Contrary to popular belief, the Avatar is not in fact the only spirit who has a human form. They were just the first to choose to permanently tie themselves to the Weave of Destiny. Mortal disguises were very popular when the world was younger and the Spirits roamed free on the physical plane.

- You can guess how Blue and Painted would take their dates.

- Yes, they would wander about during festivals just enjoying themselves.

- But then they threw themselves into the Weave of Destiny. (They had little to do, and as they were, as spirits with lost influence, they could not influence the ongoing mess that Roku and Sozin had shoved the Balance into.)

- Zuko was born premature, at night during a new moon to boot. Unlucky all around. People had forgotten the stories that said that this was how the trickster of a fire spirit, the herald of dragons, came into being. Quietly. Unassumingly.

- Katara was born during the height of midwinter, under a full moon. Blessed. That wasn't the sign though, the sign was the instinctual healing that she was able to do. No one remembered that the soother of the isles had no teacher but healed the pained Koi bearing the Fire Isles anyway.

-Putting on the Blue Spirit mask for the first time was like a homecoming. Zuko couldn't help but feel like this was exactly what he was supposed to do. Yes he technically was going against his own people, his own country but pulling off this... trick felt right.

- Painting herself with the colours felt right. Her fury at the pollution and the desolation of (her people, HER REALM) this village was overwhelming. She had to make it right. She would make it right.
