Some Lawlu fluff in this one! So I have two other crossovers for different series, and don't know which one to edit and post first. One is a crossover with Jujutsu Kaisen and the main characters are Satoru and cute, OP kid Luffy (who suffers a bit, of course) and the other is for Avatar: The Last Airbender and features Ace, Thatch, Marco and Zuko where Ace goes through some shit and then is loved by others and grows happy. Then there's a mystery, because of course I couldn't make him human lol.
Which one would you all like for me to post first? JJK one is shorter than the ATLA one.
Midterms went smoothly. His group of students were in a large room with two walls of windows to let in plenty of light. The windows were open, giving fresh air in. Everyone knew that the dark, damp and stuffy environment was scary. So, for less stress, they were given this room that was shared by class 1-B. Aizawa was supervising them all. Only about eleven kids were in there.
When they got the results, Luffy wasn't surprised he wasn't at the top. But he was in the top 10, just not at the upper part. He was number six. Satisfying to him. He didn't need to be the number one in things like this. He'd absolutely make the best out of the internships for the next week.
The next day, they were to choose their hero names. Luffy had no idea what he wanted to be named. He just had no idea. Something tough wouldn't go with how he appeared, but he didn't want to accentuate his "cuteness", either. Almost everybody else had names made up besides his friends. Midoriya settled with "Deku" which was actually an insult to other people, they wouldn't know the context of the choice.
Sanji ended up with "Black Leg" because he used his legs and his costume had black pants. Zoro, Luffy and Law ended up using their names, at least for the moment. They would need those names for their internships, which were only a handful of days from then. Students were in varying degrees of excitement. And the kidnappees were all in the same boat. They were just as nervous or just as excited as everyone else. For once, the class felt like a whole, everyone on the same page. It was nice. A nice change, for however long it would last.
When the day came of going to their first internship, Luffy was carrying his costume case and backpack. His second hands were carrying his case and a soda, while his front arms were working on his phone. His classmates expressed annoyance that he could do so much at once, and he just laughed about it.
He wasn't running to the Whitebeards, he was taking the train with Law. They were all told to meet up back at 8:00 pm. Rayleigh wished them all good luck with some encouraging words. Law and Luffy were sitting in the train, Luffy's feet barely reaching the floor. People were looking at them, but they did their best to ignore it. "Are you nervous?" Luffy asked. Law shrugged and said he didn't know what to expect. "They're really cool people! My brothers love them, and Thatch likes me and we talk sometimes, texting. We've gone on runs together, since he has a cheetah quirk."
Law said he couldn't run fast. Luffy pointed out he could fly. Flying quirks weren't common, so he could work with Marco. "You can finally use your other form. I haven't used mine in awhile. It's not so light and fast."
The spotted faupta nodded, saying that would probably be all he was helpful with. Luffy said he was plenty helpful, helped get them out. "That was mostly you. I was just your wingman or something." Luffy smiled and said he was a good wingman. Law snorted and looked back at his phone.
"You know, about that killer guy, Stain?" Luffy looked questioning. "He's some vigilante that kills heroes. I guess it makes sense you haven't been paying attention to it either. Nobody had said anything about it probably because of us who were against villains." Luffy partially recognized the name "Stain", but in a way where you see a link on google with the name on it. He hadn't read anything in depth about him.
Luffy asked why he brought him up. "He was last where we're going. Hosu." Luffy was unconcerned. They'd be with pro-heroes, and would not be reckless. When they got to their stop, they excited the train and followed the directions on their phone to the huge agency building. They walked in a bit cautiously.
When Luffy entered, Thatch saw him and went running over. He hugged him and Luffy laughed. "It's so good to see you. You're a real hero now, huh?" he asked. Luffy said he was trying. Then he introduced Law, and Thatch immediately noticed just how similar their quirks were. Luffy said he wasn't one of a kind anymore.
