Chapter 5: Battle For The Loud House
The first thing Lisa and Luan saw halfway down the stairs was the front door being ripped off the hinges and frame by dozens of sharp claws, then several demons began rushing into the house. There were a total of four Xenomorph demons and three scorpion demons, and they quickly began looking around for their prey. The two mysterious agents immediately opened fire on the demons as they rushed into the house, showering them with bullets. The massive beasts screeched in pain as they took every hit, but it wouldn't kill them. One of the Xenomorph demons spotted Rita rushing for the stairs and charged at her with a loud roar, raising its claws towards her.
"Hey, up here you ugly beast!" Lisa yelled, catching the monsters attention.
As soon as the demon glared up at Lisa, she fired a holy water dart right at the massive beast which hit it right in the neck. The monster let out the loudest roar of agony Lisa had ever heard, then it's body suddenly burst into flames and began dissolving like ice blocks in hot water, leaving only a charred skeleton in place which crumbled to ash once the flames vanished. This instantly caught the attention of the other demons who then turned towards the top of the stairs where they saw Lisa and Luan with their weapons in hand. They screeched loudly and charged towards them. Luan quickly shot two of the scorpion demons with her crossbow, killing them on the spot, but the third one managed to jump out of the way and lounged at Luan with its tail stinger raised. Luan quickly side stepped away from the large demonic scorpion and just barely missed being stung. Lisa shot it in the back with a holy water dart and killed it on the spot, leaving only two of the Xenomorph demons remaining. One of them reached the top of the stairs and grabbed Rita by her leg and began dragging her towards its wide open mouth filled with razor sharp fangs.
"LISA, LUAN!" Rita yelled in terror as the demon suddenly placed its enormous foot on top of her and raised its razor pointed tail above her head.
"HEY! GET YOUR OVERSIZED CLAWS OFF OUR MOM, YOU HELL SPAWN!" Lynn Jr yelled, suddenly jumping on the demons back with a long hunting knife in her left hand.
The demon began shaking itself violently as Lynn held onto it's scaly skin tightly. It swung and thrashed its tail around, trying to fling Lynn off of its back, but she held on too tightly. Rita had managed to crawl away to safety as the demon stumbled backwards, lifting its foot off her. Luan quickly raised her crossbow at the demon, but Lisa stopped her.
"No, you fool! You might hit Lynn!" Lisa snapped.
"Then what are we supposed to do? We can't just let her-" Luan started, but stopped when the demon suddenly let out a loud roar of agony, catching everyone's attention.
Lisa turned to see that Lynn had stabbed the hunting knife into the side of the demons head, piercing its left eye. She jumped off the demon and kicked it in the chest, causing it to stumble backwards towards the stairs. Its entire body then burst into flames as it tumbled down the steps, crashing into the last demon standing down below. The remaining Xenomorph demon screeched angrily as it struggled to get back on its feet, but was held back as the two agents in black fired on the monster again. Upstairs, Lisa, Lynn, and Luan helped Rita back on her feet.
"Lynn, how did you kill that thing with just a hunting knife?" Luan asked, glancing at the knife in Lynn's hand, now covered in purplish demon blood.
"I dipped the blade in Lucy's holy water. I heard Mom calling for help, so I figured you two could use a hand" Lynn replied.
"Well, you were just in time. Had it not been for you, Mom would probably be demon food right now" Luan said.
"Don't get comfortable yet. There's still one left" Lisa pointed out, glancing down the stairs.
The final demon roared angrily and charged up the stairs as Luan raised her crossbow at the beast. Lisa quickly reloaded her gun with another holy water dart as Luan fired an arrow at the demon who quickly dodged it and swung its tail at her. This Xenomorph demon was bigger than the other one, and Lisa noticed small bits of silver fabric on the beasts shoulders, but wasn't able to make out what it was. She was pretty sure this one was the leader, because he seemed to be much smarter and stronger than the other ones. Luan managed to jump out of the way of the demon, then loaded another arrow onto her crossbow and raised it at the monster as it turned its sights on Lisa. Luan was about to fire when the demon quickly spun around and kicked the bow out of her hands and grabbed her with it's huge tail, lifting her off the floor. Lynn attempted to charge at the demon, but it kicked her back against the wall with its massive foot, stunning her.
