Chapter 20

And the Bells Ring

Kurt's words were true. He and the girls had all been pampered after breakfast, going to the salon, having their nails and hair and makeup done and Kurt even let someone else participate in his care regimen. He still had final say and according to Santana, he took over halfway through and changed the whole look to suit his image. It gave the hairdresser time to work on the others. Even then Kurt came in with what he thought was best for each.

He'd already told the hair dresser what he waned ahead of time, and they'd agreed on looks and had a practice run with each but he was being extra picky today. They all tolerated it with a smile, glad to see Kurt that way. They'd expected him to be a Bridegroomzilla for the last six months and while he'd had moments, he'd either been too busy or too out of it to do much and even when he was feeling better, he'd had an unnatural calmness and ease about things once he was assured everything was in place. Besides, he'd make sure they looked their best.

He protested when they urged him out of their room so they could get dressed in their dresses. He'd seen them all even more skimpily dressed without wanting to, but they insisted he should spend time with his boys too.

He made sure they all looked good too and they also kicked him out when it became time to get dressed. He protested that they'd all gotten used to him being in the room when they changed and some of the ones in the room were also gay. They reassured him that it wasn't because of that. That they wanted him to spend time with his dad, going through the whole father-son motions prior to the wedding. His dad helped him get dressed in his own tux and he didn't kick Kurt out when he struggled into his own contraption, or he grumbled as he dealt with the suspenders.

Kurt laughed and helped his dad into his tux and made sure all the lines looked right, as he had planned. "You look good."

"Not as good as you do." Both Sebastian and Kurt were going to wear white. Black tuxes were nice looking and all but there would be plenty of events in their future where they'd be able to wear the traditional look and cut (though Kurt would never!). Kurt had worried briefly about the white and their ability to keep it clean. Sebastian promised to be his protector in this too and Kurt would naturally make sure nothing marred Sebastian's Tux.

The current Hummel men talked as they got ready and had a moment and Burt almost sent Kurt into a tizzy when he hugged his son once they were ready to go. Which set them back a few minutes because after the initial upset, Kurt hugged his dad tightly in return and then set about to make sure there were no wrinkles or anything out of place. There was a photographer capturing all the precious moments, following Kurt around to all his stops. Sebastian had his own photographer with him. His moments with Isabelle, his own parents as they helped him get dressed, hugs and tears on all the faces and the acts to clean it up, making sure everything was in place.

They were picture perfect and they headed out with the wedding party to take pictures. Sebastian grinned when he saw Kurt who had the same look in his own eyes. Their looks were captured digitally and there were a lot more photos of the couple, in a variety of poses with and without their wedding party and parents, in attendance.

They were all wearing a deep burgundy, Kurt and Sebastian had matching ties but they were also accented with a burnt orange. The setting was in a greenery and the flowers were vibrant and the greens intense. Their pictures turned out to be magically perfect. There were a few funny poses and faces too. More would come after the ceremony, Kurt didn't want a single wrinkle until after the ceremony and a few more pictures then they could go wild.

Sebastian turned to follow instructions, Kurt's instructions, but was surprised when Kurt caught his hand and spun him back around. He was tugged down by his necktie and Kurt's lips pressed quickly over his. "Last chance Mr. Smythe, to back out."

"Never." Sebastian held Kurt's gaze. "You?"

Kurt shook his head, a large smile pulling on his lips so Sebastian got a rare treat of his teeth being brandished. "Never." A photo caught them in that pose and with the kiss. Kurt smoothed the tie back into place, the look captured by yet another picture. They were both so used to it by now, and these were invited, so they didn't try to hide their closeness, their intimate moments. "See you in a few."

"Too long." Sebastian slid his lips across Kurt's one last time and thumbed off some of the moisture they created.

If they didn't like some of the photos, they could delete them. They never imagined some of these unexpected moments would be some of their favorite photos of the day.

The strands of the music played and they hurried to their spots with one last whisper of "I love you" between them and while they were separating now, soon they'd be joining together for forever.

The music was to signal everyone to sit down and there were four doors. The doors open and the lights dimmed a little and along each of the pews were ribbons and flowers wrapped in white gauze and white string lights. Each of the flowers were lit up with white lights. It was breathtaking.

