Hello all. I'm so glad you guys are back. I know it has been forever since I'm updated, but here we are approaching the end of the story. These last few chapters will jump back and forth in time, but I hope you guys enjoy.

As for all of you wondering why Bonnie named Ian after Giuseppe it was a peace offering on behalf of the deal they struck. I left out a bit about when Bonnie was taken, and I'm trying to make up for it in the flashback of this chapter. Bonnie was put threw a lot she repressed.

To Hazel thanks for reading first off. I know human trafficking is a tremendous problem in much of the world. This story is not to make light of what those people go through, but to entertain. I'm sorry the fluffier approach I took to this story didn't resonate with you, but the dark version I started with, was not the vision that came into fruition.

Enjoy.

Rudy walked into Mystic Fall PD with his team's usual coffee order and Jaime close behind. "You got a visitor Hopkins, in room three," Officer Watson said as the pair entered.

"Were you expecting someone?" Rudy asked Jaime.

"No."

They entered the Special Victims floor and Liz walked up to Jaime redirecting him to the paperwork he'd been neglecting. Bill Forbes grabbed the goods from Rudy and Jonas lead Rudy to the interrogation room. "Who's in there?" Rudy asked.

"All I know is this man came here with a baby last night"-

-"He was here all night with a baby, and no one called."

"Harriet was trying to get him to talk. He said he knows about the trafficking case. The one you lost in that fire."

"Don't remind me, my vinyl collection will never be the same."

"You want to go in, or keep him waiting."

"The kid's been here all night with that baby. I want to get all the info I can and send him home."

"Such a caring father. After you, partner."

"Shut up."

Upon entering the room the man stood up cradling the baby close. "Mr. Hopkins it's a pleasure to finally meet you sir," he said sticking out his hand mindful to securely hold the sleeping infant.

"Do you mind?" Jonas asked reaching out for the baby.

"No, I don't," he smiled.

"What's his name."

"Ian."

"And you are?"

"That's a long story, but please call me Damon," Damon snorted.

"Okay, Damon, I hear you've been here all night waiting to talk to me. You know about a case I lost all the information for a few years ago?"

Damon sighed and ran his hands through his hair. "This is harder than I thought it would be," he chuckled. "My birth name is Ian Joseph Somerhalder. In 1994 my sister Isobel and I were taken. My sister was sold on the grounds that I'd stay and belong to the people that took us. I spent the last twenty years doing that. That's how I met my wife. She was also taken from her family, and she just understood how it felt to not need or want for anything, yet feel so helpless. I need help finding her. And in return I'll tell you everything, but you have to protect my brother and sister. They were born into this and I took the blunt of a lot so they'd never have to go through thi"-

Rudy pleased his hand on Damon's shoulder. "Let's worry about that later. What happened to your wife."

"My dad, the man that took me in. He sold her."

"What's your wife's name."

Damon took a deep breath. "Bonnie Shelia Bennett Hopkins Salvatore."

"What?" Rudy asked as Jonas stared in shock.

"I married your daughter Mr. Hopkins. And that's your grandson. I always intended to bring her home. My dad just had other plans for us."

"I'm going to get Jaime," Jonas said as he gave the baby back to Damon.

Rudy waited for the door to close before he spoke. "Bonnie is dead. We laid her to rest."

"I know you don't believe that. You never believed that. She called you on our wedding day. We were going to live right outside of town in Whitmore. That was the plan. Then my dad… He lured us back to Georgia and he made us believe he was dying and Bonnie got sick. He got the doctors to tell Bonnie that Ian was dead and she had them induce labor. And he took our son. He was going to sell him. But Bonnie made a deal with my father. He promised that if she left with Ian he wouldn't sell him. Which was a lie. He took Ian from her, and I have no idea where Bonnie and my brother's girlfriend Katherine."

"How long has Bonnie been with you," Rudy said in awe.

"She was brought to Georgia shortly after she was taken with a little boy and girl."

