Hi guys one more chapter. I hope you enjoy this. it's not edited so excuse any mistakes.
Shelia Bennett always felt a connection to the divine. Something inside of her was good at predicting the strangest things. She shared this ability with her daughter who was known to have a sixth sense about everything. That's why when Abby showed up at her mother's door early in the morning in a panic. Shelia was ready with tea and breakfast.
Abby sipped her tea and looked down at her phone. "I know that Rudy is calling about Bonnie, but my heart can't take anymore," she cried.
Shelia smiled. She took Abby's phone and answered it. "Rudy what's going on?" Shelia asked.
"I really need to speak to Abby it's really important."
"She's having a Nervous Nelly day I've got you on speaker."
"I figured as much. Honey, I need you to come to the station and you too Shelia. It's really important that you guys get here fast. I'm sending Jaime to get you guys."
"Please tell me what happened," Abby said with a shaky voice.
"I want to do this in person."
They sat in silence in the car. "James Malcolm Bennett-Hopkins, if you don't tell us what's going on."
"Dad wants to, I can't. I told him I wouldn't," Jaime said as he raced down the street. Once he pulled up to the station he released a sigh of relief.
Jaime escorted his mother and grandmother in to the interrogation room across from the one Damon and Ian were in. Liz came in with tea. "Good morning Mrs. Bennett. Hi Abby," She said embracing her long-time friend.
Jaime used Liz as a way to sneak out unnoticed. "Dad Liz is in there now, you better get in before it's too late," Jaime informed his father.
Rudy was cradling Ian in his arms as the tiny infant slept. Rudy gently handed the infant off to his father. "Sheila is a tough nut to crack but I'm sure Ian will throw her off," Rudy said as he left the room.
Jaime sized up the man before him. He couldn't help but wonder what it was about him that his baby sister fell in love with. The fact that he was a trafficker should have been enough to snuff any feeling she had for him. He'd blame it all on Stockholm if the man's eye didn't glisten whenever he spoke about Bonnie. Bonnie had her whole life ahead of her and he and his family stole that. They stole her from her family.
"I know there's nothing I can say to take away the sting of what's happened," Damon said after he noted the fire in Jaime's eyes. "I want to fix this, all of it."
"You can't give Bonnie her life back. She had family, friends, a career. Things in life she wanted to do and see, and you took that away from her," Jaime said mindful of his tone as Ian slept.
"That's true, but I'm hoping that what I'm giving her will be unexpected and something better then she could imagine," Damon said not backing down from Jaime's gaze.
When Rudy entered the interrogation room all eyes were on him. It was still and quiet as he stood in the doorway. "I'll catch up with you later Abby," Liz said. She turned to the door and gave Rudy a small reassuring smile.
Rudy stepped into the room and sat next to his wife. He grabbed her hand and looked lovingly into her eyes. "I know that you never believed Bonnie was really gone and that we'd never see her again. I know how saying goodbye was hard for you… Abby, I have someone here that knows how we can find her."
Abby instantly started to sob. Her baby girl was out there, and she was coming home. She wrapped her arms around her husband. "Thank god you found her," Abby cried.
Rudy kissed the top of her head. "She's still in trouble we haven't found her quite yet."
"But someone knows where she is?" Sheila asked.
"He thinks he does," Rudy smiled.
"I need to see him. I need to thank him," Abby cried.
Rudy looked his wife over to assess if she was ready for the rest of the story. The questioning look he found, told him she was. "Bonnie was kidnapped by the traffickers that burned up my office."
"Oh, God."
"She's been fine. She wasn't sold, but she met someone. They apparently got married and she had a baby. A little boy named Ian." Rudy paused. "He's here. Her husband Damon and he has Ian."
"I want to see them," Abby said. She stood and looked down at her husband.
"He's in custody. This is really messy Abbs, I'm waiting for Captain to come in and approve it."
"I want to see them NOW Rudolph," Abby yelled.
Rudy looked up at his wife. "Abigail."
