Woah...already at chapter 40. And we have a long time to go to. And I haven't even been on this site for a single year! I don't know if that's impressive to you guys, but it is to me. Because I finally have more time to actually start working on longer chapters at least by the end of today. Meaning more content and detailed description in chapters, aren't you happy! I also apologize for the more than a month long wait. I didn't even realize that.
Note that with the classes I gave myself for my next year of school I'm gonna be so fucking busy, so be prepared for that. MOVING ON.
hieveryonemynameismax: What's a tb host?
Hello65u: I wouldn't say that because my chapters are not as long I don't put in the same amount of effort. My stories - if you haven't noticed by now - are designed to make sure that fans pay more attention to what is going on in the chapter - such as the key points in it - rather than being exceedingly long. More so, that's really just based of me honestly. When I think I have a good point to end a chapter I end it, although that's likely going to change as I have finally completed mapping out how many chapters will take up an arc. So my chapters should be getting longer. This should be the last really short one on this story.
Dark Fash: How have I underestimated them? Dude, they don't use chakra anymore, and I've already explained their proficiency with their magic, while high, isn't even where Natsu's is in the current manga - although I guess I should put before timeskip Natsu as after timeskip Natsu is freaking OP. My Natsu is not at that level yet, AND HIS FLAMES TEMPERATURE ARE SUPPOSEDLY HOTTER. How does God Slayer Magic pale exactly? More so, yes Naruto never gives up, however I have established how strong Gildarts is in my story, and without revealing Kurama to everyone at the time - which he did not want to do - he stood no chance of beating Gildarts. At the time. Because he wasn't exceedingly good at magic. Sasuke and Naruto as of the chapter you are on are 16.
Fatality Mass: Thank you.
Guest: I answered this the last time. When I get done typing out a chapter I have not started yet. And yes, yes I do.
MEleeSmasher: It's actually around the same length as my other chapters. It's events just take place closer together, giving it the illusion of being a shorter chapter. It's the same with this one.
One Step Closer
Natsu silently walked forwards on the island. From what he had heard from the villagers there was some sort of curse on the island. He honestly was not paying attention. He didn't care about anything in the village. He was naturally a caring person however he didn't care any longer.
He just wanted something to pound, and he was eager to do so. As long as the mission involved fighting he would take it.
Lucy glanced at Natsu, a frown on her face. He was upset, furious even. After the entire guild was destroyed by only two Bijuu, including Naruto and Sasuke, he had been training ten times more than usual. Lucy herself had been training, but not to that extent, yet it truly did open her eyes. She was weak, and despite how much she idolized everyone in the guild, they were nothing compared to the strength of a Bijuu. She admitted it to herself, but would deny it to anyone else, but she knew it.
She was afraid, afraid of the Bijuu.
Gray frowned as his left arm twitched. He cursed. 'I'm still injured. Damn it! Natsu should be able to handle this on his own though, despite it being an S-class Mission. He's high A-class, borderline S-class level. He doesn't need me…I'm just a limitation.'
(-Flashback-)
However, Natsu had no time to attack again as Shukaku shot forwards, several tendrils of sand exploding from his back and forcing him to retreat. A tendril came down, clearly intended to smash Natsu to a bloody pulp, however it froze midair.
"Nice one Gray!"
Gray smirked, jumping from the tendril.
"Ice-Make: Lance!"
An ice blue magic formula appeared in front of Gray before several lances made of ice shot from it. These lances closed in on Shukaku yet the bijuu was prepared, raising his arms he shot sand from them, forming two small dragons.
"Sand Dragons!" he roared. The twin dragons shot forth and shredded the lances, before both of them lashing out with their tails. Gray cursed as the sandy constructs slammed him into the ground, blood flying from his mouth. The dragons opened their mouths and tornadoes of sand burst forth, both of them combining to form a larger one that kicked up a large cloud of sand.
"Fire Dragons Roar!"
The tornado of fire impacted with the cloud of sand, turning it to glass. The glass quickly shattered, revealing a bloody and bruised Gray laying on the ground, defeated.
(-Flashback-)
'Yes…a limitation. I could do nothing to stop that woman. I could do nothing to stop the Bijuu. As of now…I'm weaker than Natsu. I can't accept that!'