"You pathetic human bitch! I'm not as stupid as my other slain kin were! I won't fall for your tactic's that easily!" the demon hissed in a deep, evil baritone voice.
Luan and Lisa were terrified that these monsters were capable of speaking, and it was clear this demon wasn't going to be as easy to kill as the others were.
"You'll all pay for slaying my other soldiers of darkness! Once I've killed you two, the rest of your family will become hosts for the rest of my masters demon armies! Consider this revenge for the murder of my other brothers!" the demon boomed angrily.
"That's where your wrong, beast!" Lynn Jr yelled, rushing forward at the demon.
The large beast spun around and attempted to strike her with his massive claws, but Lynn ducked and slashed the monster across its tail with her knife, causing it to drop Luan. The demon roaring in pain as the holy water covered knife burned his tail, then tried crushing Lynn with his large foot, but she skidded out of the way and stabbed the demons foot. Her talent as an athlete allowed her to gain the upper hand on the massive beast, using her knife to slash at the demons legs and tail. The monster was in extreme pain at this point, falling to his knees and roaring in pain. Lisa quickly raised her tranquilizer gun and prepared to end the demon, but the beast got serious at this point and spun around, striking Lisa with its fist and sending her flying across the hall where she slammed into Luan behind her. The demon then grabbed Lynn in both hands and began lifting her off the ground, roaring angrily.
"I grow weary of you wretched humans!" the demon snarled, then slammed Lynn down to the floor, knocking the wind out of her.
Luan and Lisa still lay on the floor stunned from the demons powerful blow. The tranquilizer gun lay on the floor out of reach, but Lisa noticed Luan's crossbow laying just next to Luan with an arrow notched inside it at the ready. Smirking, Lisa slowly crawled towards the crossbow, trying not to alert the demon as it towered over Lynn Jr. The young athlete attempted to get back up, but the demon suddenly struck her with his claws and sent her slamming against the wall with a shower of blood hitting it. Lynn screamed in pain as her chest was struck with the demons claws, drawing blood. The rest of her family could only scream and cower in fear from within Lisa's room, not wanting to challenge this beast.
"Your not getting away this time. You may have killed my other demon soldiers, but this is where you meet your end, human! The rest of your race will soon face our wrath afterword's. We have other ways of entering your world, but you won't live to find out how!" the demon hissed, raised its foot above Lynn's head with the intent of crushing it flat.
"That's where your wrong, you foul demon!" Lisa yelled, aiming Luan's crossbow right at the demons head.
The demon turned just in time to see Lisa firing Luan's crossbow, then a holy water covered arrow pierced through its head. The monster let out an agonizing roar as the arrow struck him right between the eyes, then he stumbled backwards, falling to the floor and bursting into flames. Soon after, only a charred skeleton remained as Lynn tried getting back on her feet. Her sports shirt had four large rips in the front from the demons claws which had also slashed the skin on her chest wide open, drenching it in blood. She also had bruises on her face and arms as well from being thrown around by the demon, but luckily had no broken bones. Lisa and Luan also had several bruises on them as well, but no serious injuries like the one Lynn had.
"Girls, you alright?" Rita gasped, rushing out of Lisa's room.
"Other than being buffed up a bit, I'd say we're both alright," Lisa replied. "The same can't be said for Lynn though".
Rita glanced over at Lynn Jr, who was balancing herself against the wall with one hand and clutching her chest with the other. She was beginning to lose a lot more blood than usual and breathed heavily.
"Lynn!" Rita exclaimed in shock, rushing over to Lynn.
"Man... that beast was a tougher nut to crack than I thought," the young athlete said weakly, glancing down at the ash on the carpet. "At least he's dead and gone now".
"Those wounds are serious. You need medical attention right away" Rita said in a serious voice.
"She's losing quite a bit of blood. We need to bandage them up," Lisa inquired. "Those wounds will also need to be stitched up. I have a large med kit in my closet that should be able to patch Lynn up".
As she helped Lynn into her room with Rita and Luan behind her, the two mysterious agents suddenly called up to them from downstairs.
"Mr and Mrs Loud, we need to talk" one of them said.
