Xenter:Well, I do agree I was lazy on that chapter and didn't have motivation, while I could have done better with Makarov, even though he didn't do that in the manga or anime I believe, but I definitely could have done better with Happy. Also, Laxus wasn't introduced then anyways, and I want him to be introduced again as he originally was. Also, the explanation was because of exactly what you said, most writers don't do it. I wanted to set myself apart by explaining what they look like. Sure, it's slight and I admit it can be a hassle and to some a waste of paragraphs, but I don't want to have to force my readers to have to go to the wiki to check up what they look like. They should be able to read it right here, at least in my opinion. Also, our opinions differ o pictures being able to describe them better than words, but hey, I respect your opinion. I agree with what you said about Happy saying, "Natsu LIIIIIIKES to drag people." However, if you are talking about Natsu getting crushed by Makarov Dreyar, I'm to lazy to move this hahahaha, well that's because Natsu has better reactions now that he was able to avoid it, as he was trained for years, as you will read, he's able to control the temperature of his flames to there white version. Not saying Natsu would beat Makarov by the way, he would still get slaughtered as he is now.
I Own Nothing
The Bond of a Father! Along with Everlasting Problems!
As Natsu passed Romeo as he walked down the street he patted the boys head. The boy looked up, surprised as his eyes were closed and his face was buried in his knees as he cried. He smiled when he saw Natsu walking towards the nearby mountain, where his father was last seen headed towards, however he looked confused when he saw that girl from the guild.
'She must be new,' he thought.
XxX
"It's freezing Natsu," Lucy said as she rubbed her shivering body. Happy looked at her, a smile on the blue cats face.
"Well we are in the cold."
"SHUT UP HAPPY!" Lucy screeched.
Happy smiled, cheering before he looked at Natsu. "Hey Natsu, are there any fish in the mountains?"
Lucy looked at the cat weirdly. "Why would there be fist, ON A MOUNTAIN THAT'S SNOWING!"
Happy jumped and hid in front of Natsu, as he was in front of Lucy. "Lu~cy is scary."
Natsu just patted Happy's head. "I know Happy, I know."
Lucy grumbled. "Don't agree with him," the girl said before shivering again. "I can't take it anymore. I'm using my Celestial Spirit Magic to keep myself warm. You two can freeze for all I care."
Lucy was about to summon a spirit until she noticed something. She looked at the duo in front of her curiously. "Actually, why aren't you cold?"
Natsu looked back at her with a smile. "Well, because of my Fire Dragon Slayer Magic I'm usually warm. It takes a lot to get me cold actually. And Happy has fur."
Lucy nodded before swiping the key in midair. "Open Gate of the Grandfather Clock, Horologium!"
A giant grandfather clock appeaed after the magic formula closed and the white shine dissipated. It its place stood a tall, brown grandfather clock with long, black arms, a glass case, a Roman-numeral clock at the center and a small face at the top with slit eyes and a thin, twily mustache-like mouth.
"Yes, Lucy-san," Horologium asked.
Lucy opened up the glass case and hoped inside, sighing at the newfound warmth before closing the case and moving her mouth, although Natsu couldn't hear her.
"What?" he asked.
"It's so much warmer in here, she said," Horologium said. "I am her interpreter whenever she acts like this. Please excuse the mistress."
Natsu nodded and continued walking, followed by Horologium. They walked for several minutes before Lucy eventually got fed up with the situation and started to move her mouth again.
"What mission did this man even take, she asked," Horologium mimicked.
"Macao took a mission to stop a Vulcan that was assaulting travelers on this mountain. We should be running into the Vulcan anytime soon actually."
Not any later than Natsu said that did a massive creature slam down on the three, blowing Natsu away and almost Horologium and Lucy away as well. It would have if the creature didn't grab Lucy's Celestial Spirit, smiling at Lucy who was contained inside of Horologium.
"Pretty woman," the Vulcan said.
It was a large, anthropomorphic monster that resembled a primate. They possessed distinctive facial features, elongated chins, prolonged ears and pointed heads that resembled a single horn on top of their head. They had gargantuan arms, and sequentially had large hands that attached to their muscular torsos. They had smaller-scaled legs that feature a long tail connected to the bottom of their torsos.
"Shriek, she cried."
XxX
Horologium sighed as the large Vulcan leapt around Lucy, attempting to open the glass case to get at the beautiful girl inside. However, after a quick golden light and particles flying into space Horologium vanished. Lucy paled at that. Her Celestial Spirit vanished, meaning she couldn't maintain his existence in the world any longer.