"Was she okay."

"Bonnie's a fighter. She wanted to protect Peter and Mia. She did whatever she could for them. She hated me at first. I think it's because we're so much alike. Then there was that period where she didn't want to like me," Damon chuckled. "She missed you guys so much and she didn't want to be happy without you all."

"But she was happy."

"I tried my hardest to make that happen. If I knew my dad would do any of this. I wouldn't have let her stay. I would have brought her back to you're a long time ago."

"What I don't get is why was she taken if you guys destroyed all the evidence I had."

Damon sighed. "When you came home. Richard was there. You shot at him and the shot killed him. His brother Mason came up with the plan. He got approval to sell Bonnie and she was taken. The thing is you're in her file and no one would buy her. Once I found out I offered to pay her asking price, and then my dad did it instead."

Bonnie walked the parameter of the dark room she was in. The windows were blacked out with curtains and an oddly familiar fear surged through her. Bonnie found the door and banged against it. "LET US OUT," she yelled. "PLEASE!" she cried.

Giuseppe had Ian and she needed to save her son. She had to get out of this room. "BONNIE!" she heard Katherine yell from the other side of the wall. "Bonnie!"

"KAT," Bonnie yelled.

"I can't see anything. But there's a hole in this wall," Kat low enough that Bonnie could hear.

"I feel it," Bonnie said once she found the hole. "Feel around for something we can use to make it bigger. There's a window in here maybe we can get out of it."

The girls frantically felt around their rooms for anything that could be of use. Katherine found a lose pipe connect to an old radiator. She tried and tried to get it lose, but the other end was still screwed in tight. Then she heard footsteps and they stopped right at the door in front of her. She heard the floor boards creak and the shuffle of their shoe against the hardwood as they turned to face the door. Katherine quickly slide back to the corner she woke up in.

"I hope you aren't being a naughty little girl Katerina," she heard from the other side of the door. Keys jiggled and she figured she was locked in from the outside. She listened quietly counting every time she heard a lock open. It took twelve locks for him to get to her.

Katherine's eyes slowly adjusted to the bright light the man carried into the room. He was tall athletic she'd need a little help to take him down. "Ah Katerina. The beautiful incarnation of Helena of Troy. Slayer of men, destroyer of happy homes. What a pleasure it is to make your acquaintance."

"Wish I could say the same, but I don't know you, care to or want to continue this conversation."

The man placed his hand over his heart. "I heard about that sliver tongue. And man, it's as sharp as I expected," He left the room momentarily he came back in with a tray of food. "Eat up, I was told to keep you two alive. For now."

"Why don't you just put us out of our misery already."

"Trust me," he said placing his hand over his heart. "I'd love to, but I have strict orders not to hack you and Bonnie into tiny pieces even though Bonnie deserves it."

-"What?"

"Has she not talked about me."

"No who are you anyway?"

"Ah I forget the interdiction thing all the time. I'm Kai, well Malachi. Yep my parents named me Malachi, like they expected me to be evil."-

"No way," Kat said forging offense.

"I know." Kat rolled her eyes. "I thought that Bonnie'd be over the little fit of anemia she had."

"What did you do to her?" Kat demanded.

"Oh, calm yourself. If it weren't for me you wouldn't have your best friend. You guys must really care about each other to give up the love of your lives for the other," Kai said putting his finger in his mouth and hacking.

"If you value your life you'd let us go before Stefan and Damon get their hands on you."

Kai laughed. "There's nowhere for you to run to if I let you go." Kai continued to laugh as he stood. "Eat your food. I don't want you to be skin and bone."

Kat watched as Kai left the room. She looked down at the sandwich and bottle of water.

Bonnie was listening to the exchange between Kai and Katherine. She didn't recall the name, but she did remember waking on a small plane and feeling like she was hit by a freight train. She was seated across from Mason. He was the only person on the plane besides the pilot. Bonnie tensed as he approached her room and unlocked the door. For a moment all she saw was a dark shadow as her eyes adjusted to the light.