Gray stopped walking, breaking off towards the forest nearby to go and train. Lucy looked ready to stop him, but Natsu held her back. He shook his head, looking at Gray with understanding. He silently nodded before he continued walking towards the temple, the only place they hadn't searched on the island so far. It was the only place to search as there was no way they possessed the capability to destroy the moon.
Natsu entered the temple, frowning to himself as he sighed. After searching for several minutes he put his head down. "There's nothing here Lucy. Let's get going."
Lucy sighed, nodding. "Does this mean we're gonna have to blow up the moon?" Natsu nodded. "We may just have to find a way to do the impossible here Lucy."

Erza sighed as she arrived in Hargeon, a frown on her face as she looked towards the docks. "It seems I can't even trust Gray…what is the guild becoming…"
Erza sighed, walking towards the docks, a depressed look on her face. She couldn't help it. She had slipped into a state of depression. With Naruto and Sasuke down for the count, Mirajane gone, and the guild in shambles she was truly wondering how much more she could take. Yet she put up a good front. The guild needed an icon right now, and that icon was her.
Erza nodded to herself, her resolve slowly coming back to her, even if it was only to help others gain their resolve.
"I need to be strong."

Laxus smirked as he flexed his arm, leaning against a rock. He smirked as black lightning flickered around it, his eyes widening with a perverse glee.
"I see," he heard, turning. Makarov was standing against another rock, a frown on his face. "So Ivan modified you into a Dragonslayer huh. You better not tell Natsu…he'd charge the Magic Council for information on Igneel."
Laxus snorted to himself, focusing on the small specks of yellow and black lightning flickering around his form. Makarov coughed though, gaining his attention once again, although he looked sufficiently annoyed.
"You stole that," Makarov mumbled. "You stole Sasuke's lightning…but you shouldn't have been able to. How did you do it?"
Laxus smirked. "I feel it," he said. "I'm assuming Sasuke thought I was a first generation Dragonslayer, but I can tell the difference. My magic comes from a fake….a lacrima. I have to use Dragonforce to use it, yet Natsu doesn't. Natsu's is pure. When I went Dragonforce in that fight I was shrouded by godly lightning, so no one saw, except you. You should know. As the lacrima began to weaken and refill itself using the magic container possessed by the Magic Council, I managed to siphon off a portion of Sasuke's power, to eat it. I did this by emptying the container briefly, which then recharged with Lightning God Slayer Magic. However as the new stream of Magic came from the container the black lightning was snuffed outwards. It then shifted, fusing with my magic container and making it a part of my magic. It is forever engraved in me. I'd imagine that only those with Dragonslayer lacrima are capable of fusing Demon Slayer Magic and God Slayer Magic. Pure ones would be incapable of completely fusing it, however they may be capable of eating it."
Makarov frowned. "So what you're saying is…"
Laxus smirked, his eyes glowing with power. "I can use black, godly, lightning whenever I wish." The blonde haired young man then turned to Makarov, his magic radiating off him in waves, creating the aura of a foggy dragon surrounded by black lightning. "I am the ultimate being old man. Don't you ever forget that."
Makarov was silent although he knew what he wanted to say. 'Naruto and Gildarts would still kick your ass.'
Laxus then looked as if he remembered something. "Oh yeah, Freed sent me something a little while ago. He was notifying me of some recent missions that had been taken by rather famous wizards, to see if I could recruit them. I think I'll go visit this one. He may help me replace someone who will end up dying if they fight."
Makarov frowned. "Who would that be?"
Laxus smirked. "'The Fire Knight.'"
Makarov paled.
Laxus then walked off, his magic cracking the ground. Makarov was silent, fear coursing through his body. He needed to move…Natsu being who he was…he could die.

Natsu hid behind a podium as he heard people talking. Lucy who sat in front of him was also silent, although she was looking at Natsu as if he had grown two heads. After all, he was being silent. Lucy frowned though.
'Now that I think about it Natsu has changed. His mannerisms ever since the incident. He's been more reserved, but he's definitely been growing more powerful…I think. I can't tell. The way he carries his body makes him much harder to read that he usually is.'
