Chapter 3

Anastasia was driving down Hollywood boulevard in her old beat up Beetle. She stopped at the light and saw her phone light up, "Hey Kate! I'm coming. I'm like 10 minutes away." When the light turned green she went.

Katherine Kavanagh was her best friend and total opposite. She was a beautiful strawberry blonde, with a great body and she had all the confidence in the world. Her father owned Kavanagh Media and she came from money, lots of money. She only had her father and he was too busy to actually be a father, but financially she had everything.

Kate huffed, "Ana, I was worried when I heard the argument. I've got a shit dad and you've got a shit mom. Maybe we should hook them up?" Ana laughed, "Be there soon." She clicked the phone and stopped at another light.

When Ana was born things were good, better than good. She had Grandpa Ray and Grandma Anna, who she was named for. She also had a mom and a dad. Her dad wasn't always around, because of the military, but he called every day. He never wanted them to move around and follow him with the army, so they stayed and he came home.

When she was 10, he came for a visit and she had strep throat. Carla had to miss a big banquet for military honors. Ray and his parents went instead. Their night was turned upside down when a car accident on the 101 took all of their lives. Carla has blamed Ana ever since.

She felt a hit and heard a bang. "What the hell?" She looked into her mirror and saw a car had hit her in the back. The guy backed up and the bumper fell off. "Shit!" He ran to the driver's side and all Ana saw was a tall good looking guy with the wildest strangest colored hair she'd ever seen. "Shit! I'm so sorry. Are you ok?"

Ana looked stunned and he opened the door to get a better look. He knelt down and pulled his sunglasses off. It was then she saw his hair was copper colored and he had beautiful gray eyes. "Miss, are you ok?" When he touched her arm it pulled her back to reality, "I'm fine." He took a deep relaxing breath, "I'm so sorry! This is completely my fault. I was late and grabbed my phone. I didn't see you or the light. My name is Christian. He smiled a megawatt smile, "Christian Grey."

Ana just stared at his beauty. "Miss?" She shook her head, "Oh I'm Anastasia Steele, but everyone calls me Ana." Cristian kept smiling because she was beautiful. "Anastasia is a pretty name." She smiled, "Ana makes me think of my Grandma." They saw the cops pull up. "Hello sir. This is completely my fault." Ana stood in amazement. He was honest and took full responsibility for everything. She watched and listened. He took his big price tag ticket from the officer. The officer smiled, "Ma'am do you need assistance?" Ana smiled, "I'm fine really."

She looked at her car. The bumper was in the road and her engine was smoking. "My car isn't, but I'm fine." The officer frowned, "Yeah your engines in the back." Christian rubbed his head. "Let me call a truck and get it to the shop." Christian stepped away and made a phone call. "The officer helped Ana out of the road, "Well, he's a good guy."

Christian pulled his car over to the side and waited for the truck. Ana saw the name TNT towing. Ana wasn't thinking. Well she was thinking of the hot guy that rammed her from behind, but she wasn't thinking about her stuff. She watched the truck pull away, "Damn, my purse and phone!" Christian ran to her, "Hey, it's ok. He's only taking it a block up to a shop."

Ana really wasn't thinking. She couldn't afford a tow or a shop, she barely could afford gas. "I can't pay for any of that." Christian put his hand on her face softly and it was like all her worries stopped. "Look, calm down. It's totally my fault. I will take care of it. We can walk the block or I can drive you. Your choice."

Ana was losing it, he was a stranger, but she hopped into the car like nothing. "I don't do things like this." Christian turned the car on, "Do things like what?" Ana looked around in the car and didn't see danger, "Get in cars with strangers and trust everything they say." He laughed, "Well, that's a good thing, because this world is dangerous and I'm a limited edition. Don't worry I have a little sister and I would never hurt a woman."

He pulled out into traffic, "What's her name, your sister?" Christian smiled, "Her name is Mia. I also have an older brother and he's going to kick my ass for driving and messing with my phone." They talked along the way and Ana explained she was 21 and just out of college. "I majored in finance, but I haven't found a job yet."

Ana thought Kate was lucky, she worked for her father which in Kate's words, she sat in a big office, answered emails and phones and made 6 figures. She was interested in the media business and was learning on her own. Her father didn't pay attention to her.

Christian told her he was 23 and majored in business, just to run the family business. "Ana wasn't sure what the business was." They pulled into the shop parking lot. Ana saw two guys in a uniform that said TNT. "You own the tow truck?" Christian said, "It's a family business." They looked alike, one was older and she could tell his blonde was fading into white. They both had their arms crossed, "That is if my dad doesn't kick it first."

They got out and both of them lit into Christian's ass. Ana stood back and felt bad for him. He was so respectful she only heard, "Yes sir, I'm sorry, and it won't happen again." They walked towards Ana and she tensed up immediately. The older man was so nice and apologized immediately, "I'm so sorry this happened." Ana shook her head, "Christian apologized and has been a complete gentleman."