"Yeah, you are," Law said casually, yawning. Then he looked around, and Luffy did, too.
"Luffy!" his brothers' voices shouted. They came running down the stairs from the second story and hugged him tightly in a bear hug. He hugged them back. When they pulled away, their expressions turned sad as Ace gently touched Luffy's torn ear. Luffy mumbled that it didn't hurt that much. Then they glanced at the scar around his arm.
Sabo said, "Well, that's all over. He's gone, thanks to you and your friends." He said it proudly, and Luffy nodded. He said Law was his wingman. "Thank you, then. I'm Sabo, this is Ace. Luffy said he saw another like him but your sizes sure are different."
The smallest said, "We named our own species. It's kind of stupid, I don't know. Just made a random word generator and chose the first one. 'Faupta'. It's just a made up word but it's nice to have one." Sabo smiled and ruffled his hair, still so much taller than Luffy was. He said it wasn't stupid at all.
Marco came over and shooed them away, saying they could socialize on their free time some other time. Ace whined that they never got to see them. "Then how about, on the last day, you all can finish early and have dinner?" he offered, pleasing everybody. Law stayed silent. "I'm Marco. You can just call us all by our first names. That's how it's run. But your hero names are just your first names, too. So it should all work out."
He told them to get dressed and gestured to where the changing room was. So the two went there and changed in their stalls. Both of their outfits were boring except Luffy had the visor/goggles. Both of them had booties on. When they entered the lobby again, Thatch and Marco were both there, geared up. They were going to learn from both?
But then Marco said they were being split up. Law could fly, so they were working on that. "Luffy will be with Thatch, and Law will be with me." Law looked deeply disappointed, but tried to hide it, even though everyone had seen it. "We'll meet back here at 6:00. Tomorrow will be a night patrol. And both of you will stay close to us, okay? We don't want any accidents."
Luffy and Law both nodded and went their separate ways, Luffy shifting and flying off. He was really pretty that way. "I wish I could fly, too," Luffy said. Thatch said his quirk was plenty cool. Being light and fast was more convenient in the immediate problems. Not shifting and having to expose big targets like wings. He could just dash away. Luffy admitted that was true.
They went on patrol together, Thatch much taller than Luffy, like everybody. They both had their senses opened as Thatch explained how to be a hero on the streets. While Luffy listened, he also kept his other senses open. Between talking, Luffy asked if it was safe for heroes to be out on their own right now.
"That's why you have me and Marco." Luffy asked if Ace and Sabo were safe. He nodded, saying Ace was the safest of all of them since he couldn't be cut or stabbed. They knew that Stain worked with knives. Luffy let out a sigh in relief. Then he asked about Sabo. "They're always together, have one anothers' back. And Sabo is smart, we all know that. He wouldn't let himself get in a bad situation.
"The other heroes were unlucky. Like Ingenium." Luffy looked surprised. That was Iida's brother. He asked what happened to him. "He was paralyzed from the waist down, unable to use his quirk anymore." His voice was sad, but Luffy's face crumpled. He didn't know that his friend went through that. He couldn't imagine if Ace or Sabo had to return like that.
But he'd be much happier with them unable to be heroes instead of being dead. Iida's brother could be dead, and that would be much worse. "You okay?" Thatch asked in worry. Luffy nodded, and told him about his friend being the brother or the retired hero. "That's gotta be rough. I feel for him, but I am also glad for him. That his brother is alive. Many have died." Luffy was growing worried about his surroundings. "Don't worry, you're fast enough to get away and get help."
Luffy asked if there was a curfew set. "No, not here. And Stain hasn't just stuck to one place. He could be long gone, but we won't know until the next incident. It's doubtful that he has stopped. But we must stay careful and primed to act. That should be true for all places and all situations, not just this one."
