Chapter III

Gebal Castle was drawing near to Greil, Elena, and Ferry. The forests were getting darker and spookier. Crickets started to chirp loudly. And the other bugs started to buzz in the night. It was definitely a spooky scene. However, Greil, being the leader of the team, decided to guide everyone with pride and bravery. Then, to the surprise of Elena, the group finally reached Gebal Castle.

Back with Labolas and his vassal, the dragon-winged Black Labrador Retriever Berith Retriveris, they saw exactly what was going on outside of Gebal Castle. Labolas decided to call on his beorc and laguz slaves, who were under the control of another canine, a black-skinned and white-spotted griffon-winged Dalmatian named Penny. While Penny looked like she was friendly on the outside, she was a monstrous, greedy, tyrannical canine on the inside. She wanted every beorc, laguz, and branded person in Tellius for herself and Labolas.

Back with Greil, Elena, and Ferry, they were getting ready to enter Gebal Castle to find out what Labolas was doing. However, they were confronted by Penny.

"Hello!" Penny said. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Oh, hi! You look like a nice canine." Greil said. "We're looking for Labolas Caacrinolaas. You know him by any chance?"

"Of course, I do!" Penny said as she laughed. "Boys, now's your chance!" she said to some male people inside Gebal Castle.

"Wait, what's going on now?!" Ferry asked himself.

"Ah, ah, ah! I've caught you at last, General Gawain, Great Rider of Daein!" Labolas said.

"No… Labolas… what the hell do you think you are doing?!" Greil asked Labolas angerly.

"It looks like I've finally caught wind of your schemes." Labolas said. "Let's see… hm… what shall I do?"

"Challenge me to a damn fight, Labolas?" Greil asked.

"Hm… what a WONDERFUL idea! Ah, ah, ah!" Labolas said. "Now, challenge me! You and me, rider of Daein!"

"Fine. But note that the only name I can answer to is Greil! NOT Gawain of Daein!"

"Who cares what he calls you? As long as you're dead by the venomous bite of Labolas Caacrinolaas, challenge him!" Penny said.

And so, Greil started to fight Labolas with his sword, no one was winning. However, after the battle was getting more intense, Ferry saw something shining down on Greil and Labolas. However, the focus was Labolas, not Greil. And that something that was shining was the shining silver star whose song was about to be taken by Labolas

"Count Labolas Caacrinolaas of Bran, Transylvnaia!" the star said. "Do NOT defeat the legendary Greil, the one born in Daein and blessed father of the land of Gallia!"

"How about I steal your song? Because I really like to be evil sometimes, Star! Ah, ah, ah!" Labolas said.

"Oh, really?!" Greil asked Labolas after hearing his words. "You want to steal the song of the star? Then guess what? You… will… die!" Greil said as he stabbed Labolas. Berith and Penny later fled for the forest. As Ferry the fossa fled too, he screamed. This meant that something bad could have happened to him

As Greil was injured minorly, Elena quickly wanted to clean him up and heal him with her mend staff. Then, after that, Greil was back in tip-top shape.

"Thank you Greil and Elena. But I saw that you had a companion with you." The star said. "What happened?"

"Oh, Ferry!" Elena said as she saw him lying down in the grass. This meant that Ferry would meet his end soon.

"Oh, Elena, Greil… I… I tried to help out the best I can… but… I had to flee… Berith bit me… but I suffered from poison of his teeth. I'm sorry." Ferry said in his dying breath. "Go… go back to your home! Get out of here!"

"Yes… now we leave. Leave Labolas to die, and leave for our home, that is." Greil said to himself. "Come on, Elena."

When Greil and Elena returned home to their village, the stars began to disappear, and the sun was about to rise. Another fantastic day in Gallia was about to begin. When the couple did return home, Mrs. Restivon, their neighbor, still had Ike and Mist. In fact, the kids, being so worried about their own parents Greil and Elena, just got up.

"So, was the adventure successful, Greil?" Mrs. Restivon asked Greil.

"Well, we had help from a fossa named Ferry, but sadly, a dragon-winged Black Labrador bit him to death." Greil said.

"Is that so?" Mrs. Restivon asked.

"Yes." Greil said. "And I do want to talk to Ike and Mist for a second." Ike and Mist looked at each other and both went to their father, who gave them a big hug. However, Greil then took them inside the house so he can speak to them. Elena followed forth. When Greil sat down on the couch with Ike and Mist by his side, he told them to never go outside of town as the Cuddly Canines were dangerous. Ike and Mist understood. And so, after a long adventure into the nighttime, Greil, Elena, and their children all went to bed, and Mrs. Restivon went home next door from Greil. Everyone later lived a nice happily ever after.