"Bonnie Bennett, what a pleasure to make you acquaintance yet again," Kai said with a smirk. Then it hit Bonnie.

_Start Flashback_

"Bonnie, you need to hurry if we are going to make it back to the dorm before the warm body check," April yelled as they ran down the streets of Jakarta behind their roommate Kenzia. She took them to a local rooftop bar. Somehow time slipped away and they wound up at Kenzia's house. The streets were busy and bustling with people out and about.

"We need to hurry before we're noticeably late to roll call," Kenzia called to the pair behind her.

"How can you guys run. I think I'm still drunk," Bonnie said dodging a man with a food cart trying to cross in front of her.

"In two more blocks we can go through the temples to the campus kitchen," Kenzia said.

As the three girls walked across the street Bonnie got a weird feeling like someone was behind her. She looked and there was a guy in a hoody running behind them. She turned back around as they reached the temples that lead to the campus. Kenzia and April slowed in front of her. "You guys made it," Rika said as she held the back door open for them. "The sisters are waiting in the sitting room."

"We have to take the backstairs," Kenzia said as the four girls ran up to their room.

"I think I'm going to throw up," Bonnie whispered to April as she moved the food around on her plate.

"Same," April replied.

"I advised you to not to go out with Kenzia. She's serious about the party life," Rika laughed.

"I just wanted to show you Americans a good time. You'd think they'd know how to handle a few drinks."

"Contrary to the popular belief around here life in America is nothing like Gossip Girl or The OC," Bonnie said.

"Guys are defiantly not that hot everywhere you go," April added.

Bonnie and Kenzia walked around the Pasar Baru looking through the merchant's selection of fabric. Bonnie wanted to get a custom-made Saree. Kenzia was acting as her fashion consultant and translator. "Are you still thinking red and gold, because I don't think reds your color. I see you in a royal blue, or yellow," Kenzia said as she looked through the fabric.

"How about this," Bonnie said pulling a turquoise and gold textile.

"Busét Yo'I" Kenzia exclaimed.

"What?"

"Right you only know what they teach you in that textbook. It's slang. Busét is like OMG, and Yo'I means yes or cool."

"Busét Yo'I," Bonnie repeated.

"Close enough, let's go find the tailor."

"That's a beautiful color," a dark-haired man said as Bonnie and Kenzia turned.

"Thanks," Bonnie said getting a weird vibe.

"Do you mind if I go with you to get a cut of it. My sister is about your size and I've been looking for something like that to get a saree made for her."

"That would be fine," Kenzia said nudging Bonnie.

"Could you give us a second," Bonnie said pulling Kenzia out of ear shot.

"That's considered rude in Indonesia," Kenzia tsked.

"Well it's not smart to go off with people you don't know. He gives off a creepy vibe."

Kenzia sighed. "You're just not used to guys hitting on you like last night."

"Filling up a girl isn't romantic in America, it's harassment."

"Calm down. I know this market like the back of my hand. Nothing is going to happen. We get the textile cut up there, then I'll take you both to the tailor. There are a million people here, we'll be fine," Kenzia reassured her.

Bonnie sighed. "Fine."

"So, what's the verdict?" he asked.

"We'd be happy to help you out…?" Kenzia said.

"Oh, Kai," he smirked at Kenzia then landed his gaze on Bonnie. "I appreciate the help."

Kenzia talked to the tailor describing just what Bonnie wanted. "How long have you been here?" Bonnie asked tired of standing awkwardly next to Kai.

"I've been here in Jakarta a week. I'm traveling around Asia. A trip of self-discovery I guess you could call it."

"That's cool."

"How about you?"

"School."

"Oh, like a class trip."

"No, I'm getting a teaching degree here."

"Wow."

"Yep," Bonnie said looking up eagerly when Kenzia started to approach her. "What did she say."