The girls came from two directions while the guys came from the other two and they joined up at the V and then entered the pinnacle and then separated again to form the lines that would support the main couple. Burt stood in the center at the podium and the audience was seated diagonally so they could see everything at once.

Then the music changed and everyone stood up, looking for the doors that Kurt and Sebastian would enter from. They didn't walk down the aisles, instead, they were lowered on swing-style chairs from above, the ropes were wrapped in lights and white gauze too and they met at the center of the podium at the same time, together and they reached out to hold each other's hands and walked the final steps so they were toe to toe. The audience was floored, totally not expecting that and it was so beautiful. Even the wedding party hadn't known that was the plan. The song choice was perfect too. They had Tina and Mike singing from the rafters they were lowered down from. There You Are by Zayn, it was perfect for them and this moment.

Burt settled everyone down and started speaking. He went through the traditional motions and gave a speech about love and love pertaining to these two. Then he nodded for the two of them. Sebastian turned to the crowd. "We have always done things a little differently. We're going to do our vows differently too. We had a private ceremony between the two of us where we went sappy and told each other exactly what we would and wouldn't do to make this relationship last forever. We don't want to deprive you of everything though, so we thought we'd do something very much us."

Kurt didn't need the microphone, his voice was trained to reach all the corners of the room without it but still used it to save his voice from too much strain, to not push his body too far yet. Still, he had difficulty getting through it without his emotions breaking through. He struggled on but he managed it. He sang Close To You by R3HAB and Andy Grammer. He still had tears in his eyes as he sang his feelings.

Can't fight the force of nature
It's beyond my control
Some things don't need explaining
Some things are already known
That I will always be close to you

Just like the ocean
Can't leave the shoreline
Just like the sun can't
Help but to shine on through
This heart was made to be close to you

Just like the days can't
Escape the nights, I'm
Just like a shadow
Can't leave your side, it's true
This heart was made to be close to you

It's in my constitution
It's in my DNA
Impossible to lose it
You live inside of me
And I will always be close to you

This heart was made to be close to you

Burt sniffled after Kurt finished and he glanced at his dad, he also had tears in his eyes and he was trying to dab at them with the back of his hand. "If you cry, I'm going to cry." He warned.

"Sebastian?" Burt asked, trying to abide by Kurt's wishes but it was a struggle for all of them. Everyone had tears in their eyes after Kurt's song. They looked to Sebastian who was having trouble getting his breathing in order to do his part. He pressed his forehead against Kurt's.

"I want to sing another version of Close to You later tonight." He was talking about the Carpenter's song, totally different lyrics but still about love, what this whole day was about.

"I won't argue." Kurt agreed, closing his eyes and soaking in this moment with the man who was so very nearly was his husband legally, they just had to get through the next few minutes and then it would be official.

"Don't get mad."

"Why would I?" Kurt asked as Sebastian pulled back and took one more deep breath, centering himself and then starting to sing.

Can't say how the days will unfold,
Can't change what the future may hold
But, I want you in it
Every hour, every minute

This world can race by far too fast
Hard to see while it's all flying past
But, it's clear now,
When you're standing here now
I am meant to be wherever you are next to me

All I want to do
Is come running home to you
Come running home to you
And all my life I promise to
Keep running home to you
Keep running home
To you

And I could see it
Right from the start
Right from the start
That you would be
Be my light in the dark
Light in the dark
Oh, you gave me no other choice
But to love you

All I want to do
Is come running home to you
Come running home to you
And all my life I promise to
Keep running home to you
Keep running home
Home to you

Can't say how the days will unfold
Can't change what the future may hold
But, I want you in it
Every hour, every minute

Tears were streaming unchecked down Kurt's cheeks and Sebastian's face wasn't much drier, they were just staring at each other. There was a sob somewhere behind Kurt and they both knew it was Rachel but neither turned to look at her or acknowledged that she'd done it. There was a general motion in the room and Burt sniffled and tried to reign it in but he was scrubbing at his face too, trying to stop the tears, and keep moving on. Both of the men just soaked it in, breathed it in and would never ever forget this day for the rest of their lives.

