Hello, everyone! Lumi's back, with another chapter of my story. This time, we delve into my past, as tumultuous as it was. Enjoy!

I should probably cover my past next, right? Like I said before, I was born human, to a human mother and an absent father. Every time I tried to ask Mom about my father, she always got this vacant look in her eyes, before changing the subject. I didn't mind it much, though; she cared a lot for me and taught me how to be strong and independent. I only had a couple of friends at school; I wasn't very interested in the typical things girls my age talk about. Never got a boyfriend, either; they just didn't interest me.

However, that all changed the morning after my 15th birthday. I woke up with a full-body chill, like I had been plunged into ice water. Then, a sharp pain shot up my spine, forcing me to roll onto my side and let whatever I was laying on stick out. Eventually, the pain faded, as did the chill, and I turned to see what happened. To my shock, a pair of white fluffy tails peeked out from my undergarments, and I immediately recognized them as Alolan vulpix tails. When my mom came in to wake me, I shoved them down my pants to hide them, despite how uncomfortable doing so was.

Slowly over the next few days, the changes continued. When fur began growing in, I told my mom I wasn't feeling well and couldn't go to school; I think she thought I was being rebellious or something, as she chose not to press me on it. However, when I felt my ears move and sharpen, she finally noticed something was wrong…and she didn't like it. I felt her grow distant, as if she didn't want to acknowledge that her daughter was turning into a Pokémon.

Eventually, the changes stopped, leaving me an anthro Alolan vulpix. Six tails hanging behind me, white fur all over my body, and pointed fox ears that twitch at the slightest sound. Oh, and the sounds! My sense of hearing was so good, I could hear my mother's breathing from downstairs, even through the closed door! My sense of smell and taste also grew stronger, though not as much as my hearing.

It is around that time that my mother reached her breaking point. I didn't know at the time, but there was something in her mind that was preventing her from really noticing my changes; she wasn't completely aware of how I changed, but she still knew I changed. However, that blocker was straining her mental resources, and eventually, she was going to snap. I didn't notice until a few months after my changes stopped, but then I saw my mother walk into the house carrying a leash…and a Pokéball.

Her gaze was slightly unhinged as she spoke in a monotone voice, "If you're turning into a beast, then I might as well treat you like one!" Then, she pulled her arm back to throw the ball at me. I didn't know if it would work on me at the time, so it never occurred to me to dodge; I was frozen to the spot. Thankfully, someone else wasn't. From behind me, a thin ray of ice flew by (which felt good against my fur, by the way) and struck my mother's hand, freezing the ball to her skin. Then, a white ninetales leaped in front of me, his tails fanning out behind him.

He looked up into my mother's eyes, and suddenly, her demeanor changed completely. All I caught was her eyes seemed to glow pink for a moment before she lapsed into what looked like a drugged state. Then, he spoke to me.

"I'd leave now while you can; my hypnosis won't last long. It appears she's building up a resistance to me, after all."

I didn't question why I understood him; I was already used to hearing the various bird Pokémon out my window. Instead, other questions wrestled in my head, trying to get out: Who is he? How does he know me and my mother? Is that what I will look like in the future? However, a growl from him snapped me out of my reverie, he was motioning me with his tails to follow. I glanced one last time at Mom sadly, then raced out of the house and into the woods, following the strange ninetales.

Once we were far from civilization, I managed to call out to him, "Please, I need to know! Who are you?"

He paused, standing next to the tree in a rather majestic way. "Can't you tell yet? Then again, I did leave shortly after you were conceived. I'm your father."

Cliffhanger! I know, not really a big reveal, but at the time it was for me. Anyway, the next chapter will take a bit, as it will have some...interesting images ahead. I'll try to keep things as PG as possible, but them's the breaks!

Farewell, everyone. And may your Crystal never melt!
