Chapter 3
The group of heroes that consisted of the Church of Seiros, half of the Greil Mercenaries, and Luigi, had finally reached Spooks Peak. The looks of the scenery were dark. Everything was spooky to everyone. Nothing was around. No peace, no happiness. All that was around was spookiness. The trees were dead, ghosts filled the air, and more happened throughout the scene. However, Luigi tried to be courageous like the rest of his teammates. However, the group was halted by a strange ghostly being.
"Ah-haha!" Luigi screamed as he hid behind Captain Jeralt.
"Who are you?" Greil said as he brandished his axe Urvan. "Speak your name."
"Woah, woah, woah, calm down, man!" the being said. "I ain't on Bowser's side if that is what you are thinking."
"If you are not on Bowser's side, then who's side are you on?" Luigi asked.
"…No one's side, my fairest one." The strange being said. "But I can be on your side. What can I help you with?"
"We are journeying to a spooky manor that Bowser is in." Luigi said. "I have friends who are kidnapped in that haunted house."
"You know… I know there is a manor down this path." The strange being said. "Just continue down this path to get there. Also, this may be the manor that Bowser went to."
"Thanks for the tip, my fair one." Luigi said.
"You're most welcome." The being said. "Now go. I bet your friends are waiting for you."
"Yes. They are." Luigi said. He later turned to his teammates. "Come on, everyone. We have friends to rescue." Luigi later said.
Back with Bowser, he was looking through a crystal ball he found in the haunted manor's magic room. He knew exactly what was going on with Luigi. As Bowser watched in horror as Luigi was coming to his hideout, he quickly went to the balcony where his assistant Trooper was and quickly gave him a harsh order.
"Trooper, Luigi has gotten guidance to get to this hideout." Bowser explained.
"So, what do you want me to do?" Trooper asked.
"Trooper, I need you to listen carefully. I need you to summon haunted spirits to stop Luigi from getting here." Bowser ordered.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Trooper responded.
"In the meantime, I will just work on creating poison apples and other poison fruits in the magic room." Bowser said to himself. "I'm pretty sure someone will be enjoying those special treats." Bowser said as he laughed evilly.
Back with Luigi and his small band of faculty soldiers, they were getting ready to cross Dead Tree Lane. Dead Tree Lane was a lane where there was only one kind of tree: a dead tree. As the scenery was getting spookier and spookier, Luigi kept getting more frightened.
"Come on, Luigi!" Seteth hollered. "Stop fooling around!"
"Yeah, Luigi." Greil said. "Seteth is right. You need to stop fooling around."
"But, Father, look! Over there!" Mist hollered as she pointed forward.
"What the hell is that?" Greil asked.
"They're Ghost Dragons." Jeralt replied. "They are the rarest types of dragons in the world, Luigi. They are almost extinct."
"That basically means they are endangered on the continent we reside on." Greil said after hearing Jeralt's words.
"So… what could possibly go wrong with these dragons?" Luigi asked.
"These ferocious dragons, which are basically white with light blue wings, are coming right after us right now." Soren said. "Just look for yourself." As Luigi turned around, he ran for the bridge of Dead Tree Lane as he was frightened by the ferocious looks of the Ghost Dragons. Then, by everyone's shock, the dragons spoke.
"We've been waiting to find our prey for a long time." The first Ghost Dragon said.
"Yeah. Humans are definitely tasty!" The second Ghost Dragon said.
"So, what are we waiting for, my ferocious brothers? Let's attack these wretched beings who dare try to harm our society and our species!" the third Ghost Dragon hollered. As the dragons charged for Luigi's team, Luigi watched in horror. Then, he remembered something from his previous adventures of ghost-hunting. He pulled out a flashlight, and quickly absorbed the dragons within the light. However, one dragon was stunned and not yet caught from the light of the flashlight.
"Please! Please don't kill me!" the stunned Ghost Dragon pleaded.
"Any last words, you rat-packed bastard?!" Luigi asked. The dragon had no last words. Jeralt later came forth after hearing that the dragon had no last words.
"Really? You have no last words?" Jeralt asked the dragon. "Then fine. I guess I will finish the business myself!" He said as he stabbed the Ghost Dragon in the wing.
"Ah! My wing!" the dragon yelled.
"Now you lay there… and die!" Greil hollered after the dragon screamed in agony. And suddenly, as the group turned around back to their forward side, they saw exactly what the light was that they saw earlier. The light was coming from the scepter that Bowser's assistant Trooper was gifted. It turned out that Trooper was the one letting out the spirits and other haunted beings. But this also meant that Luigi and his team had finally reached their destination: Bowser's Haunted Mansion. Luigi and his teammates knew that the final battle was about to emerge, and it was finally time to rescue Mario, Peach, and Toad from the clutches of Bowser and his troops.