Kurt linked his hands with Sebastian's and tugged him back to him. He stopped short of pressing up against him and shook his head. "You ass... you wrote your own song." They spoke in French, but it wasn't like anyone could overhear them anyway. They were all regrouping and the ones who could understand them and give Kurt a disapproving look were too far away.

Sebastian grinned at the words.

"No, don't smirk about that." Kurt shook his head again. "You just had to go and one up me, didn't you? You got to use your own words while I borrowed someone else's." He wasn't mad at Sebastian in the least. He was incredibly proud and touched by his song. He just felt like he'd let Sebastian down by not doing the same. Sebastian could read that on him.

"The emotion was there though." Sebastian promised, slipping his fingers along Kurt's jaw. "I had to go to that extreme, not only because I wanted to write you a song, but all the songs today are love songs devoted to me. My song is just a small puddle in that ocean of love you're showering me with."

"Thank you." Kurt whispered. "Thank you for loving me as much as you do."

"Thank you for loving me." Sebastian pressed a kiss to Kurt's forehead then cheeks. "I didn't think anyone could love me until you came into my life. I didn't think I could love anyone."

Kurt's bottom lip wobbled again with the threat of more tears and Sebastian leaned in to kiss him.

"Hey, hey, we're not there yet, Buckeroo." Burt's voice interrupted them and the general laughter helped stave off Kurt's tears too. Though he still pulled out a handkerchief and wiped at his eyes. It wasn't the burnt orange one in his breast pocket. He folded it and stuffed it back into his pocket. How he could carry things around and not break up the lines, always surprised Sebastian.

"Carry on, good sir." Sebastian teased and there was more laughter. Kurt nodded his agreement. Their hands were linked again and they didn't let go the entire time Burt continued talking and asking them if they agreed to this marriage.

"I do." Kurt slipped the matching ring to the one already on his finger onto Sebastian's. They'd had it stretched so it would fit.

"I do." Sebastian slipped the silver ring they'd had resized to fit Kurt's finger and rested it next to the one he'd already placed on Kurt's finger years ago.

"It is with the deepest pleasure and so much honor and pride to announce you as Husbands." Burt gestured to the crowd. "I present Misters Kurt and Sebastian Hummel!"

The crowd of their loved ones roared in happiness and clapping and shouts came out from all sides. Kurt blushed and Sebastian beamed. It was 10 years in the making, but they finally did it. They were finally, legally, totally each other's.

"You may finally kiss." Burt teased and Sebastian didn't waste a single second and he pulled Kurt close, but Kurt was already pulling Sebastian in as well and they met somewhere halfway in between, both on the same page about what kind of kiss they were going to have. A cheer went up around them as it wasn't just a quick peck. It was definitely an insight into what went on behind closed doors.

I Do by Colbie Caillat saw them out of the wedding area and Sebastian nearly pulled Kurt into a secluded area and did more than kiss him if they weren't followed closely by the rest of their wedding party and photographers.

They were dragged over to make it official-official as they signed their names along the lines on the marriage license. It would be sent in and then returned to them soon but they were legally wed now. Sebastian was still tempted to ruin their perfected looks but the photographer snagged them all for more pictures, having snapped several with them writing their names.

There were so many more pictures as their guests settled into the reception venue. It wasn't far, and it was still that combination of nature and sophistication and lots of lights. Lots and lots of lights and open windows.

They danced their way into the reception hall and Kurt breathed deeply, wondering if he could pull this off but Sebastian just lifted him up into his arms and sat him down into a chair while the bridal party all came back out to carry both of them in on chairs. Kurt laughed and reached out for Sebastian's hand as they were dipped and lifted in equal measures and spun around. He had to hold on tightly so he didn't fall off and Sebastian more than once almost yelled at their party to be careful but they always caught him and then set them down in their spots on the big table. Kurt had originally wanted just one table, with all of the guests seated at it with them but realized that they had far too many guests for that. He was all about being one big inclusive family but this was just a bit too many for them to feel that way. There would be people way too far away to enjoy anything happening at the other end if they did that. Instead he had them put tables on the periphery so they were one large circle.

The reception hall was absolutely gorgeous too with plenty of dance space.