Rita and Lynn Sr had almost forgotten about the agents due to the hordes of demons attacking the house, but they weren't in the mood to start being hounded by two agents they still didn't know much about. Lynn Jr was hurt, and their first priority was helping her.
"Not now! My daughters been hurt by those horrible beasts, and she needs help" Rita replied sternly as Lynn lay on Lisa's bed.
"How did you kill them? Our weapons had almost no effect against those things" the blonde haired agent asked.
"We used crossbow arrows and tranquilizer darts with holy water infused in them. They'll all dead now" Luan told them.
The agents made their way up the stairs, noticing the piles of ash on the floor as they got to the top. It was clear that the demonic creatures were gone, which gave the agents quite some relief knowing they wouldn't be fighting for their lives any further. Inside Lisa's room, Lynn had removed her shirt to reveal several large claw marks in between her chest and stomach area; Lynn's black sports bra was the only thing that had avoided destruction by the demon's claws. Her wounds were wide and slowly oozing blood, causing Lisa to frown in concern.
"I'll need to stitch these wounds up and disinfect them," she said, opening her med kit and removing a large spray can with a red cross on it. "This topical pain killer spray will ensure that you don't feel any pain when I stitch up your wounds".
"That's a relief. These slashes hurt like hell" Lynn replied in an almost sarcastic manner.
As Lisa began working on fixing up Lynn's wounds, Rita and Lynn Sr had entered the hall to confront the two agents in black. Lola, Lana, and Lily had also hidden under Lisa's bed in fear when the demons broke into the house earlier, and Lincoln had run into his room to hide. As for Lori, Leni, Lucy, and Luna, they had also stayed in Lisa's room to protect one another in case the demons attempted to attack them. The entire ordeal with these monsters had been so sudden, and also frightening. One moment, strange agents in black suits show up to the house, and the next moment, a swarm of demons showed up and attacked them along with the rest of the family.
"Just who are you two? Are you CIA? Government officials? FBI?" Lynn Sr demanded.
"No, but we do have very good connections with them," the blond agent replied. "I'm Agent Lloyd Florence of a secret organization known as PIA, short for Paranormal Investigation Agency. The other agent next to me is Agent Nelson Rivers".
"I've never heard of such a thing," Rita snapped in disbelief. "Are you just saying that to hide the truth from us?".
"Is this proof enough?" Lloyd asked, showing her his badge.
The badge bore a close resemblance to an FBI detective badge, but with big black letters saying "PIA" instead of "FBI".
"Looks official, but I don't trust them" Lynn Sr said, eyeing both Lloyd and Nelson suspiciously.
"I understand that you might think we're crazy, but I can assure you and your entire family that we are who we claim to be," Lloyd insisted calmly. "My organization sent us here to investigate the house after receiving several police reports of various citizens in this area being attacked by several unidentified creatures. After they sent photos of those monsters to the police, they sent them to our organization and we tracked down the origin point of where those beasts came from, and it led us to this location".
"Just how did you know they originated from here?" Rita questioned, still uneasy.
"I'm authorized not to reveal any of those secrets to people outside of the PIA, but let's just say we're more well equipped to handle these sort of things than you think, and we're able to track paranormal activity quite easily" Nelson answered.
"Then why are you here? Are you planning to seal the portal up in the basement?" Luna suddenly butted in.
"Portal?" Nelson questioned suspiciously.
"It's a very long story. My sister Lisa can probably give you the details" Luna replied.
Agent Lloyd and Nelson glanced inside Lisa's room to see her stitching up Lynn Jr's wounds. She had managed to stitch up three of the claw marks on her chest and was stitching up the last one. The pain killers ensured that she felt no pain from the stitching process, making the procedure much easier. Agent Lloyd and Nelson entered the room and approached her bed, yet Lisa kept her attention on stitching Lynn's last wound up.
"Lisa Loud, I presume?" Lloyd asked her.
"Yes, that's me," Lisa replied, stitching up Lynn's final slash wound. "I heard everything spoken outside my room. I understand you wanted to speak with me?".
"Yes," Lloyd answered. "We need to know about this so called "portal" your sister just mentioned. Is that where those creatures came from?".
