The sun finally broke the horizon and casts its warm light over the Eastern lands of China to greet those to a new day.
Mr. Dickerson was already fielding some questions on the Chinese leg of the World Tour, which was the usual flow on the first day of any typical leg of a major tournament.
"We hope you all continue to support the BBA in our future endeavors." He was positively commenting with a smile on his face while entering inside of the currently vacant arena.
"Sir, we're almost ready to open up the turn-stalls." His Executive Assistant relayed the information after he checked a tablet for the latest update from the other interns in the other parts of the building.
"And the bey teams?" The President of the BBA was inquiring after removing his black bowler hat from atop his bald head and settling it against his side.
A few taps could be heard before his Executive Assistant eventually reveals, "Most of them have arrived and anxiously await the next announcement in the players' room."
'If only I could be a fly on the wall in that room.' Mr. Dickerson was curiously wondering about the players' interactions between the beyblading teams participating in the tournament.
"Well let us move with haste then," The elderly man encouragingly declared with a small smile on his face.
[Player's Room]
"What's with this atmosphere?" Max jokingly questions while he interlocks his hands behind the nape of his neck and scopes out their competition.
He felt an elbow against his ribs along with a feminine voice, "What? Playboy Maxie is antsy, I don't believe it." He was merely cracking a smile at the comment before playing it off, "As if you aren't anxious to battle. Got to get the nerves out some way Aud."
The dirty blonde merely folded her arms across her chest, pondered for a second and nodded in agreement.
"Well those two seem to be getting along now." Hiromi eventually points out to her other two teammates while she watches the blondes interacts in a friendly manner.
Wenling was physically nodding her head in agreement while briefly peeking over at her shoulder to see the other teams quietly prepping for the leg while others were laying back while one in particular was still in the twilight zone.
This particular person caused a smile to stretch across her face.
Her green eyes eventually returns her sights on to her teammates, who converses with some member of the Bladebreakers until her eyes eventually comes across their captain, who aimlessly stares at the wall in front of her.
As she made a move to address her captain, an intern entered to announced "I need Yuan and White Tiger X to follow me. There will be another intern that'll pick up F Dynasty and PPB Allstars once arena two receives the all clear."
"Looks like your girlfriend been getting pretty cozy with Max." Miriam was breaking her silence after watching the couple flawlessly exchanging a complex handshake with equally bright smiles on their face.
Ozuma opted to ignored her when he suddenly felt a pair of eyes, which belonged to none other than the blonde bombbshell on Yuan's team, known as Audrey, who winked at him before he nodded his head as a silent "good luck" gesture.
"We saw that!" His teammates purposely teases him with more taunts about his relationship status with Audrey.
He was merely narrowed his eyes on the blonde male from Bladebreakers, who seemed a tad bit too comfortable in his friendship with Audrey, 'I might have to keep an eye on him.'
[Blitzkreig Boys]
"How'd Yuan pulled the first round?" Ian annoyingly grumbles at the fact that his team will have to sit in the stands and watches matches this round.
Bryan simply shrugged his shoulders while Spencer deliberately quipped, "Your mad about not blading first or is it because you want a crack at Yuan?" A blush of embarrassment visibly dusts the shortest member's face.
"Aw how sweet...little Ian has a crush." The silver haired teen jokingly teased as he roughly pulled on his cheek like a grandmother would do her grandchild to her affection.
The young man roughly smacks the hand away from his face, which instantly earns Tala's attention, "No fighting,"
"But mom...Ian has a crush on Yuan." "Just shut up!" His voice rose to a level that earned a few curious glances their way from the other competitors.
Spencer was rolling his eyes before down playing, "Lighten up, Ian. I was just teasing you, that's all."
The purple haired teen refused to respond and angrily stewed at the reactions he earned from his teammates.
[Arena]
"Ni hao from the tranquil yet populous city of Beijing and the second leg of the annual BBA World tournament!" A man with a red bandanna over his brown locks and dark black sunglasses over his eyes was shouting in to a microphone while standing on a pivoting platform hovering over a screaming crowd of fans.
