My next crossover. This one is very different from my other ones so far. Features a crap ton of fluff and then disturbing parts that I've made the story rated M for. Some aspects of the story were heavily inspired by the manga/anime "Made In Abyss" (which fans know is quite disturrbing sometimes).

Heavy emotional scarring for multiple characters due to some of the events. This does have romance in it between two male characters, so if you don't like that, then you can either read around it if possible, or skip over it. I actually had Midoriya have a crush on someone before I took that part out due to learning about the shipping feuds in the MHA community lol.

Luffy is only OOC by being a lot more adorable and compassionate than cannon. And insecure sometimes, but mostly cute. I used the same model and creature from my other story, "A Strange New Little Brother". Some very strong characters, because that's super fun! Oh, and Law is nicer, too. So beware of that OOC as well. Starts out with little Luffy and then gets older. Anyways, enjoy~

(May or may not reply to comments on this, I don't know yet.)

Ace gently touched Luffy's tiny, sharp fingered hand with the glove in the box that was to help keep him alive. He was premature and still so tiny and weak. Sabo was on the other side, both of them whispering "hello"s to their baby brother. Their words were much nicer and kinder than their father's. They didn't think anything was wrong with Luffy, he just had a very strange quirk.

The twins didn't know what was wrong. Since he'd seen Luffy, he'd been angry and… disappointed. Ace looked to Sabo, mirroring his worried look. They understood why he would be upset a bit, but didn't really understand why he would be. Lots of people have quirks that change their appearances and body shapes. The family had friends who were pink, looked like animals, had extra features, extra fingers. It wasn't that weird.

And Luffy was his baby. It shouldn't matter to him especially. Mom was much more understanding and loving with her preemie baby, even if they couldn't touch him or hold him yet. "Mommy, why is daddy not liking Luffy?" Sabo asked in worry.

The three of them were in a hospital room connected to the NICU, waiting for Luffy to be able to be held. He looked so soft and fuzzy and warm with his furry limbs. She looked uncomfortable. "Daddy is upset with the mix of Luffy's features," Makino said carefully. They both looked confused. What was wrong with him? He had tan skin and big, black, floppy fox-like ears that hung on either side of his head and four arms that were furry from the elbow down, as well as fluffy back legs. He also had a tail.

"But he's so cute. I don't understand," Ace said. Makino smiled and said she thought Luffy's was adorable as well. A beautiful, unique baby boy. "Is daddy gonna be like this when we get home, too? I thought he was happy we were gonna have another brother." Both older brothers were scared. Scared Luffy wouldn't be shown love from Roger.

Luffy had barely made it at all, he should be overjoyed that Luffy was able to live and that he had a third son. There was nothing wrong with Luffy's appearance. At least, to his big brothers. Apparently, it was wrong to some people, and poor Luffy could do nothing about that. Ace and Sabo didn't care. He was their new baby brother.

"Baby, why is there paint all over your arms?" Makino asked Luffy, the four year old's fur matted in cream colored paint. It was all over his hands, caked into his fur. There was also a mess of it on the wood floor where he was playing. He had taken his hands and squirted the acrylic paint and smeared it over his arm fur, over his clawed fingers. He had only just started on his legs when mommy saw what he was doing. Attempting to cover himself in paint everywhere. To hide what everybody didn't seem to like.

Luffy was having his mommy clean it off and out of the fur patiently in the bathroom. "I thought if I was covered up, then people would like me," Luffy said honestly, closing his eyes as the washcloth wiped over them with the paint that dripped off of his head. The paint was coming off, not having dried yet. He'd still need a bath to get it out of everywhere thoroughly. Makino froze but then continued.

"Why do you think that?" she asked quietly, trying to keep her voice steady. "We like you very much just yourself." Luffy frowned, knowing that was different. Ace and Sabo and mommy liked him, but nobody else did. Not even daddy. He knew something was wrong with him. Something about how he looked. That was why he had no friends, Ace and Sabo's friends not liking him.

