A/N - Directly following the last chapter . The chapter shows how multiple individuals spent their Saturday.
So I'll give a bit of a warning. There is a reference to sex. Nothing explicit, but a bit more obvious than in previous chapters. This chapters has a couple of my most favorite scenes.
After this chapter, only three to go before year three is finished.

As the smoke cleared from the shattered window, Luc looked around the shop, he noticed Frank broke free from Dumbledore's grasp and now had a bit of distance between them. Neither of the men held their wands and it seemed Frank used a bit of muggle fighting skills on the older man. Dumbledore, based merely on observation, seemed to have a broken nose and holding his side. It was only when the old man stood and summoned the wand that Luc took action.
"Stand down Dumbledore. It's over." The old man looked at the boy, a Hufflepuff if the scarf was accurate, and laughed. It didn't bother Luc, in fact it pleased him. He still had the advantage. While Dumbledore's attention was on Luc, Frank reclaimed his wand and separated himself even more from the deranged old man.
"I don't know who you think you are boy, but I'm Albus Dumbledore and no mere child will stop me." He started to call out the killing curse and wave the wand in the same moment Luc sent a severing spell at the man. It seemed Luc was quicker and before Dumbledore could react, the old man's wand arm lay on the ground. The wound bled heavily as Dumbledore crashed on the ground.
Frank, watched in shock, he did not see it going this way. At the same time, Luc stood a bit more straight and began to release the second crutch from him hand. Before either of the men could do much else or send any sort of spell to stop the blood pooling under the man, a blurry flash moved past them and both heard, more than saw, the blur and Dumbledore apparate away.
*TGE*TGE*TGE*
Arriving at the shack, Gellert cursed before closing the gaping wound. After summoning the few blood replenishing potions they acquired and pouring them down the other man's throat, Gellert stopped and thought about the long term impact to that morning's activity. Now it was obvious Albus escaped and once they checked the island they would realize he was gone as well. Maybe their only saving grace was the apparently still secret escape of Black and Zabini.
Albus, pale from the amount of blood lost, started moaning and Gellert ignored him. He deserved to be in a bit of pain. What happened in that shop? What stopped Albus from grabbing one kid? The kid was right there. Grab him and leave. Maybe Gellert's belief in Albus really was misplaced. He only needed Albus for two reasons. Over the years on Ode Ore, Gellert took advantage of the massive library and researched the second and third brothers. With time on his side, he eventually determined what families ended up with each gift.
When Black entered the shack and saw Dumbledore, the other wizard responded with an almost amused snort. "Which kid got him?" Gellert shrugged, he really didn't know nor did he care. "Although, they may not have been kids. One of the people in the shop, one of them was my old friend. As a werewolf his scent is pretty distinctive and the only people in there were kids."
"That is interesting, I missed what actually happened in the apothecary, but for someone to have gotten enough of a jump on Albus to do, —" He waved at the now one armed man, "— that, would have to of been a pretty experienced individual. Neither of the boys in there looked to be old enough to be considered an adult, let alone an experienced dueler."
Sirius huffed, much like a dog, "That means our escapes may not be as secretive as we hoped. Do we continue to follow him blindly?" Gellert shrugged, he had a wand and could easily disappear. He didn't need to be in the shadows much longer. All he needed was visit the Gaunt and Potter families. Now knowing about the Longbottom connection, Gellert could find the wand without Albus if needed.
"Let's see how it plays out, we are out of blood replenishing potions and he could probably use two or more." The men went to different areas of the small cottage and didn't talk. Neither like the other, but at the moment they still needed the other.
Some hours later, "Where's the witch?" Gellert asked after realizing the absence of the woman.
Sirius looked around, "Don't know. I left last week but she was here then."
"We left last night and she was here complaining."
"Maybe she left and we don't have to worry about her." Gellert hummed, he didn't like leaving loose threads like that, it only came back to bite you, in the end.

The fallout of that morning's Hogsmeade battle would be discovered eventually, but for the moment, the French aurors were able to mask the damage as a prank gone wrong. It seemed the shop owners under the charm took the story as truth. After taking the missing arm and corresponding wand as evidence, Luc and Frank ensured the remaining team members were uninjured before they returned to the Three Broomsticks. The group found Severus sitting at the same large table with enough drinks for everyone.
"If you didn't figure it out, it was Grindelwald who saved Dumbledore. He must have been the wizard, —" Severus pointed to the Minerva stand-in, "— You fought. After I cast the revelio he left but returned. What in Merlin's name happened?"
