Reviews:
James the apple: I realize. Don't worry, when he has character development he will retain that character development. The only way he would slide back is if he was put in a situation of extreme rage and he went on a rampage slaughtering his enemies. But even then he would retain most of his character development and the only way I would do that in the first place is if I was trying to make him either a villain or an anti-hero of sorts. Of course, after Prototype 2 there's no fucking way I'm going to make him a villain and I would rather not go the rather obvious anti-hero route. So no worries.
Kmart 364: I know Alex is just a guy trying to find his place in the world, and I know generally what happened in the comics even if I never read them myself. So no Alex isn't going to be some dark, brooding, ultra edgy jackass. He might be a bit serious and a bit introverted given his personality, at least at first but I'm going to try my best to make him act like an actual human being. Anyways that's actually a very good idea! Though for the most part I think he will try his best to keep his cool in most situations. He would only resort to his usual methods in extreme circumstances. He's trying to start a new life and turn over a new leaf after all. I can also see Alex being pretty nonchalant because what does he of all people have to worry about. As for comedic relief, maybe once he starts to relax and open up a bit. Otherwise he will start off about as quiet as Todoroki, albeit at least slightly more friendly. Don't worry, I don't really plan on rushing anything.
Imperial Stormtrooper: Yeah... Well one of the characters from class 1-A had to go in order to make room for Alex in the class. Also I fucking despise that little creep so he was the one on the chopping block.
Fancied Fanfic: I suppose he could, but I've personally never found the ability very fun or useful. That's just my opinion though. He kept the adhesive though, so he can use it to make spiderweb like structures to trap villains until the police can come pick them up!
Alex sat down against the wall in the abandoned building he was using as a temporary base and sighed. The past few months had been a major pain in the ass as this entire process had been a lot harder and had taken him a lot longer then he had initially expected. His little stunt in that warehouse when he first got here had sent the Police and Pro Heroes into a fucking frenzy, tearing apart the city searching for him and any clues as to his identity. Apparently they reeeaaally didn't like his standard approach on how to handle murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and human traffickers.
Due to the overly brutal and gory manner in which he slaughtered an entire gang of extremely dangerous criminals they thought he was just as dangerous and unstable if not even more dangerous and unstable then the Hero Killer Stain — which while not exactly wrong, at least in terms of how dangerous he could be if he really wanted to be, he still found extremely insulting — and they were determined to get him in fucking chains no matter what. It had made getting any of the things he needed waaaay more difficult than it should have been since the Police and the Pro Heroes were on extremely high alert. He still eventually got everything he needed and things were calming down quite a bit already, but there had still been way more close calls then he would have liked. He had to avoid such slaughter in the future because it just made his life a whole lot harder than it needed to be.
Opening up the plain blue plastic folder containing all the documentation and identification he was going to need, Alex pulled out three separate medical records and looked at them.
Name: Mercer, Elizabeth
Date of birth: 2113
Age: 35
Sex: Female
Quirk: N/A
Quirk Type: N/A
Quirk Description: N/A
Name: Mercer, Alexander J.
Date of birth: 2133
Age: 15
Sex: Male (Addendum: Technically biologically sexless, but was born in male form and thus firmly considers himself male. Can also change into female form at will.)
Quirk: Bioweapon
Quirk Type: Mutant, Transformation, Emitter
Quirk Description: Every cell in Alexander's body is made up of a highly aggressive retrovirus. This virus evolves extremely rapidly on its own, and evolves even faster when introduced to new D.N.A. that Alexander himself deems interesting or otherwise useful. He appears to have an almost terrifying degree of control over this retrovirus which grants him a number of abilities, many of which can potentially be extremely dangerous.
First, he can consciously determine if he wants his retrovirus to be infectious or non-infectious, what method of transmission he wants it to use, and can theoretically even determine who he wants it to infect specifically without infecting anyone other than his intended target. However, at this time he does not appear to have achieved this level of fine control over his abilities to choose his target of infection with such precision or accuracy. Thus if he uses an airborne method of transmission over any distance, then he currently runs the risk of infecting multiple city blocks at once.