Even now, at Ace's party, everyone ignored him. Nobody wanted to be around him. They didn't want to play with him when he asked. They left him alone, all alone in the corner to play by himself. He loved his mommy and brothers, but they weren't there with him all the time. They were the only people who cared.

"No, not everyone else acts like that," Luffy said, looking down. "Everyone ignored me and leave me all by myself. Nobody plays with me. So I thought if I covered up people would like me. I… don't think I do anything bad. I don't remember being bad." His hands were wiped, and now his fur was getting back to the black that it naturally was.

Makino ran her clean fingers through her youngest child's hair. "You're not bad. You've never done anything bad, baby. You're the sweetest little boy." Luffy didn't think she understood what he was saying. He wanted to clarify, and thought of how to word his sentence for a minute before responding.

"I know you and Ace and Sabo like me, just not daddy or Ace and Sabo's friends. What's wrong with me? Am I ugly?" he asked, wanting an answer, touching his ears self-consciously. Wanting to know what he did wrong so he could change it. So he could fix himself somehow and have people love him. Maybe daddy would smile at him if he fixed himself. "How do I fix myself?"

Makino had tears in her eyes and hugged him close. "You're not ugly and you don't need to change for anybody. Just be yourself." Mommy really didn't understand what he meant. He wasn't mad, just frustrated he didn't have a good answer. Himself wasn't good enough, he knew that! Why didn't mommy know?

"Then why doesn't daddy love me?" he asked, eyes wide with confusion and worry. Worry that he wasn't fixable. If he changed now, maybe things would get better. Makino froze again, and swallowed. She had no answer. Luffy needed one. But he wasn't getting one.

Makino didn't assure him that daddy loved him. He knew he didn't. He always smiled with Ace and Sabo, but he never looked at Luffy happily. Ever. He didn't remember him ever being nice to him or holding him. For his whole life, the man ignored him. He must have done something wrong, look wrong. Or else why would he be the only one who got no love?

Ace came up, and picked Luffy up. "Wanna come play a game with us? Sabo and everyone want to start playing Monopoly," Ace said. Luffy looked uncertain and hesitant, but then he nodded, leaving mommy sitting in the bathroom, hands shaking with tears down her cheeks.

Luffy tried to play the game, but felt left out. Ace was the one to talk to him, Sabo was the one to smile. The youngest watched everyone else, studying them closely to see why they didn't like him. He wasn't doing anything wrong now. He was sure of that. Luffy had a deep pout, just wanting an answer! How could he fix himself?! Was it his extra arms? The ears? Maybe the tail? The sharp fingers?

But he couldn't get rid of any of those! What would he do...?

He failed at the game, but surely that wasn't the reason he got those looks. His lower lip trembled when he said something but was ignored. His middle arms scratched his belly in nervousness and awkwardness. Wherever he felt awkward or uncomfortable, his middle arms would move about. Then he said he had to go to the bathroom, but instead went to his room and laid down under the covers, crying in confusion and hurt.

What was wrong with him? How could he make things better? Apologies always worked! Maybe he could go apologize to daddy and make things better. He wiped his eyes and runny nose and then hurried out of the room to the study where daddy was working. Maybe he'd come back another time...

No, he had to fix things now. He had to try at least. Luffy walked around the desk and patted Roger's leg. He looked down at Luffy. "I'm sorry. I won't do it again," Luffy said sincerely, even if he didn't know what he was apologizing for. He didn't know Makino was listening from the door, out of sight.

"What did you do?" Roger asked, not looking at him, only back at his work.

"I don't know, but I'm sorry," Luffy insisted, trying his best to make things right. He wanted daddy to smile at him, too. Love him like he loved everybody else. Roger sighed and looked irritated. Luffy shrunk back, clasping his hands, waiting for the smile. The forgiveness.

He said, "I don't have time for this. I'm working. Go play with your brothers." Luffy's lower lip wobbled, and he asked what he did wrong. "Luffy, I told you I'm too busy for this." He nodded and ran out of the room and to his own, closing the door loudly.

