Ivy lunged at Mara and grabbed her, as the two fell onto the ground outside of Summer Hold. Mara kicked Ivy off of her and sent her flying a few meters. She quickly got up and drenched the witch with her Aqua Barrage.
"You ruined my clothes again!" screamed a furious Ivy. "You'll pay greatly for this!"
"Wow," Mara jeered, "I can't believe you would stoop that low."
"Shut up!" Ivy howled. "I am sick and tired of you goody-two-shoes always striving for peace!"
"Ivy," Mara chanted, "there's no need for all this chaos. We can build a better future together."
"I'm done playing these games," jeered Ivy. "Your journey ends here!"
The two continued to fight as if their lives depended on it. Well, that's because they did depend on it. Meanwhile, the Minotaur continued throwing his axe and began to chip away at the cliffside on which Icarus stood.
"This is bad," Icarus commented. "I need to find another cliffside." He looked around and found a bridge leading to another cliffside adjacent to the one he was standing on. He proceeded to the bridge and casted his fire spells at the Minotaur along the way. The Minotaur was furious yet relentless. He continued to throw his axe in the fire mage's direction.
"Stop running, you puny worm!" the Minotaur roared. Icarus continued running to the other side until the Minotaur threw his axe and sliced through the bridge, causing it to split and collapse. Icarus grabbed one of the planks and held onto it on the way down. He landed on the mountainside, but he was still hanging.
The Minotaur marched toward where Icarus was hanging and prepared to wedge his axe through the fire mage's skull.
"Who has the high ground now?" taunted the Minotaur as he inched closer and closer. "Time to say goodbye." He raised his axe high in the air, but before he could swing, he heard a confident Icarus shout, "Torching Leap!" followed by a pillar of flame to the face.
"Ahh, it burns!" the Minotaur shouted as he covered his face from the flames and stumbled backwards. When he opened his eyes again, he noticed that Icarus had indeed made it to the other side. He became furious and started to throw his axe again.
Back at the castle, Liam and King David Silver hurled their spells all over the place. Both seemed to be evenly matched. "It's no use, Liam!" the king chanted. "You and your Dark Arts could never hope to seize my throne!"
"I don't want your throne," Liam replied, "I want your life!" The battle continued for some time until the king's guards poured in to offer assistance. Liam stood his ground despite being outnumbered. "My explosions will see me through!" he continued. "Then, tyrants will rule the land!"
On the ground, Mara and Ivy seemed to be locked in a stalemate, but they continued fighting regardless.
"You could never hope to best my poison magic," Ivy chanted. "It will consume the air you breathe until it's reduced to nothing."
"That's where you're wrong," Mara responded, "because liquids outweigh gases."
"Ha! That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!" Ivy laughed. "Just because one thing is heavier than the other doesn't make it more dangerous."
Mara proved Ivy wrong as she launched her Tidal Tempest at her abdomen and knocked her off her feet. Ivy flew a few meters before hitting the ground. Mara walked over to Ivy, who was lying on her back and looked up to see the water mage towering over her.
"Impossible," Ivy coughed. "Gases are supposed to be deadly."
"Never underestimate liquids," Mara replied as she watched Ivy close her eyes and remain still. "Now then," she continued, "where do we go from here?" All of a sudden, she heard an explosion in the castle and rushed over the wall as quickly as she could.
Liam had knocked King David Silver into a wall and chuckled as he prepared to finish him off. "Don't worry, old man," Liam taunted. "This will only hurt a little." He began casting his Detonating Arrow as the king sank his head as if he had accepted defeat.
Before Liam could finish, Mara casted her Tidal Tempest and knocked him out. She then rushed to the king and asked if he was alright.
"I'm fine," the king grunted. "It takes more than a bunch of fireworks to kill me." He walked over to the soaked tyrant and shook his head. "Such a pity," he murmured. "Dark wizards have no respect. Speaking of which, where's the Minotaur?"
Mara gasped as she remembered who's fighting the Minotaur. "He's still out there!"
"Then go kick his butt for me," stated the king. "I'll take care of the unconscious criminals."
Mara nodded and rushed out of Summer Hold to follow the carnage that the Minotaur had left behind.
The Minotaur had begun carving into the other cliffside, and Icarus continued to cast his fire spells in the giant axe wielder's direction. Suddenly, he noticed a figure jumping onto the cliffside and land in front of him.
"Mara, you're alive!" he shouted with an ecstatic expression.
"And so are you," Mara replied as the two proceeded to hug each other.
"Great!" the Minotaur huffed. "Now you can both be together in the afterlife."
Mara and Icarus joined forces once again to take down the Minotaur. They each casted their spells at the Minotaur and overwhelmed him. The Minotaur fumed in anger and threw his axe all over the place. He had just run out of steam when the two heroes blasted him with each of their most powerful spells. The Minotaur fell over and closed his eyes.
