Next chapter is quite disturbing. Enjoy~

It was 2 AM, and Luffy still wasn't asleep. He was lost in thoughts, of worry and wonder. Worried that something or somebody was still after them and that's why these precautions were still being taken. So, when he desperately wanted to sleep, he went to attempt to get answers, even if it got him in trouble. He just wanted to sleep.

He found the teacher's rooms, and went to Rayleigh's. He had Dazzy go inside to wake him up, and make an arrow to the bedroom door, where Luffy was waiting outside of, a blanket wrapped around him like a little kid since it was so cold not in the sleeping bag. His hair was a mess, his ear fluff ruffled, and he looked so tired.

Rayleigh opened the door and asked Luffy is everything was okay, why he wasn't asleep. "I had to ask something and then hopefully I can sleep," he said. The man sat down next to him, and asked what it was. "Are there villains we don't know about? We're still in the dorms, then here is super maximum security and I didn't hear anything about a fire at the other camp place."

The teacher gave nothing away. "Your worries are justified. There have been small incidents around the country for a bit now. I'll be honest. We have not been formally told why we must continue to be careful and take precautions, but are taking suggestions from the HPSC, which is unusual for UA, but necessary.

"We are not panicked, and so you shouldn't be either. This place is just for maximum security, like you said. But it isn't because of some villain group plotting after our school, it is an over all precaution of all hero schools. We're not the only ones still in dorm situations like other schools. The villains targeted us the most, but the danger is for all students, low though it may be. That's why we're still in the dorms.

"Not because there's a direct danger brewing right under us, but that there have been small incidents that should be looked at more than it is. Better safe than very sorry." He smiled and said, "You don't need to be afraid. If we were very concerned, this trip would not have happened in the first place. If we were very concerned, the provisional license exam would not be happening at all for anybody.

"We know very well how much you all wish to go home, but this is what we must do, and we must endure it," he finished. "I hope that eases your worry. And I hope you get to sleep. But, I'll give you all an extra hour." He said it all with a smile. Luffy smiled back and nodded, heading back to the sleep room feeling lighter. Rayleigh had been completely honest. Luffy had been afraid that they were panicking and the kids didn't know.

That they were in a lot of danger and not being told about it. He went to sleep easily, feeling much better than when he went to bed.

Luffy realized he'd pushed way past his limit the next day, laying on the ground with his arms spread out. He was up on the cliff. He'd thrown up all of the food, but now had a pounding headache and the light hurt. He was miserable, and it had been like this for at least an hour. He heard classmates calling his name for lunch, but he was unable to move.

Law climbed up at the request of Rayleigh. He knew he was a mess, and Law hurried over. "Luffy, oh, what happened?" he asked.

"Too much," he said, his voice scratchy from the dry heaves. Law picked him up easily and took him to the cliff, climbing down with three arms and having one holding Luffy around the stomach.

Rayleigh and his best friends looked concerned. The teacher told him he was to no longer practice his super move while they were there. He must have really looked sick. Law was carrying him in his arms bridal style. Sanji and Zoro were worried, asking what happened. "Did too much," he said. His stomach roared, but he knew he shouldn't eat anything. He just had water and was put to bed.

He saw Uraraka and Aoyama, were in there. Uraraka had a bucket next to her. They were vomit buddies. Ew. He fell asleep and kept hearing Aoyama run to the bathroom. Luffy would much rather take vomiting over stomach issues. When he woke up, he felt much better, but didn't bring out his second quirk at all the rest of the day. He just watched others torturing themselves.

Luffy held in chuckles about Todoroki in his torture bath and Midoriya subtly watching him. Aww. when dinner came, all three of those with unfortunate reactions were able to eat the last meal, and then the binge on s'mores. Luffy noticed the other class looked much more miserable than their students. Poor guys. But the s'mores were enjoyed by everybody in the same group. Bonfires were made to stay warm and roast marshmallows. They had hundreds of bags of the ingredients and so many boxes of crackers to use.