He put on long sleeved shirt, long pants, and gloves. Now, maybe, someone would like him.

A week later, daddy wasn't at home anymore. Makino said he was going on a long trip, but Ace and Sabo seemed too angry for that. "When is he coming back?" Luffy asked. He didn't know if he cared if daddy came back. He… was mean. Even when Luffy apologized, he still was mean. Mommy said apologies were important, and forgiveness was even more.

So why wasn't he forgiven? "It'll be a long trip, so I'm not sure. For now, he won't be here for awhile." She sounded very sad, but also angry. Ace picked up his smaller brother, holding him close. He said they all loved him.

For once, Luffy smiled brightly. "You forgive me?" When Sabo said he'd done nothing to apologize for, Luffy frowned, so confused. Why… why wouldn't anybody tell him? Did they think he was wrong, too, and just didn't want to be mean? He was left confused, and didn't ask again. Luffy didn't want to be a bother. He'd be a good boy and then maybe things would change.

The day before kindergarten came and Luffy stood in front of the long mirror. His ears couldn't be covered by a hat, his fingers poked through gloves normally, so he had little, tiny stoppers at the tips. He poked at his ears, wishing they'd go away. He didn't hate his four arms, but did wish they were normal. They were helpful for things. All of him besides his chest and face were covered in thick and soft black fur. He was fuzzy, he shouldn't be scary. Lots of people dress up in fuzzy animal costumes!

He blinked widely, hoping he'd make friends. He was scared, though. Part of him didn't want to go. Luffy didn't want to be rejected. Other little boys didn't look like he did. He'd never seen someone else with his mix of characteristics. A tail was not so weird, nothing bad. But his claws hands and totally different feet… what had feet like his? And he looked like he could pass as an animal, but there were no animals with six legs…

Luffy put his hat on anyways, wearing the next day's outfit, the shirt was backwards, but he didn't notice. He had to wear pants, and they looked wide and stuid, but he couldn't go out in public only furry. If he was able, he'd hide his extra arms. Extra to others, but just his second arms to him. Well, he'd be better the next day after that night's bath and brushing his fur nice and smooth. Sabo came looking for Luffy and grinned.

"You excited to make friends?" Sabo look uneasy, even if his voice was happy. Luffy nodded, but confessed he was scared nobody would want to be his friend. "You have to be hopeful. Expecting the worst won't be a good way to look at life, right?" Luffy nodded, but didn't smile. There was once, he thought, when he smiled all the time.

He attempted a smile, and Sabo pinched his cheek. "So cute," he said. Luffy pushed his hand away, but had a real smile now. When the two of them went to the living room, Luffy now in his pajamas so his chosen school outfit could get washed and smell good, mommy was already making dinner.

Ace was on the couch, reading a book. Luffy climbed onto the couch and asked what Ace was doing. "Reading a dumb book," he said simply.

Makino said, "It's not dumb. Everyone has to read that book, Ace. And it's your own fault you waited until the last week of summer to do your required readings." Sabo laughed at him, having read his book list weeks ago. Ace sat up and threw a pillow at his brother, who laughed. "Luffy, take cover!" Ace said. They dropped down behind the side of the couch and had a pillow war with Sabo. Luffy giggled, even when he was nailed in the face and got a bloody nose Luffy started crying at his hurt, bloody nose, and everyone freaked out.

Makino hurried over, having turned the stove off, and checked his nose. It wasn't broken, thank goodness. Luffy wiped his nose, but Sabo was there with a towel. He apologized so much to his little brother, looking and sounding so guilty.

"I-It doesn't hurt anymore," he assured him. The pillow fight was definitely over.

Sabo apologized one more time, and gave Luffy an eskimo kiss. "I forgive you, it was an accident." Sabo grinned and ruffled his hair, playing with his ears, tickling them. Luffy swatted them away, but the stoppers didn't hurt him. They watched cartoons on the couch and when dinner came, they sat around the table. Nobody still sat where daddy used to.