Luc motioned for Dora to speak, knowing his story would probably take quite a bit of time. With a nod, Dora began, "After you left Severus, we stepped around and when Remus sensed Black's presence we broke the vial. Since we didn't know if there was a length of time or anything, we wanted to wait until the last possible moment."
"Bloody brilliant thought Severus. Sirius stalked around the back of the shop and only attacked when Henri and Marc appeared. He charged Dora and shifted to his human form during his leap." When Remus paused he shook his head, "That was something they practiced, he never could quite get it right. It seems as if he's gotten it down now. As he launched I pushed Dora out of the way and grabbed him around his scruffy neck." Severus noticed the wolf's hands as they clenched into tight fists.
Dora noticed as well and started to rub his hands. "When Remus tightened his grip, Black must have recognized his scent and murmured Remus's name. It shocked Remus enough to slacken his hold. Black shifted back to the dog and broke free. He crashed through the window."
"I should have known he'd recognize my scent that close. So now he's gone and knows that I am somehow involved. We've lost our advantage I fear." Dora set her head on his shoulder and looked at Luc. She would be ready to shut him down if he said anything disparaging to Remus.
"Remus, I wouldn't worry about it. I knew from the outset, if this didn't capture all of them, they would know. Now whether they think we knew before hand or after what happened in the apothecary is meaningless." Those who weren't in the apothecary sat up, interested to hear what happened. "I'll let Frank start, I showed up in the middle."
Frank, lifted his glass and swallowed the entire contents, "Well selected Severus. I want to first say, I now believe Dumbledore did gain access to the castle on the day Draco was cursed." At the outcries, he held up his hands, "After the students were sequestered in the Great Hall, I took to walking the halls. In one of the unused sections of the school I complained about Amelia knowing the enchantments were weak and still allowing almost a thousand students to be there. I heard laughter. I couldn't find anyone and the only portrait frame was empty. I heard that laughter this morning when I was about to enter the apothecary."
Severus cleared his throat, "One moment Frank, before you continue, the hall, fourth floor between the towers and where the old transfiguration rooms are?" Frank nodded in surprise, "That's where Sophie and Minerva stuck Albus's portrait. We weren't sure how it was already animated, but it is and they placed it there. Sophie knew an old enchantment used at Castelobruxo and warded the frame so he can't leave, but he likes to hide. He does that ominous laugh thing and it echos down the hall."
"Well, I feel a little better now. I assume the portrait is still there because all the former heads have enchanted them so they have to remain in the castle?" Severus nodded. "Ok, well I heard the laugh this morning and motioned to Luc before I entered the apothecary. Once there, I felt something, I can't explain what I felt, but the amount of magic in the place felt really odd. And dark, it made my magic shudder. As I made my way to one of the closer aisles, I remained at the head, not wanting to get too far until I knew Luc was there."
"I have to admit Frank, I have not seen your country's aurors often, but if you are a good representation of them, then I have to think the Minister is a bit daft." Frank chuckled and shrugged at Luc's candid assessment.
"I loved my job, but after last year I could't put my family through it any longer. My new role is enjoyable as well and I find myself liking the ability to go home at the end of the day. Amelia is an acquired taste, she means well, I know she does, but she has some very strong beliefs. Her view of the world is very black and white, I believe that is part of the problem. Plus Fudge isn't the strongest of leaders. Luckily, the individuals who have the same beliefs as I do, well, they are who Fudge leans on for advice."
Severus snorted but waved Frank to continue. "Anyway, I looked when I heard the shop door and in the moment my attention diverted I was grabbed from behind. But, Luc's appearance seemed to distract Dumbledore just enough for me to throw a wandless spell at the front window. When it blew I elbowed him and in the moment he grunted in pain, I spun and punched him. He released me and I got as far away from him as I could."
Henri, who played Blaise, slapped the former British auror on the back. "Brillant! We have been incorporating muggle hand to hand combat and found most wizards are so shocked we only need one or two moves before we can subdue them."
Still chuckling, Frank motioned for Luc to pick up the story, "It seems as if Frank is leaving the rest of the story to me. Once the smoke from the blasting spell cleared and I knew Frank was safe, I called for Dumbledore to step down. I honestly forgot I looked like a student. He laughed and tried to send the killing curse. I severed his wand arm." Luc expected the gasps from those at the table, to give them a moment, he took a sip of his drink.