Burt had been in there several times while they set up but it was the first time he could truly appreciate the room to it's fullest. "Wow, Kurt you've absolutely outdone yourself." He'd been to all the weddings, Santana & Brittany's, Finn & Rachel's, Elliott & Jerald's, even saw pictures of Emma & Will's and even his own with Carole's, nothing, nothing compared to this. He'd thought they all had been beautiful, all had been perfect for the couple involved, but this... he'd never seen anything like it. It was like something out of a fantasy or a Broadway production with an unlimited budget.

"Thanks dad." Kurt blushed. "I thought maybe the birds might be a bit too much."

"Birds?" Burt looked around and sure enough, plenty of birds filled the space above them, but thankfully they weren't organic. Nobody had to worry about being pooped on. "They're spectacular." Burt reassured his son and Sebastian was nodding and looking around like he'd never seen it before.

"Yeah, it's great and all, but ours was still better." Santana said but she was impressed too by everything around her. She held back on saying 'it's what money can buy, after all' but Kurt and Sebastian both worked hard, they didn't just take money from either of their parents. Knowing Kurt, he would have done all the decorations all on his own, just needing help to put them up.

"I'm glad you liked yours that much." Kurt was humbled by what she said, others might have thought it to be rude but he knew it was because Santana had gotten exactly what she'd always dreamed of at their wedding.

Sebastian kissed Kurt's cheek. "Absolutely amazing, Mr. Hummel."

"Why thank you, Mr. Hummel." Kurt grinned at his husband.

"I'll never get tired of that." Sebastian beamed.

Kurt shook his head. "You're precious, you know that? I love that you love taking my last name. If I didn't know you so well, I would never in a million years have anticipated that."

"But you do know me so well." Sebastian slid his hand along the back of Kurt's shirt between it and the vest under the jacket. "Shall we get rid of some layers?"

"I do know you so well and I know once layers start coming off you won't let me enjoy the party that we've worked so hard for."

"I wouldn't do that. You deserve this party."

"We deserve this party."

"We deserve this party." Sebastian agreed dutifully. "All the more reason to enjoy every aspect of it." He wagged his brows.

Kurt laughed and glanced around. "After the dancing starts."

"I'll hold you to that."

Music played softly in the background while everyone talked and ate and just enjoyed themselves. Toasts started and Burt's was even more embarrassing than the last three he gave, he had a wider audience he could embarrass Kurt in front of. He also embarrassed Sebastian, who was bright red as Burt talked about how Sebastian showed up for every Friday Family dinner even though he wasn't part of the family yet, how he'd had to earn his place there and even then it took Sebastian years to make it official. He'd talked about how Kurt's birth mother would be proud of the match too.

Both Kurt and Sebastian laughed at that one though, knowing they were both holding up the actual ceremony.

Sebastian's mom and dad were both profusely excited to have Kurt enter their family and complimented Sebastian on a job well done. They even praised Sebastian for being himself and embarrassed him with childhood stories Kurt had never heard before. He raised an eyebrow at Sebastian who blushed.

Carole said a few words but while Kurt was encouraging of it, she didn't feel it was really her place, seeing as how she had only come into his life in high school. He spoke to her privately afterward and thanked her for all that she'd done through the years, even before she officially met Burt. She'd always checked on him after his mom died to make sure he was eating and had clean clothes. She was his mother long before she officially joined the family. She threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly. Sebastian had to eventually break that up.

Pretty much everyone in the wedding party had something they wanted to say, which was a lot longer than Kurt had planned. It was all so very touching though that he didn't have the heart to cut them off.

Sebastian made a speech too, thanking everyone who came on both of their behalves. His speech was shorter than Kurt's but no less heartfelt. In traditional fashion, whenever anyone started a request for a kiss, they were more than happy to oblige.

There was a short intermission and then Kurt and Sebastian were on the dance floor and the MC (Artie) cleared his throat and every one turned to him. "I'm pleased to be able to sing for their first dance as husband and husband. The Hummels, everyone!" He started them off with I Get To Love You by Ruelle.