He still hadn't come home. But Luffy didn't ask about him anymore. He was glad nobody at home glared at him. But was it wrong to be glad daddy was gone? He never voiced that thought, not wanting to seem mean or heartless. After dinner, Luffy took a bubble bath, Makino reading him a story while he organized his ducks by color.

The boy was excited but scared. Makino made sure he knew to tell the teacher if someone says something mean. Luffy didn't like that, feeling like somebody would say something mean. But, he didn't think about that too hard. He really wanted to make friends. And his brother was right, Luffy shouldn't expect bad things to happen. It was just hard not to be nervous.

When they arrived there, Luffy was wearing his gloves that made his fingers look fine, even if they weren't. He couldn't hide his arms, of course. When he entered the classroom holding Makino's hand warily at the school Ace and Sabo had gone to, he was terrified, not knowing what to expect.

He'd never had friends, so how do you make them? He'd never gone to daycare or preschool. He didn't know why, but he couldn't ask about it now. He was kissed on the forehead by mommy, who told him she'd see him at lunch time, and would bring his favorite lunch. Luffy nodded. Four hours was a long time to be separated, though.

But he was strong! He could do it… right? He put his backpack in his assigned cubby and sat at the carpet. He didn't know what to do. Nobody was looking at him too weirdly, only staring but not in mean ways. He didn't know if they were not liking his appearance or what. He flattened his ears down in self-consciousness.

A boy with short green hair walked over and asked him if those were his arms and tail. Luffy nodded. Of course they were his. "Can you climb stuff?" he asked with an interested look. Luffy hadn't thought about that. He had claws, but he'd never even climbed a tree. And how did he know this, did he know Luffy's fingers were claws?

"No. I never thought about it," Luffy replied, his hands fisting in his shorts. The boy sat down and said he looked awesome. Luffy smiled shyly and thanked him. "Um, what's your quirk?"

The green haired boy hurried to a table that had toys all around it. He grinned and told Luffy to watch. He put his hand in the middle of the toys and suddenly everything moved a few inches away. "It's not good yet, but my dad says it's magnetizm. I can send stuff flying away. Not good yet, but I'll be awesome!"

Luffy grinned, liking his energy. "I'm Luffy."

"Zoro. I've seen some people with ears or tails, but all of you looks so cool. Is all of you furry and just your face not?" He shook his head and lifted his shirt to show that part looked human. He didn't have shoes since there were no shoes that would go with the size and shape his feet were but socks with rubber bottoms. He's slip on ones without it. "You look so cool!" Zoro said again. Luffy beamed and clasped hands. "Wanna be friends?"

"Yeah! I've never had a friend before. I might not be good at it," Luffy replied honestly. Zoro grinned and said they'd be bad friends together, since he hadn't had friends ever, either. Luffy beamed, so glad he had his first friend. It happened so fast! He and Zoro went back to the carpet and sat down next to each other when the teacher called them.

"Hello, boys and girls. My name is Miss Conis. I'm sure we'll all get along well. Why don't we introduce ourselves? And an interesting thing about yourself," Miss Conis said. They went around the circle. There were 21 kids. Luffy knew he wouldn't be able to remember them anytime soon.

Many of the kids introduced themselves and their quirks. Everyone really liked theirs. They were all so positive. Even the quirks that weren't very strong or useful, everyone was excited to learn them. When Luffy's turn came, he said his name was Luffy and his favorite animal was a giraffe.

After that, not the rest of the kids said their quirks. They said their favorite game or animal or their pet. Then they had play time, where Luffy made another friend. Well, two other friends. A boy with darker green hair than Zoro walked over to play with the dinosaur toys with them.

He was shy and small. Luffy handed him the long necked dinosaur and asked if he wanted to play. His name was Midoriya Izuku. Some of the kids liked being called by their first names while others did their last. The freckled boy smiled and nodded. They played wit the dinosaurs, making noises and having them fight or play together.