"I agree with Frank, excellent choice. But to your questions, yes Albus Dumbledore is now down a wand arm. After I severed it and before I could do anything else, someone ran past. I more sensed the movement than noticed it, before the person apparated away with Dumbledore. After what you said, Grindelwald didn't engage, just saved the old man."
Dora looked up, "Mum said there was a rumor about their relationship, nothing was ever confirmed, but maybe Grindelwald cares for Dumbledore." The snort from Severus made the witch smile, "Or whatever reasons he remained with Dumbledore still exist."
"That seems more than likely, the question is, what is it Dumbledore and Grindelwald want." Frank schooled his expression, he suddenly had a thought. A thought he didn't like.
*TGE*TGE*TGE*
Harry and Blaise knew something was going on, Daphne gave the pair a speculative look and Hermione seemed focused on the text in front of her. It was the third noise from her friends that caused Hermione to look up, "No, I don't know what is going on. I know exactly the same as you three. Severus needed hairs, which means someone will be masquerading as you all. No, I wasn't asked, so either I wasn't to be present or, well I don't know what the other option could be, but something else."
The other three looked around a bit put out. "Now, since we are all on the same page and until Severus returns, —" Hermione motioned toward the head table and the empty seat next to Aurora, "— I recommend you study."
Professor McGonagall passed the table at that moment and laughed. "Miss Granger makes valid points." She looked at the other three who pulled their books toward them and started to read. It may have been Saturday morning, but Hermione made a deal with her friends, they study in the morning and the rest of the weekend she won't harp on it.
Daphne, not being aware of Draco's cure, tried to keep Hermione's mind off the missing boy. "Fine, but then you agreed to hang out with me and Pavarti. I have some ideas and I want to see how they translate." Hermione sighed, but knew she did agree to the condition. The distractions Daphne provided were helpful. If not for her, then Hermione would be with Harry and Blaise in their private room talking about Draco.

After those in Hogsmeade finished telling what they saw from their perspectives and the official documentation complete, the team settled at the Three Broomsticks and proceeded to celebrate. It was a celebration as the mastermind who had been cursing people was now down a wand and the arm that used it. If the old man survived, he would be less of a risk. Severus returned to Hogwarts a few hours before dinner in a very relaxed state.
Aurora, who decided to wait in Severus's quarters, used the time going over some homework she collected Friday. When the floo roared to life, she watched as her fiancé stumbled out. "Aurora, you're so pretty." Severus ran his hand over her hair and tilted her face. "So pretty and nice to kiss." Severus planted an intense kiss to her lips before pulling her from her chair. The couple stumbled toward the bedroom. The stumble was more because of Severus slightly off balance stance and his distraction at trying to get Aurora's jumper off without breaking the kiss.
Sometime later, the couple lay tangled in the sheets and Aurora looked at the man passed out beside her. She didn't mind it, he was a good lover and so appreciative of her. Knowing his history with women, she understood, but that didn't mean his actions didn't make her feel better about herself. What woman didn't appreciate it when their man stood in amazement at the sight of their woman naked. Aurora loved it, it fact it made her feel bit powerful knowing the power she held over Severus.
"Oh Severus, you are going to be in so much pain." Aurora chuckled and slipped from the bed. She placed a gentle kiss to his lips and smiled when she felt his pucker in response. After showering and pulling on a pair of leggings and oversized jumper, Aurora returned to her grading.
Shortly after resuming her work, Aurora was again disrupted, again by the floo, but this time by Lucius Malfoy, "Severus you there? It's been hours! Get over here." With a sigh, the witch made her way to the floo while casting a muffliato towards the bedroom, she knelt in front of the fire.
"He's home but asleep Lucius. I can have him call you when he wakes."
Lucius's expression shifted to concern, "What do you mean asleep? Was he injured? I'm coming through." Before Aurora could explain Lucius stood in front of her. In order to keep him from waking the more than likely still drunk wizard, Aurora froze Lucius to the floor.
"Let me explain." At Lucius's huff, Aurora smiled, "He's fine, just drunk. After he got home he passed out on me. So I'm grading and waiting for the inevitable hangover complaints." Lucius laughed deeply only to be cut off when Narcissa stepped through.
"Oh Cissy," Lucius couldn't speak through his laughs. He waved at Aurora who rolled her eyes.
"I don't know the whole story, all I do know is when Severus returned he was drunk as a skunk. Right now he is sleeping it off and I expect him to be hungover whenever I see him again."