"She wants us to go to the back so you can get measured," Kenzia said leading the way.

Kenzia was the first to step in the tiny back room. It was filled with textiles and little room. "Are you sure this is the right room it looks like a closet," Bonnie said as the door slammed behind them.

"Of course, this is the right room Bonnie Bennett," Kai smirked. He held a small gun with a silencer on the end, and pointed at Kenzia. "If either of you screams, or moves I'll kill you both," Kia said.

The door opened and the seamstress walked in. Kai quickly grabbed the young girl and closed the door. "To prove I'm serious," Kai said he pointed the gun at the woman's head and without hesitation pulled the trigger. The girls screamed and Kai sighed. "Not screaming was the first thing I said. Gees, listen," he said half-hazardly waving the gun around and using a piece of fabric to wipe the blood from his face. Kai walked behind them and knocked down a tower of textiles. Behind the stack was a door and April was on the other side. "April!" Kenzia yelled.

"Oh Bonnie, Kenzia," she yelled then smirked.

"You're working with him," Bonnie accused.

"Sadly," April laughed. "I have to clean up his mess. I'll erase all traces of you and you'll never be heard from again," April laughed. "Have a safe trip," she said.

"You bitch," Bonnie yelled and spit at her.

"Hey," the screaming is making me nervous. Will I have to kill her too to get the message across," Kai said pointing the gun at Kenzia again.

"Bonnie," she said in a soft plea.

"Fine," Bonnie spoke up. "I won't say a word just let us go."

"Not a chance," Kai smirked. "Go he said motioning to the back stairwell with his head.

Bonnie grabbed Kenzia's hand and they walked down the dark stairwell to the alley were a small car was waiting. "Get in," Kia said and the both complied.

"Bonnie," Kenzia cried. "I'm sorry."

"You didn't know," Bonnie said trying to figure a way out of this.

"I should have listened to you, now…"

"It's not your fault."

"Awe how sentimental of you," Kai said. "Kenzia we all know this is your fault. You were easy to trap. But It's Bonnie I really need. So," Kai turned around and put a bullet in Kenzia's head right between her eyes. Bonnie yelled and cried. "Bullseye," Kai laughed hard. "You get it. Bullseye the bullet went between her eyes."

"What is your problem?" Bonnie yelled as she held Kenzia's body and felt the warmth slowly disappear from it.

"I'm a sociopath. It helps with the whole hired hitman thing," he smiled at Bonnie through the rearview mirror, "You know that expression do what you love."

After what felt like forever Bonnie and Kai arrived at an empty plot of land that was secluded. Kai got out something out of the trunk. There were no handles in the back of the car and it was made like a taxi cab so there was only the small hole Kai used to shoot Kenzia as a way to the front. After Kai was finished getting what he needed from the trunk he opened the door on the side Kenzia was on. He dragged her body out of the car. Bonnie watched as Kai walked to a pile of wood and threw Kenzia's body on top. Bonnie used that as her chance to escape. She took off running towards the trees hoping if she made it in to them she'd be able to hide from him.

Kai groaned as he heard the pitter patter of Bonnie's feet as they took off. He soon took off after her. Bonnie looked behind her happy Kai left the gun in the car. She ran as fast as she could then she felt something hit her from behind. As she fell to the ground she saw the pile of wood Kenzia's body was on engulfed in flame. "You'd think after the first time you'd pick up on how important following the rules is," Kai said pick up the piece of wood he threw at her, and hitting her over the head with it.

_End Flashback_

"You killed Kenzia," she cried.

"You do remember me, Kat is a liar," Kai chuckled. "You know I couldn't get you out of my mind. You were so cunning at the club, then trying to run in the woods. You've been the most energizing case I've picked up for these people."

"You're sick." Bonnie yelled.

"Awe, bad Kai," he said hitting his own hand chastising.

"Let us go!"

Kai ran the back of his hand down Bonnie's cheek. "If only," he smirked. "Eat up," he said leaving the room.