But Luffy heard what sounded like a mean voice. A yellow haired boy, Sanji, was sitting at the play dough table by himself. He heard someone laughing at him. Luffy frowned, watching Sanji's deep frown and pinched eyebrows. He looked so sad. Luffy recognized that face from the mirror so many times, and stood up and walked over to ask if he wanted to play with them. Luffy gave the mean kids a small frown, disapproval on his face at their rudeness.

Sanji nodded, and put the playdough away before hurrying over. Now there were four of them playing. Zoro said, "Those ones seem kind of mean. Did you steal their food or something?" The blonde one quietly said they were his step brothers. They were always mean.

Luffy said, "That's not nice at all. People shouldn't be mean to one another." Midoriya nodded enthusiastically. Zoro said he didn't have siblings, so he wouldn't know. "But my brothers aren't like that. They're really nice and say they love me." It couldn't be a brother thing, or Luffy's brothers would be mean, too.

Sanji said they were just mean because they said Sanji's quirk wasn't cool. Zoro asked what his quirk was. "My legs can turn really hard. My mom says I can be really strong with kicks some day. I think they like theirs more cause they're flashier." The three boys were looking over, sneering at Sanji and his group.

Zoro stuck his tongue out at them, and Luffy gasped, barely hiding a giggle. Sanji's eyes widened. "My dad says bullies aren't nice and you should always ignore them or stand up for somebody else. Cause if I had a mean bully, I'd want somebody for me, too."

Midoriya nodded in agreement. He hadn't said a thing, seemed shy and meek. He reminded Luffy of himself whenever daddy had been at home. The three boys looked shocked and angry that Zoro stuck his tongue out at them. He turned back to their dinosaurs.

The four of them played together until Miss Conis said it was learning time, and they talked about the alphabet, and why it was so important to know. Luffy was excited to learn his ABCs so he could read books that mommy read to him, or the big ones that his brothers read. The really thick ones looked scary. Like the dictionary. It was so thick! Too many pages.

Sabo had assured him that you didn't need to read books that long, but the books he had in his own room were pretty big, too. The three boys, Sanji's brothers… Luffy didn't like them already. They had mean smiles. Luffy had never seen smiles like that before.

But, he made friends that day, and he was really happy about that!

When mommy came to get him, he told her all about Zoro and Sanji. And the mean boys, but he didn't say anything to them. "And Zoro stuck his tongue out at them! I was so surprised!" Makino smiled at his adorableness. He still had his gloves on, hiding his sharp, black fingers. "And nobody looked at me in a mean way, too!" he said enthusiastically as he ate his lunchable in the booster seat as mommy drove them some place for a surprise.

They went to get ice cream! "This is to celebrate making your first day of school!" she said as she unclipped him from his car seat and walked with him inside, holding hands. When he went home, he started drawing immediately on his big pad of paper.

After Ace and Sabo came home, they crashed on the couch and took a nap. Must have been a tiring day of school. It was their first day of junior high. That sounded so scary and big! When they woke up, Luffy told them about his new friends, and they were overjoyed for him. It was a great first day of school for him, and they couldn be happier.

Luffy couldn't help but think they wouldn't like him if they saw his claws. His dangerous part, mommy said. He had to be very careful touching other people. It made him sad, but as long as he had the stoppers on, hopefully it would go okay. So he'd keep them hidden at all times. No body would see them and get scared. He didn't want his friends to dislike him when they just met. No way!

It was a month later that Luffy started to feel weird. He was… itchy. Always itchy. He was constantly itching his skin. Makino took him to the quirk doctor, both of them worried, even though the mother was trying to hide it. To Dr. Ito, the doctor the family had used since Sabo and Ace were four and got their quirks. Ace's fire quirk and Sabo's chameleon one.

"There's nothing wrong with him, don't worry. He's a canine type quirk in my opinion. The claws and sharper molars. A canine, meaning he has some animal traits. They show up around this age, and are completely normal. The fur might get fluffier and longer, and it can get uncomfortable and itchy as they grow.

"Do you sleep on your back most of the time?" Ace nodded. "Why don't you try sleeping on your stomach? Your stomach has the least amount of fur to be itchy on."