He was glad to leave tomorrow. He wanted to sleep in his bed and not be so cold or around others 24/7. He wanted some privacy where he could just be by himself and think or read in his quiet room. He was so glad that each student had their own bedroom and bathroom at the dorms. A life saver. They slept on the bus again and when they got back, all threw their things in their rooms and went to bed, the last few days' exhaustion finally catching up on them.

School was still out for summer break, yet they could go nowhere. Luckily for them, UA built its own swimming pool, so the classes took turns in reserving the pool for themselves. When it was their turn, Luffy only put his feet in. Law did the same. When asked, they both said they didn't want to get wet and have their fur get heavy and make them look strange.

So, they all just laughed and talked about things. Luffy hadn't said to anyone what Rayleigh told him that night. He didn't want to cause panic, and thought that they'd be told it, too, soon. He was expecting it, but he was surprised it didn't come. So he waited, wondering why he was the only one told. Was he special? Or was it a lie?

He doubted that the man was lying. But he also didn't know why he'd be special. He didn't ask, though. He just waited.

Luffy held up the stuffed doll of himself with a flat expression. Somebody made a stuffed doll out of him. He'd found it online, and he was honestly considering pressing charges. This was humiliating. Nobody got his permission, and he was an underage hero, this wasn't allowed. Doing more digging in the website he'd had the misfortune to find this on, there were also key chains and stickers of a stylized version on himself.

He wanted buy all of it and then burn it. Nothing was made of Law, even though he was fluffy, too. Luffy stood in the mirror with it, looking at the differences. They were little. They both had the wide eyes and cute ears and small nose. Looked like a fluffy child. A little boy. And this stuffed doll made him even cuter by putting stars in his eyes.

After throwing it across the room and pouting on his bed, he hid it in the back of his dresser. He was so embarrassed. He wanted to be a hero, not a stuffed doll. He wanted to help people, not be some marketing superstar.

Nobody said a thing over it, though, when it came out that these things were being made. Because they sold like crazy. Even if he did do something to stop it, there were already so many already bought. It was so embarrassing. He didn't want to be around anybody and stayed in his room.

Luffy couldn't help but keep looking online and seeing them be sold out. Sure, All Might and other heroes had figurines and stuffed toys of all sorts. But they all portrayed him as strong, powerful and cool. This one just made Luffy look like a joke of a hero. If somebody saw this on the shelf, they would never think it was a stong hero. Maybe a children's cartoon of some sort.

He heard Law come into the hall and knock on the door. Luffy didn't want ot see anybody, but maybe needed to. Luffy told him he could come in, and walked to the bed where Luffy was curled up on.

Law took out his phone and showed a receipt. For $2,000, he'd ordered every single plush toy of him available. He was the reason they were sold out. "We can burn them together if you want." Luffy asked where he got all of that money. "Birthday and Christmas money and presents pooled together. This will give you time to make an order to stop anyone from selling your image without your permission," he said with a smile.

Luffy teared up and hugged him, saying it was so embarrassing. "Once you're a big time hero and everyone knows that, you'll probably be made in plushes again, but then everyone will know you're not just an adorable fluffy person, but a hero."

The next day, Luffy filled out forms and petitions to stop the production of the dolls as defamation and against the law of profiting off of underage heroes. So, no more dolls would be legally sold. He was so touched by Law doing that, buying them to give Luffy the chance to have them distributed as little as possible.

When all of the hundreds and hundreds of boxes came, there was a bon fire outside, controlled, of everyone burning the embarrassing toys in the blaze. Luffy held Law's hand as they tossed one box after the other into the fire. After that, Sanji made Luffy's favorite dinner. Everybody understood how he felt, so they wanted to help him feel better.

Not even Bakugo made fun of him. They were all very empathetic, which made him feel much better. None of them had to deal with that problem.

After dinner passed, Luffy was in Law's room, both watching a movie and sitting on Law's big bed, Law's back against the wall and Luffy sitting in his lap against his chest. Law's hands were looped around him, playing with his own hands, his chin on Luffy's shoulder. It felt warm and cozy. The blankets were on them and it was just very relaxing.

