Chapter 15: A kiss in potion class
It had been a vacation between the fight Snape had with Lily and the kiss he shared with Leyla. So right now he was staring at what was going on right now. He couldn't forget the way her lips felt on his, yet he couldn't understand why she never searched for other contact. Was it Lily keeping them apart? Was someone trying to keep them apart? He kept seeing her with Sirius, but she didn't look alive. She looked like a young woman that had committed to a wrong relationship.
So with the sixth year, he decided to let her go. He cared for her enough to move on, to leave her be happy. If she needed him, he would be there for her. And as he made this decision, she walked in to his potion class. She sat down a couple of places away from him. Sirius was not there, so he could talk to Leyla without getting in to trouble with her boyfriend. So there he went. Yet he was stopped by some classmates from Slytherin sitting between them.
"Has she spoken to you?" It was Lily's voice. "Severus, I know that we've been at a war path, but I'm worried about Leyla. Sirius has been really mean to her."
"I haven't spoken ill about our friendship." Snape replied. "And I have not chosen war path. I do worry about Leyla, what do you think is going on between them?"
"An unhealthy relationship." Lily stared to him. "I saw you two kiss and I know she likes you. So I need to know, if she were to make moves towards you, promise me she will stay unhurt."
"I will never intentional hurt her."
"Leyla's better than me, she's better then you." Lily stared away. "She has no problem seeing past someone's exterior and see who they are. She's taken a liking on you, she needs someone to make herself better. For some reason she loves you."
"We're not in love." Snape stared to Lily. "Okay, I am in love. Okay?"
"Severus, don't let this end in flames." She stared at him. "If she gets hurt, she'll leave behind a black hole that is too hard to fill. You have to watch every step you make, she's that good. She's everyone's true love."
"Even yours?"
"If I weren't in to James?" She smiled. "Then yes."
"So you say she's meant to be with me." Snape smiled. "How do you know?"
"Because she keeps talking well about you. I have never heard anyone say that much good about you, Severus Snape and that includes your mother." Lily laughed. "So we're okay?"
"We're friends." Snape shook her head. "Are you already fighting the name Harry?"
"Harry is not a bad name." Lily laughed. "I would prefer Ronald. Yet Harry would suit fine, Leyla loves the name Hermione. She's made me swear not to steal the name."
"Hermione, he?" HE smiled. "Sounds like a smart girl."
With that they went back to the potion class. They needed to make a rather difficult potion called living drought. It was almost directly clear that there were only two people who were in competition for the price. Snape, Leyla and maybe even Lily, but it seemed that she had given up, mostly because her charm went in James Potters direction. And only after 20 minutes the potions.
"Leyla, I assumed you wouldn't be able to go for this dark magic." He took the bottle liquid luck and gave it to her. Then he turned to Snape. "Leyla gets it, because her evolution in potions has been bigger than yours. You could do it with your eyes closes, plus I feel Little Leyla needs some of the luck.
It was fast, they left the class. Snape and Leyla were standing next to each other. She had no feeling on her face, she just had her eyes pointed to Snape's face.
"It's been a while." She said giving him a soft kiss on his cheek. "I know that me kissing you wasn't nice, I just needed something and I…"
"If you need something, you…" He paused. "And that something is me."
"It's not that my relationship with Sirius is going bad." She stared to her feet. "But it's going bad, he doesn't understand me. Whenever I say something he nods. Like when I said I was going to kiss you and make you feel great. So I ended up doing it and he doesn't say anything. He knows I do what I say. Is it so difficult to need someone to care?"
"I care." HE smiled.
"Oh, here you go." She handed him the small vile. "You were the one that got the idea to stir in the other direction, I just followed the directions in your head. I always get excited about hearing you think."
"What?"
"I like the things you wrote in your book." She slowly hang closer again and kissed him. She was unsure of Sirius was anywhere close. She just let her feelings take over for once.
"Romeo…" James laughed. "Leyla. What a turn off from Sirius? Are you in an experimentation face?"
"I'm not experimenting with anything." She replied. "Sirius and I have been over for a while. I do have the right to see other people and specially to kiss other people. Don't you agree?"
"Should I agree?" James turned to Snape. "I could just take it out on Snivilius."
"And I could just take your balls out." Leyla smiled as she moved her arms in front of her chess. She stared at him for just one moment. "So if you hurt Snape, I will make sure Harry Pottter never gets born."