Luffy didn't really like this. He didn't want to be even fluffier! And he liked sleeping how he did. But he didn't want to be itchy and cut himself on accident. Even his own claws could sometimes hurt him. "Do I have to?" he asked Makino, looking up at her.

"I won't force you, but maybe it would feel better. Might as well try, right?" She turned back to Dr. Ito and asked if there was anything else.

"Your hearing and sight might get better as you get older. But they should be easy to get used to. If things are too loud, put on some mufflers." Luffy thought that would be cool! But he didn't say so out loud.

But Luffy still looked excited. He looked to Makino, who was smiling down at him and rubbed through his hair, running her thumbs over his ears in a comforting way. It felt nice. She'd never thought he looked weird, but maybe now he was a fox or something that just had extra arms!

Luffy was so excited. For once, he liked his quirk. "Hey, Dr. Ito, can I change my fingers into fingers? Then I'd at least have normal something!" Makino bit her bottom lip. The doctor put her hand on Luffy's head.

"There is no way to remove them without getting rid of your fingers, to that's a no. So you'll just have to get used to them. There's nothing to be ashamed of, many people have claws. Some only have them, not as fingers. That must be very frustrating," she said, kindly shooting down his excited question. He nodded, a frown on.

Nobody knew about his claws yet. His gloves had been nearly pulled off by Ichiji, but when Luffy started crying about it, he was put in time out. He stuffed them with some playdough wrapped around them to make them look more normal. And then it was harder for them to be pulled off at all!

Sanji's brothers were really mean. And there was a mean boy in the other class that always was rude and hurtful to Midoriya. Luffy had learned he didn't have a quirk, and he had cried about everyone finding out.

Bakugo hated Luffy, now. He had called Midoriya a mean name, and so Luffy pouted angrily at him, and said, "That wasn't nice at all," in an angry voice. Bakugo got upset, shouting at him that he didn't care. "That just makes you a mean boy!"

They'd both been put in time out for arguing. But Luffy was okay with that because he defended his friend. He was closer to Zoro and Sanji, but Midoriya was still his friend, too.

Ace and Sabo were relieved with the appointment. There wasn't something terribly wrong with their baby brother. His fur would just be more uncomfortable for awhile. Maybe it would get so long he needed to be groomed, but that wouldn't be embarrassing if it was necessary. It was just good it was fur and not excess skin or scales or anything.

Makino walked to him and put her hand on his shoulders, staring right into his eyes. He hoped he didn't say something wrong. Even though his family loved him and he had friends, he still had the mentality that something was wrong with him. He was just good at covering it up.

He thought it could be his dangerous claws, but deep down, he couldn't see that as why his daddy and others before had disliked him. But he'd still hide his claws to not scare anybody. He didn't want to lose his friends, though Zoro would probably think it was really cool.

"Luffy, I need you to promise me you won't run away if you hear or see or smell new things. You can't wander off, okay? You have to stay with us when we go places."

"No way! I'll be a good boy. Going away would be scary," he said sincerely. Makino kissed his forehead, and said he was a very good boy. Very good and smart and cool. Ace said he was the coolest out of all of them. Luffy blushed and looked down, his tail swaying back and forth in happiness.

"I'm so proud of you, baby," mommy said and Luffy hugged her tightly. He touched his soft fur, and still had a worried look on. He promised her he wouldn't run away. And that she didn't have to worry. "Some day, maybe you can meet another mutant. There are many out there, I'm sure there is somebody similar to you."

"I'm a black fox! I gots tail and ears and fluffiness!" he exclaimed. "Like on the book cover at the book store. But I'm a good boy." Sabo grinned and said he was more a fennec fox with those large ears. "Okay, I guess that's right," Luffy said with a giggle. "I wanna try and make a new bed to sleep on so I'm not itchy maybe!"

He ran to the closet hall and pulled out blankets and ran to his bed, making a circle of blankets and pillows on his bed. It was a joke at first, but he found that he slept a lot deeper in the nest on his stomach and not laying on his mattress like normal. Having himself raised off the bed just a little bit from strategic placement of pillows helped him not be itchy at night.