The faupta thought that was very good advice. Then the pro hero said, "You did some pretty good things, Luffy. And I'm not talking about what happened there, and I'm not going to talk about it. But when you attacked Shigaraki, well, that was really good for the country. Agencies were worried about the growth of the League, but with the supposed 'leader;' unable to use his quirk, well it put others off. Why would they work for someone who could not only not use his quirk, but not his arms either?"
Luffy said that there had to be other villain groups doing things. Not just the former League of Villains. "There are always villain groups out there. Just, some are not lethal. It all depends on who is in the group, not the size. You could have an organization with hundreds of villains, but if all or most of them are mediocre, then they're easy to take out.
"But the opposite is true as well. A villain group with four people but all of them are strong, well, that would be more worrisome. You have to think just as much as you act. Doing something reckless can endanger yourself and others. If you get harmed, there are people you could have protected. Thinking straight is something necessary to have as a hero," Thatch explained. Luffy smiled, really liking him.
Nothing really happened, but Luffy smelled some dead animals in an alley way, which wasn't really nice to find. Luffy found the house cat's collar. "Can we bring this to their owner?" he asked, holding the collar. Thatch smiled and said they could definitely do that. The other cat didn't have any collar. Sadly, both of them were not in any shape to be returned to their owners to bury or cremate.
Luffy felt guilty as he put them gently into the nearest dumpster. "We'll bring your memory back to your family," he swore, and closed the dumpster. He had tears in his eyes, wiping them embarrassingly. "It's only a cat and it made me cry." Thatch rubbed his head, and said compassionate heroes are the best kind.
"As long as you don't rely only on your emotions, being upset about the death of someone or something is fine. Your feelings are much less important than your actions," the pro hero said nicely. Luffy smiled and nodded, and brought the collar to the apartment. Thatch offered to do it, but Luffy wanted to. If he wanted to be a hero, he had to be sympathetic and compassionate with somebody about a death of their loved one. Even if it was a pet.
He knocked on the door, and a young woman opened the door. "Miss, I'm sorry, but I'd like to return this to you," Luffy said, handing her the collar. She demanded to know where he found it. "He was gone when we found him. I'm so sorry." She started crying, and fell to her knees. "I'm sorry nobody got to him faster. I wish I could have helped more, but this was the best thing I knew I could do."
His voice was surprisingly stable, and kind. She held the collar to her chest and got ahold of herself. She looked down at him and thanked him, bowing. Lufy gave her a small smile, and left when she closed the door. He could hear more sobbing from the home as he walked away. When he got back to Thatch, he said, "That was really hard," with a sniffle. "How do you do that with people?"
The pro hero said that you, unfortunately, need experience to handle reporting a death properly. "You can learn the best tips, what would be the best way to approach, but it doesn't prepare you for how the person would react. They could react with anger, which you'd need to appease and calm them. They could act with sadness, where they need some degree of comforting while contacting a loved one to come. They could be in denial, which is the worst.
"But, this was good practice. You know how to feels to be in the presence of a grieving person, the one to deliver the news. I doubt any of your fellow students will get any training like this on the first day," Thatch finished. He looked at his watch, and said they should be getting back. Luffy nodded, and they returned back.
His mentor was really nice, and they raced back. Luffy was lighter than Thatch was in cheetah form, but had trouble keeping up. Thatch won, but by a hair. When they got back, Ace hugged him and asked how it went. "It was sad. I brought a dead cat's owner the collar back. We found its body."
Luffy frowned deeply. "It was hard. She was crying and it was hard not to cry, too." Ace frowned, and said it was good practice, easy practice. "I've fought bad guys. But I think I want to not just fight villains. I want to help people feel better and safer. Not feeling safe is really scary…" Sabo heard, too, and said that was how he felt. His quirk wasn't suited for brawling with villains.
The youngest smiled, glad to not be a disappointment to his brothers, seem weak. "Maybe I could be a hero that helps people get out of crashes. I can fit through small spaces and get in and out fast," he said, feeling excitement. Even if he was small, there were things only he could do because of it.
