Since I'm already on Chapter 4, I figured I would say this won't be a long story and I will probably make some time jumps along the way.

Chapter 4

Elliot and Carrick climbed in his truck. "Christian, try not to hit us on the way home." Christian and Elliot both came back home after college, they enjoyed being with their family. Christian rolled his eyes. "Son, be nice. It was an accident. I think he learned his lesson." Elliot smiled, "Yes sir."

They started the short drive to Hollywood Hills. They all lived in Grace's parents home and continued after they passed away. When the business was fully together and they had a huge cushion, they moved to a gated community. He wanted his kids safe and their neighborhood unfortunately was rough.

Carrick taught his sons the same lessons he learned from his mother and Grace's parents. Carrick tried, but decided not to have Carrick Sr. In their lives. After Theo's death, the boys went with Carrick over the summers. He taught them about cars and cleaning pools. He taught them the value of a dollar. They had money, but they were brought up like they didn't.

His boys were different but he didn't compare them. Elliot was good with hands and worked hard. He cleaned pools and did yard work. At 13 he started his own business. Now instead of working in the yards and cleaning the pools, he runs a business and sends out workers to do it. He works twice a week at the shop with his dad, but he doesn't have to.

Christian was his ambitious child. With the assistance of his dad, at just 8 years old, he started his own YouTube channel, simply titled ChrisTube. He simply reviewed toys and discussed things that kids his age were into. The channel brought in about 1.3 million annually. He took his money and put it into the family business and investments. He put himself and Elliot through college.

Carrick walked in and hugged his wife, "Hey Grace!" Grace worried about him, especially after losing her father. "When are you going to retire?" Carrick smiled, "I only do it for fun." Grace stopped working 10 years ago when Mia was born. Their third child was another slip. After Christian, Grace was on real birth control. She never forgot her pill. She actually was quite ill with a stomach virus and even though she remembered her pill, she didn't realize it didn't stay in her system. Carrick was over the moon, he got his only girl which he named after his mother.

The kids cleaned the house, learned to cook, and even did their own laundry. Carrick and Grace meant they would teach them life lessons. No matter how much money they had, no housekeeper or nanny were with them.

They sat at the dinner table and talked about their day. Christian told them about Ana and his eyes were wide. Mia laughed, "Christian's in love!" Christian tickled her, "So is Elliot!" Grace got after him about the phone, "Yes ma'am, never again."

Carrick asked, "Did she say she finished with a Finance degree?" Christian nodded his head, "Yeah and she doesn't have a job yet." Carrick reminded him that they had slots. "If she wants a trial run, I'd be happy to push her application." After they ate Carrick told the kids to clean. "Hey Elliot, you think you can finish the car by Saturday." He shrugged, "Maybe, but it's an old car. Parts might be a problem. I'll see what I can do. You like her a lot don't you?" Christian just smiled.

He took a shower and checked on work stuff. He heard his phone, "Hello." Ana bit her lip, while Kate pushed her to talk. "Hi Christian. It's Ana." Christian smiled, "Hey! Are you ok?" Ana asked, "Are jeans going to be ok for dinner?" Christian laughed, "Yeah! I mean we aren't going to McDonald's but jeans are cool."

Christian was nervous about the question. "Before I ask, I'm not feeling guilty. My dad heard you talking about your finance degree and not having a job." Ana didn't wait, "No way!" Kate hit her leg. "I don't want a handout Christian." Christian figured that, "It's not a handout. You will need to fill out the application and go through the interview process. You will also be challenged and on a month's probation." Kate was rolling. "Oh well, that's different." Christian smiled wide. "No special treatment." Ana agreed to fill out the application, "I'll see you on Saturday."

The next morning Christian went to the office. They had shops all over and tow trucks going out left and right. The building was new, but it was needed. "Morning Ros! Morning Andrea!" Christian met Ros and Andrea in college. The good thing about the business was it was tight with not a big group. They worked hard and together to get the jobs done.

Christian handled the management, Ros worked with product and services, and Andrea handled marketing. Christian turned on his Mac and saw an application for Anastasia Steele. He smiled, a little too big. "What's that smile about?" He looked at Ros and forwarded her the application. "I sent you an application and I'm hoping she will take on the financial side of things." Ros pulled it up immediately, "Fresh out of college? Are you thinking with your heart or your…" Christian narrowed his eyes at her, "Don't go there! We were fresh out of college two years ago."