He then peered downward before he introduced himself to the crowd, "My name is Blader DJ and we're ready to see fierce competitors battle for the rights to be number one in the beyblading world!"
The crowd went wild as a response while Blader DJ and the platform seamlessly glided across the heads of the fans as he returned back to his original position.
"We have two ultra-competitive battles happening at the same time!" The young man eagerly broadcasting while holding up two fingers before pointing toward the now split jumbotron screen behind him.
"In arena one, we have two of the three Chinese Reps going head to head! The hometeam favorite, White Tiger X, is slated to emerge as the top seed among the other three reps." Images of White Tiger X then airs on screen once they emerges from within the hallway and out onto the arena floor.
"On the other hand, the sudden reveal of a familiar face on a new team sparked controversy for Yuan during their rookie debut in the BBA! Nevertheless, they managed to shake up the experienced World Champs, the Bladebreakers, in to a draw during the Japan leg." The camera swiftly panned over to Yuan once they strolled out onto the arena floor with a close up on the familiar brunette on the all-girls team.
"Why do they keep bringing that up?" Takao annoyingly grumbles under his breath while he adjusts his baseball cap to block the sun rays.
Max was relaxing against the seat, propping his feet up and casually suggesting, "Because it shook the entire beyworld when our manager showed up on another team,"
Rei simply nodded his head while Kai sat in complete total silence with a thin blade of grass between his lips.
'Yet we never got to see her battle.' Hiro quietly contemplates once his eyes spot the familiar brunette among the team, known as Yuan.
"At least the crowd's nicer here than Japan was." Wenling was pointing out while venturing toward their bench.
Audrey shook her head at the memory of crazed Bladebreakers' fans when she honestly opined, "Please don't remind me."
Ruby red eyes merely scans the area while she listens in on their conversation. 'Is this how Takao usually feel before a match?'
Her fist physically trembled from anxiousness, excitement and the need to prove to the world that she is more than just the manager of a championship team but a capable blader as well.
'Yuan will leave their mark on the BBA world.' The young teen inwardly avows once she grabs her hand to cease the nervous shakes.
Lin was wearing a wide toothy grin, which was earning a response from Akane, "Your face will get stuck."
"Let's focus ladies," Meifeng's calm voice break through their conversation when she dutifully remind, "We have a match to win."
"Will the first bladers take their marks," Blader DJ demands from both teams, which causes the crowd to come alive.
"I wonder if they're going to use your hot headed girlfriend first?" Miriam jokingly quipped at Ozuma, who merely ignored his teammate and focused on the empty platform.
"Remember to strike first when the iron is hot." Master Tao easily recite along with a brief nod of his head.
Pink eyes briefly spared a glance at her older sibling, who remained unusually quiet since yesterday.
Blader DJ was receiving a signal from one of the interns before announcing, "Bladers take your marks."
An instant hush fell over the crowd as they anxiously waited to see who would be the first to blade.
"It's none other than the cute yet deadly Mao with her Pink Galux versus former Bladebreakers manager Tachibana, Hiromi!" The male was revealing the names of the two bladers currently approaching the dish.
"Rei," A voice to his far right calls out his name only to register that it was Takao, "Romi going to win so...no hard feelings right?"
A smirk stretched across his face at the jab before he confidently asserted, "She's five years too early to battle Mao."
Mao simply watches as the brunette finally arrives at the opposite end of the dish with a small smile on her face.
"This is a first." Hiromi spoke to no one in particular as she unclasped the thin black leather strap and removed her launcher from her hip.
The pink haired female was mimicking her opponent's facial expression while teasingly rendering, "It'll be my honor to serve you your first lost as a blader."
An "as if" audibly slips from the taller of the two as she twists then locks the blade in to her launcher.
"3...2...1...Let it Rip!" Blader DJ and the crowd excitingly countdowns as the two bladers prepares to launch on the signal.