"In a manner of speaking, yes," Lisa replied, fully stitching up the last wound on Lynn's chest. "One of my close colleagues was transformed into one of them which killed my remaining colleagues and fled the house. How those other ones showed up in our world, I don't know. However, judging by what that beast I killed said about his kind having other ways of entering our world, I'm assuming they found some way to enter our world that I don't have any knowledge of yet".
"Where is this portal?" Nelson asked suspiciously.
"Its in the basement," Lisa replied, finishing the stitching on Lynn. "It opened up last night after my sister Lucy performed a gate opening ritual in hopes of finding other realities. When me and family discovered it earlier this morning, I brought several of my science colleagues over here to gather data and observe any activity on the other side of the portal using a probe rover I sent through. When the probe went through though... all hell broke loose".
Both Lloyd and Nelson exchanged concerned looks with each other as Lisa explained how the scientists were brutally attacked and murdered by the third scientist after he was transformed into one of those demons after viewing footage from the probe once it was on the other side of the portal. Once the probes footage was mentioned, Lloyd and Nelson both wanted to see what the probe saw on the other side.
"Do you have footage of what this probe recorded on the other side?" Lloyd asked eagerly.
"If you're wanting to see what the probe saw inside the portal, I regret to tell you that I no longer have the footage since I already destroyed it, nor would viewing it be safe if it still existed" Lisa replied.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Nelson questioned suspiciously.
"Can you give us a bit more of an explanation as to why you deleted the footage? It may have been very valuable to our investigation" Lloyd asked, not sounding too happy.
Upon asking that question, Lisa turned her head away from Lynn Jr to face Lloyd with a serious expression.
"That footage would've have transformed you and your assistant into demons if you were to look upon it. It did the same thing to one of my science colleagues who brutally attacked and killed the other scientists, and my closest colleague named Dr. J ended up blowing her own brains out just to keep from transforming into one of those disgusting hellspawns. That's how this whole nightmare started, and from what I've witnessed, its probably going to get much worse" Lisa explained in both a serious and rather harsh tone of voice.
"Show us this portal," Lloyd said in a demanding voice. "I want to see it for myself".
"It's down in the basement, but I should warn you right before you enter, its a bloodbath down there," Lisa warned them. "Also, I'd highly advise you two not to enter the portal. I have enough reason to believe that it leads to Hell itself".
"We'd better take a look at that, Lloyd," Nelson suggested. "This sounds pretty serious".
"Might one of your family members be able to show us the way to the basement?" Lloyd asked Lisa.
"Me and Lynn can lead you to it" Rita offered.
"Lisa wasn't lying though. It's absolutely nasty down there" Lynn Sr warned.
"We've dealt with gruesome murder scenes before. I think we'll be fine" Nelson assured them.
Lynn Sr and Rita then lead the two PIA agents down the stairs and over to the door leading down into the basement. Once Lloyd and Nelson got to the door, they could smell the blood and death coming up from below. Rita and Lynn Sr stayed behind as the two agents headed down into the basement, not wanting to see the hideous sight from below. Once Lloyd and Nelson got down into the basement, they were absolutely horrified at what they found. The two agents had seen death many times before, but this was the worst they had ever seen before. The amount of blood and gore that covered a large amount of the basement sickened them to the point where they almost hurled, but did their best to hold back.
"Jesus Christ! It's a damn slaughterhouse in here" Nelson exclaimed in disgust.
"We better call for backup and have them send someone down here to remove the dead bodies," Lloyd replied, turning his attention to the glowing red pentagram on the basement wall. "Looks like this is the portal Lisa mentioned, and this must be the probe".
Lloyd examined the large rover like probe still parked in front of the portal, covered in dried blood, but otherwise completely undamaged. The damaged computer terminals lay near it, completely broken and unusable.
"She sent this thing through there? It's pretty big for a probe, and what's with the weapons on it?" Nelson wondered, examining the probe all over.
"Probably for defense, but I doubt they'd even lay a scratch on those type of creatures we fought earlier" Lloyd speculated.
"What are we gonna tell the higher up's? This looks pretty serious," Nelson asked., gazing at the portal in fear. "I think this is where those beasts came from, and if my guess is correct, we need to find a way to close it to stop anymore from coming through".