"Now, before everyone can join the happy couple on the dance floor, we have a surprise for Kurt. Sebastian and Isabelle helped us with this one." Artie winked and all of the New Direction members that had ever been, including Matt and Kitty and the other more recent members that had the pleasure to meet Kurt on one of his visits home and at the school joined Artie on the dance floor and Sebastian led Kurt back to the sidelines. Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny) by Pussycat Dolls & A.R. Rahman faded in while everyone touched part of their clothes and instantly they were all in silver and gold. Kurt blinked. "How-"

Sebastian laughed. "Just watch."

Not only did they do a group number for the couple – that was expected – but they threw in a quick wardrobe change for Kurt. They surprisingly didn't offend anyone with their dancing or singing either. They had lots of skirt twists and flares and the men did a lot on their knees and a lot of quick actions and they didn't miss a beat. Most of them hadn't sung for years, not like this at least. They ended in a pose and deep burgundy, burnt orange, silver and gold confetti exploded all around them. Kurt winced, it was definitely powerful but now they had that mess to clean up. Thankfully it was contained to just the dance floor area.

He clapped loudly when they all started cleaning up the confetti with push brooms and slid into another song for them, not as a performance but as a transition song.

"All right everyone, time for the dollar dance." Artie spoke into the mic with cool, deep tones and Kurt grinned.

"That was awesome." Sebastian nodded along with Kurt's enthusiasm as they thanked their friends one by one as they listened to Forever by Chris Brown and people came up to dance and give them money, not that they needed it, but it was just a dollar each.

After the dollar dance, Kurt spun into Sebastian's arms as everyone danced to another slow song. Sebastian sang along for Kurt's ears alone. Millionaire by Chris Stapleton. He managed to bring tears back to Kurt's eyes. "You're always singing to me. You've sang to me far more than I've ever sang to you."

Sebastian held him tighter to him. "You sing for a living, it's like being a comedian, it's a job you enjoy, but at the end of the day it's a job. I sing to you because it's a pleasure for me, just something I enjoy doing, only for you."

"Singing to you isn't a job for me." Kurt tried to argue but Sebastian pressed his lips lightly to Kurt's to stop him.

"I didn't mean it that way, I just mean, you want to relax when you're home with me. You have to sing all day long almost every day. I know how you feel, you express it so well in so many ways. You sing for me quite a bit too, don't try to compare the two."

Speechless by Dan + Shay slid into the place as soon as Finn finished singing Millionaire. He kept looking at Rachel who was smiling back at him. Sam sang for them this time, not having anyone in particular that he was singing to, he and Mercedes were broken up again.

"This is a lot of slow songs together." Kurt murmured, looking over at his friends, wondering why they were boring the rest of the guests, not all of them were coupled up. Finn and Rachel danced closer and asked about all the slow songs in a row.

Rachel grimaced. "Whenever you're on the dance floor, we want you be able to dance. Slow songs are all you've been approved to do so far."

"Rachel!" Finn chided. "You weren't supposed to tell him that."

"He asked." Rachel countered. "I'm not going to hide things from him."

Sebastian rolled his eyes and expertly turned them away and dancing further into the dance floor to join up with some of the other couples. Carole and Burt were not too far and they approved of the song choices thus far. It allowed them a chance to dance too. Sebastian's parents were the same way. Brittany and Santana were actually also thankful about it too. They, along with Rachel and Finn and the girls, Elliott and Jerald and their family, would all have to head in earlier than the rest who were single and or without kids or weren't old. This way they got to enjoy some of the dancing too.

Still, after this song, Sebastian led Kurt from the dance floor, even though he didn't have to led hard, Kurt wanted to get some real dance music going too, mix it up. He was dying to participate when the music choice echoed his desires. "Sit, stay, rest." Sebastian ordered when he saw Kurt itching to go. Kurt pouted but did as Sebastian suggested. "I'm going to be right here with you."

"No, go enjoy, I'm not tired but you're right, I should pace myself."

"Kurt-" Sebastian started but one of the guards came up to him and whispered something in his ear. "When I get back, we'll sneak out for a bit, all right?"

Kurt laughed and he instantly cheered up. That wasn't exactly relaxing but it was something a bit more vigorous that he'd been approved for. "Where are you going? Should I go too?"

