan groaned. "I deserve it."

"No you don't. You didn't do this. Father did and he's going to pay for this. Damon just may never forgive him."

"I know Bonnie is going to lose it when she comes home this afternoon. I can't look at her without feeling guilty."

"That makes two of us," Caroline added. "I wish there was something more we could do."

Damon walked into his father's home. He found Teresa in the breakfast room in a long silk robe. "Is my father home?" Damon asked.

"He's in his study," Teresa said walking closer. "How are you holding up?"

"I don't need your fake concern or pity," Damon sneered.

"Damon, I'm not your enemy. I just want to help," she said pleading with him.

"If you want to help me, find my son," he said and walked away not waiting for her response.

Damon walked to his father's office and knocked on the door frame. His father looked up at him over his reading glasses and smiled. He was acting as if this was a normal house call, and it pissed Damon off. "Son what brings you by?" he asked getting up from behind his desk. Giuseppe walked over to his bar and poured his son a glass of bourbon.

"When am I getting my son back?" Damon asked as he took a sip from his drink.

"You tell me. When am I going to get my son back?" Giuseppe asked. His face was a stone wall and Damon couldn't read him. He didn't know what to think.

"I'm here."

"And Stefan?"

"We're both here," Damon yelled.

"That is a problem. I don't like that anger. It took so long to quill it," Giuseppe tsked. "That is what she did to you, and what Katherine did to Stefan. I tried to give Bonnie the benefit of doubt. I knew you were the one to pursue her, but I knew she'd do this to you. You were so admit about paying for that whore, but I knew better. I knew she'd awaken that defiant mind of yours. I knew she'd take you back to your dark place.

"You been sulking around reading old newspaper clips about you and Isobel? You've been wondering where she is and if she's happy right? You've probably been replaying that day over and over in your head. Wondering how you missed her goodbye. That my son is your past. Ian Somerhalder is dead. You're not that sad little boy who no one cared for. You're Damon Salvatore, that's who Bonnie loves."

"She doesn't love me. She probably won't ever love me again," Damon admitted. "You took that from me the second you took my son, and you knew you would. She's never going to trust me again. She's never going to get over this. This is what you wanted right. To force her hand since she wouldn't willingly leave me and I wouldn't leave her?"

"I know this hurts but it's just for now."

"Give me my son back!" Damon ordered. "He needs his mother."

Giuseppe undid his cufflinks and smiled at his son. "You know what I say. Family should be the heart of everything you do. And you are a family man through and through Damon. I never been prodder of you my son," he said putting his hands on Damon's shoulders. "You're a father. And that boy of yours is a beauty. He has his mother's eyes. They're hauntingly green, you know that?" he asked.

"No," Damon said as he fought the urge to punch his father.

"I have a picture," he said going to his desk and taking off the front picture frame. "Here, consider it a peace offering."

"What do you want from me?!"

"I want her gone. Both of them. She's never seen that baby and I think that's the most humane way for her to leave. She's not too attached to him, and I'm sure Katherine will attach another pair of brothers for them."

Damon gripped his father by the collar. "I'm not going to ripe her away from her child and I'm not leaving my wife."

"Well the choice is your wife or your son. I hope you can live with the decision you make," Giuseppe smiled. "Should I call Ethel to show you out?"

"No," Damon said leaving the office in a huff.

"Damon!" Teresa called after him.

"I don't need this," he yelled at her.

"Here," she said shoving a piece of paper in his chest. "He's there."

"I'd kiss you if you weren't sleeping with Satan."

"You have four days until Giuseppe makes up his mind if he's going to sell him or not. I know he won't so just wait," she tried to urge him.

"He was going to sell my son?!" Damon yelled.

"He's not."

"I'm getting my son," Damon promised.

"I'm sorry."

Damon arrived to the hospital to see Bonnie pumping a bottle full of milk. "Can I come in?" he asked as he watched her from the door.

"Yeah," she smiled at her husband. "I've been pumping a lot I just want to make sure I can feed him when I get him back," she smiled at Damon

"I," Damon started but stopped. He looked his wife over and didn't want to break her heart. "Bon I'm sorry, but I didn't get him back. Not yet."

Bonnie's eyes widened and her posture slump. "What are we supposed to do Damon? What does he want me to do?"