Mao's blade landed in the dish first since there was an unexpected delay in Hiromi's release.
'Was that on purpose?' Takao was privately thinking since she was still wearing a smile on her face.
Ruby red eyes hones in on the blades that races around the basic dish to catch up to one another.
'Mao's a balance type which means she's either attack and defense or all three,' Hiromi inwardly recalled what it meant to have a balance blade while she thought, 'But from what I can remember...she mostly uses attack and defense.'
"How do you battle a balance blade?" She curiously posed after she heard Takao and Kenny discussed the four blade types.
The two eventually turned toward her with a surprised expression on their faces. "When did you get here Romi?" The bluenette questioned since he saw some grocery bags in her hands.
"A few seconds ago but does the blade's type really affects how you blade against your opponent?" The brunette inquisitively wonders once she steps down from the wooden platform and settles the bags against a column of wood.
"Yes and no," The shorter of the two broke their silence first as he pushed his glasses on to the bridge of his nose before he elucidated, "If you have the right parts for your type then you can maximize your blade's potential output."
"I mean parts do play a part but it's really willpower!" Takao was quickly countering after crossing his arms and shaking his head "no" before dramatically declaring, "Can you face an opponent stronger than you and give it everything you got even if you lose?"
Her eyes grew wide at the determination that naturally radiated off of the young man when he closed his eyes and tossed his hands in the air as he stated, "That's the purpose of being a beyblader."
'And here I used to think he was an idiot that wasted his time with spinning tops,' The teen amusingly recalled her own naïveté about the sport and it's biggest star.
Metal clashing with metal was surfacing her from a trip down memory lane. "WTX strikes first and continues with a deadly assault on Yuan."
"You might want to wake up from la la land, Hiromi." The pink haired teen firmly advises as a smile slips against her lips.
Takao noticed Rei's expression which leaded him to think, 'Stop being a sitting duck and move out of her attack area, Romi.'
"Mao isn't letting up on Hiromi! What a welcome to the BBA!" Galux was repeatedly colliding against with fierce strength until sensing that something was off.
"Come on Romi," Takao was audibly muttering while clutching his fist tightly earning a glance from his seat neighbor, Max.
'What is it?' The Chinese Blader privately wondered as she actively searched for something out of place around her.
Another "clash" captured her attention once she noticed that her opponent's blade still maintained it's rotation.
'Galux should've slowed her down...' Mao was confusingly thinking before feeling something gently pushing her body backwards.
Ruby red eyes briefly peers upwards at the expression of shock on her opponent's face.
"Willpower is great and all but balance types can focus on either two or three properties, which means their strength is also their weakness especially if they battle a Stamina type." Kenny knowingly chimed in while he flashed two, three then one finger.
The grayish white blade started to inch away from the bright pink blade until a significant amount of distance was gained.
"Let's try this again, go Galux!" The pink haired blader promptly commands as her blade spin a bit faster to catch up with her opponent.
"Looks like a deadly game of cat and mouse with Mao as the hunter!" Blader DJ was thrillingly announcing while the crowd was cheering at the top of their lungs for Mao.
"This is bad..." Meifeng softly mutters to no one in particular after she senses the once confident aura around her pupil rapidly dwindles to nothingness.
'So this is what pressure feels like?' The brunette inwardly posed to herself since she felt like she was pushed off a rocky cliff and free fell into an abyss of darkness.
Takao finally ran out of patience so he swiftly stood to his feet and loudly screamed, "Get out of your head, Romi!"
The Japanese blader was wearily closing her eyes until hearing a voice loudly screaming, "Get out of your head, Romi!"
Max merely twisted his pinkie finger in his right ear at the loud outburst from his neighbor once he watched the bluenette stood to his feet.
A sudden burst of energy shoot throughout her body as she felt pressure on her back before it speedily catapult her upward.
"Summon me," A foreign voice abruptly commanded her as she nodded her head and verbally uttered the name "Chi,"
A bright light was emitting from the center of her blade as a loud roar was shaking the arena before a silverish white scaly dragon with no horns was tightly coiling around itself.