Luffy saw Law sitting on a bench with his costume in the case. He was just smiling lightly while Luffy talked. "You'd fit in very well here, Luffy," Marco said with a smile. "Law, too. You both did well. And after you get your provisional licenses, you're welcome to intern here." Luffy knew about the second internships from Ace and Sabo. The freckled brother had been accepted to the Whitebeards and was able to convince the blonde to go, too.
It would be awesome to work with both of his brothers. They were really happy here, too. He wanted to work with them. He got changed and then Sabo walked them to the train station to go home.
Law told Luffy on the way back that he'd only learned how to fly safely. How to carry others with the added weight. He also was told basically everything Luffy was told. Then his face fell, "I'm sorry about the cat. It must have been hard." Luffy nodded, and bit his lip. He confessed they'd put them both in a dumpster. "There was no other option. You couldn't exactly bury him in the middle of the city."
He knew that was true but still, it felt like he wasn't treating it as a living being, just trash. If he'd had a fire quirk, he could have burned it. Luffy felt it was stupid to get so worked up over a stranger's cat. "Well, they said it was good practice, right?" Luffy nodded. Law put his left first arm around his smaller shoulders. "I'm tired. I wish we could go get food. Sanji's a great cook, and all. But some unhealthy food would be nice."
"Not McDonalds. Anywhere else. They had a finger in one of their meals. Like, a chopped off finger," Luffy said. Law said they wouldn't go to McDonalds, but pointed out that incident probably happened in another country. "It's still McDonalds."
"I guess we have to hold the whole chain accountable." Luffy laughed and nodded.

When the students were all together and eating, they shared what had happened to their internships. Luffy paid the most attention to his friends. Zoro and Sanji strongly disliked Endeavor's attitude, and commented that Todoroki was a bratty son, though the guy deserved it with how he treated him.
Midoriya said he mostly cleaned the guy's house before he improved at all. When Luffy talked about the dead cat, how he handled it and how it made him feel about what he wanted to do as a hero, Bellamy mocked him. Luffy turned to him and said, "You won't make a good hero, Bellamy," in a very serious and straightforward voice.
They were all silent at the complete dis. Bellamy stood up threateningly. Luffy didn't flinch, he'd faced someone much worse than this guy. Instead of him, Law stood up with Zoro and Sanji. Luffy said nothing and he stormed out. "Dang, that was harsh, Luffy," Midoriya said. Luffy asked if he disagreed with him.
Nobody said anything. "I think Bakugo can become a hero, but not Bellamy. He's the rotten kind of guy, not just a jerk." He said this quieter, so only his friends could hear.
After dinner, everyone took showers or bathed and went to bed. Luffy had a bad dream. Again, it was of pitch black darkness, burning feet, screaming first years. He jerked awake and sat up, taking a deep breath before trying again. It happened again. The faupta stood up and left his room with a blanket.
He knocked on Law's door quietly, and was let in. He saw Law had laid out a sleeping bag. Luffy smiled a watery smile. "Nightmare again?" he asked sleepily. Luffy nodded. "You can come in if you have a nightmare. You don't have to knock." Luffy smiled and thanked him before getting into the sleeping bag, falling asleep and staying asleep.
Law woke him up, and told him he should get dressed and out before anybody sees. Luffy nodded and hugged him before leaving. Law was kind of in shock about that, but Luffy was gone before he could react. He got dressed in regular clothes, not his uniform, and got his backpack and case.
Rayleigh waited for them out front, escorting them to the train station. It wasn't too far, but they took a bus regardless. When they went their separate ways, Luffy and Law sat in the same seats they did the day before. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable with the hug. I couldn't help it, you were so nice."
"It didn't bother me, just surprised me a bit," Law said. "I hope we can patrol together today." Luffy said he hoped he was with Thatch again, that he was such a nice person. "You met him when you were little, right?" He'd told them the story and why he was going to the Whitebeards for sure.