"Don't worry about my father. I'm not going to give in to him. We're going to get our boy back."

"He's going to sell him right?" Bonnie questioned as she looked over at her husband.

"He can't do that."

"We are nothing but property to him Damon. He'll do whatever he damn well pleases and we're just at his mercy!" Bonnie yelled. "Whatever he wants our son is worth it."

"He wants me to leave you. He wants me to take our son and leave you. IS that what you want?" Damon yelled at her. "After all of this you want to never hold him, to never see his beautiful green eyes. To just forget he existed."

"It's sounds better than not knowing where he is and if he's being taken care of," Bonnie said putting her pump away and packing the rest of her stuff. "I'm going to wait for Katherine."

"Bonnie," Damon pleaded.

"Just go," she ordered.

Damon drove to the address Teresa gave him. He arrived at a small house in the middle of nowhere. He walked up the steps and ring the bell. It didn't take long for Rebekah to answer. The pair had mirroring expressions of shock on their faces. It didn't take long for Damon's expression to shift into his menacing gaze. "Where is my son Bekah?" he asked as he walked forward backing her into the house.

"I don't know what you're talking about Damon," she lied.

"Rebekah don't you dear li to me. I know you know where he is and I want my son now!" he yelled causing her to cower away.

"Damon I don't know I swear it. I'm sorry I don't know."

"Rebekah if there was ever a time that you loved me, really loved me, you'd tell me what you know."

"All I know is this is where he was picked up. I don't know where he is now. I just know this is where he was."

"Bekah I know you're lying."

"Then you know if I tell you it wouldn't help. I'm not going to let anything happen to him. I'd never do that to you," she said cupping his cheek. "Just trust me. Mason and I are going to help you."

Day Four

Kol and Tyler walked the big house their steps in synch with one another. Klaus was away on business and the others were at the main office. That left the perfect opportunity to get Elijah alone. Out of everyone in the Mikealson clan Elijah was the most diplomatic and he valued honest and family above all else. Kol knew he could turn to his older brother no matter his need. And today was the day for him to cash in that promise.

"Kol what a wonderful surprise. Didn't think Meredith would let you out the hospital," Elijah said as he greeted his brother. "And you brought Tyler."

"Hey," Tyler said as he entered the office.

"I take this isn't a visit than?" Elijah questioned.

"We need to find Damon and Bonnie's baby," Tyler said. "We figured if anyone knew it would be you."

"Yes, Damon has found himself and a very unfortunate place. I wish that I could offer you my help, but I don't know where he is," Elijah informed him. "But I know who might."

"And who would that be?" Kol asked.

"Our dear sister," he smiled.

"Rebekah has the baby?" Tyler questioned.

"Freya."

Kol sighed. "I'll call her," he said knowing it would be hell getting a hold of his older sister. She never stayed in one place too long and she didn't stick close to home.

"Giuseppe is out for blood. You boys shouldn't mess in his affairs," Elijah warned.

"Bonnie doesn't deserve any of this. It's partly my fault for letting things with her escalate so. I'm not going to let anyone hurt her son," Tyler promised.

"You were always so noble," Elijah smiled. "That's why Caroline loves you."

Rebekah walked into the loft and looked around. It was quiet and unkempt, there were baby toys littering the walk way. "Frey," Rebekah called out. "You in here?"

"Bekah," she said rushing out of the back room. "I just got him to sleep."

"Can I see him?" she asked.

"Yes, what is that?" Freya asked putting to the cooler in Rebekah's hand.

"Teresa tipped Damon off. He came by my house and I did a terrible job of convincing him that I didn't know where his son was."

"Did he follow you here?"

"No I took a cab here from a café as I usually do. He shouldn't find you. He gave me so milk for the baby. Poor Bonnie's been pumping nonstop."

"It's not your fault that Giuseppe is a mad man. He's going to returnthe baby after he proves whatever point it is he's trying to make."

"Everyone thinks that yet Damon, Bonnie, Katherine, Stefan, and Caroline are in ruin and here the baby remains. It's sick that we're doing this."

"Bekah we're doing this to prevent the alternative. Giuseppe trust us and that's what that baby needs. Just keep doing what you're doing and all will be well again."

