Chapter 4

The following day, Kendall's temperature had thankfully gone down to 98.5, and he was allowed to be released from the hospital and watched over at home. Of course, the doctor prescribed some medication for Kendall to continue helping his recovery; he had to take one capsule in the morning and one capsule at night. When the group all arrived back at the palmwood, they were all tired and hungry. Mama Knight ordered pizza for everyone but made some soup for Kendall, who already went off to bed being taken in by Logan. Once the pizza was here, the guys started eating and doing their everyday things, which meant Mama Knight could make sure Kendall ate something. She worried about her son and wanted to make sure to help him.

"Kendall, sweetie, you awake?" Mama Knight questioned as she came into the room slowly.
A mumble was heard as she walked over. "What was that, honey?" Mama Knight questioned as the boy had rolled back over.

Hearing his mother's voice had causes Kendall's head to pound. At the moment, he had an increasing headache, and even the tiniest bit of noises didn't help. Looking at his mother through his half-opened sleepy eyes, Kendall whimpered as she kisses his forehead. Everything hurt again, and he just wanted it to go away so he could sleep. Kendall couldn't take being sick anymore. Being sick meant missing out on everything; he hated being stuck in bed all day. He looked at his mother with sad eyes, and he wrapped his arms around himself.

"I don't feel good, mommy…." Kendall mumbles again as he snuggled his head into her lap; she was sitting on the edge of the bed. "...My tummy hurts."

Mama Knight frowned and moved Kendall's blonde bangs out of his eyes. Her heart tightened once more seeing her boy in so much pain. Sighing, she held him a little as he snuggled into her leg. The women watched as her only son's eyes fluttered open and then closed; he soon fell sound asleep, drawing out soft snores to fill the room. She saw him for about an hour before she decided to get up and let the boy sleep. Going to the kitchen, Mama Knight put the soup on a shelve thinking she can re-heat it later and try to have him eat more when he was awake. Looking around, she saw Logan reading one of his medical books at the table; James was on his laptop at the counter while Carlos and Katie were watching some random tv show.

"I'm going to go run to the store real quick to get some things for Kendall. Does anyone need anything while I'm there?"
Mama Knight questioned a little loudly to make sure everyone heard.

When everyone shook their heads, she sighed. "Alright, I'll be back soon; please keep an eye on Kendall; call me if anything happens."

Logan smiles, looking up from his book. "Will do, Mama Knight, be careful."

With that, the adult of the apartment left, and the others continued with their activities. As soon as the door closed, there was a knock on it ten minutes later. Katie looked up at the guys to see if anyone was answering it, and no one was. With a heavy annoyed sigh, Katie stood and went to get the door. She opened it and smiled when she found Jo standing outside in the hallway with a wrapped basket in her hands.

Jo smiled at Katie, "Hey, I'm here to see Kendall, is that okay?" Jo questions with hope.

"Sure, come on in," Katie states as she steps aside and lets the blonde girl in. "He's in his and Logan's room sleeping, but your welcome to see him. Just don't wake him; the doctor said he needs his rest." Katie explained with a slight frown, she too worried about her brother.

"Sounds good; thank you for letting me know," Jo states with a nod; she waves to the others. "Hey, guys!" She greets while shifting the wrapped basket in her arms.

They all don't look up but wave and mumble a "Hi Jo" this causes the two girls to roll their eyes as Katie turns and eyes the basket, "What's the basket for?" She questions, slightly interested.

Jo smiles, "A get well soon gift for Kendall. It's just got some goodies in it to make him feel better and some treats." Jo finishes as she shows Katie the contents inside the basket.

"Okay, making sure, go on; I know you want to see him." Katie smiles as she nods her head towards where the bedrooms are.

Jo thanks her and leaves the main crib looking for her boyfriend's room. Upon arriving, she opens the door slightly while peeking inside. "Kendall, you awake?" Jo asks quietly as not to wake him in case he wasn't. When Jo received a message from Logan that Kendall was sick and had been in the hospital, she came down to see him as soon as she filed New Town High. The message had scared her, and she knew it was severe. This is why she was here, and she made sure to make time to see him. After all, she loved Kendall, and if anything happened to him, she wouldn't know what to do with herself.

When she didn't hear a response, Jo figured he was still asleep. Pushing the door open more, she entered the room and closed it behind her. Turning to Kendall, she began to walk closer when the sight before her scared her and made her stop dead in her tracks. In front of her, Kendall is on the floor between his end table and bed tangled in sheets; blood was next to his head, and puke was all over the side of the bed, floor, and himself. Jo dropped the basket in shock and instantly rushed over to the sick boy.

"Oh no, oh no, Kendall, please be okay! Kendall, can you hear me!?" Jo questioned as she reached the boy and shook his shoulder, slightly scared out of her will house. "Kendall, please, baby, wake up!" Jo continued to try for at least another minute, finally stopping when she didn't get any movement or groans at all.

Heart racing, Jo grabs Kendall's wrist lightly and feels for a pulse. She sighs in relief when she finds one. However she notices that it's weak; she listens to his heartbeat, which is also vulnerable. Pulling her phone out, she gets up and rushes to the bedroom door before flying it open and yelling down the hallway.

"HELP! HELP SOMEONE HELP!"

It worked, for the next thing she heard as she dialed 911 on her phone, were the sound of rushing footsteps. Logan, James, Carlos, and Katie all came into the room surrounding Jo, asking what was wrong. She showed them, Kendall, explained what she did to find out what was wrong, and called 911. They answered thankfully.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Hello, yes, my name is Jo Taylor, and my boyfriend is passed out and not responding. There is blood on his head, and puke is everywhere. Please, we need help…." Jo explained with slight panic as the four guys rushed to get the blankets off Kendall and him onto the bed for the time being.

"Alright, we are sending an ambulance now. Where too?"

After giving the address of the apartment, the ambulance arrived on the scene not even ten minutes later. They rushed inside and came to help Kendall. Everyone watched as the blonde-haired, green-eyed boy was lifted off the bed and onto the gurney. He was then put into the back of the ambulance outside the Palmwoods. Everyone felt awkward with passerby's watching, but they mainly felt worried for the boy. Logan called Mama Knight to tell her what was going on as they watched the ambulance take Kendall to the hospital; Katie had ridden in the back with him.

" - Of course we will. Your welcome." Logan finishes as he hangs up; he looks at everyone.

"What did she say?" Carlos questioned, worried and slightly scared of the situation.

Logan sighs, "She's going to pick us up now, and we're all going to go to the hospital again. She will be here in ten minutes." Logan finishes as he frowns.

So, everyone waited, and soon Mama Knight had picked them up. The three guys, along with Jo, Mama Knight, headed to the hospital to meet her daughter there, and they all prayed that Kendall was going to be okay…