When Monday came, he was excited to tell Zoro and Sanji about his doctor's visit. "Wow! It's good you're not a useless mutant. You can do cool stuff with your arms and all. And you'll get to have better senses." Sanji asked in awe during recess when they were taking timed turns on the swings. Luffy nodded. "I wish I could have a different quirk."

"I had to make a pillow and blanket nest so I wasn't so itchy. But the doctor said I can't change other things." He swung back and forth on the swing. "But I don't like that it's itchy and doesn't feel good. But it'll get better, I bet."

"That's not much of a bad trade to have super senses. And we've seen you run super fast when you're not just walking on your back legs, though," Zoro said, hanging upside down on the jungle gym from his legs.

"Zoro-kun, what did we say?" Miss Connis asked. He pouted and got down. "Good. We have to be safe, right?" Zoro nodded, kicking his toe into the gravel. It was Sanji's turn next. Luffy didn't notice the other three brothers glaring at him. Zoro chuckled and pointed out their big pouts. "They're jealous you have multiple traits that help."

Luffy looked surprised. "Really?"

"Because more things is awesome! Not just one thing you get bored with. Maybe you can be super strong, too. You can train your arms so they're a bunch of strong hits! Over and over and over, punch!" Zoro exclaimed. "Nobody else can do that in here."

He was grinning wickedly at the other three. Sanji's turn was next, and he had a small smile, trying to hide it even though he clearly liked that Zoro was getting to his cruel brothers. "Besides, nobody else's quirk can get good so fast. Most have to take years of work."

Luffy made sure he knew that he'd work really hard on it. He didn't want to look like he wasn't even trying. Zoro said he knew it would take work, but that he'd also progress really quickly. "I hope. Then I can be cool sooner."

Midoriya was grinning for him. "Your quirk is so cool, Luffy," he said. Luffy heard Bakugo's explosion go off from somewhere and him get scolded. And a time out. He wasn't allowed to use his quirk. Nobody was allowed to use their quirks at recess. Especially the dangerous ones. Nobody knew about Luffy's main weapon. It could be dangerous just on accident. Zoro talked about punching, it would be more like slashing. They didn't know so they didn't worry.

They were there the whole time and they just didn't know. Luffy wondered what daddy would think of all of this, of him having friends, of his quirk getting cooler. But that thought didn't last long. He didn't care what daddy thought anymore. He went on a job trip and took so long to get back, even though Luffy didn't miss him. But he left mommy for so long.

Luffy hoped he wasn't hurt, even if he didn't miss him.

Midoriya distracted Luffy from his thoughts with, "Hey, Luffy, do you want to be a hero?" Luffy knew Midoriya loved All Might. Luffy wasn't really interested in heroes. Besides the mutant animal types he knew of now, now. A lot were pro heroes, like Gang Orca, and the seal guy, and some others. Well, there was another one mutant he thought was the coolest animal type. Phoenix Marco. He was far north, away from where they lived.

He was so pretty. Luffy wished he could glow, too. He was under Luffy's favorite pro hero because he was Ace's. Whitebeard. Ace wanted to meet him, thinking he was the coolest hero ever. Luffy liked talking to him about the man. Listening to Ace talk about him. Luffy shrugged. He didn't think he'd ever be confident enough to be a public figure.

"I don't know yet," he settled with. "You want to be a hero, right?" Luffy asked, playing on the slide. Midoriya nodded.

"When I learn to write better, I'm gonna make books! All about strong heroes so I can be one when I get bigger. I'll be super smart by then and I'll go to UA!" Zoro whistled and Sanji said he had lofty dreams. Luffy body started itching so he scratched them. He couldn't wait for them to not be uncomfortable anymore.

"Hah? Deku, a hero?" Bakugo asked from the time out corner.

"Oi, you, shut it," Zoro called. He got time out then. Luffy giggled at it and had his turn on the swing again.