Natsu was silent, looking at the three people who walked along the halls. 'They're not from this island. The villagers said everyone who was on the island was with them. That must mean they are the cause of the curse, or tourists. Then again that's highly unlikely. I'll tail them…and once I find out why they're here I'll act. Until then…I need to be silent.'
One was a lean-built, mildly muscular young man of average height with distinctive animal features: he had a pair of canine ears sitting on his head, a small dark nose and a lower face which was colored differently from the rest of his body, bearing resemblance to a canine muzzle. He had shoulder-length, straight brown hair, large round eyes with black pupils and dark eyebrows. Both of his biceps were adorned by tattoos: the right one bears the kana, while the other was adorned by a single, more elaborated one. He was bare-chested. He wore an extremely loose pair of pants with mildly torn hems, held up by a long belt covered in many rhombs, with the part left out from its plain rectangular buckle hanging down. Such pants bore a large, dark shield-shaped logo emblazoned on the right knee: which depicted a stylized skull, bearing ears similar to Toby's own ones, with a pair of bones crossed below it, a tibias. Toby had a red collar covered in hollow studs circling his neck, and donned a pair of simple dark shoes, each adorned by a light, stylized footprint, similar to that of a small dog.
The other male was a short, slim young man distinguished by his extremely brushy, squared black eyebrows. His eyes, too, were black, while his hair, arranged in a number of spikes pointing upwards was, unusually, bright blue. He sported a green coat reaching down to his knees, sporting black sections in correspondence to the sleeves' outer part and on the sides' lower parts, below the plain dark belt with a rectangular buckle which, together with the two vertically striped, overlapping hems placed on the front kept the garment closed. His pants were dark and loose, while his plain shoes were light-colored.
The lone female of the group had blue eyes, pink hair, large breasts, and a curvaceous body. She wore make-up to match her appearance. She had her hair tied in pigtails, her choker tied into a ribbon, a purple and pink short spaghetti dress with light pink trimmings, black leggings, and high-heeled sandals. Her dress appeared to have two long and thin wings at the back.
The dog like male frowned. "It smells in here," he said. The blue haired male rolled his eyes. "It always smells to you. Saying it smells means nothing. Besides the Reitei needs us to open up the sealed hole for Deliora."
The dog-human frowned, his body tensing. "It smells like…dragon…and…perfume?"
The girl rolled her eyes. "You're not funny. If you're going to make a joke do it in the name of love." The dog-human rolled his eyes, but pointed towards the floor. "Are we breaking this open or what?"
The other male nodded. "Yes, we will, calm down Toby. I will do it right now." The girl sighed. "Be quick Yuka. I need to show my love to Reitei-sama," she said, as if she was truly in love, nearly swooning.
Or she was obsessed.
Yuka snorted, blue magic energy swarming around him. "I guess I do have to thank Mito. She truly gave us much more power than I ever imagined we would possess." Yuka smirked, pointing a finger at the floor. "I have more than just Wave at my disposal know. Let me demonstrate to both of you the power I was gifted with when she gave me that scroll. Full Panorama Bomb!"
Yuka flung his arms downwards, as small spheres of clear magic energy slammed into the ground. Small clocks appeared above them, counting down. Yuka smirked, walking away. "You two better run, those explosions will kill anything in the area."
Toby and the female walked away, leaving the temple. However, Natsu and Lucy cursed. "Lucy, once I blow a hole in the wall I'm gonna create the largest fire I can as a distraction once they come back."
Lucy nodded, grabbing one of her Celestial Spirit Keys. "Just in case we have to fight," she said, looking at Natsu. He nodded, although he had no intention of fighting, at least not with those bombs everywhere.
They also needed to find out who this Reitei was before they started a war.
Natsu turned towards the wall, his cheeks inflating. "Fire Dragon's Roar!"
Hot white flames shot from Natsu's mouth, shooting at the nearby wall and blasting straight through it. The explosion shook the temple, however Natsu failed to account for one thing.
That the explosion would set the bombs off prematurely.