"Pretty woman," the Vulcan cried, and began to reach out towards Lucy in a perverse manner. Lucy screamed, just as Natsu appeared through the entrance of the ice-made cave, charging the Vulcan.
"HEY YOU DAMN, DIRTY APE!"
The Vulcan turned and looked at Natsu who, as he was running on ice, slipped and slid all the way into a nearby wall of ice. The Vulcan laughed at Natsu; however Lucy looked like a mixture of relieved and hopeless. That was when happy flew by her and wrapped her up by the tail, and flew to the entrance of the cave.
"Woman!" The Vulcan cried, however it didn't have time to do anything as a flaming fist impacted directly into the side of its face.
The Vulcan growled and shot forward in a frenzy, only to be sent into a nearby wall when an axe impacted with its body. Natsu looked at the creature that did so, who he assumed was summoned by Lucy as he knew of no creature that looked the way this creature did.
The creature was extremely tall, and heavily muscular with an athletic humanoid appearance. Its features were highly reminiscent to both a bull, and also a cow. It's body was covered in a black and white pattern similar to those of dappled cows, and the upper part of it from the waist up seemed more massive than the lower one. Its head was bovine in shape, with small, elongated ears that jut outwards from the sides of his head, and a pair of horns that testified it as a bull. It had dark eyes with a flat nose that bore a large golden ring in it, similar to those carried by real bulls. Its muscular chest bore six udders, two on its pectorals and four on its upper abdominals. The tail that sprouted from its back, ending in a dark tuff, was quite small, if it was compared to the large mass of its body at least.
Its massive body was mostly left bare, as it wore dark indumenta, similar to a pair of swimming briefs, covering its groin held up by a red, studded belt, with a circular thin, golden metal buckle, with a pair of curved protrusions that jut outwards from it in its upper part. It also wore simple dark boots with lighter upper edges, which consisted of three lines circling his legs, and had a red belt circling his neck, where a golden cowbell was attached. Its forearms were wrapped in bandages, and it wore brown fingerless gloves. Crossing its chest diagonally and passing over his right shoulder was a large, plain dark belt closed by a simple buckle, to which the creature attached its axe, or so Natsu assumed.
"Who the hell are you," Natsu asked, very confused by where the creature came from.
"Name's Taurus, one of Miss Lucy's Celestial Spirits," the creature said.
"Well, I guess we're on the same side then Taurus."
"No. You fight for this boy as I've been told, I fight for Miss Lucy's nice body!"
Natsu just rolled his eyes before a giant, red magic formula, appeared in front of his mouth.
"Just don't get hit, I'm ending this now! Fire Dragon's Roar!"
Steaming, white, hote flames sprang from the magic seal, melting all ice that was near it. In fact, even Taurus was sweating and creeping away from Natsu, the only one who seemed not to be affected.
The flames collided with the Vulcan, slamming it into a wall and began to roast it. Natsu however cancelled the attack out before the Vulcan was fatally injured.
"That might be Macao," Natsu said as he walked up to him. He kicked the Vulcan, and it slowly changed form. It reverted into Macao's friendly face. Macao was a slim, mildly muscular man of average height with short, straight, slicked back dark blue hair. He had linear dark eyebrows, dark eyes, and a prominent nose with a flat, rectangular front. The lower part of his face was covered in quite a large amount of stubble, which included a thin mustache. His guildmark was located on his right bicep, positioned just below his shoulder.
Natsu smiled. "Lucy, are mission is complete."
XxX
Natsu walked back into town, carrying Macao on his back as Lucy slowly stepped behind him. Natsu walked up to the lonely form of Romeo, patting his head and walking away, as Lucy quickly caught up. As Romeo looked up to see his injured father smiling at him he smiled and cried, leaping into his fathers arms. However, before Natsu and Lucy got out of sigh Romeo yelled after them.
"Thank you, Natsu! Newbie!'
XxX
"Hey, Lucy," Natsu and Happy called.
Lucy shrieked, kicking natsu in the head along with slapping Happy, sending both of them out of her bathroom, as she had recently bought a house with her newfound money.
"What was that for Lucy," Happy asked, groaning as the cat stood.
Lucy threw a white towel around her body, frowning as she did so. "FOR BREAKING INTO MY HOUSE YOU DAMN IDIOTS!" She said, kicking them.
