I get out of the shower after he does, following his wet foot prints on the ground to a bedroom "everythin' okay?" I ask him lowly after shutting the door behind me. All we did was make out, but I've never felt closer to him before.

His dirty pants are back on now, the towel resting on the floor "sure" he says back with a smile. "I love you" he tells me, pulling me closer to him.

He puts his hands on either side of my hips and rests his head into my wrapped up stomach "I love you too, Daryl, but you're scaring me" I whisper back running my fingers through his damp hair. I want to be close to him again, feel his hands run down my back. I want him to make love to me.

He shakes his head while mumbling "don't be" and just keeps his head pressed against me. A few moments pass before he lifts his head up and looks up to me "let's get downstairs" he says standing up and grabbing the same dirty shirt and vest he's been wearing. I know better then to ask him if he wants something cleaner, Daryl could care less about appearances, he likes to be comfortable.

Later that night I hang out on the front porch with Daryl and Carol as she tells us a bit about the people she met today. Rick walks out, dressed in an officer's outfit "You a cop again?" Daryl asks him. He told me earlier that Deanna asked him to be the constable for the town. I couldn't tell though why that seemed to bother Daryl so much.

"I'm trying it on for size." Rick says in return.

"So we're staying?" Carol asks.

Rick answers "I think we can start sleeping in our own homes. Settle in."

"If we get comfortable here, we let our guard down- this place is gonna make us weak." I say lowly, nervous of being that person I used to be.

"Carl said that." Rick tells me "but it's not gonna happen. We won't get weak. That's not in us anymore. We'll make it work." He presses on with what he's saying "and if they can't make it, then we'll just take this place."

I look at Daryl, who's looking at him with a dead locked stare. Rick goes back inside and Daryl eases up once he is gone "Daryl, we're not those people, we won't be" I trail off, not agreeing with Rick's speech.

He shrugs "sometimes we gotta do things we don't like" he says back to me with a one shoulder shrug and I know not push it farther.

The next morning Rick and Carol come back from outside the walls. He informs me that Daryl stayed out to hunt for some food, to keep an eye on the perimeter. "He say how long?" I ask him.

"No, but should be back before it gets dark." Rick says back to me "Deanna wants us over her house in an hour." He says while walking by me.

"She say what for?" I ask.

He shakes his head "just to bring you and Michonne along with me. I'll meet you down here in a bit" and just as quickly as he walked into the house he's out of my sight.

An hour later and I'm sitting next to Maggie at a square table. Deanna walks over with a clear glass filled with crystal clear water. "You protect and serve. You patrol, walk the wall, watch out for the kids. If there's a conflict, you solve it. And people will listen to you." She explains to Rick and Michonne their roll as the police here.

Michonne coiffs back "because we're wearing windbreakers?"

"Because they believe in this." She responded without hesitation "because I'm telling them to." She points out the window "a police officer used to live here. So we had these jackets and I wanted to make it official. So it's official." She sits down on a bar stool, her face eager "there's gonna be a government here one day. That's why I want Maggie working with me. There's gonna be a police force. That's why I want you two to start it. There's going to be a hospital, that's why need Sadie there. I see a vibrant community here with industry, commerce, civilization. Real lives." She talks with ease but also with power, determination. "It might be horses and mills, but- what? Does that sound like pie in the sky?" She stops and asks, probably all of having the same dumbfounded smirks on our faces.

"No." Maggie answers her when she looks to her.

She turns her attention to me "No." I respond back.

"No." Michonne echoes when she looks to her.

Her focus is on Rick last. He answers "No." And she smiles just a little. "Can we talk security?" Rick asks next.

Deanna "of course, let's take a walk." She stands up, leaving her glass behind and leads us out of the house.

We get outside but Rick walks past her to take the lead, and we all follow him. "We need a constant patrol along the walls. Not just looking for damage, but signs that anyone climbed in from outside. You can move right up the supports. That's what I'd do." He explains "people are the real threat now."

Deanna stops "Rick, I know you think that we should all be armed within the walls. I- I can't do that."

"That's fine." He tells her. "You make these changes, we won't need to."

"Excuse me." A voice calls to us. Sasha walks over slowly. "I want to volunteer to be one of the lookouts in the clock tower." She offers the idea for her own job.

"There are no lookouts in the clock tower." Deanna returns.

"What?" I spit out surprised.

Michonne quickly adds on "we saw someone up there earlier."

Deanna explains it to us "that was an empty rifle my son Spencer put up there. He mans it sometimes, but not often. Look, there hasn't been the need." She says to us all, but is looking at Rick.

"We need a lookout in that tower right now, 24/7. It's the only way we'll be able to see if someone's coming at us." Rick commands.

"Okay, okay, we'll make shifts." Deanna agree's.

Sasha steps in "i'll take those shifts, as many as possible."

Deanna looks at her quizzically "Why?"

But Sasha doesn't answer, her breath getting caught in her throat "Sasha's one of our best shots. She can do it." Maggie tells Deanna.

Deanna nods slowly. "I'm gonna put Spencer up there today. I'll consider you being our primary lookout, but I want something in return." Sasha looks at her, waiting for what it is she wants. "Tonight I'm hosting a welcome for all of you at my home. I want you to be there." She says.

"Why?" Sasha asks her this time.

Deanna smiles "come tonight. Then we'll talk about it." Sasha hesitates, then slowly walks away. "I want you all to be there." Deanna says when she is out of ear shot "I hope you will find time to make it." And with that she walks away from us.

I arrive at the party with Noah. It's around 5 o'clock and Daryl still isn't back yet. I grab a glass of white wine from their drink table and stand off near the edge of the living room "what you doing over here all by yourself?" A male's voice calls from behind.

"What?" I turn around, not sure they were even talking to me.

"I'm Aiden" He reaches his hand out for me to shake "it's nice to meet you" He smiles.

"Sadie" I reach my hand back.

He shakes it softly and his smile stays plastered on his face "yea I know. I watched your video" he tells me, his eyes adjusting over me.

I release my hand, the way he looks at me making me uncomfortable "well.. okay." I try to ignore the discomfort "nice to meet you" I say before turning back around to face the room full of people.

He doesn't let it go though, and steps right next to me "Daryl seems like a hard ass. What are you even doing with someone like him?" He questions me.

"Excuse me?" I spit back at him.

He chuckles "okay, okay. I'm sorry" he holds up his hands "I can come off kind of abrasive. I just meant to say, you're beautiful." He tries to flirt.

"You got a funny way of putting it." I snarl back before walking off to find Noah.

"Hey." I say when I find him off to the side of a different room.

"Hi." He comments back.

Maggie and Glenn come over to the both of us. "Hey. You okay?" She asks looking at him.

"Yeah. Yeah. Just isn't really my thing. I think I'm gonna head out." Noah comments back.

"No, no. You're not bailing." Glenn doesn't allow him. "We're in this together, man."

"You're here with us now." Maggie adds on. "You're here with family."

He smirks back, hopefully feeling a bit more comfortable. "Come on." She says putting her arm around him and going to walk off.

"You comin'?" Glenn turns his head back to me.

"Yea" I holler back "just gonna go outside and see if Daryl's back yet." I tell him. He nods to me and I turn to leave the house.