Typically, when a living creature is infected with this retrovirus it completely overwhelms their immune system with absolutely no chance of being able to defend against it whatsoever and kills them within as little as five to ten seconds on average. However Alexander seems to be able to create new strains of this virus seemingly at will by consciously modifying the D.N.A. of however many of his own cells as he desires. As such he has created several variants that have temporarily debilitating effects but are otherwise non-lethal. Due to how aggressive they are and how they completely overwhelm the immune system, however, while the non-lethal variants are not permanent as they do intentionally kill themselves off after periods of time predetermined by Alexander, all strains of his virus that he creates are completely impossible to cure for anyone and anything except for Alexander himself. He can also evolve himself at an extraordinary rate allowing him to adapt to effectively anything given enough time.
Second, he has an extreme degree of conscious control over and hyper awareness of every last cell in his body. This allows him to consciously shapeshift any part of his body and even his entire body however he sees fit, even allowing him to create biological armor or turn his limbs into almost any sort of weapon he desires — which can be metallic or non-metallic as he so chooses — so long as he has enough biomass to do so. This control seems to extend even all the way down to the genetic and molecular levels.
He also appears to be able to use his biomass to create healthy non-viral cells of any type he so desires and can use them to heal others wounds regardless of the age, severity, or how numerous the wound(s) in question, modify and completely restructure a patient's bodies however he sees fit, or even completely rebuild their bodies all together if necessary. However this process, while not exactly painful, is best described as highly unpleasant.
Addendum: For legal reasons, the main test subjects for his ability to heal were mainly animals with biology very similar to that of humans. However, it was also tested on several injured humans who had legally volunteered for the experiment. There were no traces of infection and no complications arose in any of the animal or human test subjects.
On a similar note, Alexander can use his biomass to create artificial lifeforms from either viral cells or healthy non-viral cells, that he can seemingly make whatever level of intelligence he so desires — though he outright refuses to create anything above the intelligence of a typical animal for obvious moral and ethical reasons — which he can control via his "Hive Mind". This also allows him to create separate bodies for himself that he can control through his "Hive Mind" allowing him to be in multiple places at once, making him effectively unkillable as he has no "main body".
Third, he has super strength, super speed (to the point of super sonic), superhuman intelligence, and entirely inhuman agility. He can jump extremely high and long distances, can glide through the air via some unknown biological mechanism for relatively short distances before slowly losing momentum, can regain his lost momentum by "dashing" through the air thus allowing him to continue gliding for much longer distances then he would normally be capable of. His physical capabilities only appear to be limited by the form he chooses to take, how much biomass he currently has, and what Quirks he has gained from consuming new D.N.A.
Addendum: He does not appear to be able to glide at all when he is in what he describes as his "armored form", which is at bare minimum durable enough to shrug off a direct hit from the main cannon of a modern tank. However, even in this form he still retains the ability to "dash" in mid air and seemingly all of the rest of his superhuman abilities.
Fourth, he has the ability to "consume" anything that has D.N.A. regardless of intelligence, classification, or species. If he consumes the brain of any creature that has a brain he will gain all of their knowledge, memories, and presumably skills. While it has never been tested — due to obvious moral, ethical, and legal reasons — it is assumed the same applies to humans he consumes the brains of, as he has proven fully capable of consuming human biomass in highly controlled experiments involving strands of hair, finger nails, and blood and tissue samples. He has also proven to be able to assimilate the D.N.A. of any biomass he consumes if he deems it interesting or useful. As such, he has the ability to permanently gain the quirks of anyone who's D.N.A. he consumes a small sample of. However, not only does he permanently gain the quirk he seems to enhance and even outright weaponize it beyond its original natural capabilities, just as he appears to do with absolutely any D.N.A. he decides to assimilate. The weaponization part of the process appears to be an entirely automatic function of the retrovirus he is made of and is in no way consciously dictated by him.