"I already broke Damon's heart once, I feel twice as bad this go at it," she smirked.

Freya caressed her sister's face. "One day this won't be our lives. And none of this will matter. As long as we have each other we'll be safe."

Rebekah took a breath and smiled. "Your right."

"I always am dear sister."

Day Five

Caroline cleaned the house top to bottom trying to distract herself from Bonnies muffled cries. Stefan and Katherine were off following a lead. Tyler went off with Kol again, and Damon was out doing god knows what somewhere. She wasn't a praying girl like other southern belles, but now was a time she disparately need to.

Caroline got on her knees and sighed. She thought of the right things to say and realized there wasn't any. Her father was a monster that deserved to pay for his actions. She found herself crying as she sat on her knees. "Please make this right," she cried out. "Please let him make the right choice."

Bonnie decided that sitting in the house crying wasn't going to bring her son home. She got dressed and walked down the steps. Caroline was nowhere to be found, but her car keys hung on the wall. Bonnie grabbed her keys and made her way to the garage. She was going to do whatever it took to get her son back.

She arrived to her destination fifteen minutes prior, but couldn't make her way out of the car. She didn't know how to control her feelings, but she had to figure something out. Bonnie found the strength to get out and walk up the drive way to the front door. She rang the doorbell and waited nervously for someone to answer. "Ms. Hopkins," Giuseppe beamed as the huge white door opened. "I was just about to eat diner alone, please join me," he said as he directed her in.

Bonnie walked in silence as they made their way to the dining room. "Ethel will you make Ms. Hopkins a plate please."

"Yes sir."

"I hope you like red snapper. I caught it this morning and Ethel prepares it lovely. Wine?" he asked pouring without a response.

"I want my son back," she demanded as he returned to his seat.

"What a predicament you've found yourself in," he said directing Ethel to leave after she brought Bonnie's plate. "I don't find you fit to raise my grandson."

"Your son made the opposite choice when he laid with me. You have no right to decide what happens to my son," she yelled at him. "I did everything you told me. I gave up ever seeing my family again all I want is my son," she yelled.

Giuseppe had seemed engrossed in his male as she talked. When she finished her statement he put a fork full of food in his mouth he sat his fork down. "And what about Damon? Is he something you still want?"

"I love him," she said.

"But not as much as you love your son. You'd give anything in the world to hold your little boy, won't you," he questioned. "Even the love of your life."

"Damon and I are a package deal if you haven't realized that yet."

"But if you had your son, and all you had to do was take him and move on with your life. Would you do that?" Giuseppe asked.

Bonnie studied he father-in-law. He was a simple man with an unwavering will. "I'll do whatever I have to," Bonnie agreed.

"Including leaving my son?" he asked.

"Yes," she agreed.

"Yes to?"

"If you give me my son I'll leave Damon," she promised. Bonnie didn't know why she agreed to this, but she needed to get her son back. She loved her husband with everything she was, but she needed her son. She had to get him away from all of this.

"You are going to go to Vermont with Katherine. I have an estate there. You will want for nothing. It has great schools and tuition for him will be paid, of course," Giuseppe smiled. "There will be no need for you to look back. I'll make sure you have the best Ms. Hopkins. And the divorce will be processed before your plane lands."

"And how am I supposed to get Katherine to come with me?"

"However you imagine," he said with a kind smile that made Bonnie uneasy. "I'll give you three days to decide what you'll like to do. But this is as good as it's going to get Ms. Hopkins," he said. "Would you like more wine?"

"Thank you," Bonnie said as she finished her glass.

Day Six

Damon came into his room and Bonnie was folding baby close and putting them into a draw next to a crib. "Where did you get this stuff?" he questioned.

"I went out shopping with Katherine. I know I haven't had the most faith in you, but I know we'll get him back. I just want to be ready for that," she said smiling at him.

"I'm doing everything I can Bon," he said.

Bonnie smiled and caressed his cheek. "I know, thank you." She smiled.

"Can I tell you something?" he asked her.

"Yeah what's up?"