"No, it's ok, it's just a work call. I need to take of something that came up." He pressed a kiss to Kurt's cheek. Most of his coworkers were here at the wedding, even some of the clients.

Kurt wasn't entirely sure he believed Sebastian fully but he wouldn't let whatever it was, ruin his wedding and as soon as Sebastian left he was swarmed by well-wishers and friends. Even Dani came to the wedding, that's how much she loved Kurt, to get over what happened with her and Santana. She didn't even go to Elliott's wedding though Elliott, Sebastian, Blaine, Rachel and Kurt had been invited to her wedding.

Sebastian followed the guard outside to where they had Blaine restrained. Sebastian let out a frustrated huff. "Honestly? You can't stay away, can you?"

"I needed to see for my own eyes that you two actually went through with it." Blaine admitted.

He looked incredibly disheveled and not just from the guards roughing him up.

"Well we did, are you satisfied now?"

Blaine shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe he'd do this to me. We were end game!" Blaine scowled. "We'll be together the second you two break up."

"We're not going to break up. You're never going to get even feet from him again. Nothing from you will ever pierce his happy bubble ever again."

"I got this close." Blaine argued.

"I let you get this close so I could face you myself one last time. You're violating the 1,000 foot rule."

"1,000? It was 500 feet!" Blaine protested.

"Jeremiah, yes, that Jeremiah, had it changed last week. Your lawyer should have told you about it."

"A thousand feet? I'll never be able to see him then!" Blaine protested.

"That's kind of the point." More so, so Kurt never saw Blaine.

"How did you keep him? Why couldn't I?" Blaine questioned and Sebastian laughed.

"It's easy really, you could have been with him forever if you weren't a douche and a dick. You fucking manipulated him, kept him from being his full self, intended to cut him off from everyone. You had no fucking clue how to keep him happy. All he wanted was honest and truthful love and support."

"This is really over, isn't it?" Blaine's bottom lip quivered as he realized he really had lost Kurt for forever.

"Uh... yeah." Sebastian couldn't believe how obtuse Blaine could be.

"Then I guess all I have to say is this." Sebastian couldn't believe that Blaine started singing him a song and had the gall to change the pronouns of If You Love Her (Him) by Forrest Black.

"It's totally not your place to sing that to me. I also already do all that, hence why he and I are married." Sebastian said pointedly. He debated with himself. "You know, I never did hit you for what you've done." He would have done so much more, if he knew the cops wouldn't have looked at him, Kurt and Burt first when Blaine disappeared for good. If he hadn't taken Kurt to the hospital, he might have had a chance, but then he might have lost Kurt. Sacrifices must be made for Kurt's safety and health.

"You took a baseball bat to my face-"

"And while that was satisfying, that was more in protection of Kurt. This is for myself." He let his fist fly and he felt the bone break under his knuckles. His own hand smarted after that and the skin broke where he hit Blaine, catching on the broken bone. Blaine howled in pain. "Stay the fuck away from us." Then he spun around and trusted the bodyguards to be rid of him. Now they'd never speak of or think of Blaine again. He was getting off easily. Sebastian wanted to kill him and bury the body in a bat of acid where nobody would ever be able to find him. Except, not only might he get superpowers because of that, but because his family wouldn't let that stand. They could disown Blaine, but if he disappeared completely, they'd seek out retribution. He was still family after all and the Andersons liked taking revenge if the opportunity presented itself.

While the Smythes would eventually win out on a family war, they always had in the past and the Andersons couldn't even begin to compare, he didn't want to find out at what cost. Death vengeance was petty and shallow, he wanted Blaine to suffer, not have it over with instantly. He also didn't want it following Kurt. Kurt was now family and would be fair game for revenge if he went down that path.

He wasn't willing to let that happen. No pain inflicted upon him from another would ever touch Kurt again.

Sebastian rejoined Kurt where he'd left him, but he was sitting with Adam, and only Adam. Sebastian scowled, ok, so he had one more person to deal with.

"It's a little late for that, don't you think?" Sebastian said by way of greeting.

Kurt watched Sebastian go with some concern. His own bodyguards were in the direction that Sebastian headed. He was sure they were making rounds, but still, that's where they said he could find them if he needed them.

