"We need you," Bunnyx grabs Hawkmoth's hand and pulls him into her burrow.

"What is this?" he asks, confused. Different timelines are displayed before him and both Ladybug and Bunnyx are here with him.

"I can't spoil much about the future but know it rests in your and Ladybug's hands," Bunnyx says and punishes the two miraculous holders through one of the many portals.

"No," Ladybug gasps as she recognizes the world before her. The pure white can only mean one thing, Chat Blanc.

"What happened?" Hawkmoth asks out loud though he doesn't expect the answer that comes.

"Chat Noir was akumatized," Ladybug explains, "his cataclysm is upgraded and it destroys Paris, and everyone here."

"You sound like you have done this before," Hawkmoth notes.

"I have."

"Then why do you need my help?"

"Because of her," Ladybug points, in the distance, someone vaguely reminiscent of Mayura.

"Go help her," Ladybug insists, "I know it sounds counterintuitive to you, but you don't want a future like this, free her of the akuma."

Hawkmoth nods, he can do this, well, he at least has to try.

"M'lady?" Chat Blanc's voice comes from behind her and Ladybug turns around. Sure enough, the white suit and blue eyes greeted her.

"You're back. I thought it was only me and that bird left," Chat Blanc almost sounds relieved.

"What happened?" Ladybug asks.

"He promised to quit, the second he had the chance he went back on his word. You went back on your word too, you said you would be there for me, where were you?" his voice becomes demanding with the question.

"I-" Ladybug tries to explain, but she doesn't know the answer, she hasn't lived this timeline.

"He loves me, he loves me not," the woman plucked feathers from her fan like one would a flower. With each feather that drops, an area of land falls around her.

"Mayura?" Hawkmoth tries calling out.

She turns around, "you!"

With the anger in her voice, the land restores its original place.

Hawkmoth takes a moment, her blue skin is white, the dress is white, her hair and other accessories are white as well. The only part of her that isn't a blinding white are her eyes which are piercing blue. They are even brighter than Nathalie's.

"This is your fault!" she screams, a wall rises around them, "you promised to give her up!" another wall rises, "you said you loved me!" a third wall grows from the ground, "but you always go back to her!" finally the pair are surrounded.

"I don't know what you are talking about!" Hawkmoth tries to tell her.

"Of course you don't," the akumatized woman rolls her eyes.

Somehow she is able to effortlessly form a sentimonster. No feather, no energy, just something that tries to attack him. He decides to swing his cane and throw the opponent outside the walls.

"I don't understand," Hawkmoth says now, "I wouldn't do this to you!"

"Another lie you told me!" The white peahen charges at the villain now.

"I'm not going to hurt you," he calls out as he dodges her attacks.

"Too late for that."

Hawkmoth doesn't know how he is supposed to help her, he hardly knows who she is, let alone what they had gone through to get to this point.

"He was a maker of fake promises," Chat Blanc explains, "and so are you. I was always honest with you but you couldn't even give me that pleasure."

He comes towards her, reaching for her earrings. This was originally a fear Ladybug worried about when Hawkmoth was suggested as an ally but no, this was worse. She didn't even know where Hawkmoth was at this point.

"I can help you," Ladybug tells him, "you just have to let me."

"Or you could help me?" Chat Blanc suggests as he tries to swipe her earrings again.

Meanwhile, Hawkmoth is still running around trying not to hurt Mayura but he realizes the akuma is most likely in her hand fan.

"Mayura, please, I don't understand," Hawkmoth tries, "can you explain any of this?"

"You and that stupid miraculous," Mayura spits, "even when you said you loved me you never meant it. She was always on your mind."

Another white blob flies at him. He feels more lost than before, he loved Mayura, he loved Nathalie..? Was Bunnyx sure this was the right future?

So then he tries something stupid, something he doubts will work but what does he have left to lose, this running around trying not to hurt her thing wasn't working. She already thinks him to be a liar, does another lie hurt?

"I do love you, May," Hawkmoth tries.

"You have no right to call me that anymore!" she spits trying to attack him again.

"I knew you would be stronger," he tells her, "I knew you hated being sick with your damaged health. The akuma makes you stronger, right? Isn't that what you wanted? That's all I wanted for you to be happy."

The woman dressed in white softens slightly at his words, though she wasn't positive she believed him.

Hawkmoth took this as a signal to keep going. She has to believe him enough to settle down. He keeps rolling with the lie.

"I'm sorry, I should've told you, I know you like to know what is going on," he is a few steps closer and she doesn't seem to be worrying now, "I want what is best for you, I understand if you don't think that's me," another three steps closer, "but you mean the world to me, Mayura, more than she ever did."

There are now only inches separating them and Mayura let's a tear roll down her face. He doesn't reach for the fan, but instead, cups her face gently as she takes what he just said.