Christian explained how they met and she was to be given no special treatment and she needed to conduct the interview alone. Ros laughed, "You hit her from behind and she still wants to go out with you." Christian shook his head and warned her, "If it's not a good fit, let me know. I want your real opinion." Ros agreed, "I've got it Christian."

Ros got Ana on the phone. "Good morning, I'm Ros Bailey and I'm calling about your application for TNT." Ana smiled, "Yes ma'am, I'm interested in the financial position." Ros looked over her schedule, "Would you be available to come on Friday at 10?" Ana agreed, "Thank you so much for the opportunity."

When Kate got home Ana told her about the interview. They picked out an outfit from the clothes she had. "Ana, if you get this job, you need to go shopping." Ana looked at her stuff, "I know, I have a little money left, but I can't just waste it." Kate and Ana were both like two teenagers, they sat on their beds with their phones and talked to the new guys in their life. Ana liked that Christian didn't mention the interview even though she knew he knew about it.

On Friday morning, Ana got up, made a good breakfast, and headed to the address Ms. Bailey sent her. She expected an auto shop, not a real building. She looked up, "Fancy." She opened the door and saw a tall African American woman in a navy blue dress. She pulled down her blazer and thought she was out of her league. "Good morning! I'm Anastasia Steele to see Ms. Bailey." She smiled a warm smile, "Call me Ros, please." Ana smiled, "Well in that case please call me Ana."

Ros invited her into her office. She explained, "So we're looking for someone to fill in the financial side of our group." She explained her job, Andrea's job, and Christian's job. She looked up to see if his name was a trigger. She passed that part of the interview. Ana wasn't scared and Ros liked that. "We all help each other and learn the business. She gave her a Mac and access to a spreadsheet. "Look at the financials and tell me what you think."

Ana looked at the information and Ros watched her eyes. Ana read and asked for paper and a pencil. She wrote some numbers down and said, "There's a discrepancy here." She turned the Mac around and gave her the exact number it should have been. "Nice catch! Go ahead and continue."

Ana thought this was a weird interview, she didn't ask any questions. Ros watched her carefully, she had interviewed 6 applicants this week and no one caught what she wanted. The spreadsheet was made up and it had a few issues with money.

Ana saw them all, but she was waiting for the one that wasn't obvious. "Ros?" Ros waited, "Yes?" Ana squinted, "You have trucks going to all these locations and you're spending unnecessary money, because you have so many locations. It's almost like your operators aren't asking the right questions. I'm looking at gas and mileage on trucks." Ros was interested, "What do you think about a solution?"

Ana sighed, "Well, when the consumer makes the initial call, they should have list questions. Where do you want the car towed? Honestly, the first thing they should promote is TNT, a lot of people just want it fixed. They should roll the truck from the closest location, but this spreadsheet has trucks rolling out from everywhere and doubling back."

Ana looked up and saw a big smile. "You've got it kid! I can tell Christian you're more than a pretty face." Ana blushed. "That sheet was your interview and just so you know, there was no special treatment. No one that I've interviewed picked up on all of it. I'm going to recommend you get this position. Carrick will make the decision. Good luck!"

Kate screamed, "We need to celebrate!" Ana shook her head, "I haven't gotten the job Kate!" Kate held her hands up, "Ana, I'm sure you will and not because of Christian, because you're smart. I'm proud of you." She looked at her phone that was buzzing, "Are you ready for our date?" Ana smiled on the phone, "I am. I never thought I would say this, but thanks for hitting me. See you tomorrow.

The next morning she woke up later than usual around 11. Kate was eating, "I made extra pancakes, sleeping beauty. Are you saving up that energy for Christian tonight?" Ana frowned, "Kate, what if he…I'm not experienced." Kate sighed, "Hey, don't worry. I didn't get that vibe from either of them and you know I know that vibe. Plus it's a double date. You're good."

They were eating and her phone rang, "Hello!" It was Carrick. "Hi Mr…I mean Carrick." He smiled, "I wanted to offer you the position." He explained she was on probation for a month and explained the big salary jumped after the month. The money all sounded good to her. "I really appreciate it!" Carrick congratulated her, "Ros told me you rocked it, no special treatment kid. I wanted you to be at ease on your date." They both said goodbye and Kate screamed at the top of her lungs.
