Author's Note: Eyo! So this fic is a lot of fun to read. I've always loved the Supernatural stuff. And as for how this world works, don't worry a chapter will be dedicated to explaining how they all work. This chapter dabbles a tiny bit, at least the main two. Anyways, R&R

CH 3: The Supernatural of Remnant
After making it back to my house the other day I just sat on my couch and thought. So I'm pretty sure that Coco was a vampire, I mean what else could she have been you know? She was seductive, which any vampire show or movies I've seen, that's something they all have in common. She was fast as fuck, which only a couple seem to go by. And then the obvious biting and drinking of my blood from my neck. I raised my hand and touched the piece of cloth on the left side of my neck. Being the next morning I've had time to think about it. I decided to keep it to myself since that one guy in the woods basically threatened me to keep quiet. I park Crescent Eclipse in my usual spot, setting my book bag onto my bike's left handle and wait for my friends. All three arrived at the same time and exited their vehicles
"Yo Michael I saw you leave yesterday with that Coco girl, you get some action?" Gen asked with a smirk
"Uh, sure did" I said, trying to sound convincing. They all three looked at me with a raised eyebrow
"That didn't sound convincing, did it not go the way you wanted?" Laga asked. Alright I just need to embrace the lie
"No it wasn't that, just the first time I had sex in an ally way. Apparently she couldn't wait ten more minutes" I said with a shrug
"W-what?" Laga asked, going red. Gen laughed so hard she had to hold her stomach while Nelson laughed
"I did not expect that from you Michael" Nelson said as we started walking off towards Beacon
"I didn't really want to, but she was too attractive to pass up. I mean did you see her dude?" I cringed at the words as I remembered the real encounter. Laga's eyes went wide when she saw the piece of cloth on my neck
"Michael… What's that on your neck?" She asked
"Oh uh, turns out she's a uh, masochist. While we were going at it she said to bite her neck, and I guess it wasn't hard enough. So she said 'Like this' And bit my neck" I said trying to play it off as a normal kink. But Laga went quiet and looked at Gen who nodded "Uh guys?"
"I don't think you should see her anymore" Laga said calmly
"I mean it was just a one time thing, and it's just a kink" I said with a questioning look, even though I agree with them
"Yeah I agree with Michael, it's just a kink" Nelson said, agreeing with me
"Just stay away from her Michael" Gen said in a commanding tone. It was normal for Gen, but for some reason this feels different than her usual demanding demeanor as her pink eyes stared directly into mine
"O-Okay" I said, breaking eye contact. I mean I was gonna stay away from the crazy bitch anyways… still the thought of vampires existing is crazy. I reached for my scroll in my bookbag and didn't feel it "Fuck! I forgot my book bag! I'll meet you guys in class" I yelled as I turned around to head back to my bike. I quickly grab my bag and reach into my bag to grab my scroll and check my notifications "I got a message from an unknown number?" I opened the message
[Unknown] You know, I didn't know you had a pup as a friend, otherwise I wouldn't have tried to have some fun last night
My eyes widened as I read the message. A pup? What the hell dose that even mean? Oh, the wolf… but that didn't look like a pup to me, she's a fully grown damn wolf… wait how the hell did she get this number?
[Michael] How the fuck did you get my number?
[Coco] Your friend Nelson gave it to me
[Michael] What? He would have told me
[Coco] Oh no he didn't, when I asked him normally he said no. Which is why I made him do it, without his consent or knowledge
What the hell is that supposed to mean? I notice the time on my scroll and throw it back into my bag and book it to Beacon. I don't know why but I've always been good at running, whether it be speed or how long I could run. That's actually how I got my scholarship into beacon, I was on track in highschool at signal, top of the team. Though I decided to focus on my classes rather than track at Beacon, which the headmaster was okay with surprisingly. I rounded a corner and ran straight into someone, all I saw was a flash of red
"Oof" the girl said as we both fell to the ground. She was also in a hurry and was carrying some of her books, which were actually spilled onto the floor "Aw darn!" The girl yelled as she scrambled to pick up the books. I quickly kneel down to help her
"Oh sorry I was in my head and wasn't paying attention" I said picking up her history book
"Oh no it was my fault… I was also in my head. A lot of… new things have happened recently so I'm trying to deal with it" She said as she seemed to stop picking up the books "Oh right! Sorry! you don't need to hear about my personal issues… b-but Thanks for helping me pick my stuff up" She said as I handed her the books I picked up
"Nah you're fine, I don't mind helping really… And the past few day's for me have been interesting" I said as I scratched the back of my head
"Ha yeah I know" She said with a smile. I blinked for a moment and thought about what she said 'I know' does she know about Coco?