Fifth, he appears to have a significant degree of rapid cellular regeneration so long as he has sufficient nutrients and energy to create new cells or access to more biomass. However, he does not appear to have any biological need to eat, drink, or even sleep. He is also theoretically immortal as he appears to be biologically incapable of ever truly growing old or getting sick and with access to enough biomass or nutrients he should be able to regenerate from anything so long as there is at the very least a single cell left of him.
Alex sighed and shook his head as he looked at the first page of Elizabeth's falsified medical records. Unfortunately Alex didn't remember the name of his own mother so he had to improvise, thus he used Elizabeth Greene's name and altered it to Elizabeth Mercer. If the school ever wanted to speak to his parents then he would also use Elizabeth's body, just dressed up like a normal human being rather than a Blackwatch test subject.
Looking at the first couple of pages of his own falsified medical file, he frowned. He didn't like that he was giving out so much information about himself and his abilities, but he thought it would be smarter than risking keeping any of it hidden and being called out on his bullshit later if he accidentally wound up making some sort of stupid mistake. This was a serious gamble on his part. If anything went wrong the government could try to abduct him in order to experiment on him which would mean he would be right back to dealing with the exact same shit he had to deal with in his original world. So, hopefully it would pay off because he was sick and tired of being on the run every fucking day of his goddamn life. Besides if the school ever did blood tests or something, they would inevitably find out his body was made of nothing but virus cells anyways.
Putting the medical files back in the plastic folder, Alex decided it was probably time to find an apartment to stay at. That meant it was time for him to split himself into two bodies and change forms. In a swirl of tendrils Alex shrunk by quite a bit as he morphed into a fifteen year old version of himself wearing pretty much the exact same outfit he always wore. This would be his new base form for quite awhile, he realized as he took a moment to look at himself. He then split his body in two and had the second body morph into Elizabeth Greene, wearing normal clothes.
He had already scouted out an apartment to rent with the money he took from the bastards in that human trafficking ring he killed a couple months ago. So he already knew exactly where to go.
{Two Weeks Later}
Over the past few months he had already accumulated thousands of quirks from walking around the city and consuming any potential source of D.N.A. he stepped on, be it hair, dead skin cells, saliva from a bit of gum someone spat out on the sidewalk, or whatever else. However, many of them were redundant as hell — seriously like almost half of them had to be various forms of creating or otherwise controlling water to varying degrees — and most of the rest were either stupid or emberassing as hell, were simply not worth the drawbacks, or were down right useless either in general or just to him specifically. In the end he had to discard somewhere around 99.99% of all the quirks he collected because he could only find a rare handful that were actually useful to him and weren't completely redundant.
However, he didn't get many opportunities to get anywhere near Pro Heros — mainly due to never being in the right place at the right time — and he knew quite a few of them had quirks that could potentially be absolutely invaluable to him. So, he was 100% going to take absolutely any opportunity to be within the same vicinity as a Pro Hero that he could get, just to have a chance to steal a bit of their D.N.A. so he could gain their quirk. So that meant watching every villain attack in person that he possibly could.
Fortunately, as he had assumed, it didn't take long for the pro heroes to show up. The super villain knocked over a power line and sent it falling towards the ground below, where it was caught mid air by "Death Arms" the punching hero. Unfortunately Alex already had gotten a super strength quirk that was about equal with Death Arms quirk from some construction worker. Said quirk enhanced his own already existing super strength by several orders of magnitude, which was saying quite a bit when one realized the fact he could already throw a tank a block or two. Plus this enhanced super strength increased multiplicatively whenever he morphed his arms into their muscle mass form and the more biomass he added to his arms in that form. He would have prefered it if his super strength increased exponentially instead, but increasing multiplicatively was fine too.