"Before Giuseppe and his wife adopted me, I was Ian Somerhalder," he confessed. "My parents they really weren't around. Isobel practicly raised me. Our grandparents couldn't afford to keep us all year, but they'd save up everything they made all year long to take us to Disney world for the summer. Sometimes we only stayed for a day, sometimes they managed to save for a week. It was the only thing Isobel and I looked forward to. It was our Christmas," Damon laughed. "When Giuseppe sold Isobel I hated him so much. My mom said it was for the best and that she'd be okay, but she wasn't. They beat her… raped her. And it was my fault. She was supposed to be here, but she gave that up for me.

"Giuseppe wants me to forget that. He wants me to pretend I never had a life before I was Damon Salvatore, but I miss being Ian. I miss my terrible mom and alcoholic dad. I miss my grandma's burnt cookies and my grandpa's bone breaking handshakes. I miss Isobel bossing me around. I miss not having to lie about who I am and how I feel. That's why I feel in love with you. You could see right through me. You could see Ian." Damon placed a soft kiss on Bonnie's forehead.

"I love you Ian Somerhalder. Never forget that," she said as she kissed him.

Day Seven

It was crunch time and still no word from Giuseppe. The Salvatore kids had been on edge all day, but Bonnie was dealing with a slightly different problem. She had to convince Katherine to leave Stefan. She was sure this wasn't going to go well. "Kat can we talk in the study?" she asked Katherine.

"Sure," Katherine said as she untangled herself from Stefan's arms. When they were in the study Katherine put on her signature smirk. "What's going on with you. You've been acting weird for a few days."

"I need you to do something huge for me," she begged.

"Okay, I'm almost scared to ask?"

"I went to Giuseppe's the other day. He told me he wanted me to leave with the baby, and you," she said.

"So he's going to give you the baby back?" Katherine asked.

"If we leave," Bonnie said. "I know you love Stefan, but I have to give my son a chance. He shouldn't live like this."

"And you can walk away from Damon?"

"I don't want to, but I'm out of option. I'm not leaving him forever. I just have to do something about now," Bonnie said.

"I'll do whatever I have to in order to help you," Katherine agreed.

A slow smile tugged at Bonnie's lips. She flung her arms around Katherine. "I swear I'm going to get you back to Stefan if it kills me," Bonnie promised her.

"Don't say that. Knowing Giuseppe it just might," Katherine grumbled.

"Thanks Kat."

Day Eight

Bonnie lay against Damon on the couch listening to his heartbeat as he slept. He sat up all night hoping his father would arrive with their son. Bonnie didn't want to leave him. He was the most amazing man she ever met. He challenged her to be better and experience all the pleasure to world had to offer. He treated her like a queen, and she knew she was the center of his world. He was never going to forgive her for this.

"Bonnie?" Damon panicked as he woke up.

"I'm right here," she said as she kissed his cheek.

Damon sat up and looked at the clock it was ten in the morning. "He's not coming," Damon groaned as he stood and kicked over the table.

"You don't know that Damon," she said as she kissed him. "Just be patient."

"It's been a week Bonnie."

"I'm going to make you something to eat," she said as she cupped his cheek.

By the time breakfast was done the back door opened and in walked Giuseppe with a carseat. "Is that him?" Bonnie asked.

"Yes it is," Giuseppe said taking him out and returning the child to his mother.

"He's so beautiful," Bonnie cried as she rocked her baby.

"And what we discussed has been taken care of?" he questioned.

"She agreed," Bonnie said.

"You leave in two days," he informed her.

"Bonnie I"-

"Father," Damon said as he approached them.

"I told you he'd bring our son home," Bonnie cried.

Damon walked over and stroked his son's head. The infant smiled as he settled into his mother's arms. He let out a yawn and blinked at his parents and smiled. Damon and Bonnie looked at each other and smiled. "He's so beautiful," Damon said as he kissed the crown of his head.

"You still need to name him," Giuseppe remainded him.

"Ian," Bonnie said. "His name is Ian Giuseppe Salvatore."

"It's perfect," Damon smirked.

"Ian is a great name," Giuseppe said as he left.

"I'm sorry you had to go through this," Damon said as he looked at his wife. "I'm so sorry."

Bonnie kissed him. "I'm your for better or worse. No matter where we are or what happens, my heart is always going to be with you," she promised him.

"I don't know how I got so lucky."

"I could say the same."