"Wait what?" I asked her. She looked at me with a quirked eyebrow, and then realization
"Oh! I-I'm sorry that's n-not w-wh-what I meant I swear! I meant I know a-as in like I know how it's like to have uhm… a few days of weird occurrences that you knew would eventually come, rushing onto you all at once in just a few days" She said as we both stood up from the ground
"Uhm it's a little different for me" I said as the bell rang throughout the school "Fuck! We better hurry to class" I said as I started to book it at my top speed, assuming she would lag way behind. But to my surprise she caught up, and even passed me
"Hurry up slowpoke!" She laughed. What the hell? Well that's the first. Ruby easily beat me to the first class without a break of a sweat "Ah! I've won!"
"Ruby it wasn't a race" I said as I came up from behind her and stopped, slightly out of breath
"Hey, how do you know my name?" She asked with a confused look
"Oh sorry, I heard your friend Weiss and your friend Yang say your name" I said as I scratched the back of my head, which I now realize I have been doing a lot recently
"Oh no, Yang is my sister, well since you know my name, what's yours?" She asked as she looked up to me. She's gotta be like 5'3, since she's a little shorter than Laga. She also seems to like her red and black color pallet. Today she's wearing a red short sleeve shirt with the same black boots and shorts from the beginning of the week but this time instead of leggings, she's wearing fishnets. And I guess while we were running her hood fell off as I could see a new addition atop her head of medium long hair. A pair of Faunus wolf ears. They're black with red tips, just like her hair. And that wolf, a very weird coincidence. I then realized I have yet to answer her question and have been staring at her this entire time
"Oh sorry, My name's Michael Vahill" I said as I opened the door to English class. Ruby walked in and I followed behind her. The teacher looked at us with angry eyes
"Ms. Rose and Mr. Vahill. You two are very lucky that you are good at this class. Now sit down" The teacher said. Ruby and I went to our seats and sat down. I looked at the clock and that's when I realized how much I messed up. We were ten minutes late… We talked for ten minutes as we walked to class? I mean we even ran here! I blocked the thought and focused back on class. The day went by pretty fast, but when history came along it was quite interesting
"Alright class, so today is going to be a free study. As in you can read up on all the topics for the next week and I'll be here to answer any and all of your questions. Or if you would prefer you can tag up with someone who knows about said subject, which is about the Grimm and how humanity has made them nothing more than a nuisance, rather than an unmovable force of mother nature" After he said that I was honestly happy. Free class for me pretty much since I know all about this subject. So I pull out my scroll and check my messages
[Coco] Let's just say I have the ability to make people do what I want, and Nelson did exactly what I want… However he's not the one I want
[Coco] Ignoring me? Oh right, school. Well I'll see you later
I looked at the past messages and thought about past events
"Who's that?" Ruby asked from behind me. I almost jumped out of my seat out of shock
"God damn you're fucken quiet" I said as I closed my scroll "Just some crazy bitch that keeps texting me"
"You know, you curse a lot" She said with a deadpan expression
"Yeah well don't sneak up on me" I said as she sat down next to me. I looked at her a little confused
"Oh! Right, uhm I was u-uh wonder i-if you could uhm… you're good at history right? You're always quiet in this class and seem to never pay attention, but I'm assuming it's because you know everything already" She said
"Wow, good intuition" I said as I sat up straight in my seat "And you probably suck ass at history because you think it's boring and not important to think about the past" As I said it she seemed to falter for a second, but she recovered with a smile
"Looks like I'm not the only one with good intuition. But yes… I'm really bad at history and would like you to walk me through the whole Grimm thing. I only really know a little bit about it, like how the Grimm grew weaker right?" She asked
"Okay well since that's all you know, I'll start from the beginning. So back in the day I'm sure you already know that the Grimm prayed on humans. However once we made more advancements we overpowered the Grimm quiet easily. Borders have expanded to a point that they're no longer a threat… at least to those who are armed for them. There are areas of black pools that keep making Grimm from almost nothing, as if the pools are almost infinite in the amount that it can make. And they do get through, and most get killed, but some make their way all the way through, which is why we have certain divisions that specialize in that, like the Homicide and Grimm division. Let's just say there used to be a job title called Hunter, they kept small villages safe from Grimm when they were a threat. Let's just say ever since we made the Grimm no longer a threat, the hunters all had to do something else. So the divisions were made in order to give them jobs. I mean you can't just take hundreds of thousands of people and just take their job away. So the governments made specialized divisions to accommodate their certain talents. But now we live in a time of peace with all four kingdoms. That's pretty much the short version" I said. Ruby looked at me and her eyes told me that everything I just said probably went into one ear and out the other
"I'm sorry… that's the short version?" She asked
"Yeah. There's certain battles, documents, events, people, etc. that are also important to how we fended off the Grimm. Honestly it's why there is another class dedicated to just the history of Grimm, because there's so much of it. Though we don't need to know everything" I said as Ruby's head fell onto the table next to her and she groaned
"And I need to know all of it?" She asked
"Well not all of it of course, but most of it" I said, laughing at her second groan
"I guess I'll take this fail then, wish I had a mentor or something for history but I don't have the lien for it" She said, raising her head with a pout. Which got me thinking, my second career path was a history teacher, maybe I could be her mentor