Besides, if Alex was to be perfectly honest he was a bit worried to try and test the limits of his enhanced super strength for fear of the collateral damage he could potentially cause. He'd seen videos where All Might destroyed entire city blocks with a single punch. So while he didn't think he was quite as strong as All Might, at least physically, he couldn't be certain and was still worried he might accidentally destroy a few buildings which was already way more than he could afford to risk. Especially since using quirks in public was illegal unless you had a permit. Either way, he was glad he found a quirk that allowed him to turn on and off his enhanced super strength at will rather than it being active all the time, otherwise he would have had to have discarded it all together due to the danger it would have presented both to himself and to those around him.
Backdraft appeared next and formed a barricade out of water to keep the crowd out of the danger zone. Alex just sighed in annoyance and shook his head. Why the hell did so many people have water quirks god damn it! It was unbelievably frustrating to him since they were so unbelievably fucking redundant. He had already gained a resistance to water and could thus use such quirks but it was still extremely frustrating to get what was effectively the same quirk over and over again.
Suddenly someone jumped completely over the crowd and onto the railroad above. Listening to the screaming fangirls Alex realized it was Kamui Woods. Finally, someone with a vaguely interesting quirk! If he could get a bit of Kamui's D.N.A., then he could theoretically have a source of unlimited biomass. Normally he avoided consuming plants if he could since their cell walls made them more difficult to consume then animal or even fungus cells, but in this case he would make an exception since to him the idea of unlimited biomass was more than worth it. Creating a little mosquito-like creature out of his biomass he sent it rocketing towards Kamui. Having it land on the back of the Pro Hero's neck in the middle of his fight with the mutant guy, Alex had it take a small blood sample for him. When he had enough blood for his purposes he had the creature return to him, whereupon he consumed both it and the blood sample.
Integrating the D.N.A. with the rest of the cells in his body, he created a small fist sized hollow area inside his torso around the middle of his stomach area filled with small tendrils that he had turn to wood like Kamui's arms. He then had these tendrils start creating wooden branches which he proceeded to consume just as fast as he made them. Much to his delight it did indeed have the effect he desired as he felt his biomass rapidly increasing, laws of conservation of matter and energy be damned.
Ignoring the green haired fanboy standing next to him squealing about Kamui Woods, Alex smiled to himself in satisfaction. He was already absolutely loving this quirk. He had already been a monster before but this quirk alone made him effectively unstoppable by any conventional means since he could now regenerate any biomass he lost about as fast as he lost it. Unless, of course, he was caught in the blast radius of another nuke for whatever reason. In which case he would still be reduced to a small puddle like he was the first time but this quirk would allow him to completely regenerate from it a lot faster then he had the first time.
Seeing as the fight appeared to be about to come to an end as Kamui Woods was about to wrap the mutant up in his branches Alex started turning to leave, seeing no reason to stick around much longer. However, upon hearing the booming declaration of "CANYON CANNON" and a loud CRASH, he paused and turned back to the fight to see just what the hell was happening. He was somewhat surprised to see a giant blond woman in a white, orange, and purple costume with two fake purple horns sticking out of the side of her head. And when he said she was a giant he meant that she was a literal giant, standing taller than most of the buildings around her.
Walking over to the now unconscious villain she bent over, grabbed him by the arm, and looked back towards the crowd in a way that was blatantly obviously an attempt to look sexy to appeal to the perverts in the crowd. Alex, having his sexdrive drastically reduced compared to a normal human, was largely unimpressed with this, though even he had to admit that she was quite the attractive woman. "My name is 'Mount Lady!' Pleasure to meet you, and leave the rest to me. This villain really suits my formal debut!" She introduced herself, immediately solving the issue of Alex having absolutely no fucking clue who the hell she was.
With a slight shrug to himself, Alex created another small mosquito-like creature and had it go take a sample of her blood as well. If utilized properly in the right situation then turning into a giant could be extremely useful, especially when combined with all of Alex's other abilities especially his quirk enhanced super strength. The effects that quirk could potentially have on his devastators alone were simply too amazing to pass up. Granted, with enough biomass he could make himself that large anyways, but gaining that much biomass even with Kamui Woods' quirk would take time. This quirk would be sooo much more convenient, and theoretically if he gained enough biomass to grow that size on his own the quirk should still increase his size even further by an amount that is proportionally equivalent, meaning he should be able to use it to become absolutely mind numbingly fucking massive if he really needed to for whatever reason.