When the movie was over, Luffy was falling asleep. So Law carried him to his room and tucked him in. h\He kissed Luffy's forehead, but the smaller was already asleep. But his light came out and made to nudged Law's hand, though the light went right through. It was the gesture that mattered most. It was thanking Law, who nodded and left.

Luffy was surprised to fid himself on the internet again, but not because of a plushy. There were a few heroes that bashed the whole stuffed-doll thing. Nobody in the public knew of his deeds, which he had a feeling for his protection, but the heroes who knew said he'd solved two huge cases, or had at least helped greatly.

Then there was the fact that one of his arms had been cut clean off and he was still a kid. So making him into plushies this early was disrespectful and tactless. He was a hero, he shouldn't be made into cute plushies, and without his permission, too.

He was happy to see people stand up for him. Checking later, it seemed like the website selling them had been taken down and no longer existed. He was so relieved, glad he wasn't humiliated anymore. Sure, lots of people bought the plushies before Law did, but they wouldn't get more now.

He was with his best friends, and not Law, his eyes glowed again. He'd shown them his light form that made him throw up, but they hadn't see the eyes before. He didn't even notice them until he got weird looks from all three. He asked what was wrong, and they said his eyes were glowing. He rubbed them and they went away. "Better now?"

"Yeah. What's with that?" Luffy shrugged, saying it happened sometimes but didn't know why. They didn't act like he was a freak or anything, not that he expected them to in the first place. When they were done joking around and sparring, they went back for food, and Luffy found Law asleep on the couch.

Everybody took advantage of the nice weather, cool but not cold, but Law, it seemed. Luffy sat next to him, and started playing with his hair. The sleeping faupta seemed to visibly relax and melt into the couch even further.

"You guys… really seem to fit together," Midoriya said. "Kind of… cute?" he added hesitantly, maybe not sure if it would offend either faupta.

Luffy just smiled. "In a different way than usual," Luffy replied. Zoro said it was really nice of him to buy all those awful stuffed dolls before anybody else could buy them. The smallest nodded again. He heard Law's breathing change, and could tell he was awake. Nobody else noticed, but Luffy kept playing with his hair.

While he did so, Dazzy came out. It came out sometimes without Luffy asking, but never did anything wrong. When he asked for it to return, it would do it immediately. "The light is like a pet for you," Sanji commented on, eating a piece of pie he and Tsu had made. Luffy nodded, and the light made patterns in the air, looking like sparkling water.

The day before school was to start and then the provision liscense exam that would be a week later, Luffy was in Law's room, watching a stupid reality show that they poked fun at. "I'd never want to be rich," Luffy commented, surprising Law, who asked why. "Because then I might not have real friends," he replied. "Or you, and maybe I'd be pompous or something. But Yaoyorozu is rich and she's perfectly fine, so maybe I'm wrong."

"I'd adore you regardless," Law said casually. Luffy's cheeks went red, and he knelt on the bed and kissed him on the lips.

"I adore you, too," he said with a small smile. Law's face was bright red, but he leaned forward to kiss Luffy again. Luffy then sat back down and leaned against his shoulder, sighing happily. Law was pretty happy, too.

The whole next week of school was in preparation for the license exam. Luffy tried to work with his new quirk, with Dazzy. He still got ill, so it wasn't a very useful quirk for something like a competition. Something that he couldn't sit out on afterwards. He'd be vulnerable in whatever they were doing.

Everyone were desperately preparing, wanting to all pass together. Not wanting to not be on the same page. Because there were some things they couldn't do without the license, possibly leaving somebody behind. Nobody wanted that, but they cared mostly abut their own passing before others'.

Rayleigh helped them all he could, and even gave them information on how it had gone before. Those with older hero siblings or parents could vouch that it changed every year, but still stayed similar. They were surprised to hear there were three tests this time. There were usually only two, but there were three this time.