He was tempted to follow and find out what was going on but he didn't have the opportunity. He was surrounded by friends and loved ones. Brittany sank down next to him and flipped her legs over his as Santana sat behind her. "We missed you last night." Brittany pouted. "Why'd you go?"

"I had to see to Sebastian." Kurt answered, rubbing Brittany's swollen calves. Contrary to what everyone thought would happen, pregnancy was not kind on her like everything else she'd gone through or done. She was completely swollen up and hadn't had an easy run of it at all.

"Next time, it'll be me, baby, I promise." Santana kissed Brittany's cheek. Santana eyed the legs over Kurt's. "You ok?"

"This isn't the heaviest weight I've had on my lap recently." He reassured her and she got the message loud and clear and she laughed.

"Marriage has made you feisty. I like it."

"I've always been feisty." Kurt countered with a look but he definitely had never been happier. He thought that he'd been over the moon when he and Sebastian had exchanged their private vows. This was that and more. This was a celebration with everyone who loved them, supporting them, loving them, wanting them to be together and happy for them.

Dani hesitated on Kurt's other side. "Hi, Kurt."

"Dani!" Kurt twisted toward her and couldn't stifle the groan as his sudden movement pulled on some muscles that he might have overexerted.

"Oh god, Kurt! I'm sorry that I surprised you! I didn't meant to startle you. What can I do?"

"Nothing, nothing, just sit." Kurt patted the seat next to him. She eyed Brittany and Santana warily but sat anyway.

Santana wasn't paying her any attention, was moving Brittany off of Kurt and with Brittany back against the seat behind her, Santana moved to squat in front of him. "What-"

"San, please. I'm fine." He was too, he just twisted too far too fast, but he thought for sure that he was fine. Santana and Brittany weren't trained to help him anyway, which was why it was a surprise that Sebastian had agreed to let him stay with them last night.

"I'm not convinced. Let me go get Elliott." She stood quickly and moved away before he could stop her. He was in a little bit of pain, he didn't even really try. Maybe Elliott and his magic fingers could help him before Sebastian got back.

"I am sorry. I didn't know I was going to startle you like that."

"It's not your fault. I've twisted it before, all on my own." Kurt promised her and tried to reassure her with that. She didn't look convinced but let him lead her into another topic and had her laughing. They both started laughing and Kurt ignored the wince the laughter did to his back.

Elliott and Santana were back soon after and Dani made herself scarce so Elliott could take her spot and attend to Kurt. She kissed both Kurt and Elliott's cheeks and said she'd talk to Sebastian before the night was over. She really liked Sebastian too and was happy for all of the guys.

She even finally nodded to Santana and Brittany and they nodded back. Kurt rolled his eyes at the three of them but Elliott's fingers found the spot that hurt and he moaned in pleasure. Elliott placed his mouth next to Kurt's ear. "Someone will think you're cheating if you do that too loudly."

Kurt looked out through slits sideways at him. "Oh yeah?"

"Yeah." Elliott grinned right back. They always had a flirty relationship but there was never really anything behind it. They were just friends, pure and simple.

"Yeah." Kurt twisted and pressed further back into his fingers. "Right there." Elliott massaged the knot right out of his back and he felt relief and relaxed at the same time. He was like jello, collapsing back into his chair and closed his eyes in appreciation. "Thank you."

"Hmm..." Elliott agreed. "Will you tell Sebastian?"

"Hell no." Kurt answered and opened his eyes to glare at Elliott and included Santana and Brittany as well. "Don't you dare tell him either. This is supposed to just be fun, no stress."

"Eh, I'm sure he's stressed out anyway." Elliott shrugged. "But ok."

Santana shrugged, she stopped telling Sebastian things about Kurt the moment he moved out to New York permanently, he was more likely to know what was going on than she was.

Santana reached out for Elliott's hand. "Dance?"

"Certainly." Elliott took it and spun her onto the dance floor. Brittany discovered the dessert table and wandered off to take a piece of pretty much everything.

Adam slid into the seat next to Kurt and nudged him when Kurt's eyes closed again. "No sleeping, bridegroom."