It only took a few seconds in total for the mosquito-like creature to get the blood sample and return to him. Just like the last one, he immediately consumed both it and the blood sample it contained. Unfortunately he couldn't test this quirk here without being arrested for illegal quirk usage due to how blindingly obvious it would be to anyone with eyes when he suddenly started growing just as large if not larger than Mount Lady herself. Oh well, though, he would just have to be patient for now. Having gained two new extremely useful quirks, Alex turned and began walking away completely satisfied with how the day had gone. These two quirks would go quite nicely with the few other useful ones he had collected so far.
In total he had: a resistance to electricity — while it was fairly simple and not very flashy he decided to keep it because it all but negated one of his only real weaknesses —, the ability to heat up any metal he touched until it became white hot without burning himself while also preventing it from melting or losing any of its normal strength which also applied to the metallic spikes and blades he could create via his biomass, intense telekinesis, the ability to grow wings which actually allowed him to fly whenever he didn't have too much biomass weighing him down otherwise they merely let him glide longer distances and air dash even further — though even with the wings, unless he had particularly low levels of biomass at the time, he still couldn't glide nor fly in his armored form for some reason. The telekinesis more than compensated for this, however as he could use it on himself —, the ability to produce some sort of super adhesive that stuck to everything except him, quirk enhanced super strength, quirk enhanced super senses, the ability to fire water from himself fast enough to cut a person in half, the ability to create infinite biomass for himself via producing and immediately consuming wood, and the ability to grow to over 1200% his original size — according to a very rough estimate on his part since he had no idea how tall Mount Lady was in her normal form nor her exact height in her giant form.
He had all of that, plus his normal abilities and the abilities he gained from consuming animals and insects like spiders, blood samples from highly venomous snakes in a zoo, and a blood sample from an electric eel from a local aquarium — which had been a serious pain in the ass for him to get due to it being so public. Yeah, he was pretty damn confident he could stop any super villain he came across already, but to be able to do that in the first place he was still going to have to attend U.A. to get his license to be able to do it legally. Which brought him back to what he was doing in the first place.
School was going to be let out for the year soon, so he was scouting out several schools all throughout the city in order to determine which one would be the easiest to impersonate a teacher that works there so he could sneak in and hack into the school system's network to create false educational records for himself and Elizabeth. Of course, his story was going to be that he was homeschooled his entire life because Elizabeth had been worried he would be bullied or treated differently by other children and possibly even the teachers because of his truly terrifying quirk, now he was attending U.A. to become a Pro Hero because he wanted to help people despite how "scary" his quirk was. While Elizabeth herself would have two doctorates in medicine and virology respectively and masters degrees in physics and engineering all from a highly accredited college which she got put through basically for free via several scholarships.
These degrees would allow Alex to get a fairly well paying job as a doctor at a local hospital with his second body having taken Elizabeth's form. He honestly would have volunteered at the hospital himself since he knew he could save a lot of lives with his abilities that way too. However, as a supposed "fifteen year old" he wasn't legally old enough to get a Quirk Labor License to legally be able to use his quirk to heal people at the hospital. Stupid as hell though that was. He could easily bring someone back from the verge of death in a matter of seconds, yet he wasn't allowed to because he wasn't "old enough" to do so? It was pure unadulterated idiocy at its finest. But those were the laws and there was nothing he could do about it, unfortunately.
Regardless, Alex knew it would be slightly suspicious that "Elizabeth" would only now be getting a job at the hospital the same year he applied to U.A. However, he had gone into extreme, painstaking, hyper paranoid detail in creating absolutely everything else in their background. So he knew for a fact there wasn't even the smallest, most minute detail about any of the rest of their story that would be the least bit suspicious to even the most skilled and experienced investigators or detectives. Not even the fact they were so unbelievably not suspicious would raise even a single alarm bell because of the very specific way he very carefully constructed their story and records to avoid making it look too perfect. For all intents and purposes they were just a completely normal family living in Japan and no one could ever say otherwise, he had made absolutely sure of it. So the fact all of that was happening in the same year was very much the only thing that was suspicious about them and that could easily be explained or written off so it hardly mattered.