"I don't think those other ones that showed up and attacked our team came from here. Actually, I don't know where those other ones came from, but I think they might have other ways of entering our world. We may have been downstairs at the time, but I clearly remember hearing one of those monsters saying that his kind had other ways of coming through whatever dimension they're from to our world," Lloyd replied. "Lisa mentioned it too".
"Just what are we dealing with, Lloyd? If we could view what this probe saw on the other side of this portal, we'd probably get a better understanding of what forces we're up against" Nelson asked as he glanced at the probe.
"Lisa said she destroyed it since it somehow allowed one of those monsters to possess one of the scientists she was working with into a beast that caused all this chaos down here. I can't deny that story of hers being true given what we just witnessed" Lloyd replied.
"Just what do you suppose this probe saw on the other side that caused all this trouble?" Nelson wondered, glancing at the glowing red pentagram.
"I don't know, and I'm certainly not going to take the chance of going through the portal myself to find out" Lloyd replied.
"I know what's in there, and it's beyond terrifying" a young female voice suddenly said.
Lloyd and Nelson quickly spun around reaching for their guns, but stopped upon seeing that it was Lucy who had spoken. She stood near the same air vent that she had cowered in earlier after witnessing all the carnage in the basement. Lloyd and Nelson were shocked at how easily they had missed seeing Lucy; they hadn't even heard the vent opening.
"Kid, don't sneak up on us like that! You almost gave us heart attacks!" Nelson exclaimed in relief.
"My apologies," Lucy replied in her usual gloomy tone, but with a hint of unease in it as well. "I came down here to warn you about what forces your dealing with, and there's something else Lisa neglected to mention as well".
"Just how in the world did you get in here without us hearing you?" Nelson questioned, realizing that he never heard Lucy coming down the stairs.
"I came in through the air shafts, but that isn't important," Lucy replied, sounding a bit more harsh than usual. "What's important is that you listen to what I have to say".
Lloyd and Nelson were slightly taken aback at how coldly Lucy spoke, but they still listened with intrigue.
"What was it your sister didn't tell us?" Lloyd questioned.
Lucy was silent for a moment before speaking, clearly disturbed by something serious.
"I... I almost ended up transforming into one of those monsters earlier. Had it not been for Lynn Jr splashing holy water on me, I'd probably end transformed like your other men when those scorpion beasts stung them," she replied, trembling slightly. "I also ended up seeing what the probe saw on the other side of the portal, and... it was horrible. Worse than any nightmare any person could ever experience in their life".
"What exactly did you see?" Nelson asked suspiciously.
"It... it was Hell. The actual Hell itself," Lucy replied darkly. "So many condemned souls that rejected God and Christ, ones that lived lives filled with nothing but sin and evil. They were all there, all being tortured by demons in ways the human mind can't even comprehend. Somehow... one of them entered my body through the footage and tried to possess me, and it took everything I had not to let it take full control".
"Wait, one of those monsters possessed you like my other team mates?" Lloyd asked, shocked.
"Yes, it happened when I looked at the probes live feed on those busted computer terminals like I just mentioned. Human eyes are not meant to look upon Hell. Were you to gaze upon it, you would not only go mad, you'd get possessed" Lucy answered.
"How is it possible for you to still be alive if you looked at the probes live feed?" Nelson questioned.
"My sister Lynn cast the demon out of me with holy water, and that's about around the time you showed up" Lucy replied.
Lloyd and Nelson were shocked by everything that Lucy had just told them. Lisa hadn't mentioned this to them, but they didn't deny it being true after everything they just witnessed. Just then, the three of them suddenly heard the probe starting to move, catching their attention right away. Lucy watched in horror as the probes camera head spun around to reveal the camera lens glowing bright red, then its defense system came online and proceeded to attack the three of them. Two small doors on the front of the probe slid open to reveal two large laser cannons that opened fire at Lloyd and Nelson who managed to jump out of the way before they got hit. Lucy dove behind the dryer, just barely missing the oncoming laser beam from the probe. The probe began spinning around and attempted to grab Nelson, but Lloyd shot the metal arm which disabled it.
"What the hell?! Why's that thing attacking us?" Nelson yelled in shock and confusion.
"I don't know! It just turned on and starting shooting at us!" Lloyd replied back as he fired at the probes camera head.