Luffy nodded and said, "It was one of my first runs around the park when I was six. He complemented me on my fast reflexes. He would come visit me and we'd go on runs since nobody could keep up with me, only him. It was really fun, I like him. And I'm happy Ace and Sabo are happy there. Maybe I can work there, too! I can be a hero with my brothers." He smiled the whole time.
The other said it would be a very nice position. Being the kind of hero he wanted to be while seeing his brothers and nice people. Luffy nodded, and when they both got to the agency, they dressed quickly and met Thatch in the lobby. "Yo! Day two time. We'll go on the night patrol later, but we're going to be helping with little things. Small jobs that will help you both be recognized by every day people and do what the little heroes do. Should be fun," Thatch said positively. Luffy put his visor on and nodded.
Thatch had his phone hooked to his belt. Luffy didn't have his on because he didn't want to break it, and he was with Thatch today. He was sure Law had his, though. They responded to little jobs. They were mostly in the more residential areas.
Helped with a broken down car, found a couple lost children, Luffy caught a balloon floating away and returned it to a little girl. They found a lost dog, and Luffy and Law worked to get a cat down from a large and tall tree. Thatch mostly supervised all of this. Luffy was the much more charismatic of the two, smiling and making people feel comfortable. Law was a bit awkward, but didn't glare or make any negative impression. He made pretty much no real impression personality wise.
Unsurprisingly, people were skeptical that he was a hero, even though he had a hero's costume on. He proved to them he was a help and not a child by his actions. He was small, he'd stay small like this, he'd keep his big ears. There was nothing to do, so he would become know as a nice hero before he was seen as a strong one.
When evening started, Thatch took them to a hotdog stand. They hadn't had hotdogs or anything grilled in a long time. So they ate happily, and then went on their night patrol. All of their senses were armed, since Thatch had animal senses as well. He was one of the only transformation quirk users that could morph into a complete animal body while looking normal in regular form. He was also original in his hairdo, so there was that, too.
There were calls in for a villain destroying a building in another district, so they had to run until Luffy smelled something. A rancid, putrid smell different than any sort of trash or even dead animals. It was also with the smell of blood. He saw Law plugging his nose.
"Thatch, there's a really bad smell and blood coming from that way," Luffy said. "Like, bad bad. Not gross, but more like the smell of A-All F- Ah!" he said holding his arm. "Okay, like the bad guy!" Luffy said in anger at his stupid problem, still. Thatch nodded, and the three went to follow the scent. Luffy climbed up a wall and followed them by the roof to see what there was from above. He looked down and saw the source of the smell with a random hero bleeding on the ground.
Law shouted Thatch's name and they stopped at the entrance of the alleyway. Luffy said nothing, staying silent and still. He wanted to help the guy being pinned, who was not moving but seemed awake. Luffy didn't know what the hero killer looked like, but he sure smelled evil. Looked scary, too, though. He looked to be missing a nose, which was kind of creepy on its own.
His outfit was covered in spikes and he had a lot of sharp weapons on him. He trusted Thatch and Law to get his attention. "Heroes huh? The fake kind." Luffy crept along the edge of the roof, trying to get at a good angle. Thatch called the agency and any back up, giving their location before a knife was thrown at him.
Thatch easily dodged, but was looking worried. Stain stepped forward, and the moment he was four feet away from the injured hero, Luffy sprang down and grabbed the injured man with his middle arm and dashed away, dragging him along the ground with him. He ran him to safety, and asked if he was alright. Where he was hurt.
"Thank you. I'm not hurt, but don't let him drink your blood, he'll paralyze you," he said, and Luffy dashed back to the scene. He was relieved to see Law and Thatch were both still standing, but Thatch was in cheetah form. Stain had barely moved since he left, but turned around when he saw Luffy on the other side.