Getting these damned school records were the final step in all of this and fortunately it should also be the easiest since he didn't have to sneak into a fucking bank to create false bank records, or sneak into a government building to create false tax records, or any other bullshit like that. Compared to that crap, sneaking into a school or school system building would be child's play. Which he found a bit ironic considering he was currently in the form of a child… Well, technically a teenager but still.
{Summer}
After school was let out, Alex had managed to sneak into a building belonging to the school system and create false records for himself and "Elizabeth". He also managed to sneak into a well known and highly respected university and got "Elizabeth" her degrees. As soon as Alex had gotten Elizabeth;s degrees he almost immediately applied for a job at the local hospital and actually managed to get it within the same week since the hospital was a bit understaffed recently.
While waiting to be able to take the U.A. entrance exams at the beginning of the next school year, Alex spent the vast majority of his time in his room practicing and experimenting with his abilities. He was mainly trying to teach himself how and when to pull his punches and by how much so he wouldn't accidentally kill or permanently cripple someone, either in training at U.A. or when fighting villains as a Pro Hero. Restraint was something he actually had a fairly significant amount of trouble with as he wasn't used to holding back in a fight. He was very used to ripping his enemies limb from limb and leaving them a broken bloody corpse in the middle of the street. So this practice was actually something he desperately needed if he was ever going to become a Pro Hero rather than a killer.
He also spent time developing non-lethal strains of the Blacklight Virus that produced temporarily debilitating symptoms but were otherwise non life threatening and didn't cause any truly permanent damage to the target(s). That way he could have more tools at his disposal to better incapacitate his enemies without even having to lay so much as a finger on them.
Unfortunately every time he tried to make a new strain that knocked people out, made them forget things, or affected the brain in general in any capacity they always ended up killing or crippling the human bio constructs he made to test them on or having permanent side effects. So unfortunately he couldn't make any instant knockout viruses. He was, however, able to create a virus that causes temporary blindness, a virus that causes temporary deafness, a virus that causes painful extreme sensitivity to both light and sound, a virus that causes intense debilitating pain throughout a target's entire body by attacking nerve endings — just their nerve endings, not the actual brain or central nervous system —, and a viral equivalent to teargas. None of which lasted for any longer than an hour and did not kill the target, cripple them for life, nor leave any other permanent side effects.
He could also produce venoms and toxins due to various types of venomous and poisonous creatures and plants he had either consumed or consumed D.N.A. samples from. He could also produce an excessively potent version of stomach acid if he really wanted to. However, as the blacklight virus enhanced and weaponized each of these venoms, toxins, and even stomach acid to a highly lethal degree as it did with pretty much all D.N.A. he consumed. These were far more dangerous than their natural counterparts and their natural counterparts were already dangerous.
As such, he really couldn't use any of them unless he was actively trying to kill someone, which would be quite counterproductive for his goals of being a Pro Hero. Granted, Pro Heros did have to kill sometimes if they had absolutely no other choice. Hell, even All Might had killed a few villains on a couple of occasions. However, it was always a last resort, it was always highly frowned upon, and in many cases there was an investigation to see if the use of lethal force was truly necessary. So, in most circumstances his debilitating but otherwise temporary and non-lethal viruses would usually be a much better alternative to any of these enhanced and weaponized venoms, toxins, or stomach acid.