The younger one chimed in, "He better have been." He wiped his hands, "I'm his older brother, Elliot. Nice to meet you." She smiled, "I'm Ana and he mentioned you." The older man stepped forward, "I'm his father, Carrick Grey. Can I get you anything?" Ana pointed, "Actually my purse and phone are in my car. My best friend is probably going nuts, because I should have been at her house."

Carrick hit Christian in the arm, "Go get it!" Ana watched Christian pull up and jump on the tow truck. She smiled at his athleticism. He jumped down and handed it over quickly because the phone was ringing. "Kate, I'm sorry." Kate huffed, "Where the hell are you?" Ana explained everything. "Address now!"

Ana bit her lip and Christian just smiled. "It's my best friend, she wants to come and get me." Elliot took the phone and provided the address. Carrick invited her in to get her information, "Boys, get the car down!" Ana walked into the small shop. Carrick gave her a bottle of water.

The phone rang and she saw what looked like family pictures hanging. She saw a picture of a younger Carrick, younger Elliot, and younger Christian. She giggled, noticing the hair. The boys were hanging from the tow truck and their feet were completely off the ground. "What's so funny?" Ana jumped, seeing Christian behind her, "I can recognize you from your hair." Christian laughed and combed his hands through it, "Yeah I need a haircut."

Ana pointed, "Who's that?" Carrick smiled and sat behind his desk. "That's my grandfather. He started this whole business. He was a good man." Christian told her the love story he had heard so many times and about his parents being irresponsible teenagers. Ana knew their story was nothing like hers, "Wow, they are good parents and I'm sure your parents followed their example, you and Elliot are nice. Is he here too?" Ana pointed to his grandfather.

Christian frowned, "He had a heart attack a few months after that photo. That was our company's 4th truck. He was so proud of my dad. My grandma only lived 3 years after. She never got over losing him." Ana looked at Carrick. "He saved my grandfather's business and made it possible for the business we have now."

Carrick did save the business. Just like everything in his life, he did the best with what he had. Carrick worked out of the very first shop, but they had shops all over California and thousands of tow trucks. Theo was wrong about one thing, Carrick did make them rich. Carrick joined them, "Good old Theo."

He gave Ana some paper, "Can you write down your information for me. Full name and phone number." Ana wrote everything down and saw Kate pulling up. "Mr. Grey…" He smiled, "Please call me Carrick." Ana smiled, "Carrick, my car probably isn't worth fixing. It's old anyway. I only keep it for two reasons. One, I'm broke and two my grandpa bought it for my dad and it reminds me of them."

She told them about her grandparents and father, but didn't mention her mother. It reminds me of him. Please don't put too much into it." They both frowned, "I better rescue Elliot." Ana wasn't kidding for someone so worried, Kate forgot she was there. Elliot had perfect blonde hair and blue eyes, Kate was a goner. "Hey Kate! I'm ok!" Kate hugged her, "Ana, you scared me."

Christian ran out, "Ana wait!" Kate smiled seeing him, "This is my best friend Kate. Kate, you met Elliot and this is his brother Christian. He hit me, then rescued me." Kate shook his hand, "Nice to meet you." Christian asked Ana if she needed a spare car, until hers was fixed. Ana didn't want to be a bother, "No, I'm good." Elliot tried, but Ana turned him down, "If you change your mind, call us."

Christian saw things were going well, "Hey, how about let me buy you dinner, for your trouble?" Elliot jumped in, "Kate and I would love it. He flashed that same panty dropping smile that Christian had. "I mean, I'm fixing the car. Ana, he's sitting behind the desk." Kate answered, knowing Ana was shy, "How about Saturday night?" They all agreed and Kate gave them the address. Christian and Elliot waved, "Saturday at 3:00!" Kate and Ana pulled off in her BMW. Elliot rested his arm on his brother's shoulder, "Christian, I owe you."

Kate walked into her condo screaming, "Ana, we have a date with two hot brothers!" Ana shook her head, "I'm sure he's just trying to be nice after hitting me, but you and Elliot looked friendly." Kate grabbed her, "Don't do that, Ana you're beautiful. You let your mom get in your head too much."

Kate stood up, "Come on let's cook, it always makes you feel better." While eating dinner, Kate asked, "Move in with me." Ana laughed, "I can't afford this, I don't even have a job." Kate shrugged, "I can't afford it either and the only reason I have a job is because of my father." Kate frowned, "I don't want you going back. And you and I both know, you will go back." Ana was sick of her mom's shit, "Ok. Thanks Kate!"

After dinner they found the perfect date outfits for Saturday night. Kate picked out black jeans and a green top that matched her eyes. Ana sat on the bed swinging her legs, "Did you bring jeans?" Ana nodded, "I think so but your tops will not fit my boobs." Kate held up a jacket that would work. "I'm so excited!"