He managed to hit the left camera eye of the probe, destroying it, but the probe quickly retaliated by quickly firing its laser cannons at him. It managed to shoot Lloyd in the chest, causing him to stumble backwards and slump against the wall.
"LLOYD!" Nelson yelled in horror as the probe rotated around to face him next.
Nelson fired again and again at the probe, but it's heavily enforced armor prevented his revolver from doing any damage to it. Right as the probe was about to return fire, a loud gunshot rang out from above the stairs and the probes entire head was blown clean off, causing the probe to completely shut down. Nelson looked up to see Lynn Jr standing at the top of the stairs with a double barreled shotgun in her hands. She was still shirtless with only her black sports bra covering her chest, and she now had bandages wrapped around her stitched up wounds and a few on her face and arms.
"Lisa saw what was going on down here on the security cameras, so she figured you'd need a hand" Lynn informed as she glanced over at Lloyd, who was still laying against the wall after taking a hit from the probes laser cannons.
At the same time, Lucy crawled out from behind the dryer looking slightly shaken up from what had just happened. Lloyd was still slightly conscious and began attempting to stand up. A large burn mark could be seen on his chest from when the probes laser hit him, but it luckily hadn't gone through him. Lloyd's suit simply had a charred hole with what appeared to be shiny material underneath it resembling latex.
"Lloyd, you alright there?" Nelson asked, helping Lloyd onto his feet.
"Yeah, my under armor really saved me there" Lloyd replied, glancing down at the hole in his suit along with the burn mark on the shiny black under armor.
Lisa then entered the basement to find the probe shut down and destroyed from Lynn's shotgun blast. She was still shocked and greatly concerned as to why the probe suddenly turned on and activated its defense systems without her command. Lisa didn't like the idea of destroying a probe that took her weeks to construct, but given the situation, she didn't have much of a choice.
"You guys okay down here?" Lisa asked the group in concern.
"Yeah, I took a hit, but I'm good" Lloyd replied.
"Lisa, why did that probe attack us? I thought you had it shut down" Nelson questioned, glancing at the headless probe.
"It was shut down," Lisa confirmed, looking at the probe with a look of great concern and even fear. "I... I don't understand how it was even possible for the probe to power up since the command cable wasn't plugged into my laptop anymore. I unplugged it after calling it back through the portal".
"It might have been possessed like I was earlier" Lucy speculated.
Lisa glanced over at Lucy, surprised to see her in the basement again.
"Lucy, what are you doing down here? All of us were wondering where you went, and you should already know by now that the basement clearly isn't safe" Lisa scolded.
"I came down here to inform these two agents of my possession that you neglected to tell them. I didn't expect your machine to suddenly turn on and try to zap us" Lucy shot back harshly.
"If that probe wasn't plugged into your laptop, then how was it able to turn on?" Lynn asked suspiciously.
"I don't know," Lisa replied, glancing at the glowing red portal. "But I have a feeling that whatever was on the other side of that portal had to have been behind it somehow".
Before anyone else could say anything, the portal suddenly began to glow brighter with a low humming sound. Everyone glanced at the portal in fear as the humming slowly intensified, and even Lucy looked frightened. She was still greatly shaken up by seeing what the probe had seen earlier, but being possessed by a demon had almost scarred her for life. It had taken every amount of willpower Lucy had to keep that demon from taking over her completely. She was forever thankful that Lynn Jr basically saved her life by dumping holy water on her and casting the demon out, and Lucy planned to properly thank Lynn later. However, she and the others all had bigger problems to worry about now.
"W-what's happening? Is something coming out of there?" Lynn exclaimed fearfully.
"I don't know" Lisa replied.
"Lloyd, better get your weapon ready" Nelson advised, reloading his gun.
"I don't know if it'll do much good against whatever forces come out of there, but it's not like we have a choice" Lloyd replied, reloading his weapon as well.
The portal continued to glow brighter and brighter as the humming got louder and louder. Eventually the red light got so bright that everyone had to shield their eyes, and the humming began to hurt their ears. However, after about a minute, the portal suddenly flashed instantly for a second and then returned to normal. The humming stopped and the glow dimmed down back to its normal level of brightness. Everyone uncovered their eyes and gazed at the portal in confusion, not knowing at all what just happened.