Luffy was waiting for the size insult but he just glared at him. "I'll have to kill all of you. Even the young ones," Stain said. He released a scary aura, but Luffy stood tall. This was nothing to All for One. He was unafraid. Law was the same. Both didn't react strongly to it, even though Thatch looked uneasy, uncomfortable.
He went running at Luffy first. They were in a very obscured area, so backup might take a few minutes. They had to make it those few minutes. Luffy dodged him with each swipe. Instead, he took his claws out and attacked his arms, right where he got Shigaraki. One arm went limp, and he looked shocked. Luffy stopped to observe what to do next before a knife was thrown at him. He dodged easily, dashing up the wall and onto the roof. It was a distraction as Law ran at him and used his tail to slam into his leg.
Their tails looked fluffy and cute, but they were strong. Luffy didn't use his usually. Thatch attacked, next, but he was injured by a swipe of the boot. Stain somehow managed to lift his foot up to his mouth and licked it. Thatch's eyes widened as he was paralyzed.
"Back up is coming, we gotta get Thatch!"
Law asked about him. "He can be caught by police, we can't let Thatch get hurt. C'mon!" Luffy said. A knife was thrown at him, but he dodged without even see it. Law picked up Thatch and they went running. But Luffy didn't expect to be followed. Wouldn't he have taken the chance to run?
"That way!"
"I know!" Law said as they turned towards where they smelled other strong people. Luffy, after being around various types of people, from good to evil, could tell there was a certain scent from good to bad people. In this direction were good heroes. Thatch was able to move only a couple minutes after being cut.
He jumped up and then looked ashamed. But Stain wasn't too stupid, and disappeared when the fauptas got the heroes' attentions. It wasn't dark out right now, but heroes did go after him, looking for him. He wasn't there. Luffy felt worried, that they made him angry and had not captured him.
Law patted his head and said they'd be fine. There was no way he'd attack them or anything now. Thatch agreed. He never attacked the same people twice, but then again, he didn't really leave people alive when he confronted them. So, Marco met them for added protection and they continued the night patrol.
Neither of them could smell the evil anymore, so they weren't going to attempt and track him down. Luffy doubted the Whitebeards would let them even if they could. Luffy and Law were still students, 15 year olds. They weren't full on heroes that should take on villains at all. This was training, even though both of them had "fought" All for One.
But that time was terrifying. Luffy only made it so far out of adrenaline and his body's urgent need to try and live. And they weren't going to get past him without fighting. If he hadn't been on life support, their attacks would have been useless and they might be dead. And it wasn't like they knew the mask was for keeping him alive when Luffy ripped it apart.
So, despite going through a very serious situation, with a very stressful situation before, they were still kids. The rest of their patrol went easy. They caught a robber, though it was Marco who detained him. They just watched. But when it get really late out, as in before they were going to go to the train station and then home, was when Luffy smelled a clash of a bunch of different, familiar scents.
Luffy asked if Law smelled it. "Smell what?" He sniffed the air, but said he didn't smell anything memorable. "Um, Thatch? Can we go that way? I'm smelling a bunch of my friends all together, except it doesn't smell like just their scents, but also some blood." Marco heard, and picked up Luffy before asking him where the scent was. "That way," he said, pointing in the direction that the wind was bringing it.
Since Law couldn't smell it, Luffy worried if he was causing the Whitebeards an inconvenience. But it wasn't much effort for Marco to fly a couple streets away. Better safe than sorry. When they got to the scent, Luffy saw three of his friends and another hero fighting Stain, the bad guy. The smell of blood was thick in the air.
Marco flew it and tackled Stain to the ground, one of his arms still limp from Luffy's attack. "Luffy!" Midoriya shouted in surprise.
"Are you all okay?" he asked in worry. Iida was laying on the ground with blood, and both Midoriya and Todoroki were dripping in it in some places. Marco dislocated Stains' arms, but the villain turned to try and bite Marco's arm to ingest his blood, but was impossible. He was a phoenix, after all. "This is the end of the line for you," Marco said flatly. He tied him up with rope found in a dumpster and then demanded to know if the kids had been fighting a villain with no permission. And no supervisor was around anywhere near. "You know you'll be in a lot of trouble, right?"