"Hey, what about I teach you about this stuff? I mean I love history and know all about it. Plus I don't really need lien so you don't need to pay me" I asked. Her head snapped in my direction with a big smile. That made me smile
"Really? When are you free, because let's just say, this little head doesn't have much going on when it comes to history" She said with a sheepish laugh
"Uh, after class in the study room in building five, I think it's open all day and night during the week, but close it during the weekend" I said with a shrug
"Alright, sounds like a plan teach" Ruby said with a cute smirk as she threw her hand to her forehead, in a very sloppy salute. With that I talked a little more but in more detail about the history of humanity and Grimm. Ruby seemed to listen with interest, which I thought was weird considering she usually zones out during class. But once the bell rang we were out of the class and heading to building five. Each building has a study room but building five is the smallest, so the least amount of people go there. And Beacon has eighteen main buildings, twenty five overall. To put that in comparison a normal university only has four main buildings and ten overall
We made it to the room and sat in the back near the history section of the room. Each study room is basically a mini library, but you don't have to be quite like you do in a library since we use it to study. So these are a way to separate those who want to study and research into two different rooms "Alright time to dive into history!" Ruby exclaimed with a surprising amount of excitement. But after two hours that excitement went away, and was replaced by what seemed to be boredom "Can we take a break?" Ruby asked with a put that was impossible to say no too
"Fine, but only twenty minutes" I said with a smile as I closed one of the books I was using for a specific battle that was important to the subject
"Alright then I'm gonna head to the bathroom, be back in a sec" She said, running off with speed that I still couldn't understand. That's when I started to think
"I wonder if they have anything about vampires?" I asked myself as I stood up and started to look in the horror section. I don't know if I'll find it here but that's all I could explain about the event's that I experienced. I looked for a few minutes and found an old looking book. I grab it and read the title "The Supernatural of Remnant? Vampires are considered supernatural right?" I go back to my table and open the book "Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, all supernatural beings. Do they exist? I don't know, but this book contains everything I have gathered whether it be just a story or an 'eye witness' that all have things in common" I turn the page and see a chapter page, pretty much the chapters names and when they start. The first part seems to be dedicated to vampires
I move to the first chapter and read the first line "Vampires, from what I have been able to gather, at least everything that have certain things in common is that they are undead that live. They have almost impossible speed, strength, and hearing, but the most common information among them is that they can't come out at night" So Coco wasn't a vampire? Then what was she. I moved ahead in the chapter "And from what I could gather, they're different kinds of vampires. And it seems a normal vampire is actually the most rare. Succubus are commonly thought to be vampires, but the biggest difference is that they can walk in the daylight, though they're much weaker, slower, and their hearing is actually the same as a human, it's how mother nature balances itself. To most sources there are three main forces of mother nature that are considered the apex. Two predators and then her children, those being, werewolves, which aren't like normal werewolves to our knowledge. From what I can tell our most common form of werewolf is actually called Lycan, while werewolves are Faunus who can transform into actual wolves, Vampires I have already talked a little about but soon will go into much more detail. Those are the two Apex predators, however then there's mother nature's children, the witches. Only female humans are capable of this ability. However I'll go into more detail about those two later, for now back onto Vampire types-"
"Hey! I didn't know you were into the supernatural" Ruby said as she jumped behind me, making me jump out of my seat with a scream
"Holy shit you scared the hell out of me Ruby!" I yelled as I set the book down, but she grabbed it
"A book about vampires huh?" Ruby asked as she moved to a section and held a smirk "Vampires, Blood lusted demons of the night, one of the two apex predators of the night… Wait, this book isn't only about vampires?" She asked as she moved to the title of the book "The Supernatural of Remnant"
"Yeah, the first page are details of what each chapter is about" I said as she moved
"Werewolves chapter two… they don't get chapter two huh. So why the sudden interest" Ruby looked at me with her silver eyes. And for some reason I actually looked at her, she looks younger than me, but not by much. Her long hair covering her left eye as she asked me the question, her silver eyes are like mirrors. I realized again that I was staring at her again
"Oh uh j-just something I've been thinking about recently" Her cheeks have a slight red hue
"Uhm… Which one do you like more? The vampires or werewolves?" She asked. A weird question, but I'm not really looking for information on werewolves
"Uhm, it's not really a like, but I'm only interested in vampires. Actually I haven't read anything about werewolves so I don't really know. Never been interested in the supernatural topic until now" I said honestly. She seemed upset by the information "I'm assuming you prefer werewolves"
"Ha, yeah… I've always liked this sort of stuff you know. You could say it was my family's obsession, so it became mine. But that's all it is, My goal in life is to be a detective" She said with a sigh
"Same, my mom was a detective, so that's what I've always wanted" I said thinking about her stories
"Was?" Ruby asked
"Oh uhm… Yeah she was uh, killed when she went to Vale for one of her cases" I said. I should try to change the subject, I don't know how long I can talk about her before breaking "Hey uhm how about we continue the study huh?"
