Pairing: Taichi x Koushiro.
Summary:
Everybody's sick of Taichi. Well, not Koushiro!
Taichi. He's everywhere. They could be separated by land or by sea. By any irreconcilable distance. Sun or snow. Taichi would be there. In time to rescue Yamato from Zanbamon. Emerging with Agumon out of the bushes of Petaldramon's forest. Enrolled at the Digimon School, when Mimi and Palmon weren't looking. Randomly roaming the mirror-rock canyon. On the new shores Olegmon's crew almost died of starvation to reach.
He. Was. There.
For the viewers, it's irritating. A troll that the writers are aware what the audience is watching has evolved into The Taichi Show, and they are no longer operating under any illusions to the contrary.
While it was Taichi who wandered into their plots, it was the seven Chosen Children who were guest stars on Taichi's program.
OG Yamato must've burned plenty of his dad's dinners, stewing over his reduced role in the reboot!
Yet for Koushiro, it brings joy to his knowledge. A multiplicity of fake copies of Taichi was a fake bridge too far and far too self-evident, so he was glad he missed Algomon's experiment, but the Taichi standing on the stone before him these long (yet still too short) nanoseconds – the Taichi he came to respect and to thank and to want – was the Taichi he'd follow to the ends of the Digital World and back. The Taichi he did follow to the ends of the Digital World and back.
Nevertheless…He declined to squeeze Taichi in the abrupt, mildly uncomfortable hug Nanomon hugged him in. That would be impolite towards Taichi, and of no advantage to anyone.
But he was a dreamer. It was worth a courageous thought.
Koushiro's Digivice beeped with the Crest of Courage.
"Prodigious. It's never done that before."