Kurt peeked out at him and then grinned. "Hey." He greeted with pleasure.

"You can totally tell me off but this is the first time I've gotten a chance to talk to you today. Usually it's the bride but since this wedding doesn't have a bride but has two bridegrooms, it'll have to do. It's tradition to kiss the bride. Can I kiss you?"

"With that logic, are you going to kiss Sebastian too?"

"No, it's something I've wanted to do with you for ages and this is going to be my only opportunity. I just have to know."

Kurt looked uncertain. "That's a bit of an odd request. I'd have to discuss it with Sebastian-"

"It won't mean anything, just think of it as one of the girls kissing you." Adam didn't mean to pressure Kurt or press or make him uncomfortable.

Thankfully Sebastian appeared behind them then and there.

"It's a little late for that, don't you think?" Sebastian said by way of greeting. "What do you hope to accomplish with this request? We've already booted one person who pressed for more." Sebastian's tone and gaze were cold.

"I would never, never force myself on him!" Adam protested, standing and holding up his hands in protest. "I was just asking because it was tradition."

"There's a lot of traditional things we've skipped during this wedding." Sebastian lifted a brow and stalked closer. Adam backed up. "Is there something about that role you've gotten that makes the lead go a bit nuts?"

"It's fine, honestly, I just thought I'd ask."

"Kurt wouldn't have said no, straight out, you're his friend but you've definitely made him very uncomfortable. I might have to suggest you go to your room and leave before any of us wake up in the morning."

"No, no, 'Stien, he's not like that." Kurt put a hand on his arm. "Adam, please stay. I'm not offended, thank you for what you were trying to say and do."

Adam nodded but was wise enough to book it back into the crowd of dancers.

Sebastian turned to Kurt with a scowl. "That was completely inappropriate."

"He was trying to be funny. It landed flat. He's English, he's a bit more traditional than either of us and that's something they do over there." Kurt shrugged.

"Yes, but with your history, he definitely shouldn't have even asked." Sebastian was still riled up from both confrontations. "And it wasn't a joke."

"He wasn't here for the worst of it. He doesn't fully understand."

"You're too forgiving." Sebastian shook his head, glad triple-fold that he hadn't told Kurt where he was going.

"Come on, you promised me something before you headed outside... I'm still up for it if you are." Kurt batted his eyelashes and Sebastian let out a rueful laugh and let Kurt take his hand and lead him out. "What happened to your hand?"

"I nicked it on something." Sebastian shrugged it off and groaned as Kurt kissed each of his knuckles tenderly. "If that's what you're going to do, then I'm glad I did." Kurt had to bottom again as Sebastian pressed his back up against a wall and took him fast and dirty. Kurt was still loose from the night before and this morning and this was the best way for them to protect his back. Besides, they couldn't take the time they wanted to, they had to get back to their party.

The back of Kurt's white jacket was black from the wall and Sebastian only grinned because it meant that they were now rid of one of the layers. He took his off too and chucked them into the coat room. He brought Kurt back to the party after both were properly cleaned up and back into place for the most part.

They stayed out all night with the guests who could handle it. Many dropped off throughout the night and they ended up at a diner afterward and Kurt even ate some of the nasty food on offer without a single murmur of protest. He devoured his food, actually.

It was the wee hours of the morning before they stumbled into their honeymoon suite and crashed onto the bed, neither able to undress other than kick off their shoes. Neither were up for more and they slept soundly until Rachel pounded on their bedroom door, letting them know it was time for brunch and gift opening.

They somehow made it into the meeting room that was filled with couches and a big table with plenty of seats around it and lots of food. Many of the guests weren't invited to this part but they definitely had enough breakfast and passes for the waterpark for those who weren't invited or the kids who wanted to go there instead of sitting through this.

Most of the gifts were funny, some were incredibly thoughtful and touching.

Sebastian and Kurt had the suite for another night and after thanking their guests one more time, they headed back upstairs and slept most of the day. Rachel didn't come around again, the wedding was officially over and they were on their honeymoon now. Her duties were done.

The guests all cleared out during the day, some stayed longer and Kurt and Sebastian footed the bill for anyone who decided to make a holiday out of their visit to New York.