Luffy assumed it had something to do with the villain situation that really didn't seem fully resolved yet. Maybe a new challenge to get through something. He couldn't see making a mock hell that they'd been in before since that could mentally destroy Hagakure and probably Luffy as well. So Luffy was unsure about what the change would be, but looked forward to it.

Rayleigh told them they were all a bit lucky that the sports festival did not show their skills in a way. If they had, then everyone at the license exam would know how their quirks work, their powers and skill. It was always like that. "But not this year. If one single good thing came from that, it is this."

Luffy didn't really see the tradeoff. Kids dying and possible lifelong trauam vs. not being well known by strangers. Nobody said that, though he could tell that on the expressions of those who were there with them. After school, they'd all go practice together, not knowing if they'd work as a team or solo.

The smallest would work with his friends if they wanted, but he'd still do his best for himself to pass. If not everyone passed, it would be very sad. But maybe he'd pass first and then go help them? He practiced running between things by going on sprints through the wooded ring. Darting between trees that could possibly be people. So he could be fast to do whatever the activity wants, and then get back to his friends.

Everyone was nervous but excited.

Luffy and Law decided they wouldn't kiss in front of anybody; hug and holding hands and hanging off his back was fine, but not kissing. That was too intimate for public and especially at school. Which they never were not at, but the privacy of the dorms or out where nobody else was around was fine.

After a long day of training, Luffy was tired and wanted a nap. Law was on the couch in the common room, reading, when Luffy climbed into his lap and slept with his face against Law's chest, chest to chest. Law just kept reading, not bothered by Luffy being there. Zoro and Sanji didn't say a thing while the girls were looking at it like it was the cutest thing.

Law sent Uraraka a death glare when she pulled out her phone to take a picture.

They were all holding their costumes and backpacks as they boarded the bus to the provisional license exam, and they all sat in the oddly designed bus. With some seats facing forwards, and others facing the sides, across from one another. Many were having headphones on or earbuds in. Luffy clipped the wire of his earbuds to his ear so they hung in the fluff. He could hear it just fine.

Most of them were on their phones, but Luffy could hear Bakugo arguing with some others. Luffy was at the window seat next to Midoriya, looking out at the changing scenery. It was only interesting for a bit before it got busy and they entered the cities. They drove through a couple before arriving at the arena.

It was large, but everything was large in the hero business, it seemed. The school grounds were massive, this place was huge, the camp had a large area they could go to. They got off the bus, and Luffy could see people looking at him.

Somebody actually asked who the brat was. Like he was a little kid. He sighed, looking down. Law put his hand on Luffy's head, telling him to just beat them in the exam. "Then they won't think you're a child," he said, making Luffy smile. It was a good idea. He looked at the kid, memorizing his face to go after him in whatever events they were taking part in.

When they got inside, they all changed into their costumes, and Luffy couldn't see a thing, so he climbed onto the much taller Law's back, looking over his shoulder. Law didn't seem to care, or even make a move he noticed.

The first event was a dodgeball free for all. Luffy had expected this, but was a bit disappointed. His brothers went through this one. The event was easy to beat. Luffy was actually the first one to pass, leaving the class to go off on his own. He'd said he would do that and then come back, so he went back to those needing help.

His four other friends, including Law, passed quickly. They all left once the majority of the class passed. They went into the break room, where the kids who passed the first challenge were. Luffy got a drink of water before all those that passed were inside. All of their class made it! And Luffy had hunted those that called him a child, getting them quickly. It was satisfying.

The man was explaining the next activity, which was stealthy. They had to get prizes around the field of debris. They had to do it without being spotted by one of the sentries with a camera pointed around the area. Luffy knew he'd be perfect at this one, able to create a distraction with his Dazzy while he silently made his way to a prize.

This one sounded more exciting than the last. But then, those in his class who made it to the end of the hell hole felt the same feeling. A pull on their feet, as if they were stuck to the ground. They screamed as the holes opened up, but others than the six who were in the last time in their class fell.

Luffy tried grabbing onto the ledge of the hole, but it closed, and he nearly had his hand chopped off. He fell with the others, screaming.