Cissy, after stopping her own chuckling at the story, sighed, "I would love to stay but I need to get back to Wiltshire, —" she gave both Lucius and Aurora a knowing look, "— as does Lucius. Come along."
"No Cissy, please let me stay. Come on, I will share the memory with you later." Lucius tried to talk his wife around.
"Why? Let the poor man suffer in private and you can bring it up later. Probably when Minerva is around along with Dora. We can have a dinner party or something. You know Dora will tell you the entire story." That did it, with a quick flick of his wrist, Lucius ended the sticking charm and walked to the floo.
"Quite right. As you said the other day, we should have the family visit more often. I don't think Ted or Andi would mind the short notice. Matt seems to think Ted's idea about recording shows is a good idea, we're planning to test them over the next couple of days. Plus, Dora knows what happened today so maybe she can come over. Remus has some ideas for their extra defense training…" Lucius stepped into the floo while still babbling his ideas.
"I'll let you know what Dora tells us." Cissy gave Aurora a quick kiss to the cheek and she too was gone.
"All I need now is for the children to show up asking where he was today." Aurora looked to the door for a few moments and when there wasn't a knock, she returned to the desk with her papers.

Frank, who hadn't imbibed quite as much as the others, popped into the parlor let Alice know all was ok and then made his way to the Hall of Ancestors. "Grandfather?" The portrait in question sat motionless, in a position similar to how it had for hundreds of years prior to speaking with his grandson the previous year. The tilting of his head gave Frank permission to speak.
"Why would someone, someone other than our family wish to access our land?" The portrait froze, not as portraits are want to do, but in fear.
"Why do you ask Grandson?" This was what his father worried would happen. Feared would happen. Why his father did everything he did.
"Today I participated in a mission and while impersonating Neville, someone attempted to kidnap me and spoke of the ancestral lands." Frank didn't mention the conversation when relaying what happened in the apothecary. In reality it was only a few sentences before Frank broke Dumbledore's hold and the battle was done. But there was something else, for some reason Frank decided to keep this bit of information to himself. Frank watched as his many times grandfather nod.
"Father spoke of this time. A prophecy was given from one whose visions were without error. A person Father trusted above anyone. The prophecy stated the secret of the Gryffindor land would be the final piece before an evil overtook the entire world. Once in power, the evil would force many horrors on nature and as a result magic would rebel. In magic's final act, it would leave all beings in order to protect the world." Frank blinked very slowly. That was unexpected.
"The land's secret?"
"A secret Father was the last to know. I was not told for the safety of the family. If the secret continued to be passed to our family, the vision turned darker and the end of magic would also be the end of mankind."
"Thank you Grandfather" Frank left the hall and returned to his family. This must be another reason why Grindelwald remained with Dumbledore. Frank just couldn't figure out why he or Neville were important. How did they relate to his theory?
*TGE*TGE*TGE*
Aurora expected Severus to be awake by now, she finished her marking and dressed for dinner. She just checked on the man and he was still drooling on his pillow. Knowing she needed to get to the hall, she placed a few potions on the nightstand. With a sigh, she closed the door to the bedroom and grabbed the more casual robe she wore on weekends.
As she opened the door, she came face to face with four children. "I actually expected you earlier." She waved them into the room.
"I promised to spend the afternoon with Daphne. She and Pavarti used the time to try different hairstyles on themselves and me. I told Harry, Blaise, and Neville they couldn't come without me." Hermione stopped and all four stared at Aurora. The older witch motioned to the seats and the group all sat down before Aurora began to explain.
"He's sleeping." The children, much as Lucius did, immediately feared something untoward occurred to Severus. "He's fine. He would not appreciate me going into anymore detail and I really don't know anything that happened."
The door to the bedroom opened and a very rough looking Severus stepped into the main room. "Thank you Aurora. And there will be no discussions on today. It is fine." Severus, who held a vial, downed the liquid and shook his head. "I should figure out an alteration to make this more palatable." The children, who didn't know what the vial was, remained quiet and watched Severus.
"Lucius and Cissy came by earlier." She snickered and Severus groaned.
"You four go to dinner. Aurora will escort you." He helped Aurora to stand and ushered everyone from his quarters. As he shut the door, he turned back to his room. More sleep would help.
*TGE*TGE*TGE*
Lucius found himself in tears after hearing about Severus's drunk afternoon with the French DMLE. His displeasure however focused on the fact Dumbledore and Black were in Hogsmeade with apparently independent plans.