The crowd instantly quieted at the sight of the new bit beast that was in front of them.
A "hell yeah" was soon heard from Audrey, who earned a "pop" in the back of the head from Lin before being reprimanded about her foul language.
"Looks like the tables have turned in Hiromi's favor but Galux's owner doesn't seem fazed." Blader DJ was airing after gaining his composure at the sight of Hiromi's summoning her bit beast.
"Attack Galux," Mao was calmly ordering as her blade was speedily closing in for an attack in which she was connecting for a head on collision.
Wenling narrowed her eyes on the jumbo screen until she soon noticed what her teammate managed to successfully pull off against a strong foe.
'Swift as a coursing river, huh?' The darker brunette was privately considering before directing her eyes back on to the match at the dish.
"Mao is in rare form with a series of fierce attacks against her opponent!" Blader DJ eagerly shouted over the rowdy crowd once his platform moved closer to the stadium.
Rei finally pieced Hiromi's plan for his former teammate together after he processed the announcer's message. He was then listening to the someone chuckling off to his right before turning to discover that it was none other than, Takao.
'I have a feeling, he knows what's about to happen too.'
Hiromi patiently waited for her time as she maintained her focus on her opponent's movement for the right moment to counterattack.
Gray eyes were briefly glancing up at the jumbo screen before spotting something off until sensing another dramatic shifting in Hiromi's aura.
A "humph" emits from her lips as a small smile stretches across her face once she hones in on her pupil.
The brunette tightly clutched her fists, which shook from anticipation before she ordered, "Roar, Chi."
Chi, the silver dragon, unraveled itself from the coiled position and flew around in a circle over the cat monster, who attempted to swipe at the dragon before it opened it's mouth to roar.
Pink eyes watches as her Galux piercingly squeals at the sudden increase in decibels that results in a retreat back in to the blade.
"Galux!" She was screaming while Hiromi's blade was speedily circling around Galux right before knocking her out of the stadium.
"In a shocking twist of events, Tachibana Hiromi managed to eke out a victory against a fierce competitor such as Wong Mao!" Blader DJ shockingly broadcasts while the brunette calls her blade back to her.
"They should give Romi her props! What she just pulled off...most experienced bladers can't even do if they wanted too." The bluenette annoyingly pointed out along with a huff and plopped down in his seat.
Max was shooting forward while leaning on his hands with an expression of confusion, "What are you talking about?"
"Hiromi was waiting until the very last minute to evade Mao's attack, which took patience and most of all timing." Rei enlightened his teammate, which earned an expression of awe from the blonde.
An "hm" verbalized with a quick smirk that swiftly disappeared once Blader DJ Jazz announced for the next two bladers.
Hiromi was rotating her entire body toward the bench, descending down the stairs, releasing her breath, peering down at her blade and ruminating, 'We did it.'
Mao wearily scales down the steps, trudges across the steps until she reaches the ground level and heads over to her team.
"Amazing Mao," Gao lovingly gushed with a light blush that dusted his cheeks while Kevin nodded his head in agreement.
"You did well child." Master Tao positively praised his pupil for her spirit shown in battle.
Tears were starting to brim her eyelids before vehemently declaring, "The next time we face off Hiromi, I'll win."!"
On the other side, congratulations were verbally exchanged from her coaches and two of her teammates as she smile and nodded her head.
A hand on her shoulder breaks her out of her thoughts when she overhears, "Way to set the crowd up for me, Hiromi!"
"Go get 'em Aud!" She flashed her a thumbs up, in turn the dirty blonde reciprocated with a wide toothy smile on her face.
The crowd then was observing a dirty blonde confidently striding up to the silver circle known as a bey dish and waiting for her opponent to arrive on the platform.
"Oh... they brought the firecracker out already?" Miriam was jokingly quipping while Ozuma was silently wishing her good luck for her match.