"We understand Lucy," Natsu said, groaning and rubbing his head.
"I don't think you do," Lucy said, looking at their smiling faces.
"Trust me Lucy, we do," Natsu said, looking as if he was thinking back on something that happened in the past.
Lucy sighed. "Well?"
Natsu smiled at her. "I have something for you," Natsu said, smirking at her.
"What is it," Lucy asked.
Natsu paused, as if thinking about something. He then looked at her seriously. "First I need you to answer one question, and it's important."
Lucy nodded. "Shoot."
"The last mission you helped out with for personal reasons I'm assuming, or because I was the only person you knew. Anyways, if I do this you will be accepting an offer of mine, an offer to join my team."
"Team," Lucy asked.
Natsu nodded. "Sometimes, when jobs are too difficult, or because you simply want to, or other reasons, wizards will team up to make teams. They give the team a name and all that, but that's not important. What's important is the fact these wizards always do missions together. My question is, do you want to join my team?"
Lucy thought about it. She could definitely see the benefits, being able to take higher paying jobs with a little extra help. Plus, Natsu was a pretty powerful wizard; at least compared to the other wizards she had seen. He could be invaluable to a team, plus with his ability to eat fire, that negated the threat of any mage that used fire-based magic attacks. However, that did mean that she would have to split her paycheck with someone, which did suck slightly. However, the higher paying missions basically negated the point. There was only one clear choice.
"Sure. What's our team name," Lucy asked.
"Team 7," Happy said.
Lucy looked at Happy curiously. "That's a wei-"
Natsu quickly slammed his hand over her mouth. "Don't say that," he hissed. "If they hear you say that, I'll be punished for it."
Lucy looked at him strangely but nodded, so Natsu let go of her mouth.
"Whose they," she asked.
"The creators of the team," Natsu said.
"Creators? We're not the only people on it?"
"No. Gray is on it too, as is Erza, although she did have to fight Naruto to join. She lost pretty badly that day. It was also the day master decided to let Naruto and Sasuke try for the S-class trials that year."
Lucy paid attention to that name, Naruto.
"Naruto?" she mimicked. "As in 'Teleporting Spiral' Naruto Uzumaki?"
"The very same. Him and 'Crimson Thunder,' Sasuke Uchiha are the founders of our team. They're both S-class, easily the two strongest in our guild besides master and him although some people wonder who the winner would be between those two after Naruto and he first fought. After the S-class trials when he came away severely limping, bleeding slightly from his back, with multiple bruises, and had both of his arms broken while Naruto was unconscious on his back made everyone wonder what happened, even master."
Lucy looked at Natsu strangely. "I think you're missing the point here," she mumbled.
Natsu clicked his tongue. "Right. Well Gray's already in on it, he's actually waiting outside just in case you accept, but do you want to join our team?"
Lucy nodded. "One question though."
Natsu tilted his head to the left. "What?"
"Where is Naruto and Sasuke, shouldn't they be hear as they basically own the team?"
Natsu smiled. "They would be, but they went on a mission with Erza, another S-class mage, the strongest female in Fairy Tail and a member of our team. They were going to invite Gray and I along, but I went to check out the hints for Igneel, and Gray just didn't feel like coming."
Lucy blanched. It seemed like a pretty loosely connected team, at least in Gray's department.
"Gray did have to fight them to stay though. He lost, badly."
Lucy sweat dropped. "Can we get ready now?"
Natsu smiled. "Sure. HEY ASSHOLE GET IN HERE!"
Gray walked in, growling at Natsu. "Care to say that again?"
"You heard me."
"Not in my house idiots," Lucy screeched.
Both boys nodded quickly, afraid of feminine rage. They had come face-to-face with it multiple times after all.
"So, you gonna tell her what the mission is about," Happy asked.
Gray nodded and held up a mission poster. "Look, the objective of the mission is to get a book. The pay is 200,000 jewels, not bad considering we'll have to split it three ways only, since Erza, Naruto, and Sasuke aren't here. Now, we're getting this book for a guy named Kaby, stealing it actually, as it is owned by Duke Everlue, a fairly powerful business man in the world. However, we have something on him; he wants a blonde maid to hire. You just happen to be blonde and you're fairly pretty so we could use you."
Lucy glared at them. So basically they only invited her onto the team because she was blonde and slightly attractive. Jerks.
"Fine, let's just go."
XxX
"THE HELL IS THAT!?" Lucy screeched as she looked at the maid outfit that was in Natsu's hands.
