On the next morning, Mara had visited her mother's grave in Oster Cemetery to reach out to her beyond the grave.
"Hello, mother," she started. "This week has been full of ups and downs. At the start of my adventure, I was told of a dark wizard causing trouble in Bronze Grasslands and took it upon myself to hunt her down. I encountered some tough baddies along the way and met this handsome man who offered assistance to me.
"He then took me to Bell Village to meet his family, and we all ate some yummy stew and fish together. We eventually made it to Bronze Grasslands when we encountered the witch, but she escaped, and we got into a big argument and split up.
"I bet he's still mad at me for being a Castlian, and I know it's not my fault. I just don't know what to do at this point. I hope you can offer guidance in my time of desperation. I wish you were here, mother. I miss you."
Mara began to leave the cemetery with tears trickling down her face when she suddenly received a news alert from her MagiSlab. She opened it up and donned a horrified expression. The news article read that the Minotaur had escaped from Silent Tower and is planning to kill King David Silver.
"Impossible!" shouted Mara. "He could never escape without his axe. Unless..." Mara was even more aghast when she realized that the Minotaur had help. "Ivy must've helped him escape!"
Mara rushed toward Summer Hold as quickly as she could. Her mind was racing with thoughts about Ivy and the Minotaur working together. She didn't even have time to think about Icarus because her hometown was at stake.
Meanwhile, Ivy and the Minotaur had breached the entrance to Summer Hold, as the citizens began to quake in fear.
"Please tell me you're good people," one of the citizens squeaked. "You're not going to hurt us, right?"
Ivy and the Minotaur glanced at each other for a brief second and back at the citizen. Ivy then casted her Contamination spell and killed the citizen instantly. The other citizens entered a state of panic and started running and screaming.
King David Silver heard all of the commotion and stepped out of his throne room. "What's all this noise?" he yelled. He then noticed that Ivy and the Minotaur had been wreaking havoc on Summer Hold and ordered the guards to seize the intruders.
"You take care of the townsfolk," Ivy told the Minotaur as she glanced over one of the castle walls, "and leave the king to me." She used her Corrosive Ascent to climb the castle wall and took out the oncoming guards with her Festering Arrow.
The Minotaur picked up a citizen and brought her close to his face. "Hey, lady," he grunted, "where can I find Mara Stone?"
"Please let me go!" the lady shrieked.
"How rude!" he jeered as he tossed her like a ragdoll. "I guess I'll have to find her myself." He continued to rampage through the city, destroying buildings and chopping up citizens along the way.
Ivy soon found herself face-to-face with King David Silver. "So, you came back for revenge," the king grunted with a disgruntled expression. "What do you want from me?"
"I want nothing more than to take over your kingdom," Ivy stated.
"Over my dead body!" jeered the king.
"That's the point!" Ivy chuckled. She tossed a Festering Arrow at King David Silver and dodged the attack. The king retaliated with a Great Flare which nearly singed Ivy as she jumped out of the way
Mara had finally made it to Summer Hold and noticed that the entire city was being destroyed. "Oh no," she muttered as she looked onward and saw the Minotaur rampaging through the streets.
"Where's Mara?!" chanted the Minotaur. "Give me Mara!"
Mara didn't want the citizens to suffer any longer, so she had no choice but to reveal herself. "I'm right here!" she stated as she stood among the carnage. The Minotaur turned around and locked eyes with Mara. "There you are," he grunted. "I'm gonna make you pay."