"What the hell just happened?" Lynn Jr asked in confusion.
"I... I don't know," Lisa replied nervously. "But something tells me it wasn't anything good".
"Maybe it was reacting to something" Lucy suggested.
Just then, a beeping sound could be heard coming from Lloyd's suit. He reached into his suit and pulled out a device that looked similar to a Samsung Tablet, gazing down at the screen as the tablet beeped repeatedly. As Lloyd gazed at the tablet screen, his eyes widened in horror at whatever it was he saw on it.
"Lloyd, what is it?" Nelson asked in concern.
"My god," Lloyd exclaimed in horror. "Strange energy patterns matching the ones from the portal are showing up all over the place, and it's not just in Michigan, its the whole damn planet".
As soon as everyone heard Lloyd say that, they felt their blood run cold. It didn't take a genius to know what he meant, and they all knew things just got far more serious than ever.
"N-no! Are you saying that there are more of these portals appearing all over the globe?" Nelson demanded fearfully.
"Yes, and they're all appearing at an alarming rate," Lloyd replied darkly. "My anomaly scanner is detecting at least 40 of them appearing in several areas of the U.S continent, and about 30 appearing over in the European Nations. Four more just showed up in Japan, and there are more now appearing in Australia and Canada. My god, these things won't stop appearing!".
"What?! How's that even possible?! The portal here in the basement only opened up when Lucy performed that ritual of hers, so why are there other ones appearing all around the world?" Lynn exclaimed in disbelief and fear.
"I have no answers Lynn," Nelson replied. "None of us do".
"What about Lucy? She performed that ritual, so she should know why this is happening" Lynn implied, glancing over at the goth sibling who now looked more horrified and scared than ever before.
"I... I don't know. I really don't," Lucy stammered fearfully. "The grimoire never mentioned anything like this".
Lloyd and Nelson quickly looked over at Lucy when she mentioned the grimoire she used to perform the gate opening ritual the other night. Lisa had not mentioned the grimoire when she told them about the portal earlier, so this was the first time they heard it being mentioned.
"Grimoire? You used a grimoire to perform this ritual? Where is it?" Lloyd demanded rather harshly.
Lucy felt her heart jump upon realizing that she had just mentioned the grimoire when she hadn't intended to. Lisa had intended to study it in order to find a way to seal the portal and undo what Lucy had done, but if these agents were to take it from them, it would greatly impede her efforts to do so.
"I... I misplaced it somewhere last night," Lucy lied, trying her best to sound convincing. "I was tired after performing the ritual, so I don't remember where I put it".
"Kid, stop lying," Lloyd snapped, then spun his tablet around so the screen faced Lucy. "You see that?! You see all those red dots that are flashing and beeping? Those are more of those damn portals opening up all over the planet, and we need that grimoire to figure out just how to stop more from showing up. I have no doubt that more of those demonic beasts are planning to invade our world, I just lost my entire team to an army of those monsters. Unless we figure out a way to close all those portals you foolishly opened, the entire world could end up at the mercy of those creatures. Now tell me where that grimoire is now!".
Lucy saw a map of the world on the tablet, and almost every area of the globe showed dozens and dozens of red dots flashing on the screen. She suddenly realized in horror what was happening and began to panic at the thought of more of those horrible monsters invading the Earth and attacking other humans, possibly even transforming them into demons as well. While Lucy felt that she should be the one to fix this mistake since she was the cause of it, she honestly didn't know how. While Lucy knew how to speak some of the foreign words in that grimoire, she didn't know what some of it meant, yet Lisa did. She didn't trust these agents though, as Lucy was afraid they may choose to destroy it.
"But Lisa needs it to translate some of the foreign language in it. If you take it, we'll never find a way to undo what I did" Lucy protested to the agents.
"The PIA is perfectly capable of translating foreign language, so there's no issue there. This isn't a game, Lucy! We need that grimoire, so you either tell us where it is, or I'll have the PIA search this house for it once backup arrives" Lloyd warned coldly.
"Lucy, it's alright. I'll hand it over" Lisa assured the goth sibling.
"What? But Lisa, we need that grimoire to close the portals" Lucy protested.
