It was quiet, and then Jack heard a voice. He sat up and looked around. He was in a room but it was bare. There wasn't even a chair or a picture on the wall.

There was the voice again, calling to him. "Jack! Jack where are you?"

That voice, he knew that voice. "Jamie?" He called out. "Jamie, I'm here!"

The door creaked open and Jamie slipped in. But something was off, this Jamie didn't look like he was any older than 12, and he was wearing all white pjs with bare feet.

"Jack!" Jamie ran toward him and gave him a huge hug. "Hey kiddo, what's up?" Jack asked, hugging him back.

"Jack, I just had the craziest dream! You remember Pitch? He took me and a while later you came but he turned me bad and I hurt you but you saved me!" Jamie looked up at him with big eyes and he whispered "It was AWESOME!"

Then something happened. Jamie started convulsing like he was having a fit. He doubled over and Jack tried to come to his side but his feet were glued to the floor. When he looked down he saw the silver and black nightmare sand anchoring his feet to the floor.

"Jamie!" Jack cried out desperately. "Jamie!"

Suddenly Jamie went still. He straightened and when he looked at Jack he had that cold look to him, like he could kick a puppy and not care.

Slowly his outfit changed from white pjs to the black and silver tunic that looked so familiar to Jack.

Jamie looked down to admire his new outfit and then smiled. "You see this Jack? This is what I am now. And guess what?" Jamie strode closer to Jack and whispered in his ear, "There is nothing, Nothing, you can do about it."

Jack bolted up, knocking Bunny on his tail and scaring the crap outta Tooth.

"Crikey! A little warning next time maybe?" Said Bunny, getting up and rubbing his backside.

"Bunny! Be nice. Jack has been through a lot these past few hours." Tooth said as she turned to Jack, who was currently trying to sit up but was failing because of the pain.

"Ugh, my everything hurts," Jack groaned, trying time sit up again.

He put a hand to his head only to find out that there was a large bandage wrapped around his forehead. He tried to rip it off but Tooth came over and stopped him.

"Jack, you have to leave that on if you want it to heal properly," she scolded.

"Come on Tooth, I mean look at it. If I pulled it down it would be an eye patch and we could play pirates. I need to get back to Jamie and help him," he said rolling out of bed. And then Jack promptly fell on his face.

"Owww," he grumbled. This time it was Bunny who helped him back on his feet and who sat him down on the cot.

"Listen mate, I know you want to go after Pitch and help Jamie but-"

Jack cut him off. "No! You don't understand! You weren't there, you didn't see him in that cell. That was his reality for over a year before he gave in. And you didn't see the way he got scared when Pitch got mad. He cringed away like he was expecting to be beaten! And for all we know," Jack continued angrily, "He could have been beaten! He probably was!" Jack was breathing hard now, the world spinning in circles around him.

"Alright mate, time to lay down," said Bunny trying to get Jack to lay down but Jack wasn't having it.

"NO! I have to get to Jamie! You don't know what it's like, having your best friend in the world be tortured and having them blame you, and you knowing that their right. If I had just went sooner..." Jack was pleading with them now, trying to get up, to get to Jamie, to save him.

Just then Sandy came in and Tooth fluttered over to him and whispered something in his ear. Sandy nodded and made a small pile of dream sand in his palm. He walked over to where Bunny was restraining Jack and sprinkled it over his face.

Jack could feel himself getting tired but he fought the sand with all the strength he had left in him.

"Please, let me help him..." Jack managed before the sand took ahold of him and he fell into a deep, dreamless slumber.

Jack was in and out of consciousness for the next day or so.

When Jack was up for good he just sat on the cot and looked around. They were in the Warren but in a place where Jack hadn't been before. It was a cornered off room type thing, with trees that had shaped themselves into tables, chairs and the odd dresser. There were flowers everywhere and Jack realized that what he was sitting on wasn't a cot, it was a tree that was bent over and then went up right again, so that it was like a bed. There were sheets that looked like they were made out of one huge flower petal and some soft stuff that looked and felt suspiciously like cloud.

Jack looked to his side, poked it and winced. He wasn't wearing his hoodie, it looked like it had been cleaned and folded, it sat on one of the tree chairs to his left.

Jack looked down at himself and saw that his entire stomach was covered in a big bandage, and tiny band aids with flower patterns on them were covering all of his smaller cuts and bruises.

Just then North came in with Baby Tooth zipping in right behind him. When North saw that Jack was awake and sitting up he exclaimed, "Jack! You are up! This is good," and came over beside him.

"Yep, I'm up," Jack groaned.

Tooth wizzed in with Bunny hopping right behind her and Sandy bringing up the rear.

They all crowded him, asking him how he was feeling, if he needed anything and what all happened. Finally Bunny noticed how distressed Jack looked and told everybody to back off and give him some room.

Bunny knelt down and started checking his bandages and asking him how he felt when he pushed on them and stuff like that.

As the others started to clear out Jack said "Geeze Bunny, since when do you like playing doctor?" Jack asked wincing as Bunny applied more healing goo onto his scratches.

"Well, I'm the Easter Bunny, and people tend to associate Easter with spring, healing and nature so I have some will over plants," he gestures to the tree furniture, "And sometimes when someone gets hurt, I play doctor," Bunny finished as he gave Jack a new bandage.

A couple days later Jack was almost fully healed and while he was waiting to be healed, he and the other guardians made a plan. And a back up plan. And 3 more back up plans. You know, just in case.