"Oh yeah, sorry if I brought something up that you didn't want to remember" Ruby said apologizing. Her Faunus ears folded down as she looked at me apologetically
"Nah it's fine, I don't want to bore you with my issues, especially when you probably have a loving family. Anyways let's get back to studying" I said as I closed the book and put it in my bag and opened the book from before
"Yeah… Loving" Ruby said as she pulled her hood up "Uhm hey I'm gonna head home… Do you want to help me tomorrow? To tutor me tomorrow I mean" She asked
"Uhm sure I guess, if you want. What time do you want to study tomorrow?" I asked
"Actually… I-I was wondering if you wanted to have my uh… my number?" She asked, her face going as red as her namesake
"Oh uh, if you want, yeah sure" I pulled out my scroll and handed it to her. Her fingers flicked across the hard light screen and smiled when she finished and handed me my scroll back
"A-Alright, I'll see you, or I guess I'll text you later" She picked all her stuff up and exited the study room with a smile and wave. I gathered my things and pulled up my scroll
[Michael] Testing, some stranger put her number in my phone
[Ruby] This is stranger, The test has worked and I have received your message, over
I laugh to myself at the message. I walk out of the study room and head to the parking lot, my bike being the only vehicle in sight I hop on and pull out my scroll
[Michael] Alright well message me tomorrow when you want to study with me alright?
[Ruby] Alright will do. Knowing my small brain when it comes to history I'll probably need more time tomorrow than what we had today. But yeah I'll let you know alright
[Michael] Alright then see you tomorrow
[Ruby] Yeah see you tomorrow :)
I smiled as I turned on my bike and went home to my apartment before I started getting a call. I pull out my scroll and read the text "Dad" I answer the phone and pull it up to my ear "Hey dad, how have you been?"
"How have you been? I know you asked me, but I want to know first, so spill about that Coco girl" He said
"Let me guess, Gen told Sarah, and Sarah told you. How close am I?" I asked him with a knowing tone
"Well Gen and your sister Sarah are best friends. But yes that is how I found out… So is there something there?" He asked. I laughed at the sudden question
"No it was just a fling really" I said as I grabbed a pan to make some grilled cheese
"Just a fling? When are you gonna find someone Michael, you've never dated a girl… Son if you're still in the closet I promise me and your sister will accept you-"
"Dad! I just have better things to worry about rather than women. I'm just not looking for a relationship when I'm trying to get my education, it'll just distract me. After I graduate dad I promise I'll find someone and give ya a grand kids" I said, flipping the sandwich
"Kid? As in you only want one. Well at least I know you've been thinking about it" There was a sudden loud noise on the other line
"DAD! Is that Michael?!" A hyper active voice yelled from the other line
"Yes it is, do you want to say-" It sounded like the girl snatched the scroll out of the man's hands as he didn't finish his statement
"Hey bro! When are you coming to visit? It's been forever" She pouted from the other line
"Sis, it's been two weeks. I can't visit every week. I have to focus on school so I can graduate" I can basically see the pout now "Look sis, how about next weekend I come over with Gen, Laga, and Nelson? You haven't seen them in a long ass time" I proposed
"Ahhh! Really?" She asked, smiling through her teeth
"Yeah sure sis. Well I have to get to bed, I got to tutor this girl tomorrow" I said, finishing my meal
"Oh?" I can tell that the smile has been replaced with a smirk
"Yeah don't tell dad, he'll read into it. Anyways have a good night Sar, I love you guys" I said
"We love you to bro, goodnight" Sarah hung up the scroll and I tossed it onto my nightstand onto the wireless charger
"Well I'll let the group know first thing tomorrow. I probably have to go to the store tomorrow since I don't really have good food. If Ruby's gonna be here then I'll need to get some actual food… Time for sleep" I wonder why I talk to myself before I sleep. I turn over in my bed and lock eyes with my book bag… The Supernatural of Remnant huh, I'll read more later
Author's Endnote: Hey! I liked this chapter, but to date it is the longest one I've spent writing, mostly because I know where I want to go next , but thought it'd be too soon. So I did some character filler stuff. Actually the next chapter should hopefully be up by this Sunday, don't quote me on it, but yeah, so that book huh, I wonder who wrote it?