"We have to be more aware until Black is caught. Dumbledore is still dangerous, even with only one arm, —" Lucius stopped speaking and had a speculative look in his eye. "Remus, I know you weren't there, but when you heard it from Luc, did it sound like Grindelwald immediately left after rushing to Dumbledore's aid?"
The werewolf paused to chew his dinner, "From how it was explained, no I envisioned a bit of a delay, not incredibly long but a lag." Dora nodded her agreement and both looked back Lucius.
"Interesting, I wonder why he didn't grab the arm." Dora thought on the comment and didn't have a good answer.
"I'll mention it to Luc. I think there is something we are missing. I just wish we could figure out what that something was."
The story told to Lucius and Cissy included the discussion on what Grindelwald and Dumbledore wanted. It would be something everyone who heard the question would think on.
*TGE*TGE*TGE*
On the same Saturday as the show down in Hogsmeade, the ICW continued their investigation into what happened on Ode Ore. The inhabitants on the island, typically less than enthusiastic to work with the authorities, agreed because there was something not right about Albus Dumbledore. Gellert Grindelwald spent his years on the island quietly working in the library and assisting the others in all the necessary work for survival on the island.
The auror in charge of questioning asked how the man could be so different from the mad, power hungry despot arrested all those decades earlier. One of the convicts only laughed, "We are all mad, power hungry despots who want to rule the world. We just understand each other." The auror shook his head and made notes on what the man said.
The convict continued, "I can't say I totally agreed with what Gellert promoted, but he certainly was effective. If I had been a bit more persuasive …" the convict's voice faded out as he thought of what could have been. "When Dumbledore arrived, we saw a change in Gellert. He still did his share but spent more and more time with the other man."
One of the convicts, a wizard guilty of many horrible acts, mentioned how often the pair discussed the same thing. "I don't understand it. The two of them would sit and talk about fairytales. You know Beedle the Bard stories. And it wasn't like they were talking about all of them, just the one. Just the Three Brothers." The investigators, who were among the best in the world, took note of the comment and continued their interview.
When the investigators returned to their office, their notes were provided to an auror newly returned from leave to transcribe and comment on the notes. Many of the things noted in the interviews repeated, most of the convicts did not like Albus Dumbledore. They did not trust him. They did not feel safe around him. They felt magic. Very dark magic. Very powerful, dark magic in a place where magic fails.
The auror made notes to follow up on how that could be since the location of the island negated all magic. The young woman recently returned from maternity leave and confirmed the only fairytale repeated by the two British wizards was the Three Brothers. She read those notes again, something about this point seemed important.

As Saturday afternoon faded in the early evening, Frank Longbottom waited for the response to his request, he could have gone another route, but right now he needed to keep this very quiet. When the owl returned with the response, Frank nodded with a bit of determination. "Alice, I need to run out. I don't think I'll be back in time for dinner, so you and Aggie eat without me."
Alice Longbottom, an accomplished witch, gave her husband a look he saw many times when he was in the DMLE. She wanted and expected an explanation.
"I have to go speak with Sophie, I'm not going to do anything crazy. Just visit the school." Alice saw the twitch in his right eyebrow. He wasn't lying, but he wasn't telling the complete truth. She tilted her head. "I promise to tell you everything, even if I don't have all the answers." She sighed, knowing it was the best she was going to get.
"Fine. I love you, be careful."
Frank pressed his lips to hers and mumbled to her, "Aren't I always?" Before she could respond, Frank stepped into the floo and called out for Sophie's office.
"No Frank you aren't." Alice rolled her eyes and went to find her daughter. Last time Alice checked, Aggie was drawing out plans on how to get Crookshanks from Wiltshire to Leeds. Maybe Jean would agree for Crooks to have a playdate here one day. Hermione left the kneazle to watch over Draco. She worried the cat would leave the school for the Manor and how could she explain not being concerned about where her familiar went.
*TGE*TGE*TGE*
"Frank, what can I do for you that you can't put into the letter?" Sophie questioned the man before he fully emerged from the floo. Looking around the room, Frank noticed no portraits, but still wanted to be cautious. With a flourish of his wand, Frank placed a secrecy bubble around the pair.
"I need to get into Hogwarts Sophie. When I was there last year, I didn't tell you exactly what happened when I took the hat and sword." Sophie raised her hand and the man stopped.
