Chapter 13: Flashes from a worst memory
Severus Snape thought about the bullying it had been going through. The maurauders, that is how his bullies called themselves and their choice of bullying different every day. Today he had chosen a special tree behind the dark lake, somewhere they wouldn't find him. And if they would find him, they wouldn't do anything bad. He was not going to use any of the spells he invented, but if he needed tooo, he might.
Oh dear, what had he become. Scared for bullies chasing him through the school and scared fro what he might to do them. Je was a good person, Lily always told him he was. He was kind, sweet, cute and all of that in a non-boyfriend material. Not that it was really clear who needed to be your siegnefigent other when growing up, so it must be assumed that Lily didn't know either of her romances or anything the future would send to them.
For a moment on a april's eve; Lily decided to spent some time with her other friends. Who never stopped taking down Snape for his creepy nature.
'It's not a crime to be creepy', Lily used to reply, before she turned away and made alll the girls feel like losers for not being smart enough to get Severus Snape.
"He's special." Leyla said as she climbed up the high tree. "He sees people and he would do anything for you, that's special right there."
"Yeah, but I figured I needed someting differenent to snog." Lily siad with a mild blush. "I mean there's James Potter..."
"You mean screw and get screwed." Leyla rolled her eyes. "You know how I will warm you about their relationships, they're not bad boys. They are just still children and they're not ready for the long fluffy romantic connection. Get it?"
'Actually no." Lily turned away. 'Are you talking about real babies? Since I am in no way ready for these crying loud milk eating monsters. I know someday there adoreble nature will come and make us go crazy with maternity. Yet now you need someone to have fun with, some like James Potter."
"Or Severus Snape?" Leyla pulled herself higher. "I mean he's a nice guy, what more do you need? A racketship?'
So there she stayed high up in the tree with a good book, the thing she did most of the time. Staring at people she would never talk too and today it seemed a strange day. It seemed that the Maurauders, that's how James Potter called his group, had set their eyes on Severus Snape once again. Not that it was the very first time, it was actually over 40 times. Yet she didn't try to get in the way too much, she didn't think she could win of a man like James Potter and if she did, trouble would be in front of her. And if there was one thing she hated most, it was trouble.
"Snivilius!" It was that horrible nickname they gave him. Something she didn't like either, she had one of those. At least in her early days, people used to call her Gonaegengall. Why they called her that, she had no idea. The only stopped calling her that when she went out with Sirius and started to be decent loooking.
They called a spell, that made his body bangeling right in the air. She hadn't even understand the spell, just seen what it did. So she sat up there, trying to find her own countor curse.
"Drop him James!" It was Lily's voice. Her wand was pointed towards James body and she was not ready to get go. So James simple did.
"You should be happy, Snivilius." James laughed. "If Evens hadn't been here, things might not have been that easy."
"Well, I ..." he paused. "I don't need help from a filthy little mudblood like her."
"I will remember that in the fuguture."' Lily said as she turned around. And than silence fell around them, Snape pushed his face in to the book he was reading and Leyla tried to do the same. What did she need to say? She could have done something too, she was a guilty member too.
"Are you okay down there?" Leyla moved her eyes to Snape's.
"Why are you even up there?" He reached his hand towards the tree and slowly he climbled up. "I mean..."
"I ignore confrontations, that makes me think I blackmailed the sortinghead to put me in to Gryffindor, instead of Ravenclaw. My mother would have a fit."
"Your mother?" Snape pulled himself on the branch and look at the young girl in front of him. She had long blond hair, crystal blue eyes and a heart shaped face.
''My name is Leyviena Therasa McGonagall, but people also call me Leyla. But to Gryffindor I go by Sirius's girlfriend. I know, right.' She said as she shook his hand.
"Severus Sape." He said simple out of information.
"Lily will forgive you." Leyle smiled. "She always does, she has a good heart. One time I copied an answer from a potion quiz, she never told.'
"This is not like copying the answer of a potion quiz." Snape looked down. "I called her..."
"And you desserve to be forgiven." Leyla smiled. "I know when people desserve to be forgiven and you my friend do, I mean you are a nice person. And you are kind of sweet..."
"How do you know..." He paused as he moved his hand under her chin. "That I'm a good person. How do you know?
"'Because I've never seen such a beautiful mind.'
Potion class was early on friday morning for Slytherin and Gryffindor. Mostly they stopped working in groups, yet the gryffindors still liked to work together. Leyla was diffferent, she had moved away from Lily and chosen the spot next to Severus. For just a moment she grabbed her boook with notes on potions she had never usen before. She stared at them, she would make poeple fall in love. Not that she needed that, there was a boy in love with her. His name was Sirius Black and he didn't pay any attention to her. Yet hurting him was something she waould never care about. Influncing pain on others was not something Leyle like to do for herself. So slowly she opened her book.
"That's not that..." Snape smiled.
"So you get to have your own manual, seems that I get to pick up that right too, Sevie."
It was a nickname that had escapes faster than she expected. In fact if she wouldn't have said it, he would have been looking for someting.
"Okay, leypey."
There was no reaction to the nickname whatsoever. If she would react, she would acknowdladge the flirty nature between them and she didn't need that right now. So she simple. So they were making a very difficult spell, one that had not been succeed by any student. Snape hoped he would be the first one to get it and as the race started, he noticed that Leyla was working on two spells. One that he recornized from far and the other that seemed more complecated. Which made him believe that there was no way he would win. Hours passed and as the spell ended, it was announced both of them would win the liqued luck.
"How did you do that?' Snape stared at her. "You...
"With a little help from a friend..." Leyla gave her most enchanting laugh as she hang towards him and pulled him in her arms. She softly placed the second bottle of liquid luck in whis pocket. "I needed a hug..."
With those words Leyla left his presence wondering why she would do this for him and if he stood a chance by her. Would Leyla dump Sirius for him?