Max repeatedly tapped an index finger against his chin when he opined, "Gary's an Attack type but what is Aud blade type?"
Rei's acute hearing was picking up the blonde's question before confusingly retorting, "Aud?" The blonde teen perked up at the question and clarified, "Aud as in Audrey."
"He's such a love sick puppy." Takao amusingly jokes prior to Max's counter, "It takes one to know one my friend."
"Green eyes eventually peered upward at a tall and large mass of flesh when she overheard, "It's none other than the gentle giant Gao from WTX facing off against the rambunctious Audrey from Yuan."
A vein of anger visibly throbbed against the temple of her head at the adjective used to describe her personality.
"I'm not rambunctious!" She vehemently hissed through her teeth before her focus returned to her opponent.
'I wonder what kind of blader are you?' Her eyes were closely watching her opponent's movements which were almost at a snail's pace until finally attaching the blade to his launcher.
The American blader withdraws her blue launcher and purplish blue blade from her waist holder then connects it to the contraption.
"3...2...1...Let it Rip!" The two bladers roughly yanks the rip cords from their launchers, which releases their blades from the lock.
A "shoot" verbally slips from Audrey's lips once she realizes that her aim was a bit off, which results in a slight decrease in her blade's rotation.
"Uh oh looks like Yuan's Audrey aim was a bit off." Blader DJ knowingly pointed out after he closely observed how the two blades flew toward the dish.
Her fist tighten as she slowly raised and shook it while she piercingly yelled, "Pipe down will ya!"
"The decrease in rotation is going to come back and bite her." Spencer was rendering his opinion, which was earning nods from his neighbor, Ian.
'So what are you going to do now?' Ozuma and Max simultaneously thought as the two blades continuously circled around the bey-dish.
"As if I'm going to let that stop me!" The dirty blonde was annoyingly muttering under her breath as she was focusing in on the match.
"Yo Rei," A voice to his immediate right called out to him when he now turned toward Max, "Isn't Gao an Attack type right?"
The raven haired teen nods his head before he breaks his silence, "Gaizzly does packs a punch."
'What was it that Lanying was trying to tell us about their blades?' Audrey was attempting to recall the information that her teacher was bombarding them with during their pregame warm ups.
She ultimately gave up after she repeatedly tapped her finger against her temple until a strong force pressed against her side, which caused her to stumble to her right.
"What the..." The teen girl soon felt the force again, which almost caused her to stumble closer to the edge of the bey stadium.
"Gaizzly is showing absolutely no mercy!" Blader DJ shouts as Gao relentlessly strikes his opponent's blade with a fierce strength.
He was softly yet repeatedly uttering, "This is for Mao."
Audrey then lifts her hands so that her palms face outward to him and opines, "Whoa, whoa, whoa lover boy you're taking your anger out on the wrong person."
'Hiromi...you owe me one big time!' She inwardly thought after she cut her eyes toward her bench at the one who unknowingly created this problem.
'I got to think of something quick or I'll run out of speed...what can I do?'
"Why are we running so much?" A breathless Audrey was gasping for air all while trying to huff out her question.
"It helps with endurance. When the blader is in shape, the stronger your blade will grow." Hiromi explains while she attempts to catch her breath.
The dirty blonde finally collapsed on the ground only to feel pressure at her legs, which prompted her to look up at scarlet red eyes.
"You finally found your home," Archimedes colorlessly states before she steps over her.
"Hiss, Bashe," She commands for her bit beast to materialize as pulses of yellow green light emits from the center of her blade. A large brown snake with dark green diamond patterns on its body and sharp eyes naturally lapped it's tongue out to hiss.
Not one for letting his opponent get the jump on him, Gao was summoning Gaizzly forth.
"A bear versus a snake, who will win this deadly fight?!" Blader DJ dramatically exclaims as he leans over the edge of his movable platform.
"Constrict," Her blade speedily closed the distance between her and her opponent and tightly circled around Gaizzly.