"Do you mean it?" she asks.

He ignored the question, "I know how strong you are. Not only as Mayura but as Nathalie, you can fight this. You can fight the akuma," Hawkmoth encourages her.

She drops the fan to the ground as her hands shoot to her head. It starts pounding as she starts fighting. The white changes back to blue, the fan changes back too, meaning the akuma couldn't be there.

"Do you know where the akuma is?" Hawkmoth asks the peahen.

She shakes her head, "I can't remember, it's been so long."

"It's okay, we need to help Ladybug fight Chat Blanc until we know."

"You are helping Ladybug?" Mayura asks, confused.

"Don't you trust me? I need your help," Hawkmoth admits.

"I'm with you all the way to the end," Mayura swears, a phrase which he didn't know had become a devotion of love, "no matter what side you're on."

Even if he doesn't catch on to the direct meaning of the phrase, he does notice a certain softness about the way she makes the promise to him.

"Do you think you can remember?" Hawkmoth tries as he helps her out of the arena that her akumatized self constructed.

"I don't know," she admits, "it was long ago and I can hardly remember and-"

"Shh," Hawkmoth presses a finger gently against her lips now that they are out of the arena, "don't worry yourself. We will find it."

"I love you, Gabe," she tells him.

He pauses, he feels awful lying to her now, "I love you too, Nath."

What was he even getting himself into?

They observe as Ladybug dodges the small cataclysms that Chat Blanc is able to throw her way.

It's reckless to try and fight him, Hawkmoth is sure that the akumatized hero, villain, he isn't sure of the proper title, either way, Chat Blanc probably has something against Hawkmoth too but he wants to get back to his timeline.

"My lucky charm is a rose, I don't know what to do with this," Ladybug complains as he stands beside her.

"He loves you, doesn't he? Help him fight this, that's how I got her back."

"I can't lie to him," Ladybug says as she dodges an attack aimed at the both of them.

"Unless you have a better plan," Hawkmoth yells at her.

He doesn't notice as the white pain of a cataclysm comes his way. Mayura does. Mayura loves him though. Mayura doesn't let him get hurt, she would take the hit for him again and again.

"No, no, Mayura, please," Hawkmoth falls to his knees as Mayura collapses in front of him. He doesn't care at this point if he gets hit because he thinks watching her fall is the worst pain he can experience.

"I-" Mayura tries but coughs. Her whole body shakes as the air is forced out of her.

Hawkmoth wants to silence her but his mouth has gone dry. Instead, he just holds her as her body shakes. She looks so fragile, lying frail in his arms.

"Mom," Chat gasps as if everything sinks in.

Ladybug's and Hawkmoth's shock hardly feels real right now.

"Adrien," Hawkmoth mutters under his breath as he connects the dots. Nathalie didn't have children but it wouldn't have been the first time the boy had called the woman mom, but how did he know?

"This is your fault!" he roars, "she was upset with you! This whole thing has always been your fault!"

"And she forgave me," Hawkmoth adds calmly, "I've put her through hell and back and she still forgave me."

"She loves you," Chat Blanc says, "she told me she always had."

He feels worse and worse for lying about his feelings each second. He really is a villain and he can't name one person he is hurting at this point.

"I love her," Hawkmoth finally says, he doesn't even know if he's lying, he's said it so much that he is starting to believe it.

Ladybug, still unsure what to do with her lucky charm, places it on Mayura's chest as her breaths become more shallow.

"I'm not like you, I can't hurt her in the way you hurt her. I-"

"Fight it, Kitty," Ladybug pleads, "for me, for yourself, for your mom, anything please, you're stronger than this."

Chat Blanc screams at the release of the akuma, as his suit turns black once, and he is in complete control. Ladybug captures the akuma and before Hawkmoth can comprehend anything, Ladybug picks up the rose and he is being dragged back into the time portal.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" the rose is thrown into and Paris at that point in time is reset.

Bunnyx leaves them on a random roof back in their timeline. Hawkmoth is about to run, he needs to make sure that this version of Nathalie is still alive.

"You know who Chat Noir is," Ladybug says, which makes Hawkmoth pause, "you know who Mayura is, Chat called her mom, you have to know her son."

"I do," Hawkmoth admits.

"Why should I trust you?"

"Because I just saw that and I can't-" Hawkmoth struggles, "I can't relive that."

"Don't make me regret it," Ladybug warns but lets Hawkmoth go.

He crashes into his bedroom, the room where Nathalie has stayed. She looks up surprised to see him still transformed.

"Sir?" her voice is groggy, "what are you doing?"

"Oh, my Nathalie," he runs to her side, glad she is still alive and appears to be in the same condition as when he left.

"Sir," her voice is confused as he wraps his arms around her, hoping that he can protect her from everything else. He doesn't even realize that he has begun crying.
