"Kid! What the hell are you doing!" Giichi drowns out the noise of the crowd as desperately runs toward his mother hoping he could get to her before the worst could happen.

He had to help her. Giichi couldn't bear the thought of losing her. The cuddles after she comes home late exhausted, the amazing cooking, the training sessions, hearing her soft, angelic voice telling him she would always be there when no one else would. Even after all the children at school avoided him, acted like he doesn't exist while calling him a villain behind his back, he would come home and see her smiling face and none of it would matter, simply because she was there.

So seeing this villain who managed to get the upper hand and was planning on finishing the job.

It made him move before he could even think about it.

As he gets close he starts to feel his mother's emotions. Her anger, which was directed toward the villain who even thought about hurting these people. Her determination to protect everyone around her. Fear of losing everything precious to her, guilt because she couldn't protect everyone. And her acceptance of the fact that she would keep fighting even if it killed her

'I'm not gonna let that happen.' He had to get to her faster! She couldn't die! Not now! There was still so much he wanted to do with her, so much she could teach him! Everything they've been through couldn't just end so abruptly. He would help her, whatever it took!

She knew it was over for her the second, the illusion faded away.

She tried her best to protect everyone and buy some time so the other heroes could come as backup. Everything she had, put into all of her moves, every person in the crowd cheering her on pushing her forward. The thought of her son living life without her, pushing her farther than she's ever gone.

But in the end, it just wasn't enough

"Your reputation isn't unearned, it seems. I was actually worried for a second there" The black-haired villain said with genuine respect. She did a real number on him with her strength and water techniques, and that lightning hurt like bitch. But in the end, she fell victim to his illusions and he finally managed to get the jump on her by putting a knife through her stomach.

'Guess this is it.' She was fully prepared for this. It sucked, it really did. Dying this way, leaving her son alone to the adversity and cruelty of the world. But she was a hero, she would fight like one, protecting everyone.

However, if you plan to fight like a hero…

"As fun as this was, it's time to meet your demise Chikara!"

...You better prepare to die like one too.

He didn't make it.

His mother's blood-curdling scream cut off his thoughts as a knife went straight through her throat, immediately losing the life in her eyes, courtesy of the man who caused this whole thing.

"You...you bastard!" Giichi growled

"Huh? And who're you brat?"

Ignoring the villain's question he lunged at him. The anger was evident in his eyes going from dark blue to blood red with slits. Red chakra enveloping his body as his killing intent leaked throughout the area scaring the civilians.

The villain seemed unfazed by the massive amount of killing intent leaking off Giichi avoided his attack and said "Woah! Got some fire in ya, don't ya brat! That was your mother!? It's no surprise really, you got her red hair and dark blue eyes and everything" Giichi cut him off before he finished by lunging at him. At this point, he only saw red.

Fortunately for the villain, he managed to dodge, once again before Giichi could get a hold of him. 'Damn, he's fast. I gotta get out of here before any more heroes show up.'

"Well, as much as I'd love to stay kid! I gotta take off. Keep in touch?" The villain said as he made a phone gesture with his hand as he planned his escape.

"YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE" Giichi yelled as the cloak of red, murderous, chakra that cloaked him became denser as he sprouted a tail.

Before the villain could even react, Giichi was in front of him with his fist cocked back, a murderous look in his eyes. He could see the sheer power radiating off the boy's fist. Everything was in slow motion, what was a mere second felt like 10 excruciating seconds waiting for the pain.

'This kid...what the hell...HE'S CRAZY!' And just like that the punch connected to his face, creating a shockwave from the mere force and he was thrown back hundreds of feet, body flying through the air like a ragdoll as his life ended instantly.

The cheers of the crowd dispersed instantly as this mere child killed a villain with a mere punch. What kind of quirk was that?

Meanwhile, Giichi's emotions were running rampant. 'That bastard got what was coming to him! Who does he think he is thinking he could just do that to my mother and get away with it!?'

On one hand, he was satisfied, seeing the man who put his mother in an early grave put in his place. But on the other hand…

'He deserves nothing less than death! Doesn't he…?' He just murdered a man in cold blood, even if he was a murderous psycho, he could've had people that cared about him, loved him with all they had. Those people would be in the same position Giichi is in currently. In complete disbelief that something so tragic could happen so abruptly, furious at the thought that someone would even think about hurting the people they love and empty because no one could ever fill the void in your heart as your precious person could.

As these conflicting emotions circled his mind, his chakra cloak only grew denser. Slowly another tail made of chakra began to form making his killing intent more potent. Civilians passing out from the pressure. Soon another tail sprouted, as the air grew heavy, a tornado of malicious chakra grew around Giichi. His strong, conflicting emotions clouding his control despite his training. Soon enough it became too much and Giichi passed out from exhaustion

By the time the heroes got to the scene, it was chaos. The buildings that were already damaged from the previous battle, completely destroyed. Innocent people were lost and many injured. The entire area was completely destroyed.