Other than experimenting and practicing in his room, however, he also went for fairly frequent walks throughout the city collecting more D.N.A. samples to gain more quirks. Unfortunately, as per usual, well over 99% of all of the quirks he collected were redundant, useless, redundant and useless, were simply pointless, or were so stupid or had such stupid requirements that he simply refused to keep them let alone actually use them. The two he did keep were actually rather minor, all things considered. One made him slightly more durable then usual especially in his armored form, and the second gave him extreme heat resistance again especially in his armored form
Except for the electronics all of the furniture in the apartment were made of extra dense and super strong hardened wood or bone-like completely inert biomass which had been polished to a beautiful jet black shine. While the chairs, cabinets, table, and the computer desk in each of the rooms, and pretty much everything else were all completely solid and hard to the touch, the couches at least had fairly comfortable if extremely durable cushions. Alex didn't have any beds in any of the rooms since he didn't need to sleep and didn't expect to ever have any guests stay overnight. His kitchen was almost completely empty except for the fridge which was full of nothing but raw meat that was there for when he was running low on biomass and felt a bit hungry. He never went into the bathroom at all unless he needed to use the mirror for whatever reason. So, all in all his apartment was fairly normal, at least by his standards.
It had gotten a bit awkward when some co-workers from the hospital decided to come over for dinner one night and all Alex had in the way of food was raw meat and had no dishes, silverware, or cooking utensils to speak of. He considered refusing but he decided it would be better just to let them come so as to maintain the illusion of normalcy. So he had been forced to run down to the store and pick up a few dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, and groceries other than just pure meat before the guests could actually arrive. He also had to create a couple extra chairs and expand the table to fit them all since the co-workers were bringing their kid over too.
The guests complimented Alex on his cooking, which he didn't find the least bit surprising since he had the collective memories, skills, and experience of over a hundred different expert chefs that he had consumed. They were also apparently very interested in the furniture as being in the medical field the idea that virus cells could stick together to form such dense and strong materials seemed to fascinate them, since "Elizabeth" had told them Alex had made the furniture himself and had long since informed them about Alex's so-called "quirk". Honestly, the fact that they were comfortable with not just being in the same room as but actually sitting down and having dinner with a living virus monster despite working in the medical field was surprising to say the least.
By the end of that visit, on a bit of a whim Alex created a small but highly detailed sculpture of the two of them holding hands with their daughter that was made of completely inert metallic biomass. He then gave it to them as a bit of a gift since they had appeared so interested in the furniture he had made and had been such good guests. They took it eagerly and thanked him happily before they finally left. Being made entirely of the same metallic biomass that made up the blades of Alex's claws or sword arm and being completely inert — essentially dead —, that sculpture was extraordinarily strong and would probably be around for several generations or more.
After that those three and a few other of Alex's co-workers would start coming over to visit on occasion. They didn't get visitors all the time but it was frequent enough that Alex eventually decided to start stocking the fridge and cupboards with more than just raw meat.
Eventually the summer came to an end and it was time for the U.A. entrance exams.
End Notes: About Alex's quirk description, yes. He's really that powerful in cannon if not even more powerful than how I portrayed him. Hell, he even has a form of telekinesis in cannon as evidence by how Heller levitates shards of concrete and himself whenever gaining a new power, and by how Elizabeth Greene controls those balls of electricity she shoots at you in her "mother" form. Speaking of the Elizabeth Greene boss fight, he even has the ability to control his bioelectricity just like Greene after consuming her so he could shoot those same balls of electricity if he wanted to. However I didn't include the telekinesis and instead replaced it with the ability to create healthy non-viral cells and create bio-constructs with them, and I replaced the bioelectrical control with the ability to heal people. Instead he gained those abilities through quirks.
Seriously, look up an Alex Mercer respect thread if you don't believe me. I recommend the one from Comicvine Gamespot. It goes a bit too far and exaggerates his power a bit too much in a few places in my opinion, suggesting he can control the rotation of the Earth with his telekinesis for example, but it's still a pretty good measure of how powerful he is if you can weed out the obvious bullshit. The dude's a walking viral apocalypse in human form. And in this story he's like an enhanced version of All for One that doesn't make people quirkless when he gains their quirk.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed reading this chapter as much as if not more than I enjoyed writing it! Constructive criticism is always welcome! I can't improve if I don't know what I'm doing wrong after all.
Stay safe out there everyone!