Gao was feeling his speed drastically dwindling due to her blade circling around his.
'So she's trying to burn him out but...' Max privately contemplated while Ozuma unknowingly finished his sentence, 'She's losing speed too.'
"It's a battle of who can outlast who?!" Blader DJ surmises while he leans forward with the mic in his hand.
Gao felt an invisible force tightly bound his arms as he stared at a pair of slit serpentine eyes. Audrey was starting to feel resistance which means with a little more room, he was going to attack.
"Release," The dirty blonde eventually ceased her attack on the large mass of flesh as she listened to the announcer declare, "In a shocking move Audrey is backing off."
'That move was a double edged sword so it's best to conserve your power.' Ozuma inwardly ruminated about her sudden decision to move away from her opponent.
'She managed to drop Gao's speed so she has to avoid his attack or she'll stadium out.' Rei privately weighed with his eyes now glued on the battle.
"Hiromi, what's happening?" Wenling curiously questions after she steps away from a brief conference with Meifeng and Lin.
Ruby red eyes narrows in on Audrey's face which was a mixture of determination, desperation and drive.
"Aud being Aud," She simply responded with her eyes close and dropped her head.
The darker brunette was chuckling at the answer to her question before jokingly divulging, "Leave it to our honey badger to shake up a match,"
"Attack, Gaizzly!" Gao shouts as his blade gains speed and manages to connect with Audrey's blade.
'I can't take another hit like that or I'll lose.' "Trust me," She hears her blade communicate with her as Gaizzly circles back around for another attack.
"Whatever you say, Bashe!" The dirty blonde ultimately relinquished control ovdr her bit beast.
"Did she just pick up some speed?" Blader DJ confusingly questioned since Audrey's blade avoided the attack and descended toward the center of the dish.
An "oh" slipped from Takao's lips once he presumed he knew her plan. Max merely smirk at the actions of his fellow blonde.
"She's grasping for straws...how pathetic." Miriam amusingly stated which finally garnered a response from her captain, "Haven't you ever learned to think before you speak?"
Audrey was watching as Gao was sending his blade towards her when she was feeling a surge of energy before her blade was speeding towards his.
Three clanks were soon heard as forest green eyes peered downward to see her blade by her foot.
"I don't believe it ladies and gentlemen...both blades have stadium out!" Blader DJ break his silence while the crowd sits in awe. Suddenly, a round of applause from the stands eventually capture their attention.
"Way to go Aud!" Max was loudly shouting after standing up and clapping for the dirty blonde teen's close match.
Thousands of eyes instantly hone in on the blonde Bladebreakers, who openly cheered for a blader not on his team. Eventually the other two members plus Ozuma stood and clapped for her.
Finally, the crowd join in as a light blush dust her cheeks once she momentarily glance over at Ozuma, who simply nods his head.
The young teen briefly spared her opponent one final look as he collected his blade and headed back to his bench.
"Well a good battle to you to grizzly." She annoyingly huffs about the giant's lack of sportsmanship once she collects her blade and scales down the steps.
"You did good," Wenling was encouragingly cheering while patting her friend's shoulders with one of her hands.
"Whew! That was too close for comfort." Audrey sincerely exasperates with her blade against her chest and relief courses through her body.
"You should've won." Archimedes finally broke her silence, which instantly riled up the dirty blonde, "Whatever Frosty,"
Blader DJ then called forth the next two bladers, which sent the crowd in to yet another eerie silence as they waited to see which two bladers would battle.
"Let's go Lee." The elderly coach demanded, which prompted the gloomy raven haired male to stand, approached the group before he headed toward the dish.
"Lee, the passionate yet stubborn leader of WTX, will stand ready to face who from Yuan?" All eyes were now on Yuan as none of their members moved from their huddled position until they received the signal.
The teen, who moved first, instantly captured Tala's attention as she casually stepped away from the group and stood at the bottom of the steps.
"It looks as if we have Yuan's captain facing off against WTX captain! A captain versus captain battle!"