She cocked her head to the side and glared at him. Sheila snickered to herself.
"If I get fired I warned you," he said teasingly.
"Let's go detective."
Rudy lead the women to the dark room on the other side of the interrogation room Damon, Jaime, and Ian were in. He watched as Jaime slowly took the crying infant from Damon, so he could prepare a bottle.
"What happened to my baby. Why isn't she with them?"
"He said his father didn't want he and Bonnie together. His father wanted to be able to control Damon, and he knew if Damon had something to fight for, he wouldn't be able to control him. Damon is the Somerhalder boy. The one that was take from Disney with his sister. We have located her, but he doesn't know she's dead."
"What happened to her?"
"This Giuseppe guy is sending a strong message to Damon. He wants him to come out of hiding, but he doesn't know he's here. At least not yet. We need to wait for the feds, so we can cross state lines. His brother was searching for her and thinks she's in Alaska," Rudy said careful not to tell Abby and Sheila too much.
"I can't believe my baby had a baby," She cried as she held on to Rudy. "I want to see him."
"Abby we need to think about the red tape. He is unofficially under arrest, and the baby…"
"You better not let social services take that baby," Shelia said breaking her silence. "We're his next of kin and that baby isn't spending another night in this shit hole."
"That's for the social worker to decide," Rudy said.
"There is no way in hell my great-grandson is staying here and if that little floosy thinks she's going to send him to a foster family, she has another thing coming."
Bonnie and Katherine trekked track throw the snow to the cabin on the other side. It was an intense journey, but she was hoping that they'd find warmth and safety. "I'm sorry I got you into this Kat, I knew in my gut that I couldn't trust Giuseppe, but I just wanted my son to be safe. Now I don't know if I'll ever see him or Damon again," She cried.
Katherine sighed. "I'm a big girl Bonnie, I can make decisions on my own. I don't regret being here with you, I regret you crying with all this wind hitting you face," she snickered.
Bonnie laughed as they got closer to the small cabin. Bonnie could hardly believe they made it this afar. She was feeling hopeful again, and that was odd. "I feel good about this she cried."
"If you don't stop with the tears!" Katherine groaned.
Katherine knocked at the cabin door. It didn't take long for the door to open and a middle age Indian man stood before them. "Hi, we're in danger and we need help. Can we use your phone?" Katherine asked.
The man just stared at them and then stepped aside. Katherine looked at Bonnie as she led the way inside. "Raj who's at the door?" another man asked coming into the tiny living area.
"Ooohh, who are you?" he asked deepening his voice.
"I'm Bonnie and this is my sister-in-law Katherine, I need to call my husband do you guys have a phone we can use?" she asked in a warm gentle voice.
"Of course, we do milady. That would be here in the kitchen come follow me," He said. He led them to the kitchen and there were two other men and a young girl with blond hair.
"Great more women in our fortress of solitude."
"That's Sheldon, Lenard, Penny, you met Raj, and I'm Howard," said with a wink.
"Thanks so much for helping us out. I don't know what we'd do if we didn't find you," Katherine smiled as she fidgeted under Howard's gaze.
"You guys must be freezing let me get you some dry clothes and blankets," Penny said leaving the room.
Bonnie noticed that the one named Sheldon was focused on them and he looked angry. Katherine caught her line of sight and had to stifle the smartass comment hanging on her lips. She started to hum, and Bonnie knew soon Katherine would erupted. "Where is the phone again?" Bonnie asked.
"Here you are milady," Howard said.
"Thank you so much," Bonnie said accepting the huge cordless that looked like it came straight out of an 80's movie. Bonnie moved over to a private corner with Katherine and attempted to call Damon. She got an out of service message. She forgot that it was time for them to change numbers when Ian was born. She tried Stefan and got the same message.
"I think they changed sim cards already," Bonnie said with panic in her voice.
"Here," Katherine dialed Tyler and it ring. Sweet, ol', dependable Tyler, she thought.