The bombs exploded simultaneously, sending Natsu and Lucy flying through the air, burns on Lucy's body and pain racking through Natsu's. The two landed on the ground harshly, pain vibrating through their entire body. Natsu groaned, slowly standing however he quickly had to duck to avoid a swipe from claws. Natsu pivoted on his foot, acting on instinct and slamming a fist of white fire into Toby's gut, causing third degree burns almost instantly. Toby cried out in pain, the nerve endings hanging on by a thread yet still sending the full force of the pain he received. Natsu cursed, watching him fly upwards before he flipped backwards, avoiding a bomb that exploded immediately.
He raised his head to see Yuka looking at him with interest. "The 'Salamander' of Fairy Tail. Interesting. It seems that the myths were true and you can increase the temperature of your flames, and in turn change their color. This may be interesting."
Natsu cursed, not wanting to get into a fight so early, but now he had no need to hold back. White flames coated his body in droves, licking his skin violently. "Before I beat you do me a favor," he began. "Tell me…do you have anything to do with what the villagers of this island are going through?"
Yuka smirked, a coat of blue magic radiating off of his body. "How about you force me?"
Natsu cursed, before he shot forwards, Yuka shooting towards him as well.
The female standing behind Yuka sighed, grabbing the unconscious Lucy. "The Reitei may be able to find something useful with you. Good luck, Yuka."
Yuka rolled his eyes. "I don't need luck. Wave Bullet!"
XxX
A man stepped onto the island, sighing. He walked forwards, his eyes scanning every direction.
The man's face was hidden by the pitch black hood that shadowed the top half of his face from view, coupled with the crimson lower face mask that was similar to a certain one-eyed ninja. He wore an open hooded pitch black trench coat that went down to his mid-calf area. Long sleeves were tucked into a pair of white steel gauntlets that started just below the elbow. There was a crimson chest plate under said coat with a sky blue crystal necklace underneath that. Blood red pants illuminated the water thanks to the moon as he walked, the white steel armor on the outside of his thighs and on his shins giving off a ghastly experience as the shone brightly. Black, steel-toed combat boots left markings in the sand as he walked. From the small bit of physical appearance you could guess from his coat he looked to be extremely muscular yet not at the level of a body builder.
The man continued to walk forwards, before he held out his hand, a small ball of fire forming. He smiled at it, although no one was capable of seeing the smile. "I will complete this mission…my little J-Fire."
The man smirked, walking forwards towards the town. "Hello? It's Chuck Barley, member of Merc Brotherhood!" he began as he reached the gate. "Also known as 'The Fire Knight!'"
Chuck Barley was created by an amazing OC creator by the name of BoeJackMan. Anyways, moving on, yes I gave God Slayer Magic to Laxus. I was wondering why Natsu could eat Zancrow's fire with no bonus and then Laxus' lightning and get a power up. I originally placed it on the being a difference in how Dragon Slayer Magic and God Slayer Magic worked, however I liked this idea better as Laxus gets more powerful and it makes sense to me.
Then again I WAS the one who created it.
Now, for those of you wondering what Laxus' connection to the Magic Council is that will be revealed later on. Like a LOT later on. Like nearing the final arcs, so you're just gonna have to be patient, however hints will be dropped all over the place.
And yes, the Galuna Island Arc is JUST now starting. Pretty hilarious for chapter 40 huh? But it's not a long arc, so don't be afraid. Then again, when Mito is involved - even by gifting people with magic you can never be to sure. Things could get pretty hectic on that island.
I also bet some of you are wondering what's up with Midnight and Cobra huh? Well that will be revealed...eventually. Tartarus has some very important plans for them. However, the important thing here is what about the Naruto and Sasuke situation. Some of you have been asking me will the seal be there for a long time, more than the person mentioned above, and yes it will be an exceedingly long time. This is key in them learning how to better control their magic. It is also key in how Sasuke gets the EMS, so be happy.
Also go vote on my poll - which I warn you despite the shit ton of options, is only a PEAK inside of all the stories I have planned out. Literally that's only like what, 18? I have SO MANY MORE planned. Those are just the ones I think you guys would really like if I posted them.
Note they would be posted AFTER any of my mains are done. And just to let you know, UNL won the tournament, which kinda sucks for you guys...sorry.
I sounded like a dick just then huh?