Luffy said, "W-Well, what if they were forced? Like, he attacked them and they had to fight back?" He didn't want to outright defend his friends but he did believe they should be able to fight for themselves.
"Why weren't they with their supervisors?" Marco asked sternly. "You and Law encountered him with Thatch, and you got away. If they had their supervisors, they wouldn't have had to fight. Where were they?" Luffy had nothing left to offer to defend them, now feeling awkward.
Midoriya looked speechless, as did Todoroki where Iida just looked ashamed. Stain did have many wounds, even when he only fought with one arm. Luffy asked if he was in trouble for hurting him, too. "You were with Thatch, and as long as he says you were within your right to do so, they you are fine."
Luffy sighed in relief, but all of his hands were fidgeting. He wanted to distract from this awkward and uncomfortable situation, and said, "Should we take his weapons from him?" Marco said the police were on their way, and he would be detained more then. Luffy didn't like this guy. And not just because of what he did, but he was scary looking, and kept staring at Luffy.
He moved to be out of his view and behind Marco. It was getting later, and Luffy realized that the dark made him uneasy. He felt fine with Thatch and Law, but now he felt very nervous. Like the darkness around him was pressing in. Even with the streetlamps, the dark was pressing closer.
Then Law ran over, panting, asking what had happened, and Luffy felt the darkness no longer pressing on him. "Wh- you okay?" he asked Luffy in worry, quietly. Luffy nodded, saying the dark was scaring him a bit. He said not to tell anybody about it. "I won't," he swore. Then he turned to the others and asked what had happened.
Marco told them they'd most likely be questioned as well in more depth. Luffy said they hadn't broken any rules. "Being questioned by the police doesn't always mean you're in trouble," Marco replied patiently. Luffy sighed in relief. He didn't want to get in trouble and disgrace his brothers. He really didn't remember being questioned much after the first incident.
He asked Law if he'd been questioned. "Yeah. You were a little high on the pain medication, but you answered honestly. Me and the others were all questioned together, so the blanks in our minds were filled in."
"That's how an incident like that should go. Just like these three will no doubt be questioned together," Marco commented. They waited for the police to come, who detained Stain even further. He kept staring at Luffy, and Law discretely moved his hands in front of him. Nobody noticed, not even Luffy.
The three students were taken in one car to the hospital while Luffy, Law and Thatch drove to the police station. They were questioned together. Luffy's attack on his arm was a factor in the fight with the other three, as Stain had already been wounded. Thatch said they did nothing wrong, they even saved a hero literally named after a chocolate bar. "Almond Joy". Luffy couldn't say it was an unfortunate name since he gave it to himself.
After the questioning was over, which was light and mostly a repeat of earlier but with different police, Luffy and Law were brought to the agency and then the train station to go home. When they got there, Luffy wasn't afraid of the dark when he was walking with somebody. He was embarrassed about such a childish fear.
They were on campus when Luffy said, "I think I'm scared of the dark," in shame. Law replied that he was afraid of sharp, sudden lights. Which was why he was sleeping with his curtains open, so he won't turn the light on in the morning and have freak him out.
"I think it's normal to have some sort of fear after that. There are probably a lot of people afraid of the dark, now. You're hiding it well, though." Luffy said he wasn't scared when he was with Law, so he was glad they were being partners right now. Law's face turned bright red and then Luffy looked away.
"I didn't mean to make it awkward, I'm sorry," he said. Law didn't reply, just put his hand on Luffy's head. If it was a stranger, Luffy would find it very patronizing, but when it was his friends or family, it didn't bother him. Law finally said he hadn't made it awkward. He sounded sincere, so Luffy dropped it.
