Pressure.

The current feeling the tower heart was registering was pressure. One would think that an inanimate object would be incapable of feeling and memory, but the function of magical artefacts has always been a point of contention amongst those educated in the higher mysteries. The Heart however cared not. It simply knew itself as a heart, guide and a helper to the Overlords since its creation by Lord Gromgard.

The Heart had been catapulted into the gate of the Empire city by the fourth Overlord to enable his access to the capital of the empire and its Emperor, Solarius. As its magicks collided with the anti-magic wards sown into the gate of the imperial city the war began to crumble and crack, whilst the hearts magicks began to be absorbed into the various sanctuaries around the city that were designed to absorb mana. The heart could feel this as pressure and like it felt that it could feel the wards beginning to crumble and could tell that it would be finished with a explosion outwards and the Heart knew that this would strip the magic from the overlord and his minions and so kill them. The Heart having already shattered into pieces began to instead absorb the magic it was connected to and become the centre of the conflagration, minimising its area of effect and saving the overlords life.

The consequence however was a small break in the dimensional walls that it its smallest shard was sucked into. The shard was only five centimetres long and two wide and in the dimensional gap it witnessed the overlord killing the monster that Solarius became, and it began to float throughout the gap seeing realms unending, from those that was filled with eldritch horrors to realms of light, and those granted to beings known as gamers. It eventually came across a gathering of divine beings as they conducted a ritual that created a formation of power and the shard became stuck into the results outer layer, the one referred to as Aetherius. The shard knows not how long it spend in Aetherius, but it knew that as it bathed there it turned from a small, jagged shard into a smooth small ball of around ten centimetres diameter but was as powerful as it was when it was still a part of the tower heart. As the heart watched the planet that the beings had focused on it came to wish for a new Overlord but was prevented.

Millennia passed before the Heart was given an opportunity to enter and remain independent of the beings that's realm surrounded the planet Mundus. What become known as the oblivion crisis. It entered the realm through one of the many portals that now dotted the landscape and into the area of land known as the whiterun plains, and there the heart waited for someone to pick it up and use it.

One Hundred and ninety years was how long the heart waited until it was picked up, the Heart then scanned its new host and then absorbed itself into it and here starts the adventure of the first Overlord of Mundus.