"I know that, but we don't have a choice here," Lisa replied. "This PIA group seems to know how to deal with stuff like this, so it's probably better off in their hands for now".
"You can trust us, Lucy. We need you to give us that grimoire so we can learn more about how to stop these portals from opening" Nelson assured the goth sibling.
"Its in a drawer inside my room. I can fetch it" Lisa told them.
"Good," Lloyd said, turning to Nelson. "Contact PIA HQ and inform them of the situation, and tell them to send a clean up crew over here to deal with the mess here in the basement".
"I'll get on it right away" Nelson informed.
Lisa rushed back upstairs to fetch the grimoire in her room. She didn't really feel good about handing over that book to these PIA agents since there was a lot in it she could learn from, but Lisa didn't want any trouble or having other PIA agents raiding her room, so she decided to just give them the grimoire. Lisa also figured that the PIA might be able to find a way to close the portals themselves since they clearly dealt with all things supernatural, so this fact put her mind a ease a bit.
"Do you honestly trust those two guys with the grimoire? I'm getting a lot of troubling vibes about them" Lynn Jr asked as she followed Lisa down the hall towards the stairs.
"To be honest, I don't fully trust those two men myself, but they seem to know what they're doing," Lisa replied, heading up the stairs. "If the PIA can translate the language in that book and find a way to close all those portals along with the one in the basement, then I won't have any issue handing it over to them. Also, that books already proven to be pretty dangerous, so it's probably best that we get rid of it".
"But it belonged to Aunt Harriet, and she passed it down to us" Lucy protested.
"Lucy, did you not hear everything Mom said about that book?! She never should have kept it in the house even if she didn't know about the power it contained. Yes, it might tell us how to close the portals opening up all over the world, but I feel better handing it over to the PIA. They're clearly equipped to handle it" Lisa explained in a harsh tone of voice.
"But you said you don't trust them" Lucy argued.
"I don't, but if they know about this kind of stuff and know how to handle it, then their better suited to study the grimoire" Lisa replied as they reached the top of the stairs.
However, the house began to quake just like it did before the other night right after Lucy performed the gate opening ritual, only it was far more violent and stronger than before. The quaking was so powerful that it knocked everyone in the house off their feet, knocked over shelves, bookcases, and even caused some of the walls and floors the crack. The shaking went on for almost two minutes until it stopped, leaving everyone in shock. Lisa and Lynn Jr got back on their feet as Rita and Lynn Sr rushed out of Lisa's room in a panic.
"Lisa, Lynn! You two alright?" Rita asked in a panic.
"Yeah, we just got knocked down from that massive quake" Lynn Jr replied.
"It's just like the one that happened last night, only bigger" Lisa added nervously.
Lucy suddenly came up behind them and said in a nervous voice, "It happened right after I completed the gate opening ritual".
Lisa turned to Lucy, startled by her sneaking up behind her, then asked, "Wait, you mean that other quake was caused by you performing that ritual?".
"Yes, it happened about a minute after I did it" Lucy replied.
Lisa felt her heart racing with fear upon realizing what this meant, but before she could say anything, a scream of horror rang out from nearby; it was Lincoln. The door to his room swung open and he rushed out in terror, then ran into Lisa's room.
"Lincoln, what's with you? What happened?" Lori demanded.
Lincoln trembled in fright as he pointed at the window, then said in a frightened voice, "L-look outside!".
Everyone in the room rushed towards the window, and saw the most terrifying thing they had ever seen. High in the sky were several glowing red pentagram portals, and flying out of them were a fleet of enormous flying demons. They resembled what looked like a horribly mutated bat and a dragon mixed together, but there were also larger ones that resembled a king cobra and a vulture mixed together. Smaller demons were riding on the back of these flying demons with various weapons in hand, and they began to descend upon the city. Lisa had already reached the window and witnessed the horrifying scene unfolding, and then she remembered what she said earlier.
"It's probably going to get much worse" Lisa had said to Lloyd and Nelson.
She realized at this point that she couldn't have been more right. Things were getting worse, much worse, and Lisa knew that humanities darkest hour had just begun.
A/N: Looks like the demon invasion has begun. Just what will become of the Loud Family and humanity now? And what of the PIA? Are they friends or enemies? Stay tuned to find out.
