Same Day

The Darkness was feeling sick.

That Winchester kept sending her so many souls. She was weary of it. When would Raphael stop destroying creation?

She felt something stirring in the deep, in the places of her dominion that she didn't like to think about. He was awake down there. She knew he was awake. The "Other" one as she called him. He was the only one who was awake.

She wasn't sure when he came back to waking because there was no real concept of time in this place. In her mind, the point was moot. He was awake. Why oh why was he awake?

It was nails on a chalkboard when a buzzing stirred, something like electricty, in the depth, in those places she didn't like to think about. The recesses of the deep were stirring. Somewhere he was awake. He should not be awake.

"Kid! Really!"

The Darkness turned all of her thought there. Every time he stirred, the twitch, the buzz of life, she felt sick.

She had to get rid of him. She had to get rid of him.

The Darkness stirred with all her might to cast him out of her realm.

Sam came to life.

He woke first with a gasp. In a place of bright, glaring white.

He could see! He could hear!

The buzzing, the life force...He had no body, he had no shape...He could see, he could hear the sparks of his life force calling out to him from all corners, pulling back together, piece by piece.

She had helped him, the Darkness. She had gathered his cells from the Universe.

But what had kept them alive?