All because a young boy failed to save his mother

For the majority of my life, I was taught to believe that all the horrid things I've done are for the good of society. All the people I've killed, necessary sacrifices to make the world a better place. And yet, remembering all of the merciless killing done by my hands, feeling my targets' fear as I show them little mercy, all the blood on my hands treated as a mere dirty substance to wash off only to get dirty again, I can't help but feel like shit.

"Why are you hesitating?" The Commission Agent asked a young Giichi.

Giichi stays silent, his long red hair blowing from the draft in the room. He can't think of any reasons. This man has killed multiple people, including his family, with no remorse and he'd do it again in a heartbeat. This man ruined his life and didn't even bat an eye and Giichi hated him with every fiber of his being, his very presence just pisses him off. He doesn't even seem scared at the thought of dying, which serves to piss him off more. Giichi's dark blue eyes stare at the blank look in the deranged man's eyes, feeling no emotions from the man except acceptance tells him everything.

This was a man with nothing to lose. But Giichi would gain nothing from killing him

'It should be so easy, with everything this man has done, he surely deserves death, doesn't he? And he doesn't even care! So why can't I just do it?' Giichi thought. The mere thought of taking a life is enough to make him shake, ironically showing more fear than the man whose life is going to end.

"Drug Trafficking, Multiple cases of murder and attempted murder of a government official. You say you want to make the world a better place. A world where everyone gets justice, and yet you contemplate preventing this man from hurting people ever again! Think about all the people he's killed. People enjoying life, young souls with bright futures, your parents! How can you live with yourself knowing that you had a chance to avenge their deaths but you didn't take it? The only way for this man to be put to justice is for him to be punished for his crimes."

The commission agent gave Giichi a soft look and said "Even if that means taking his life." He said it so softly as if he cared. If he wasn't making a life-changing decision he would've laughed at the absurdity, but as it stood…

"Hurry the hell up and get on with it kid." The murderer said as if he was waiting for his friend to finish tying his shoes and wasn't about to pay for his crimes.

"See! Even he knows what he's done is unforgivable! How can you call yourself a hero and let people like him roam free? You want to be a hero correct!?" The agent asked losing his patience

Giichi nods his head

"Well, you can never be the hero you want to be if you can't bring yourself to take down scum like this! People who show no remorse to others. Someone who shows no mercy to their victims, giving people potential lethal substances to desperate people, he's true trash. Heroes are constantly taking down people like this and more every day. You have talent, extraordinary abilities, and immense potential, but you're sitting here shaking in your boots because you have to take the life of low-life scum like this?" The agents said. And he was right too, he still can't figure out why he couldn't do it. Giichi has hurt plenty of people before this, badly. He got no pleasure from it, but it was easy knowing that they hurt people and would receive the same treatment. The same logic should apply here, right?

But he's never killed anyone before. All of the people he's hurt got sent to the hospital and sentenced afterward. He may not be innocent but he's no killer. Well, not yet anyway.

" You can't let the innocents whose lives were taken die in vain. Do it."

'Mom,'

"Do. It."

'Dad,'

"Do it!"

'Please forgive me.'

Giichi hardened his heart and did the deed. The brief flash of pain in the man's eyes would haunt him forever

At this point, all the killing I've done doesn't even phase me.

Well, at least that's what I tell myself. The truth is this never gets any easier no matter how much I do it. I always dread when I get called out on a mission, that just means more people to add to my body count.

A prime example is the situation I'm in currently. The room I was in reeked of blood, the bodies bleeding out scattered all over the floor, cold and unmoving. The room was silent except for the sobs of a lone woman who was kneeling, begging for her life. She was covered in blood just like everyone else, sobbing into her hands, hoping I would spare her life.

This is always the hardest part, seeing the pleading look on people knowing I can't spare them. Usually, I'd get this done quickly to avoid or at least reduce the guilt of taking a life, but I guess I wasn't quick enough this time.

The woman slowly began to speak, her voice hoarse from all the sobbing "Pl-please, d-don't kill me. I-I'm only doing this because my mother is ill and we can't afford treatment. This was the quickest way to get the money to pay for treatment before it's too late. I swear, I didn't want to hurt anyone. Please just let me go."

I see this too often. People who only become criminals because of bad circumstances or they feel they have no other choice. It's truly unfortunate but I can't control the bad decisions. She well knew the consequences beforehand but she still got involved with the gig. For what it's worth I honestly contemplated letting her go, the consequences be damned. It'd be so easy to act like I didn't notice her and just let her leave.

"I truly am sorry for this." At these words, I see the faintest glint of hope flash in her eyes, thinking I was gonna let her go

"But…" I say this as the hope in her eyes immediately changes to horror as I spin the kunai, which's still stained with blood, in my hands. "If I let you go the commission would kill you anyway and punish me for insubordination. It's not like it matters what I think anyways. No matter what I have to say about any of this…"

"No, please!" I encased the kunai in wind chakra as she pleaded for her life

"...I have a job to do"

"NO!"

That was the last thing she heard before the wind encased kunai went through her head, killing her instantly
