"Come on down." Rick tells the man now that he's safe. The man climbs off the rock he was on "you okay?"

We all eye him curiously and he holds up a finger before turning to hurl. He wipes his mouth, still shaking and apologizes "Sorry. Yes. Thank you." he says "I'm Gabriel."

"Do you have any weapons on you?" Rick asks the man.

The man chuckles, obviously uncomfortable being surrounded by us. "Do I look like I would have any weapons?" He asks.

"We don't give two short and curlies what it looks like." Abraham pipes up from the back of the group.

"I have no weapons of any kind. The word of God is the only protection I need." Gabriel answers Rick's questions.

Daryl quips back "sure didn't look like it" and I nudge him.

"I called for help. Help came." He explains us coming as a call to his faith. "Do you have- have any food? Whatever I- I had left, it just hit the ground." He asks.

"We've got some pecans." Carl offers him, pushing his hand out.

The man accepts "Thank you." Judith coo's in Tyreese's arms. The man looks over to her "that's a beautiful child." he states. I look to Rick for his response but he just continues to stare at the man. The man changes the subject "do you have a camp?"

"No." he responds instantly. "Do you?"

"I have a church." He says.

"Hold your hands above your head." Rick commands the man. He does as he's told and Rick starts to pat him down. "How many walkers have you killed?"

"Not any, actually." He responds, still visibly shaking.

"Turn around." He tells him, the man listens "how many people have you killed?"

"None." he says back.

"Why?" Rick asks, finishing patting him down.

"Because the Lord abhors violence." He responds.

"What have you done?" Rick steps closer to the man asking in a low growl. The man just stares at him, freight across his face. "We've all done something."

"I'm a sinner. I sin almost every day. But those sins, I confess them to God, not strangers." He says. Although you can see how uncomfortable he is surrounded by us, he will not give us more.

"You said you had a church?" Michonne asks.

He looks to her, at a few of us and nods "follow me" he says gesturing past Rick, as if asking if he can go. Rick moves aside, letting him pass and we follow him.

We stay behind him, his pace quick. The Georgia air is still thick with humidity as fall starts to pass by. "Hey, earlier, were you watching us?" I decide to ask, hoping for an answer to relive Daryl of what he felt.

"I keep to myself." Gabriel looks to me then back forward. "Nowadays, people are just as dangerous as the dead, don't you think?" He says.

"No, people are worse." Rick says flatly back.

"Well, I wasn't watching you. I haven't been beyond the stream near my church more than a few times since it all started. That was the furthest I've gone before today." He looks at us then behind him for a second and turns back around to face forward "or maybe I'm lying. Maybe I'm lying about everything and there's no church ahead at all. Maybe I'm leading you into a trap so I can steal all your squirrels." Rick and Daryl get around him, not agreeing with his sense of humor.

"Come on" I pull at Daryl's elbow, trying to get him to back off. I didn't like it either, but he's a member of a church, he can't hurt him.

"Members of my flock had often told me that my sense of humor leaves much to be desired." Gabriel understands he shouldn't have tried to joke now after everyone glares at him.

Daryl scowls back "yeah, it does." and we keep moving on forward.

We come to a clearing, his church is held up nicely over the years "wow.." I comment at it's standing as we get to the door.

"Hold up." Rick stops next to him, before he can open it. "Can we take a look around first? We just want to hold on to our squirrels." He refers to the bad joke made earlier.

The Godly man hands over the keys and Rick, Daryl, Glenn and Michonne check out the inside. Tyreese passes Judith over to me and goes around the side of the church with his sister. I wait with Maggie, Eugene and Carl as everyone else makes sure it's clear. Everyone returns, clearing the church and Rick returns the keys to Gabriel. "I spent months here without stepping out the front door. If you found someone inside, well, it would have been surprising."

"Thanks for this." Carl says now that I passed Judith off to him, eager to get inside.

"We found a short bus out back." Abraham comes over to Rick. "It don't run, but I bet we could fix that in less than a day or two. Father here says he doesn't want it. Looks like we found ourselves some transport. You understand what's at stake here, right?"

"Yes, I do. Now that we can take a breath-" Rick says looking down at his daughter. Daryl looks at the young baby too, wanting to protect the little ass kicker.

"We take a breath, we slow down, shit inevitably goes down." Abraham argues, not liking the idea.

Michonne agrees with Rick "we need supplies no matter what we do next."

Rick adds on, moving towards the inside of the church "that's right. Water, food, ammunition. Short bus ain't going nowhere."

"Bring you back some baked beans." Daryl jokes going inside. I smile softly toward Abraham and follow Daryl inside.

Daryl puts his bow down in the back pew, taking a seat and putting his feet up in front of him. Gabriel gives him a strange look but he just ignores it and puts his head back. I sit next to him, putting my head on his shoulder "it will be nice to relax, even just for a moment" I whisper softly.

"mmmm" he hums back, keeping his eyes closed but wrapping his arm around me.

Everyone is inside now. Rick asks Gabriel a good question "how'd you survive here for so long? Where did your supplies come from?"

"Luck." Is his response. "Our annual canned food drive. Things fell apart right after we finished it. It was just me. The food lasted a long time. And then I started scavenging. I've cleaned out every place nearby. Except for one."

Rick asks "what kept you from it?"

"It's overrun." He answers.

"How many?" He follows up.

Gabriel thinks for a moment "a dozen or so. Maybe more."

Rick nods "we can handle a dozen."

Sasha steps up "Bob and I will go with you. Tyreese should stay here, help keep Judith safe." She looks to her brother, he smiles at the idea.

"That'll be okay?" Rick asks.

Tyreese nods "sure. You ever need me to watch her, need anything for her, I'm right here."

Rick nods back to him "I'm grateful for it. And everything else."

Gabriel adds to the conversation "I'll draw you a map."

Rick denies his idea "you don't need to. You're coming with us."

I sit up off of Daryl now, wondering what Rick is doing. Gabriel clearly isn't capable of going along, he's like me, or what I used to be. "I'm not gonna be of any help. You saw me. I'm no good around those things." He explains.

I understand what he is saying but Rick doesn't care "you're coming with us." he declares and walks over to Carl.

When I see him walking away from his son I go over to him, to talk with him about Gabriel "Rick." I get his attention. "Let me go with you, he's not gonna be of any help, I would know." I remind him.

"It's fine Sadie, I don't want him here anyway. I don't trust him." He tells me honestly. "Besides, I had Daryl to keep an eye on you, this time I'll be the one to keep an eye on him."

I shake my head "fine, but I can still come with you, help clear it out." I offer.

He shakes his head "No.. I need you to go with Daryl and Carol to find some water, scavenge the road for some supplies, anything you can find." I nod, wanting to argue but also wanting to do what he said. He puts his hand on my arm "thank you" and walks to the back of the church to talk with his son.