"Well, we need you to play your part."
Lucy growled. "I shouldn't have accepted your damn invitation."
Happy smiled, while Gray just smirked. After Lucy changed into the outfit she sighed. "Let's get this over with."
The three then walked through the doors in front of them, seeing a man sitting on one of the two couches in the room. As they sat down on the couch, or in Happy's case on Natsu's head, the man smiled. The man was named Kaby Melon.
Kaby was a relatively tall and aged man with peach skin, gray hair and a distinctive, small mustache above his lip which had a darker gray color than his hair. He always kept his eyes closed. He wore a tattered green suit with a red tie.
"Hello, I am Kaby Melon."
"Natsu Dragneel."
"Lucy Heartifilla."
"Happy Dragneel."
"Gray Fullbuster. We're Fairy Tail wizards."
Kaby nodded, although he looked at Happy strangely. He was wondering of course how a cat could talk, and more importantly how it was related to Natsu.
"I assume you have been informed of the mission and the pay raise."
"The mission yes. We are supposed to get a book called Daybreak, and then bring it to you so you may dispose of it. However, what pay raise," Gray asked.
"The price rose from 200,000 jewels to, 2,000,000 jewels."
Lucy, Gray, Natsu, and Happy all looked shocked. That amount of money, it was, it was ridiculous. No one would pay that much just to have a book destroyed. That was exactly what made Lucy suspicious.
"Why the pay raise," she asked.
"I simply can't allow the book to exist."
Lucy was about to protest, however being dragged out the room by Natsu and Gray with Happy cheering behind them didn't allow her to.
XxX
They arrived in front of the house, smiling. Natsu, Gray, and Happy all hid in the bushes while they looked at Lucy.
"Good luck."
Lucy just sighed.
She walked up to the house and rang the doorbell. The door opened, showing Lucy the most horrendous sight she had ever seen. It was an extremely tall and overweight woman with a brutish face and two pony tails.
"Who are you," the woman asked.
"Lucy Heartifilla. I'm looking for a job opening."
The maid frowned. "Follow me."
"She's in," Natsu said.
The trio followed Lucy in stealthily, being careful where to go, and to not get caught before looking at Lucy as she walked inside a room.
"Who might you be," asked a voice behind them.
Natsu and Gray didn't even look behind them before activating spells.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" Natsu whispered, one of the duo behind them flying with a white, flaming punch.
"Ice-Make: Trap!"
The floor behind the last of the duo froze before the ice quickly traveled up his body, freezing him in place.
Natsu and Gray did not look behind them to hit the two.
It was then they saw Lucy be kicked from the room an angry expression on her face.
"How the hell am I ugly!?"
Natsu frowned. "Plan B."
Natsu shot from the hiding spot like a rocket, rushing into the room and focusing on the person he assumed was Everlue. Everlue was a short, plump, ugly man with skinny arms and legs. He sported a curled mustache which directly protruded from his nostrils and a bushel of wavy hair that stood proudly atop his round head. He wore a formal black suit, with a jacket that was fastened with a large gold button and adorned with a decorative red flower.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!"
Natsu let loose the white hot flames from his mouth, burning the room before Happy shot next to Natsu, the book Daybreak in hand. Gray immediately slammed his hands on the ground.
"Ice-Make: Rampart!"
A giant wall of ice shot from the ground and through the ceiling, blocking the people einside from escaping. However, golden particles could be seen just before the spell activated and a golden key that fell on the ground. Natsu stood outside, moving his hands in weird directions before the flames eventually cooled and simmered away, revealing a burnt, but not dead Everlue and his maids, along with some guards.
Gray melted the ice barrier, smirking at Natsu. The job was over quickly.
'Amazing,' Lucy thought. 'Although these two act like they hate each other their teamwork was flawless. They must have spent hours upon hours perfecting it, making sure it worked properly. Amazing.'
However, Lucy noticed the golden key on the ground and looked at it.
"A Celestial Zodiac Key. And it looks like the contract was broken with it, judging from the fact it hasn't returned to its owner's holster. I think I'll take this with me."
Lucy picked up the key as Gray called out, "Come on Lucy, let's go."
The trio walked out from the building, their job being completed in the record time of five minutes. It was a wonder what training could do, however, even their training wouldn't help them face the upcoming danger, the second was coming, and with it, it brought hellfire.
Guys I'm going to need, LOTS of OCs if you want an upcoming arc to be interesting, plus, vote on my poll.