"I believe the reason you didn't was for safety, be it yours, mine or the school and her students. Whatever the reason, I suspect that is still the case. So I will not question you, but I will go with you. I don't like the idea of you walking around that school all alone."
Frank knew it was the right move, he felt it in his bones. "Sounds good, we can talk about everything when we return." The pair stepped into the floo and arrived in Sophie's office at the old castle. "It's probably better if you just come with me." The witch nodded and the pair exited the office and turned toward Gryffindor Tower.
Three hours later Sophie and Frank returned to her office at the new school and the witch was still stunned silent. She watched Frank place the secrecy bubble over them before she opened her mouth. "I don't even know what to say Frank. I am simply stunned."
Frank chuckled, "Yes, imagine being me. So when I took the sorting hat, I returned it to the people who created it. After it was gone, it appeared in the portrait with Godric." Frank thought back to that day, to the day he took his birthright.
"Quite an intriguing turn of events. I have to admit, I didn't really understand what he was saying about the prophecy and his family lands." Sophie knew she'd think on what she heard, but she wanted to know what Frank thought.
"I agree. It didn't tell me much either, —" Frank scrunched his nose, "— I think it might be a clue. I just have to work out what dear old granddad wasn't saying." The pair sat in the office for a few minutes before Sophie asked the next most obvious question.
"He didn't say where the lands were, only they exist." Frank gave the witch a bit of a smile and sat back in his chair.
"So this summer I started my search to find the lost lands of Godric Gryffindor. What I've yet to mention to anyone other than a portrait at my home and now you, was the comment Dumbledore made when he had me and thought I was Neville."
"He caught you?" Sophie was not pleased, she wondered why wizards felt the need to jump into dangerous situations willy nilly. She glared a bit and the man had the good grace to look abashed. She decided to hold off on berating the man, for now at least. "Wait, Dumbledore caught you?"
Frank shrugged, "Sort of a secret, so keep it between us."
"We will discuss that later. What did he say to you?"
"He stated Neville was the secret to access the Gryffindor lands. I don't know how he knows it, but somehow he knew of the Longbottom ancestry. If he wanted Neville, it would mean Dumbledore knows where those lands are." Sophie leaned back in her chair with a speculative look. "Yes, I'm curious about them as well. I spoke with the first Longbottom, the unknown and lost son of Godric Gryffindor. Grandfather explained that his father, that Godric, heard a prophecy and for that reason Godric sent his son away and warded the family lands."
Sophie had not made it this far in her career lacking the ability to grasp complex concepts. "So, you are looking for some land, probably a large swath of land, where anyone, other than a Longbottom, is repelled. Like a muggle repelling charm, but almost easier in that if you don't have Longbottom blood, you don't want to be there."
Frank's eye popped wide, "You are incredibly intelligent Sophie." Frank jumped up smiling. "I think Neville and I found it this summer, only we didn't realize it. Alice's father, he loved to document his travel, noted how this specific area was barren but that wasn't what we saw. How he didn't even want to stay in the area."
"Frank, —" the man looked before he jumped into the floo, "— just take someone with you. If Dumbledore is aware of the location, there may be some sort of alert or curse on the property. I don't want you to be injured again. It takes too long to get someone willing to work with Lucius."
"Of course Sophie, I have just the person in mind."
Glancing at the clock, Sophie noted dinner wasn't quite over. She slipped into the Hall and settled at the Head Table ignoring the looks from her staff.
*TGE*TGE*TGE*
Frank returned home and spent the hour until it was Aggie's bedtime in quiet contemplation. Alice waited until Aggie was asleep before she asked him to explain. "I guess it started last spring, when we planned to destroy the beast at Hogwarts." Alice's eyes narrowed at her husband keeping something so important quiet for so long. "Yes and sorry, it was just, I didn't really know anything and it's only been today that things have started to connect."
Frank explained how he first came to know about his family's history. Who the oldest Longbottom was and why they spent such a long time in the West Country that summer.
"You've found it then?" Frank hummed, he didn't know for certain, absolute certain, but he was pretty confident. "You find someone you trust totally and completely, someone who will have your back. Now tell me about today." Frank kissed Alice and went into talking about what happened in Hogsmeade and what Dumbledore said. She immediately hit her husband and berated him for his desire to throw himself into danger.
"I know and I don't think any of us thought this was what he wanted." Frank paused and thought how he wanted to say it, "He wants immortality Alice, he has spent his entire life searching for it and he knows how to do it. It's late but I need to speak with Luc." Alice waved her husband off.
